UPDATE: This business has closed :( OK, I guessed on the address, but this place is wedged between Quizno's and the ever-addicting JavaJ. The sign reads "delicious tamales Friday, Saturday, Sunday," and let me tell ya THEY ARE. Spicy pork, corn, and colombian vegetable. Top it off with a little cholula and you've got yourself one fulfilling meal. As the name states, they do carry meats and fish (including menudo, tripe, and other Mexican delicacies). A pretty decent selection of Mexican staples too (tortillas, masa, salsa, etc). read more

Parking can be difficult during peak season but most of the time it is ok. Compared to prices in the Philippines, they are overpriced but still consider them to have reasonable pricing in terms of US standard. They mostly have what I needed when craving for Filipino food and delicacies. They have also expanded their products to other asian countries. Staff are mostly welcoming. When you buy fresh fish, you have the option to have it cleaned free of charge (just give tips). Their kitchen has a variety in their menu. My fave back in the days was their BBQ pork belly however they don't serve that now. I also love their fish soup (sinigang na pompano). Basically their food is really good. The selection of produce is impressive, they also have a wide selection of fresh fish and seafood as well as different cuts of meat. In addition, they have a great amount of frozen and canned goods and of course dry goods. It's not only filipinos that patronize them I see a lot of different ethnicity coming in to buy ingredients and their products so that's really good. They also have a selection of Filipino breads, like pandesal, pan de ube, and cheese rolls. The store is clean, extremely organized, and fully stocked. I personally like roaming through the sauces aisles and ice cream section. There is a hot foods area and a bubble tea shop that I didn't get to check out, but they looked good. Some pantry items and produce are on the pricer side, but you're basically paying for the convenience. If you're in the area and don't want to make the drive to KP Market or Seafood City, I highly recommend shopping at Oriental Market.

It needs a sauce or mayo or maybe even some veg, the bread and meat were delish though. The burrito was the same it just lacked flavor and salt, grilling the burrito would definitely elevate it. The hot sauce was burn your mouth off hot lol. The potato salad was ok, a little on the sweet side. The fries were good. I think the prices are more than fair. I definitely want to come back and try the tacos because that seems to be a hit in the reviews.

Fried garlic crunch. Instant noodles. More pickles and shrimp cake in the fridge. These are not things you'll find in the nearby major Asian supermarket. And if you find yourself with too much fermented tea leaf at once, well, I have sesame dressing at home, and my go to is noodles dressed with the sesame dressing for a good base flavor, with the laphet added for a twang in the flavor, and cilantro added for freshness. Because they sell laphet by the bag on the shelf, and that's a lot, but they also sell them in packet bundles on the stand near the door, and the packets are super powerful, at least when you're cooking for just a bachelor.

It's been a while since I have been inside Mercado Loco... let's see how they are doing!…read more Tonight, I did not bring enough of my homemade carnitas over to my clients and she was wanting carnita taquitos. So, I pulled into Mercado Loco because their carnitas is delicious! They have a very compact parking lot with a vendor on the sidewalk selling the doritos that you can put your sauce & lime on. I skipped him today and walked through those automatic doors... I know Mercado Loco has been here for decades. I grew up just around the corner and finally walked in about 5 years ago for the first time. Boy, was I missing out! At first, you notice this is a Mexican grocery store that also offers hot lunch/dinners. The price for some of their items are a little high than your typical grocery store... being that some of the items they offer are higher quality. However, sometimes, the prices do not match up when you get to the front. Cilantro had a price of $.69 on display, but I was charged $.75... it was only a tiny difference, but just putting it out there. I went straight to the hot case and a woman with a beautiful smile greeted me in Spanish and asked me what I would like. I ordered a pound of their carnitas. Oh, heck, give me some of those chichorrones, too. Next thing you know, I'm grabbing some of their hot salsa... I think their hot salsa is one of the best, hottest salsas that I have ever had that I can handle! We're talking nose running, but it's so good you can't stop! Next, I grab some king size corn tortillas. Some cilantro... they have wonderful produce available here... as well as those gorgeous purple dragon fruits when the season is right. After my pound is carnitas, pound of chicharonnes, cilantro, tortillas, and salsa... it came out to just a hair above $40! Ouch, but that is what you pay for when you want authentically cooked carnitas and chicharonnes. When I got home, I was a little disappointed that I was given some of the dried out pieces of their carnitas. When I say dry, it was too hard to eat. So I cut those parts off and tossed them (my carnitas blew their out of the water, btw.... just saying, lol.) The chicharon's were hot and miss throughout the entire time we ate them. Super hard, popping you he l can hear in your teeth, in your jaw... but some parts were delicious, succulent, crispy... yum! I love coming here earlier in the day. When I get tacos, they for 99% off the time on point! They are gorgeous and tasty... and get the HOT SALSA!

After inspection at home the smell was faint. But once cooked it almost seems like the meat had been marinated in that fabuloso fragrent liquid smell. This place is dirty and filthy. People are careless of the quality just like the owner. He use to have an other location in Rancho Cordova. But the dirty details about their specials and promotions made me sexond doubt buying anything feom there. JOKINGLY i would ask if the meat was good this time. (Its fresh we just got this batch.)

This restaurant was the same location for that promising Mexican restaurant just before COVID hit and was thus, forced to close. The inside was not too big, it was just the right size. Nothing fancy but I didn't go there for the fancy. I was there for the sushi and deep fried soft shell crab. The soft shell crab was crispy, just a little bit too done but had a nice crunch and the serving size was perfect. The sashimi were sliced in a variety of thinness/thickness, I guess depending on the fish. The sake/salmon was thick enough but the rest were not so much. But, it's AYCE so just double the order for each fish and you'll satisfy that sashimi cravings you've been having since last weekend. Also, surprise, surprise. They also have amaebi. One of my favorite nigiris. Sadly, the deep fried head didn't come with it only for us to find out that we had to specifically ask for it. I understand because many don't want to try the head, so food waste is minimal. To the service and staff I go. They came by our table asking if we would like to order some more. Albeit not too busy, maybe 10 tables at the same time we were there, but it's nice that they approach you not for the purpose of rushing you but to make sure you've had your fill of your favorite nigiri/sashimi/maki and the variety of rolls. It was a good experience. The staff made our visit a successful experience. The choices for food was expansive and I was not disappointed at all. Thank you Sake.

My father wandered to the separate section of this establishment and got ice cream. The mocha was great! I substituted it with oat milk - not sure if that's what made it taste better but it was satisfying enough that we ended up heading over there the following day for coffee. I assume because we arrived near dinner hours and school ended, there was quite a bit of foot traffic. But overall, the experience was great! Found my new local coffee spot in Roseville. Thanks!

I don't live in Roseville but was here for an appointment so I stopped by since this place has been on my list. After trying dozens of matchas in Sacramento and surrounding areas, this one definitely rivals the top spot. It's a small location and the service was nice and pretty standard. They also have a kiosk so you can take extra time to scroll through the menu with photos. Not a fan of the AI artwork throughout if I'm being honest but I know it's a sign of the times. And I'm glad their drinks actually do look pretty damn close to the photos unlike other businesses. I got the regular size double matcha, less sweet. If it was regular sweetness, I don't think I'd like it as much. The matcha is good quality, seems like it was freshly handwhisked but not sure. It is strong without being astringent. The matcha cream is amazing and strong as well. You def have to love matcha to enjoy this one. It's going to be stronger than something you find at Starbucks of course. I love matcha to hit me in the face so this drink was perfect. They have the good ice, too ! A similar matcha I've tried, and is my personal #1 across dozens I've tried, is from Offbeat Coffee (x2 matcha). Gu Ca Phe has finessed something similar and I honestly feel like it would be worth the drive from West Sac to Roseville just for Gu Ca Phe's double matcha. I want to try their other drinks. The interior is small but clean and brightly lit. The coffee is good but weaker than I expect when getting Vietnamese coffee. It is phin dripped, and the classic flavor is there, but less creamy texture. Traditionally the brew is very strong and mixed with condensed milk only - the ice in this instance is necessary to balance the boldness. In this coffee, between the added milk and large amount of ice, it is watered down and not the full bodied experience you would expect. Overall still a good cup, and probably the best you can get in the immediate area, but not wholly satisfying if you are seeking the traditional Vietnamese coffee flavor.
