I first requested a quote in late December before I even had a new apartment lined up. Their online tool made it easy to get an initial estimate without an in‑home visit, and Dasha (and sometimes Lilith) answered all my questions over the following weeks. A month later, when I was ready for an in‑person assessment, they honored my original quote even though my inventory had changed (many more smaller boxes, one less big piece of furniture). They visited on a Thursday and scheduled pickup for the next Tuesday. A team of three loaded everything in under two hours (right after Winter Storm Fern). I arrived in Seattle on Saturday, and the driver called 15 minutes after I had picked up my keys from the leasing office (I am not kidding). Despite my building having no loading dock, he found a workable spot, unloaded everything, and rebuilt my furniture solo in about 4.5 hours total. The original delivery window was up to two weeks, so four days was beyond anything I expected. I'm incredibly impressed and highly recommend DC Moving Inc for long‑distance moves.

I came across Envelop by McClain on Facebook marketplace while looking for a new dining room table…read more The table was reasonably priced and McClain was not only willing, but able to deliver because he owns his own small, family moving business. Having moved several times, I feel safe saying that the McClain brothers went above and beyond any standards I previously had for movers or accommodating businessmen in general. After agreeing on the table delivery, I realized I should take advantage of the box truck and began adding on various stops, pick ups and drop offs. McClain never flinched, simply negotiated a very reasonable service and delivery fee and it was all done with care, speed and quality. Envelop is insured, legit and a local, family business, with access to 17 & 26 feet vehicles. All we intended was for them to deliver a table, now they will moving us to our new home and I'm happy to know the last worry we'll have is the reliability of Envelop.

They were flexible with us as we had to reschedule due to weather, and had several complicated moves that were handled very well. As with any move, we took care ourselves to wrap things, communicate our needs and expectations, but I would do that with any mover. Ask questions, clarify and explain what you want. All furniture was wrapped carefully with moving blankets and secured and all breakables were treated with care. I've never seen a team of people work so hard!

It wasn't intentional, but the amount of damage we saw was much more than what I would have been okay with. The furniture and location was difficult however given that everything made it to where they needed to be, I'm sure it could have been done much more carefully. That made this pretty mid tier service. So 3 stars. And that's what we initially put in our review. But then after putting in our claim on damages with ample proof of damages, and also our honest review, my wife received a call from one of the movers asking us to take down the poor review because they would get in trouble with the owners. Now I'm wondering goes on behind the scenes because the good reviews seems much more shady now. How many other reviews got asked to be taken down? They got the move done and did it relatively quick given the difficulty. The price was rather high given the quality of work completed. And given how quick they were to request us to take a poor review down to me deserves an even poorer review. Honestly, if they had taken accountability right away to the damages I would have felt better about a simple 3 star review. I can't in good conscience recommend Zip Moving and Storage.

We weren't able to give much notice but they were able to move some things around and squeeze us in on a day they were booked for. We were told they would shoot for between 2 and 3 pm. The day before our move, we were exhausted and not prepared. We called McKendree and asked if they could add another guy, because we were not even close to being prepared enough for the movers to come. The owner was so kind and said he could send his nephew (who was working for money for college during the summer) to our house in the morning to help gets us packed. His nephew showed up at 8 am. He definitely had his work cut out for him. What a respectful kind and efficient worker! The movers showed up at 2:15 as promised and worked until almost 11pm. We had some difficult stairs and angles to get around and they maneuvered our furniture delicately with ease. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and they were hard workers. They all went above and beyond for us. We can't say enough about them. You can't go wrong with this company! Thank you to all of Mckendree Moving. We are so happy in our new home. KJ and DJ
