I'm not one to write reviews, but sometimes a service is so poor that others should be made aware. Seeing other reviews on Reliant before writing this, it was apparent that the many poor reviews made me wish I had initially been more aware. Like many companies, they are your best friend until you actually have an issue that needs their attention. Not only were their technicians poorly trained, but there is a revolving door of people, making their customer communication very poor. If that weren't enough, there is an extra charge for items that actually need attention despite having a warranty, work scopes for proposed work are not provided, and the cost is like a moving target, increasing with each new technician involved. Unfortunately, this poor customer service starts with their office manager, Danielle, who is totally uninterested in providing customer support unless it meets her particular needs. Warranty coverage is like insurance, a good program until you actually need it. I would say "be careful", but it really is better to simply look elsewhere if you need a pest management company that actually practices customer service. read more

I am so upset with the service we received from Reliant Pest Management. I started to see more spiders, tarantulas, scorpions, and silverfish then we ever had before with the previous company we had. I called to cancel the service because I was so upset with the quality and I was charged a cancellation fee. When I called back to say that their fee was unacceptable because their product did not do what it said it would do. I was told that a manager would reach out to rectify the situation but their is nothing they can do except refund my money for the cancellation fee. I was told that I should have called to have them come out to spray again. If their product didn't work the first time, how is it going to work by coming out and spraying again? We had the unfortunate experience of our attic becoming a wild animal refuge for all the little critters in our neighborhood it seems. Daniel did an outstanding job for us! We had 2 other companies come out to talk with us about our situation. Daniel knew the most about the animals, their habits and what we were to expect. He went above and beyond. All around impressed. I also felt the most confident with Reliant being able help us over the other companies. Reliant Pest Management service my house in Pflugerville for the last year and a half of me living there, and they did a great job. We never had any issues with pests, and they always came on schedule. I thought their pricing was fair, and they were always available if I called and needed anything. THE WORST!! I've had 2 sales guys come to my door in the last couple of weeks. They are so pushy and rude! The last guy asked me if my husband was home after I turned him down. When I told him no he said "really?" I said "what??". Then he told me, "you just really didn't sound sincere when you told me that he's not home". Maybe because I was surprised he asked me that. But it's none of his business who is in MY house. I will never use this company and I promptly sent out a text to my neighbors to warn them about this guy. I wish 0 stars was an option. read more

So disappointed. Today two exterminators came to the house to service for mosquitos. Our backyard was locked and my dog was in the yard. They rang the doorbell for assistance-they needed access. I'm injured so it took (less than) a minute to answer door. I answered, they were on yard with tanks on their back. The one said "oh good, you're home" I answered, "apology, I'm injured, it takes a minute to get to door. I'll get the dog and gate for you"- so I did, then told them they had access now. The "one" that did the talking was filling up a tank with water from my outdoor faucet. I thought nothing of it. I went inside as fast as I could to shut the blinds to keep the dogs more calm, they panic enough with the sound of the sprayers.Then sat in my bedroom, which has viewable access to backyard and waited. I time the exit of the extermination, so I know at an hour after is when I'll allow my dogs out. I waited. I heard the spray machine on sides of house. Then waited. They never entered the yard. I called their office and was told the office could see, on GPS. that the exterminators were here and they claim to have serviced my yard which they didn't. I was here. I get nothing by not telling the truth. I would not want my yard serviced twice, immediately back to back, as I have small pets and multiple meyloma. "Reliant" stole my money today. They aren't reputable. I wish I had the option to choose less than a but I can't post this without choosing at least 1. That's the only reason that one star is my rating. Can anyone refer me to a reputable exterminator service in South Austin? Please. read more

Reliant's pushy salesperson refused to leave even after I told them we were not interested. When I finally got them to go, they just came back when I wasn't at home. They used their pushy sales tactics to lock us into a long-term overpriced service contract. Trying to make financial cuts during a pandemic, we attempted to terminate, and they hit us up again for a termination fee. We asked to pause the service agreement to which they still said no. I called to voice my frustration. The customer service rep ran me through their script. I asked to talk to a manager to which the person responded, "Why? They won't say anything differently." Anyway, long story short, they said "too bad!" This behavior speaks to their culture BIG TIME! Use a small local outfit, they care. read more

A sales man came by the house and offered us a good deal on the pest control. We decided to go ahead and enroll on a year contract. 4 months later I still have an issues with spiders and others pest around and in my house. Customer service was not helpful and the sales person lied about "just call and we will come over and spray again for free, month after month". I canceled my service even tho I was forced to pay an early termination fee for services not rendered as promised. I will not use them again and will warn others of their bad practices. read more

My service ended in February. I had paid for a year. Never had too many complaints, seemed to do the minimal. April 1st someone contacted me to sign up for another year. I said I wanted to cancel and use a local service. Never heard anything until June 12th. Reliant claimed I did not give a 30 day cancellation notification and charged me a penalty of 84.00. I didn't even have service! I contested but got no satisfaction. I paid it to get them off my back. Today I received an opportunity to give feedback, but when clicking on the link I had to set up an email with gobudy for a fee. This company is not above board and with so many other pest services - go to someone else. read more

Answer phones when I call or have an issue. Come back upon request with no problems, never hesitate. Bugs are kept at bay most of the time, only at change of season but they always oblige and come take care of them. Clean friendly on time and stay in touch technicians. read more

Not reliable at all. I have scheduled service 3 times to come out to handle a pest issue in my house and they have not shown up any of the times. ( They are/were my service provider that we pay every month) When i call its the same excuse 3 TIMES in a row!!!! Sorry the tech got busy on an emergency. Never once do they call to let you know they will not be showing up, so you are just stuck sitting there waiting for them to never show up. i have wasted too many hours and missed too much work to ever trust them again. Highly recommend this company. We bought a new house in a brand New neighborhood so scorpions, ants, and large beetle type bugs were a HUGE problem. They were Quick to come out and the problem quickly disappeared. I have them treat the lawn every two weeks, and they knock on the door to ask if we have any problems inside the house. If we do they treat it, but we don't have issues inside so the upkeep on the lawn alone, is keeping the bugs out. They get the job done VERY quckly. I tried a couple of companies prior to calling reliant, and they just didn't cut it. Call them...they've got decent prices, and if you are as squeamish as me about bugs, they are the best around. read more

Do not recommend. Reliant's services don't work. They claim their mosquito spray is water activated, so they come out and spray when it's raining. It does not work. I complained about the work and they said someone would call back and did not. I canceled the service and they want a cancellation fee. for inferior and lazy work. DO NOT START SERVICES WITH THIS COMPANY. They misled me and said it was a six month contract, but it's actually six uses. Go somewhere else. Dropping the review by 1 star. After using Reliant for 1 year we were still experiencing critters inside the house, mainly scorpions. Complained a few times and they came right out and sprayed. But it never seemed to help. Trialed Aptive Environmental and saw big difference on first treatment. They advised us on ways to help ensure the pesticide lasts and we find lots of dead scorpions, spiders and other critters after each treatment. Ended contract with Reliant as they just weren't as consistently effective as Aptive. read more

RELIANT PEST MANAGEMENT knocked on my door offering mosquito control, and we hired them without checking references. The service proved inefficient and to cancel it we had to pay a fine (surprise!). The salesman confirmed that we could try and cancel at any time (but he casually omitted that you could if you paid a $100 fine). Apparently we signed something without really reading the contract that provided for 6 months fidelity. Please make sure that you check references and read what you sign before trusting the salesperson. read more

I'm very surprised by some of the bad reviews here. We have been using Reliant since we moved in (about 5 years) and we've had no problems at all. We have no insects in our house and we usually don't even do the inside treatment, just the periphery to create a barrier to entry. There have been a couple of times we've seen ants but when I call, they send the guy out the next day and it is taken care of with a little dot of ant goop. In the spring/summer we will usually see a lot of wasp action so we make sure they do a thorough check of all the eaves. We noticed a hive that they missed on our quarterly visit and they came out the next day to spray it. All the young men who I have met have been very professional, friendly and most importantly, they get he job done. We live in Texas so we expect there to be lots of pests (scorpions, ants, racoons, armadillos, etc.), so I don't expect to live in a sterile vault. The important thing is that when you do see pests, they come right out and take care of it. We have never gotten charged anything extra beyond our regular quarterly fee. But I'm all about the consumer's getting their money worth and with this company you get your money worth and more. This company is very respectful to their customer's and their customer's always come first. When I first started with Reliant I had alot of bugs coming into my home after the first two applications we seen a hugh difference "No Bug Problems", so when you think about a good pest control please give Reliant Pest Management a try. Buyer beware! Do not use these guys... nothing they say is true. I had someone come to my door and tell me that they could spray my house that day and I wasn't committed to future services. He stated that I would have to have a service agreement that I could cancel at any time and that they wouldn't come on routine appointments. I could just schedule them as I needed. I told the person that I was very leery of that but he assured me that they would not come and just show up at my house and he absolutely guaranteed that I could discontinue the service. Then I got a bill stating that they just showed up and sprayed. I called and stated that I did not schedule a service. They said they scheduled it and sent me reminders which I have no record of that. When I told them not to come back and they stated to cancel I need to pay $175. These guys are crooks. Note: We don't like to write reviews unless we feel it can really help people. We are hoping no one has to go through what we did and we did try everything we could to resolve this directly with Reliant. TL:DR: -bad customer service including billing problems -they do not respect customer time or needs -their defense when they make a mistake is to blame the customer and cite their policies rather than try to understand the problem. -if indeed you do have an actual pest issue they don't prioritize it, they do whatever is most convenient for their routes even if your issue is urgent. -they do not provide you with an actual time they will be there unless you call and set that up each time and they don't give you a heads up call unless you specifically ask for it each time. ---expanded history---- The worst pest control provider we have ever had to use. BEWARE. Our dogs got sick last time they sprayed even when we left them away from the area for the hour (which is what they told us to do) so we asked them for specific time slots and a heads up call before our next service and that quickly became a nightmare. -they treat customers like inconveniences to them. Terrible customer service all around from the office staff to the sales team. The technicians were nice, but they can't do anything without head office involvement so if you tell them you need something to be taken care of they will ask you to send the problem to head office to schedule that separately. - They don't arrive within their "2 hour time window" and even if you call to schedule a time, they don't provide an accurate time. Asked to speak to manager and they don't bother to call back. We had an actual pest issue and we called to have someone come out to take a look and help us figure out what can be done about it. We both have to work from home and are on back to back calls so we blocked time to be able to show the exterminator where the issues were but they had arrived outside the window despite calling and setting a time with their office manager, Renee. We had to ask to reschedule the whole service because we both had important calls we couldn't miss. We asked the technician to reschedule instead we got billed anyways and they said he apparently did the service but we didn't call him out for the routine service, we called him out to resolve a specific issue and for our mosquito treatment we needed him to go to the deck which is only accessible through the interior of the home. So how could he have completed the service without doing that? We tried being as nice as possible with Renee but she had demonstrated some of the worst customer service behaviors (interrupting, getting defensive, citing their "policies" instead of listening and getting pretty sassy in her tone too). Now maybe Renee was having a bad day, but to treat a customer like that when she was trying to tell her about a repetitive issue with the service was not appropriate. -their salesperson on our account was one of the most unprofessional salespeople we have ever had to work with. after asking to cancel several times we were finally put in touch with the sales guy on our account, Davis. At first he was super nice and we decided to stay with Reliant if he could schedule for us instead of head office since they had such poor customer service and they mis-billed us. We had scheduled a time slot and we did not hear the doorbell so ended up missing it. Later we reviewed our ring camera and saw the technician never rang the doorbell. When we asked Davis when someone could come out he said it would be a minimum of a week and that he had "squeezed us in". He acted like we were being really high maintenance for asking for a time slot sooner than a week since again we were calling to solve a specific pest issue and not a routine service. We decided not to post the screenshots of the text conversation out of courtesy, but we felt like the rudeness was unmerited and inappropriate. We ended up canceling and paying $100 plus the mis-billed mosquito treatment just to get away from this service. We are with Berrett pest control now and highly recommend! They are super professional and in the time where Davis was telling me it would be a minimum a week (and then later corrected to Monday), the other service texted me to set up a timeframe the next day and told me they always call when they are 30 mins out. Plus billing was transparent and a breeze. Super amazing customer service and when they arrived the technician was patient as I walked him through the issues we were having. Oh also they are cheaper and allow you to call them whenever you have an issue and they'll be there within 2 days.
