Let me start with saying, that I've had back pain for years! Im only 26 but i cant remember the last time i didn't have back pain. I work at a PT clinic and got worked on occasionally, and did all the exercises that were recommended to do to relieve my pain, and although it would help, the pain would eventually come back. There were nights I couldn't sleep because of the pain! My dad actually started coming to Dr. M first, and kept insisting I go because he's felt such relief since seeing him. I was very skeptical, being I'm from a PT background and chiropractors are very taboo to us. The pain became intolerable and so I agreed to give it a try. SO glad I did! Even just from the first visit, i felt relief like i hadn't in sooo long. I felt like i went from 0-100 in regards to how good i felt. I still got a few tweaks left to fix, but my pain/discomfort is NOWHERE near as bad as it used to be. I've been coming for about a month and have seen great improvements. Dr. M is super patient and amicable and listens to ever concern, and every pain and tries his best to fix it. Always makes sure nothing is hurting before i leave. I had visited Dr. Mahbod's office about 2 months with severe back pain in my upper and lower back on my entire right side. The pain would sometimes shoot down my right arm and leg as well. It was so intense I couldn't take a deep breathe. Before meeting Dr. Mahbod, that was going on for about 18 months. At the age of 13, I had a full spinal fusion surgery with stainless steel rods to correct a severe case of scoliosis. I had two curves; one at the top and one at the bottom ("S" curve). As I got older, every day activities became harder and harder. The back pain become something I got used to. But as of late, about 2 years ago, the pain has really gotten worse. I would visit chiropractors around the city and none of them would want to touch me out of fear of hurting the metal around my spine. They would use the stimulators, and heating ointments, but they would never perform an actual adjustment; which is what I needed. It wasn't until meeting Dr. Mahbod that I met a doctor who wasn't afraid, and knew EXACTLY what to do. Our first meeting we had a long conversation about my history and what pain I experience regularly. He did a routine check to see my flexibility and test levels of pain in certain areas. I showed him how I couldn't take a deep breath, nor could I look to the right far at all. Lifting my right arm would cause a shooting pain down my side into my right leg. He asked me to lay down, which is usually how all the past chiropractor appointments began. He used a few different stimulators on me, which always help with the pain immediately. And just as I thought he was going to give me the speech of how he "doesn't feel comfortable doing an adjustment", he asked me to sit up and he began a FULL adjustment. I have been seeing Dr. Mahbod for about 2 months now and I have almost a full range of motion in my neck. Little to NO pain in my back. And I can BREATHE. To say that Dr. Mahbod has changed my life would be an understatement. I can only hope someone reads this review who had the doubts I did that I would never find anyone that could help. Had a pain in my back shoulder blade but nothing I couldn't handle until Monday morning 2am I turned way to fast and caused a muscle spasm that left me basically in pain whenever I turned to my right and it was pain coming from my neck to my shoulder. Searching for chiropractors was difficult because you want to be able to get the best without emptying your wallet. Dr.Mehrdad took me in the same day in the morning hours before I had to work and instantly saw my posture was off and I was favoring one side . He adjusted my back with a machine and his techniques and I got up feeling a lot better even though I was still in pain I had more movement then I had the whole morning . He doesn't bullshit either he told me exactly how it was going to be the next day until my next appointment on Wednesday and felt better the coming days that almost felt obliged to not come in because I was getting better but it's better safe then sorry. I am writing this review because I have been lucky enough to find Dr. M and I hope others do the same! I was referred to him as he took over my existing chiropractors practice and though I was initially concerned there would be deficit in quality I quickly realized I would actually be in better care than with my previous doctor.....and he was pretty incredible too! I suffer with a condition called Spondylolysthesis which is excruciatingly painful but after seeing Dr. M regularly I consider my improved state to be somewhat of a miracle! I originally thought I was going to need surgery just to simply walk around and function without pain but Dr. M has patiently gotten me back in working order allowing me to avoid any invasive or costly procedures. Besides having a wonderful manner, he genuinely wants you to leave his office feeling pain relief and he takes surprising amounts of time to address every single concern you may have. He has introduced adjustments and treatments to me that I had not utilized up until this point and I am truly thankful for his skill and effectiveness. I have actually joked with him about this many times, but I believe he is a healer. Along with skill, technique and expertise I think he has an added intuition about physiology that makes his work extraordinary and I'm so glad I'm in his care.
