    Roast Beef Sandwich & Flatbread
    Matt J.

Excited to see this new spot pop up in the area. It was apparent that they took their time perfecting the space and the menu. The service was great and staff was very friendly despite it being their opening week. We waited approximately 20 minutes to be seated and ordered lattes while we waited (which were great). My wife and I loved the food. We had the sandwich of the day and the flatbread along with a side of whipped feta. The sandwich of the day had roast beef, pepperoncinis and Dijon mustard. It was probably one of the best roast beef sandwiches I've ever had. The flatbread and whipped feta were equally as great. We are excited to return and try other menu items.

Avocado Toast was so delicious. Service was awesome, the young lady attend to us was so friendly, ambiance is so perfect.

The food was delectable, and the staff were very quaint and polite. I absolutely adored the decor as well. I will be coming here often. I was visiting with my friends and forgot to photograph my food, but I did get a shot of this little stud.

Excellent little Sunday breakfast for the family at Relish. Very nice ambiance and customer service. The staff is very friendly. All of the food was great, especially the house made scones. This might have just became our main Sunday spot. Right in downtown Escalon next to a few other great shops. The space is roomie with comfortable seating.

This is a super cute eatery located in the sweet old downtown of Escalon. We ordered a few things. The flat bread with stone fruits and mild goat cheese was sooo good. For that & the good customer service I give 4 stars. however, when it's 100 degrees outside, room temp water is not that appealing as it sits in a cute bottle on the table. I had to ask for ice. The mango black ice tea is good but very weak so I passed. And I'm glad I did when I later noticed it's a whopping $5!! I am not sure I've ever paid $5 for ice tea. For 2 eggs, about 10 fried red potatoes and 2 sausage ( which I don't eat, & nothing was suggested as a substitute, so my friend ate it. and 1 toast or in my case 1 large tortilla at my request, ... a whopping $17. The potatoes and eggs had zero taste. I asked if they had homemade salsa, no. so I asked for hot sauce. They have Tapatio. I had to get something on my eggs, so I ordered Pepper Jack cheese. Still didn't help much:( my original intent was to get the breakfast burrito, but found out it is pre-made in the morning with meat in it. well, I don't eat meat so that was a no for me. My friend ordered the chicken salad and said it was good. so I guess I just ordered wrong. Overall, I would go back and get the flatbread item as I will post pic. I think it's a bit pricey for certain items... I hope this makes it as this is the cutest eatery in Escalon. It's always fun to be somewhere cute & clean. And love the bathroom. **And make sure you make time to visit the kitchen/ home store a few doors down! It is adorable. And the owner is lovely.

Thrilled to have a local spot as unique and charming as Relish. Every meal is thoughtful and delish. We're always welcomed and treated like family. Love that extra attention is spent on details like beautiful fresh flowers on each table and colorful dishes/glassware to enhance the vibe of each meal. Thankful we can get orders to go too. Such a special place we're thankful to have close to home.

This place is so cute! The decorations are very eye pleasing and add to the experience. All the staff are so nice too, they made sure to check on us and update us. It was very busy when we went so it took a little while to get our food but it was so worth the wait, I'd wait like 3 hours for this place! Everything is fresh and delicious. They even box your food for you, it is a great brunch cafe.

We are big supporters of local businesses and even more so when breakfast is included. I'll start off with the food as it's the biggest thing for us. What we ordered: Burrito - Was so good! I liked that they use Yukon potatoes over red, so it's a nicer bite. We added avocado to ours and it was perfect. Breakfast sandwich special- This sandwich was surprisingly really good! And what I mean by surprising, it didn't have the usual sandwich flavor, which i think has to do with the maple aioli. Brown sugar scone- This tasted like cinnamon tasted crunch cereal and I wasn't mad about it. It wasn't overly sweet, which I was thankful for, and was the perfect balance to my latte. Lemon poppyseed muffin- It was surprisingly not as lemony as I'm used to, but it was nice for those who don't like the strong taste of lemon. For example, my husband doesn't care too much for lemon pastries, but did enjoy eating half the muffin. Both the burrito and sandwich came with a salad, which was delicious! The balsamic, feta, strawberries and pickled radishes was definitely a great combination. The service was awesome! Everyone is friendly and kind, you can tell they are wanting their guest to enjoy their food and time while being in the restaurant. The restaurant is so cute! I love the color palette, the furniture and space. It give the feeling of going to an open home with space to be able to see and enjoy without feeling claustrophobic from the amount of unnecessary items. It can get a little noisy, depending on the time of day you're going, but that's pretty common for smaller spaces. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 star rating is due to their coffee. And all of this is said in a personal opinion, others may think differently. I am not a fan of the beans they use, which I know who they are and have tried the coffee before. I think that coffee is "OK" at best as regular drip coffee, and did not like it brewed as espresso due to the flavor it produced. We went to our go-to drinks for first time coffee places. What we ordered: Iced mocha- they use ganache, which is fine, but the chocolate doesn't blend well with the coffee. It needs extra sweetness if that coffee bean is going to be used. Oat vanilla bean latte- the vanilla bean, which is homemade syrup, was the saving grace for the drink. I would to taste it with different coffee as the espresso overpowered the whole drink. I would definitely come back! This place is perfect for a date or a girls brunch.

I love trying a different latte flavor every time I visit, but my favorite so far has been the Cookie Butter with macadamia nut syrup, recommended by one of the staff. They always have A++ recommendations and are so friendly. They also make their soft top in house and it's amazing!! The only food menu item I've tried so far has been the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were a little dry, but the gravy was super flavorful and it was a large portion for the price. I really want to try the churro waffle and the mini pancakes! My favorite baked good has been the red velvet macaron and the s'mores macaron decorated as adorable animals. Some local touches that makes this place special: a seating and toy area for littles, a build-your-own bouquet bar, and a super cute apparel stand with embroidered hats, sweaters and other accessories. Parking is easy, and there's cute shops in the area too plus the park across the street. The WiFi is strong enough to work from, although I wish there were a few more power plugs in case the corner spot is taken. It's my favorite place to spend my lunch break or an easy morning!

Mar-Val Food Stores' Escalon location was the closest to where I stayed with dear friends of mine while we were in town for a funeral of one of their family members. We needed some minor provisions (e.g. libations and snacks) just to tide us over for a few days, so this was the most convenient place to grab these items. Founded in 1952 by the brothers Mardee and Val Kidd (Mar-Val) in Lodi, this charming small family-owned country store was concentrated in this part of California's heartland farm country where they avoided the larger corporate supermarket chains and were able to become more integrated into the community. Was I marveled by their slower pace of grocery shopping and local produce!? PURCHASE Five Window Beer Co. Once we were done, the same checkers helped us and wished us a good day. All was easy and stressless - thank you! PARKING (FREE) They had their own sizable lot - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A medium-sized grocery store that basically had all of the same amenities and markings you're familiar with at other larger grocery chains. They carried many of the national brands, but there was a fair-share of I imagined more local brands. The one thing that stood out was just the relaxed feeling I had inside this place; there was no hustle or bustle which I loved. Plenty of natural lighting came through the front windows and doors while bright electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. I didn't notice any TVs while I believe music played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=SeqwzEOZv8uGGlXj3RJ02w ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL I enjoyed the calming charm of Escalon's Mar-Val Food Stores location, and wouldn't have any reservations about shopping here again. Granted, I personally purchased only local craft beer while the rest of my party bought snacks and some premade items. However, everything you needed was sold here, but just at a slower pace and in less quantities. The prices were comparable, the ease of moving around the entire market was a plus (not many customers at this time), and the service was straightforward while I noticed several employees throughout stocking the shelves or working behind the deli counter. And, whenever possible I liked to support small local businesses. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $41.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS
