Food is always pretty good here.... Customer service is good and they have a pretty big menu....

Chorizo & Eggs
Nobuyuki S.

I don't usually go out for breakfast/brunch, but I was going to a church just a few hundred feet away and I have been to Johnny's a couple of times and that other place by the high school. I was greeted after a moment, just after 8:30 when there was only one server working. Two others arrived probably 15 minutes later. It really wasn't much different inside than when it was Johnny's. I even sat at the counter. It feels renewed, not renovated. Having a drink menu at 8:30 in the morning seemed more "Breakfast at Tiffany's" than I considered, even though I knew that they had such a menu. I think I spent too much time thinking about that. I ended up ordering Chorizo & Eggs. That's a first time for me. I was thinking that I spent almost a week in Monterrey, NL, and I couldn't remember anything I ate. The hotel restaurant had Spanish food, and that was 1977. With a name like Querencia (hangout/haunt), I had to try a Mexican breakfast. When the food arrived, she told me that the tortillas would take an extra moment. I asked something silly: "is there a special way to eat the meal?", especially since everything comes with tortillas. She was kind and helpful. The Chorizo & Eggs didn't look as appetizing as I expected it would. The good thing was that it was more like grandma cooked than having a chef. Tell me that you don't like grandma's cooking more. Come on. With the orange juice, it was about $28 and 22% tip put it over $34. The servers all seemed very friendly, and the food was good.

Guava mimosa

My friend invited me to breakfast and chose this place she loves it. The service was great. Looked clean and inviting. I got the guava mimosa it was cool. I also got the red and green chilaquiles I honestly preferred the red over the green. I like that they add chorizo to the bottom. The chicken I added was a little dry. My friend ordered the suiza enchiladas they were yummy and came with rice and beans.

Came here with my sister and our boyfriends. The restaurant was packed, but we got in right away. The decor and overall vibes are amazing, but we unfortunately had very slow service. We had to ask/order our coffee 3 times and one of us didn't even get it until we were done eating. Aside from that, the staff were very nice and the food tasted great. I'd like to try this spot again and give the service another chance.

Bacon & Egg Tacos

Lots of parking available and okay service. There were only two servers working this day so they had their hands tied. My friend and I took a minute to order because we hadn't seen each other in a while. The sever approached us about 4 times asking if we were ready before we finally looked at the menus to order. The server was patient and friendly. Towards the end of our experience it started to get really hot inside. Food was good but I honestly thought it would have been better based off of some videos I saw online. I ordered the bacon and egg tacos which came with hash browns and two small sides of salsa. I didn't eat much of the tortillas. I had to remind the staff that I was my missing hash browns. Once I received them they were really crispy and delicious! My friend ordered the verde chilaquiles with both chorizo and steak. We had to remind the staff of the missing steak. Drinks were good but you could tell this place is known for their mimosas. Almost every table had one or some type of specialty drink on their table. Super cute presentation!

I came back to finally try the Shrimp Miche!! It was so delicious and I can't wait to come back for it with friends. Service was great as usual but I hope they add another server soon because they get really busy early. It also looked like they added extra decor for cinco de mayo yesterday so they keep up with the ambiance. Another employee mentioned they will soon add outdoor seating in the future. My server was the same lady from 2 weeks ago and they remember me because of the Shrimp Miche ...I tipped her exceptionally well this time around in cash this time so hopefully that makes up for last time. I sat at the counter table near the kitchen so I was able to see them prepare some of the dishes which made me think of coming back to try something else!! Another table had kids and they ordered juice and saw the juice machine squeezing the kids oj juice. The cups were cute with sippy spouts so helpful rather than straws. Speaking of straws, I was sitting next to some and noticed they were heart shaped. I grabbed one to drink my Shrimp Miche

Pozole Verde

A cute little mexican brunch spot, nice atmosphere, freindly staff, and amazing pozole! Absolutely the best pozole I've had, especially in Manteca!

This is one of my favorite spots in Manteca to have Brunch after Church. It is family owned and ran and holy smokes the food will make you praise the Lord a second time in the morning! Their is something I have been doing lately as a reviewer. Not eating the same dish twice. That way I have more items to review and I try to take pictures when I can so you can see the food that I eat. When when I get here, I get so caught up in excitement just to eat I forget but this time I got some for you. I have had their skillet, eggs, omelet, chilaquilas and I know that may be spelled wrong but you know what I meant. This time I had the Taco Salad it was the first time I ventured into the non breakfast foods. Breakfast is always a 10 this was a 9.5 only because I expected tortilla slivers on top instead of American croutons and more salsa and maybe a spicy avocado drizzle as an added flavor boost. But those are all personal preferences like salt or pepper ya know! Hands down this place has a Sunday Vibe that fits all generations, all people and whatever you are doing on a Sunday be it after Church or before the game. Give it a try but be ready to go back again and again! Oh and ask for Alize and tell her Malinda your Yelp reviewer Sent you!

This is literally a hidden gem in manteca! The food was good, flavorful. Good portion sizes, good coffeeee. Great service, great lowkey restaurant.

Today it was our first time visiting this cute spot for lunch. The food was excellent and the service was great. The diner is clean and modern. I had cafe de la olla chilaquiles with green salsa and steak. My dad ordered the grilled chicken burger with onions and iced tea. Ricky was our server, he was kind and made the suggestion for my order. We will be back.

Biscuits & Gravy Breakfast

This was my first time here since it's been Querencia and it was very yummy! Our server was super nice and attentive. My 3.5 year old daughter was there asking lots of questions and she was being very sweet to her. The portions are giant, my mil and her mom shared a meal and I took half of mine home. I love the biscuit to gravy ratio for my meal, and it was packed with flavor but both of our meals were cold. That is the only complaint that I have. I would definitely come again.

This quaint place has only been open for a short space, and the ambiance is electric! Staff is gleeful and on time with food! Pleasantly surprised by the decor and the food was quite delicious! Thanks Andrea!

Cheeseburger and Chicken Avocado Club
Evelyn L.

I've came into Querencia twice. First time was right after they opened and we had their Chilaquiles and they were good but spicier with each bite so it was hard to enjoy. You could tell they were super busy but doing their best to service everyone. We decided to give it another shot. We arrived and one of the waitresses told us if we could wait in the front entrance to give her time to clean up a table. We could visibly see 3 tables that had not been cleared yet. Another lady ended up saying excuse me to signal us it was ready and just slapped the menus on the table and walked away. Not a great start to the second time there. The cheeseburger wasn't very good. The patty had no flavor and it was definitely very basic. Barely any sauce added to it as well. The Chicken Avocado was good but the fries also needed to be cooked longer. They were still a little hard and not as warm. Needed to be crispier. They were also bland. As we sat waiting for our food another set of customers came in and had to wait for a table to be cleaned again. The photo of the main dining area is how it was the entire time we were there. I think they definitely needed a bus boy or someone helping them clean the tables so it didn't look so messy the entire time we were there. It's not a great look. We barely even got checked on or greeted well either. Seemed like the employees were tired and fed up unfortunately. Will not be coming back and do not recommend this spot. There is a lot of other cute brunch spots that go the extra mile for the experience.

Everything is fresh, wholesome, and intentionally made. You can tell they care about the food they're serving and the people they're serving it to. For the longest time, I couldn't stop ordering the turkey pesto sandwich because it was that good. Once I finally started trying other menu items, I realized it wasn't just one great sandwich. Everything I've had has been delicious. The coffee and tea are exceptional as well. Manteca is so lucky to have a place like Bean & Leaf. Given the multitude of licenses at stake in such enterprises, I wish to share my recent experience at this location. This morning, my husband and I visited, and we were somewhat disappointed with the quality of our orders. He ordered a vanilla latte with oat milk, while I ordered an oat milk latte with an extra shot of espresso at a temperature of 200 degrees. He also selected a ham, cheese, and egg croissant, and I opted for a bacon and cheese croissant. Regrettably, the items did not meet our expectations. The beverages lacked the desired strength; although the temperature was correct, I was informed after placing our order that they were out of oat milk and had to substitute it with almond milk. Given that we had already paid approximately $30, this was quite disappointing. Despite these concerns, we did not request a discount or refund, and we accepted the substitution that was communicated to us approximately 10 to 15 minutes after placing our order. On a positive note, the staff were very courteous, and the establishment was clean. However, I suspect that the items we ordered may not represent the best offerings on their menu. While the service was commendable, there was a notable wait involved. It would have been preferable to have been informed of the oat milk shortage prior to payment, as we might have chosen to leave at that point. Unfortunately, our dissatisfaction led us to seek alternative options, and we subsequently drove to Stockton to visit Peet's Coffee, where we consistently find lattes prepared to our liking. While we may not return to this location, I do not wish to portray it negatively. It is clear that the establishment has potential, yet our experience did not align with our expectations.

It's located in an industrial area and I'm so happy my family asked to have Italian for this dinner. Julia was our server and was awesome! I appreciated her patience, suggestions, her attention to detail and sense of humor. Service as a whole was top tier here. We got there just in time before their dinner rush. After we ordered the dining room, bar and patio filled up. I had a Cali Squeeze blood orange brew on tap. It was perfectly chilled and perfect on this hot day. We ordered a meatball sub as an appetizer. Oh my goodness, this a must if you are a meatball fan. It was perfect and marinara didn't give me instant heartburn. For entrées our kids ordered chicken alfredo, hubby ordered their Tuscan Siena special and I had to try their steak sandwich. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. My steak sandwich had a lot of meat in it, but it was a little dry for my liking. The bread was dry, no condiments, just some onions. We took the leftovers back to our hotel and I picked the steak out and had it with some mustard as a snack. That was more satisfying. We did help our kids eat their chicken alfredo and I enjoyed it with some extra pepper. Next time I'm in Manteca, I will be back for a meatball sub and their fries. I'm so sad I didn't come back for another one and a cold one before leaving, but we'llbe back. This cozy local gem is family friendly, serve great Italian food and their prices are fair. I highly recommend and I look forward to returning. Thank you Julia for your hospitality and great service.

I'll comment on the taste in a bit but I want to first highlight something I've never experienced. In all my work-from-home years I've never once had to-go experience where the dishes looked like they'd been plated for table service at the restaurant. Sure some stuff shifted in the Dasher's car but it honestly blew me away. Even the drink was carefully wrapped and put in a little box to ensure it wouldn't leak everywhere. As for the important bit, the taste, man... I have had so many amazing Thai meals at places in the bay area and honestly just assumed the most Modesto would get is some great Banh Mi spots. Obviously I haven't had the chance to try the whole menu but my go-to, Tom Kha, this is the best Thai coconut soup I've ever had! The Pad Thai is as good if not better than what I've had in San Francisco as well. I'm really looking forward to bringing friends and family here to check it out in person! Side note... yes, it's also very expensive ordering via Doordash with their added fees but it's 2026 and it's California. So far my multiple orders have been well worth the price and I expect the same experience in person! (just, you know, without the extra Doordash fee nonsense)

Portion size was very generous and broth was tasty. Noodles were cooked well too, and I liked the filling of the wonton. We also got the curry ramen with katsu chicken. The chicken was sooo crispy, it was one of my favorite items. The bacon kimchi flavor had a nice spicy kick to it. The beef chili oil noodles was tasty and I liked the small beef bits. The bang bang chicken had the same sauce as the bang bang shrimp, but I liked how the entree came with rice too. The philly cheesesteak eggrolls were super crispy, and if you're a cheese lover, you need to try this!
