I had them do a rebuild on my transmission along with a shift kit, a billet torque convertor. They also installed some performance parts like a deep sump pane external filter and modified the cross member. Initially, I was happy with the work. The transmission worked great, but there was always a noise under the truck I could place. It turned out to be the transfer case click and clacking whenever the trick shifted. There was a small amount of transmission fluid loss, but I couldn't find the source. So when it really started to leak badly, I called them. I asked if they could look at the truck and was told it's out of warranty. By the way, I've only driven the truck about a 1kmiles. The repair bill was 9thousand dollars when they did the repair job. Now, they don't even want to look at it to see why it was leaking. So here we are. I removed the transfer case myself and found their shotty installation work. These guys didn't even use the seal ( A 12 DOLLAR SEAL ) and some proper installation. Like torturing the nuts down, and I would have never had to leave this review. I also had to replace the transmission adapter flange it was destroyed by the back and forth of the t case movement. All I asked was if they would check it out and advise on the leak repair. I probably would have just had them do the work and paid what they asked. But if I have to check it myself and do the repair because of poor workmanship, I will let people know. Thanks. read more

I started coming here when they were on Arrow and White in 1985. I had a 1975 Chevrolet 1/2 ton wheel drive pickup with a heavy duty 4 speed manual transmission and separate transfer case. I went to another shop on foothill first where they told me 4 grand for the transmission and then they said that the transfer case was worn out it would be an additional 2 grand ( I pulled them myself ) that wasn't including removal and install. I started looking for another shop. I called Remac and they sounded very knowledgeable so I went over there for a quote. They told me they would check it all out and give me quote. I received a call they said there was nothing wrong with the transfer case just put it back in the truck and the transmission would be about 650.00 (keep in mind this price was 32 years ago no install or removal). I put the transmission and transfer case back in. Ive been a loyal customer ever since they base there business on honesty and doing a good job. We just had them rebuild the rear differential. great pricing works great. troubleshoot and repair in an ect transmission. Helping me while I was in another state having crazy 4 wheel drive issues. And over the years several stick shift rebuilds. And a few times one test ride and they tell me its not the transmission its something else. I wish all garages were this honest. I'm always confident there quote is good and they are experts. There is usually a race car on the rack, If they trust them you should too. I had an excellent experience with Remac. I couldn't recommend them more to a anyone looking for an honest professional mechanic shop. When my transmission light came on in my 08 F-150 I started to panic! A little background on my truck: I bought it pre owned and soon found out that it had a faulty transmission, and the warranty from where I bought it would only allow a rebuilt transmission to be installed. I had the dealer do the work and was surprised to find out quickly that it wasn't installed correctly and had many problems! I had to pay many costly deductibles and it wasn't even done correctly!! Finally after two costly inefficient visits with the dealer and one year later, the tranny light comes on again. Took my car in for transmission work. They rebuilt the whole transmission and reinstalled it. After I got my car back, it has made a terrible creeking sound on the front end drivers suspension. I took it back to them and was told that was normal. I explained that it wasn't there before, therefor it's not normal. I was then told there was nothing they could do. I tried to diagnose the issue thinking maybe it was the struts. So I replaced those and it was still doing it. But while I was replacing the struts, I noticed several nuts on the undercarriage and in the rack and pinion that were lose. My transmission works fine but I'm not satisfied at all with their shotty installation. read more

Once again Remac comes threw. Had a delayed 2-3 shift on my 97 Mercury Grand Marquis. After some research I found it's a common problem with the accumulator piston. Took it to Leo. He drove it. My problem was very intermittent but also a known issue. Leo recommended replacing the piston along with the shift valves. Did all that and now the transmission works better then ever. Instead of just recommending a expensive rebuild they fixed the actual problem. read more
