This place has some of the worst customer service and workmanship I've ever dealt with. The quality of work is terrible. I had to bring my car back TWICE because the transmission was leaking red fluid, which should have never been an issue after a proper repair. On top of that, they somehow broke my tire completely off the car. Because of their mistake, I was forced to provide my own tire and fix it myself, which is beyond unacceptable. No accountability, no urgency, no professionalism. They also didn't realize I live in a neighborhood where association comes- they parked my car like it was nothing in two spots. they also threw my belongings on my front porch. Communication was awful the entire time. Calls and updates were either unclear or nonexistent. I was constantly left guessing what was going on with my car. To make things worse, their tow truck service was just as bad--unreliable and unprofessional, adding even more stress to an already horrible situation. Overall, this place wasted my time, my money, and caused damage that I had to deal with myself. I would never recommend this shop to anyone. I bought a Chevy about two months ago and was given the receipt and warranty for the transmission. I started to have issues with it so I got the vehicle towed to the shop to get checked out. The transmission is still under the year warranty but they said they wouldn't honor it because it wasn't the same owner. This makes absolutely no sense. A warranty should be honored on the car and their work regardless of the owner. I will be taking action in a small claims court as there was never a contact stating this. They just straight up didn't want to do the job which they evidently didn't do correct in the first place. My 2006 Mercury Mountaineer had leaking transmission fluid issue that several shops I have been to recently in the Los Angeles/ Pasadena area failed to redress despite steep charges. Frustrated, I decided to drive farther away (30 miles plus) to Pomona and have Robin check the vehicle out. Foothill Transmission has become our families go to place for car repairs. Harder to find a nicer man than Robin, owner of this establishment. I needed servicing on my 2006 Expedition that was acting suspiciously like it was having transmission error. They were able to determine fairly quickly that it was in reality a spark plug issue causing the car to act like the transmission was slipping at 25 and 50 miles per hour. At the same time they noticed my window washer was not working. Told me the part I needed to purchase. I picked it up and they installed it no extra charge. Even gave me rides back and forth to work. Took a my vehicle in for a transmission rebuild, had to bring it back 2 times for repairs after the rebuild. Lasted maybe 15,000 miles until transmission failed again. I was told transmission was a bad design that's why it failed which is far from the truth. The work done was sub par, I had leaks, loose bolts, missing bolts and also Dents on my vehicle! I would never recommend going here. Wasted money with this shop. read more

Robin the Owner of the business is a class act and provided top notch service. My BMW X-5 was revving and then slamming into gear. I called several other shops and their quote was $5,000 if the transmission would in fact need a rebuild. Robin was awesome: he took my car in, puled the transfer case and transmission, tore the entire transmission down, and then called me with his findings and a quote. Nice, and I fully appreciated his business practices. Half the price of his competitors later and my car is perfect ! He ended up installing a new torque converter, rebuilt valve body, installed all new soft parts and a new bearing. Best part of all, I had an engine oil leak and he fixed that for free. I spent $1,900 on a transmission solenoid. I was charged and the service was not done! Also, the mechanic changed two other parts that were unnecessary. He was dishonest and I took my car back repeatedly over five times. The mechanic use to be trustworthy so Im not sure what happened. Do not take your car here! The mechanic were sloppy. There was no oil in my powersteering and oil cap was left untighten. Hoses were also not changed. I got ripped off! read more

I've been going to Foothill Transmission since 98 or 99 and they have never been dishonest in the work that they've done and they're very reasonable, I have gotten estimates from other places that were almost double so he blew me away I've never had to return anything or have him re-fix anything. I'll buy a new vehicle and have it for 3 or 4 years when it's out of warranty it always needs a clutch or transmission and I know who to go to I live in Highland but I go out of my way to go to Robin's place, i've never expected anything less than excellent service when I go there. read more

This place is amazing. I had my Durango at the dealership and after hearing how much it was going to be I stopped by and talked to Robin and just explained what Dodge was telling me. He explained what he thought was the issue and gave me a quote without actually seeing the vehicle. I went and got my car and brought it to Robin and he told me the issue with my car and explained it to me that finally made sense of what the dealer was trying to fix. He told me the vehicle would be complete the next day and it sure was done by then. I live a block away and knowing that there is a shop that is honest and trustworthy within walking distance is great to know. I wish there was more stars for this place!!! Let me start by saying Foothill Transmission was my 3rd opinion on my car issue. I first went to Glendora Dodge dealership, big mistake and a quote of $1700 possibly more if they find other issues. Then I took it to Goodyear in San Dimas. They tried to tell me $4300 because it had several issues in the transmission. I was crushed. . . I did not have that kind of cash and considered selling my car. I didnt understand. My car is a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee with less than $70,000 miles. I don't go off roading and drive it very little around town. My neighbor told me about Foothill Trans and I thought I would try a 3rd opinion. Robin and Carlos were so nice and told me they would take a look and let me know. Robin called and said max $1100. I had foothill transmission rebuild my turbo 400 trans that was matched to a beast 355 Motor with a supercharger putting down 500hp to the wheels, I had a place called goyos rebuild it before they did and it lasted a month...Foothill rebuilt it and it took me 3 months to blow it up, I took it back and no questions asked, they rebuilt it and it's still running strong. I was driving one day and out of nowhere my forward motion stopped ...and my car which is a Mercedes CL55 AMG. My rpm's kept going up... but the car would not move ....in any direction or gear. My transmission was done. My car had 170,000 miles so it was about due. I spoke to the owner of the company on a Saturday and he said that most likely it was stuff getting sucked up into my transmission filter and he needs to take a look at the car to see what it needs. I was reluctant at first and called around for prices. And the kind of prices I was getting were outrageous. So when I got the quote from foothill transmissions I was a little concerned with how the work would be. So they decided to rebuild my transmission which is a 722.6 automatic 5 speed.. I have to say the only thing that I did not like about the entire experience was that they did not use the Mercedes transmission fluid and the Mercedes filter gasket and 13 pin connector...which I know is very important to use. When I get my car back it feels like it's revving a little bit more coming out of first gear and there is not as much torque. So I'm not sure what that issue is but other than that it shifts beautifully....but with a noticeable loss of torque. The entire rebuild job was done in three days. I recommend anyone that needs to get it rebuild to their transmission to come here...I think the name of the owner is Robin...he is a good guy read more

I met Robin about 8 years ago when I had trouble with my truck.Would not op erate in overdrive. He made the repair in a timely manner at a reasonable cost. later I purchased a 40 ft. toy hauler and had him install a billet torque converter and a new program. Pulled that heavy thing for 5 years with no problem. I recently had erratic/hard shifting problems with my 2006 Mercedes- E 350. He reprogrammed the trans to the latest edition program from MBZ. The thing is shifting like new car for only $300.00. I am very pleased with his work and tell all my friends and now I am telling you. read more
