I was recommended this salon by a friend, so I decided to be adventurous and get a color done for my next visit. The consultation over the phone went well as we discussed my hair might need to be pre lightened, but this was not for sure as they didn't see my natural color. I went in feeling confident I would get the color I wanted. They didn't pre lighten my hair, I didn't know enough about hair to comment about this. I won't say my stylist's name, but she did say she had double booked herself and was working on my hair and someone else's simultaneously. I think this is partly why the process was rushed. Not only did my hair come out an ashy blue, more gray if anything, (I am a natural medium to light blonde) they charged me for BOTH the pre-lightening (which they didn't do!) and the color. My total came out to over $250. Again, I didn't know enough about hair and thought this was normal. Just an expensive disappointment. I cried on my way home because I hated my hair so much. It wasn't until two days later I reached out via email and said that I didn't like my hair did they say they had charged me $120 for a service they didn't even do. This is all they offered to refund me. This would have never have been noticed had I not complained, I would have just been out $120 for a service I didn't get. I first was going to get my hair redone with them, but then I heard their employees talking about me over the phone while making a new appointment. Needless to say I was uncomfortable going back in and canceled that appointment. The blue has all but washed out after one wash and now I have dark gray hair. I do not recommend this salon, all in all an expensive disappointment. Very displeased with my experience and the treatment afterward from the employees (management was kind).

I was pleasantly surprised with the wash portion that was truly like a spa! It's a quiet dark room with calming music playing as they wash your hair and give you a scalp massage. I was also offered a drink when I first walked in! The blowout was efficient and quick - the whole process took less than an hour. As someone who RARELY straightens her curly hair, this blowout has me thinking I need to be doing this more often. If I'm ever back in UT and needing a blowout, I'm coming here!

The salon is nice, but the ceiling drives me nuts. I think that it might actually look nicer with exposed pipes, but the building has sprayed over with like a spray foam. Looks uneven and kind of popcorn ceiling kind of, quite bad. Not many people will probably pay attention to the ceiling, but there are multiple times during a hair appointment that you're looking up. All of my appointments were on weekends and we were either the only people there or just one other stylist and client.

She really listens and will do exactly what you ask for, asking thoughtful follow-up questions to make sure she fully understands what you want. If you're not quite sure what you want, she also has an incredible eye and somehow seems to know what will look best. Most recently, she helped fix layers I had gotten from another stylist that just wouldn't lay right and were uneven. I regretted them immediately, but Sophia took one look and said, "No problem, I know how to fix this." Within 30 minutes I went from feeling depressed about my botched layers to loving my haircut. She's also incredibly pleasant to talk with-- uplifting, positive, and someone you genuinely look forward to seeing. She most recently joined the team at Amber Renee and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a stylist.

I found myself in this predicament and the lady that usually does my hair was booked out several weeks. This left me with a decision-wait for her or take the chance on some place I know nothing about, but could get me in sooner. Since I only needed a trim, I opted to take the chance, and it ended up pretty good. My cut is fine, nothing spectacular. But I left with what I wanted-the dead ends cut off. She even round brushed out my curls and made my otherwise curly hair pretty straight for a few days until I washed it again. However, my experience was a little odd. The girl that cut my hair barely talked to me-I'm used to a little bit of conversation, but she kept to herself other than to clarify how I wanted my hair cut and to explain what she was doing. The facility is also a bit underwhelming. It is dated and not very aesthetically pleasing-old mismatched tile, no pictures on the walls, dirty surfaces. Part of the appeal of a salon and spa is the atmosphere and this one is bare bones. I will give it to them for the price-my cut and style was less than $50 and I was able to book an appointment within 4 days, so I didn't have to wait long.

I showed some pictures of what I wanted and the hairdresser Sara said that she could do that. During the wash, they put conditioner all over my scalp but didn't rinse it out properly. When my hair dried, it felt greasy, and I ended up with dandruff, which I didn't have before. When it came to the bangs, I said I wanted them to reach my eyebrows. Instead of cutting them curly, she stretched the curls and cut at that length, which made them shrink way too short. Now they don't look like bangs at all. The haircut overall feels uneven, and I've had to braid or pin my hair just to feel okay going out. What's frustrating is that my friend also got a haircut here (with a different stylist), and hers came out amazing, which is why I came in the first place. I have attached a picture of what I wanted and what I ended up getting so you can see the comparison. I paid $80 dollars for this haircut and thinking back I shouldn't have paid anything.

Her appointment was confirmed by email. When she arrived, her stylist greeted her with kindness and made her feel very comfortable. She referred to the woman as really sweet. When she arrived, she gave them her hair extensions that she wanted to have put in [which were 30 inches in length , as stated on the package]. At that time, no one told her, up front, what the extra charge would be for the longer length of hair. If, she knew, she would have had the option of telling them to cut it. She sat for 8 hours having her hair done. When she was finished they charged her $400. When they saw her shocked and ready to cry, they took off $50 from the total. She felt totally blindsided. Our daughter thinks that the hairdo is beautiful, but I will not send her back, knowing that it cost nearly DOUBLE what we expected. I gave a 3 because people need to know UP FRONT what they will be charged. For the looks of their product we would give a 5/5. For the business aspect, I would give 1/5.

It's bright it looks nice, etc. The young lady who did my hair also had a very nice demeanor and asked all of the right questions in our consultation. Because she's the nicest person I experienced at that salon I will not be publishing her name (Even though she ruined my hair). That's about where the positives end. Everything else about this salon is incredibly disappointing. This post is really about the salon's response and reaction when one of their stylists ruins a customer's hair. I provided the three images of my own hair immediately after a blonding and color reset I had done in Las Vegas (back home). I explained how important it was to me that we really match exactly what I had in the images. I ended up with my hair in a completely different color family (red brown instead of neutral blonde) and all my color correction ruined. While nice in person, I believe that the "master" stylist doing my hair may have been completely inexperienced and unqualified to actually do the job. Because I chose to go with a "master" stylist this color service cost $395. When we were done, I clearly told her that we are very far off from the initial image that I provided. I told her I would give it about 24 hours to see if I can get a little bit more comfortable in the hair color I ended up with. About a day later, I called the salon in tears because I am very unhappy about my hair. I'm extra unhappy at having paid top dollar to be unhappy about my hair. The girl on the phone had very minimal empathy. The only thing she said was to write down everything into an email and that management would get back to me in 48 hours. So I did. Clearly even more upset than when I started, given the absolute carelessness I received from the front desk. The appropriate response from the salon would have been to get a manager on the phone immediately. I wrote the email. I explained the situation exactly as above, I provided my photos, And I requested solutions. One solution that I offered is that Lunatic Fringe pay for my travel and color correction again in Las Vegas. Remember reader, at this point in the customer service experience, there has been no empathy no apology and no solutions offered. In the meantime, I'm reaching back out to the salon back in Las Vegas to figure out what this would take to fix. I followed up and asked Lunatic Fringe for my formula so that the salon in Las Vegas can tell us what to do to fix it. And then I finally got the response from "management".... Management said That they will no longer engage with me because I am threatening and extorting them. This salon interprets a customer's requests to fix the situation as extortion. Customers should beware. If anything goes wrong with your "high end" (sarcasm) hair service, they will not fix it, they will have no empathy, they will not apologize and in fact, they're going to try to make their customers feel like the bad person in this situation after their customers pay them a ton of money for their mistakes. It is going to cost me time and hundreds of dollars to go back to Las Vegas to have my hair reset, again. I am frustrated and upset both at my time spent, what my hair looks like and the cost. This salon and especially its management should be ashamed of themselves. Hairstylists make mistakes every day, how a salon fixes it is truly what creates a good customer experience.
