Great place for a relaxing time in comfort Texas. The bartenders were awesome and the drinks were great.

I came by here on a Saturday afternoon after driving past it many times. I really loved the idea of…read morea restaurant that I could take my dog to as she's a stage five clinger and likes to go with me most places. I arrived and entered through the doorway indicated you should enter if you have a pet. As this was my first visit, I really appreciated that this was clearly labeled. After walking through the door, I found I was standing in a large yard, with lots of shade, tennis balls, and water bowls. It was clearly a space for dogs. Signs all over the back indicate that it's an off-leash area. So I let my lab off her leash, found a tennis ball and spent a few minutes letter her run. After, I entered through the back and made my way to the bar. The inside was clean and cool, with lots of seating. I made my way to the bar, ordered a beer and some chips and queso. They had a variety of beers available but really just Altstadt products on tap. There were cocktails and mocktails available too. The staff were super friendly and fast with getting my drink and food. As it was slow, the bartender came out back to meet my lab and talk. I really appreciated that they asked for her name. On the food front. I just tried the chips and queso blanco, and paid the extra two dollars for added chorizo. It was great, creamy cheese sauce, smoky, crisp chorizo lardons, and a lot of well salted chips. A great shareable appetizer at 9 bucks that won't break the bank. I ordered a second draft beer and left a tip all under 30 bucks. I will be back to explore this menu further, but really enjoyed the place's ambiance, how friendly the staff was, and the attention that went into making it a fun space for my dog as much as an enjoyable experience for myself. All in all, well done:

We enjoyed the atmosphere - it looks like a house-turned-bar and has so much charm. We were able to place our orders at the bar and one of the bartenders brought it out to us in the backyard. We sipped on our delicious drinks while rocking on the swinging bench outside. We decided to share the volcano ashes and floating petals cocktails. The volcano ashes was a bit too bitter for my taste - if you're someone who wants very little sweetness in your drink, this is the one for you. The floating petals was much more my style - the mix of floral tastes was lovely and it was on the slightly sweeter end, just how I like it! We decided on two sangrias after that which were nicely spiced and absolutely lovely. As it got colder outside we decided to move to one of their side rooms, which has nice furniture and is a bit more private than the main room. The bartenders were very kind and the drinks were delicious! Definitely check this spot out on your next visit to Fredericksburg.
