We went through our insurance company on a damages and they sent out PuroClean for the estimate…read more The estimate overlooked multiple items that needed repair and they had to go back and forth to readjust which delayed the project. After I had sent the the flooring selection they had attempted (possibly an honest oversight) to install lesser quality flooring in a completely different shade that I had sent them. Had I not caught it, it would have been in stalled. I was given multiple assurances that the project would be finished in time so that our tenant would not be homeless. Needless to say that deadline was not met 4 months after the water damage on a project that was not huge. Communication started great until we started to just be told what we wanted to hear without any follow through. I would not recommend working with this company at all.

I carried the sofa out of the apartment a week later and found dried sewage all over the floor beneath it. The company was supposed to come take the couch and it took many days and a not-so-nice conversation with the owner to get the couch removed. I'd never dealt with something like this before and looked to them to help me know what to do...and I learned from my mistakes. Chris blamed his crew and threatened to fire his people in an angry tone on the phone with me - as if it was going to be my fault people would lose their jobs. I went away unhappy that the job was not well done and I was not treated well.

We hired Lon L'Heureux, the owner of 911 Restoration, not for a restoration project specifically,…read morebut for a remodel of our main floor and to build a new laundry room on our 2nd story. Before hiring Lon, we hired a designer to develop detailed plans with CAD drawings of what needed to be done, along with a written detailed scope and all measurements. Lon and crew started the work with phase 1: constructing the new laundry room, building custom cubbies in the mudroom and installing cabinets, and a refresh to our main floor bath, which included the installation of tile. The sub-par framing on the new laundry room led to sub-par dry walling and a shotty pocket door installation. The worst part of this new laundry room is that Lon and crew installed the new dryer vent in the wrong location on the wall. Instead of putting it behind the dryer, it was located behind where a new cabinet needed to be installed. This wasn't caught until the drywall was up and textured. Lon's unsatisfactory recommendation was to cut a hole in the new cabinets to route the venting through. We told him that the cabinet was purchased to store things, not to store venting and that he would need to properly move the vent behind the dryer. We told him it needed to be fixed by the time we got back from vacation in five days to which he agreed. When we returned, the vent appeared to be moved, but where the drywall was patched it seemed odd that he could have correctly moved it. at this point, we were losing trust so my husband tore off the drywall to see what he did. Sure enough, instead of redirecting the rigid vent over, he installed the pliable venting (which is only intended to connect the vent to the dryer outside of the drywall) behind the drywall. Not only is this against code, but he had placed pieces of wood in front of it that constricted it, and screws through the wood, which could have punctured the pliable venting. Even though everything he touched was done very poorly, and I have many other examples, this was the final straw. We didn't feel we could trust him any longer. The bad news is that we had recently given him a payment for the next phase of work. He would not reimburse us. It turned out that with the work we paid him for that wasn't completed, and the work which needed to be redone because it was so poorly or dangerously, he owes us $18k. Lon went quiet on us and has not been willing to engage to reach a resolution.

We had several pieces of tech accessories to dispose of, outdated and mostly not working either. They were taking up space we needed to clear. We took them out to this facility, near several other facilities they operate. Good website with lots of directions and maps and fee scale. It was easy to find, followed directions out there and turned out to be easier than expected, early on a weekday. There is a fee for entering but only $3.00 and it is added to your bill if you have to pay any fees for what you bring in. We took several pieces for which there was a fee but it is very reasonable at $0.59 per pound and they do not weigh any of the accessory cables. Our pile of an old printer, a flat bed scanner and a wireless router came to only 24 pounds. We will be back another time with a few things that need their hard drives erased beforehand and I believe most of these devices are free to recycle. I will also use the Hazardous Household Recycle location again which I have used more frequently in the past for old paints and yard and household chemicals that are outdated, etc. That location is a block north of this one. It's nice to have a local community facility that will responsibly dispose of these objects. They also provide an option for bulk items, like cardboard, block rigid foam, scrap metal etc. A lot of those are free also. I suspect they are pretty busy on Saturdays and they are not open on Sundays. Better than sending this stuff to a landfill and will accommodate things than cannot go out in curbside residential recycling. We have done the curbside for decades, as long as it has existed in Boulder.

I've actually had the pleasure to be on the "green team" at Hanuman Yoga Festival for a couple of years as a volunteer. They educated us in a helpful and encouraging way so we could assist event attendees in properly compost, recycle, and discard with care. Contained within it's substantial walls is CHaRM (Center for Hard-to -recycle materials). Here you can properly hand off anything from a fax machine, to paint, to a yoga mat! The cost is often determined by weight so you can feel good letting go of those challenging items without breaking the bank or feeling bad putting it in the regular garbage. Every interaction I have had at their facility or volunteering under their guidance has been a pleasure. I look forward to doing some spring cleaning and visiting Eco-Cycle with items that aren't quite fit for donation.
