It was... fine. Went for dinner at 5pm on a Thursday. No issue getting a table, the place was near empty. The service was great. (I heard rumor the waitstaff sings, but we heard no singing while there) The food was good. Not great. We had martinis, wine, garlic bread, calamari, Caesar salad, prime rib, creme brulee, and chocolate tartufo. Nothing was bad, and nothing really impressed. It was tasty, but nothing I could say you must try. The cleanliness is questionable. The cirling by a llight fixture in the dining room appeared to have water damage, and the bathroom was pretty gross. Lots of small flies in the bathroom (drain flies?) seemed unsanitary. As the door to the restrooms was open, and the restrooms were sorta near the kitchen, I was happy I didn't end up getting ill. Checked out Remingtons in the Clifton Hill area. We got the 3 course Price Fixe Menu and we did not regret it. It comes with the choice of 3 appetizers, but its really a small sampler plate with 3 small portions of appetizers - not full size. We ordered the Garlic bread clusters, crab cake and Caesar salad and the crab cake stood out with a crispy breading, and fresh crab meat We got the choice of the two mains and which we ordered their famous prime rib and 10 Oz new york steak. The steak was quite good and cooked to my preference, however the prime rib was just alright, not the freshest cut. It also came with coffee and tea and delicious dessert to end off, with its house wine as well. Overall, this was one of the most filling and complete 3 course meals I had and the restaurant's service stood out. Our waitress had a very positive attitude and also a singing performance during a dine in. She sang live for the customers, which made this dining experience memorable. I wish I could give this a 2.5/5 stars, but I don't feel it deserves a full 3 so here we are. The restaurant is a weird mix of dated and modern. The decor has some modern feel, but also has some 90s vibes. We visited this venue for dinner, and left feeling pretty meh. We got the garlic bread starter, the burger, and prime rib sandwich. While there were some elements that were delicious, we felt the food was just "fine." The garlic bread was basic bread with lots of garlic butter and melted cheese on top. My burger had a basic, grocery store bun and the burger patty had some strange flavor (so I only ate half). My husband's prime rib sandwich came with a horseradish mayo and au jus to dip it in, but there wasn't much other flavor. We came here to celebrate a huge anniversary on a cold, rainy night but the cozy inside took all the chill away. We planned to order anything without hesitation! We certainly feasted with salads, clams, shrimp, oysters, filet mignon, enormous fish sandwich, and lobster tails! We wandered into this place towards the end of the night, close to closing, and we were offered two menus, one with specials and the other with their regular items. We opted for the specials and had dinner for two, which included three appetizers and your meal with a choice of steak and a few other options. The appetizers were great, but the steak wasn't the best. It was cooked to the temperature I preferred, but the steak didn't taste almost as if the meat was pre-frozen and thawed, as the steak in the middle had a very light pink color, which usually indicates the meat was previously frozen which is sometimes ok but when it comes out to almost 80$ per person you Dont expect to get that poor of a quality the veg was ok the mashed were ok kind of grainy they also offered free dessert with the meal but it was just a frozen ball of ice cream read more

The cheese bread was a one time carb treat, shared amonstvthe three of us. The steaks were quite good, with the New York offering a smokiy flavour and cooked quite nicely. The fillet mignon was also a nice cut. The potato and veg were standard and overall a nice meal. What adds a nice touch was a few servers singing between tables ala karaoke style. Appetizer were good and although they give you 3 of them between 2 people they were small, small portions. No buns or bread (didn't realize until we left!) Really enjoyed the meal I had that evening overall. I had a New York strip steak with garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies (squash, carrots, and green beans). We also ordered a few appetizers to try, including crabcakes, calamari, and a cheesy bread. I'll start with the appetizers first. They were all delicious! The calamari was perfectly crisp the crabcakes or flavorful and the cheesy bread was so cheesy and indulgent. Really enjoyed them all. In terms of the steak, I ordered medium well, and it came out at that perfect temperature. The accompanying garlic mashed potatoes were a great complement to the meal as well. my only real complaint were the vegetables didn't really have much seasoning on them. We stayed at an inn, just nextdoor to the restaurant. And we got a $30 voucher for dinner. That's the reason we made a reservation with them. We had a big lunch that day, so we didn't want to have a big meal at night. We ordered BBQ back rib full rack and it comes with vegetables and choice of potato (baked potato); and Seafood Fettuccine, which was seafood noodles with lobster creamy sauce. We thought it was serving with salad as veggies, but it was fried veggies. During dinner time, one of the beautiful servers was so talented, she walked around and sang different songs. With that menu, You get a three course meal: my wife and I shared three appetizers, and we each get an entree and dessert. For appetizers, we shared calamari, crab cakes and a Caesar salad. Steak quality is not the greatest. Their prime rib is not bad though. We tried this place since it's affiliated with the hotels nearby and received a voucher. Honestly, for similar prices, The Keg is wayyyy better. Ambiance is quite casual for tourists, locals and families in general. Our steaks were cooked medium well instead of medium rare and rare. The server was kind enough to replace our dishes but you wouldn't expect 2/4 meals to be cooked incorrectly and still served. Remingtons is gorgeous. This is where you go to celebrate an anniversary or a birthday, or take a client to close an important deal. The service is top-notch, as you'd expect from such an impressive-looking place. The bruschetta we started with had nicely chewy, but crispy, bread with juicy tomato and a nice balsamic vinegar. The garlic bread had a fresh garlic burst to it, and the bread is fresh. But, you don't get much for your money in either case. Factoring in the exchange rate, the prices aren't bad. A 14 ounce New York Strip was $46, or about $35 American. You get a choice of potato, plus vegetables. The steak was a cut of very high quality beef, perfectly cooked, with a nice crust on the surface. There was a thick band of fat, but what was there was worth the price. I got fries, which were crispy. The green beans and carrots were nice and buttery. A small side of mushrooms set me back $7. Ouch. My wife's mom got a very large bowl of fettuccini with a wonderfully flavorful Alfredo sauce. The chicken was perfectly cooked, which is a rarity in this dish. Beer and wine are fairly priced, but one misstep is the Long Island Iced Tea. It tasted like an iced tea, which is nice, but it was only slightly stronger. It wasn't just one drink, either: we got 3 at the table, and this is apparently how they make them here. This is really a bummer for $14, especially considering how great everything else was. Despite the Long Islands, the total experience here was very good. It's a bit pricier than I'd prefer, but I wouldn't mind coming back again some time. read more

Remington's proved me wrong tonight. The lobster tail is on me, too used to Boston, but it was awful ... don't do it. Finished the last half of my meal without anything to drink. This steakhouse is as impressive for its seafood as it is for its steak and uncommon appetizers, like escargot. They are not afraid to prepare your steak rare, and they don't overdo the seafood. We have never had a bad meal here. Even the ribs are very tasty even if they don't exactly fall off the bone. Nice wine selection, served at the right temperature by a wait staff that knows how to open, present and serve wine. Live music on Saturday nights which includes a roving singer with a microphone who walks throughout this fairly enormous restaurant. Heavy tableware and flatware, cloth napkins commensurate with the fine dining environment and I believe authentic Frederic Remington sculptures throughout the restaurant. Mixed drinks are hit and miss, but if you tell them what's wrong with the first one, subsequent drinks tend to be right on. They have parking rights in the parking garage to the rear. The Lobster Bisque was okay and the seafood medley was excellent. For mains the some options were Lobster tail, Filet Mignon, Prime rib, Striploin. Filet Mignon was one of the best I've ever head cooked perfectly medium. Desserts included Chocolate Caramel Cheesecake, White Chocolate Mousse and Strawberry shortcake.
