Remington is one of the old steak house use to be at this location. Now they are back. I am just trying to get memories back when they were here. Today visit was during 5 minutes before happy hour expire. However they said they cannot honor because by the time we order is already pass the hour. So we still decided to stay and try their main menu. We got the escargot to start. I think is lack of flavor. For the dish, we got the clam chowder. It is a bit sour. The main dish we have the New York steak. The steak comes with two sides. I got the sautéed mushrooms and mixed vegetables. The steak is good size. The temperature also control is good on medium rare. However, the steak has many tendons. Service is good in the beginning. When I first moved to Tampa in 1996, there was a Remington's in this exact spot. After the mid 2000s, it was replaced a couple of times with mediocre Irish bars. I went recently and was surprised to see it returned. In terms of ambience, it is almost halfway between Texas Roadhouse and Longhorn. It's casual but not as raucous. . A party of 4 older women were playing cards in their booth. My server was nice and efficient. I ordered 16 oz Ribeye and 2 sides of mashed potatoes. It took about 15 minutes to come out. It was cooked at a medium level and was melt in your mouth good. The potatoes were handmade and fresh.They have their own mini dish a la Texas Roadhouse. 8/10 They have a relatively streamlined menu. For seafood options, they have salmon,shrimp, fish and chips. I ordered a soda. I'm not sure if they have mixed drinks/cocktails available. Maybe in the future? Parking was no problem since this plaza is not that active. Cons: My only real complaints are nitpicks. The 2 seater tables don't have a lamp overhead and are away from the window so it's a bit dark. The A/C is just sufficient. I wasn't sweating,but I wish it was a little cooler since it was summer. It's a great local steakhouse with a super nice staff and good food. The atmosphere is great and you honestly can't beat the prices. The restaurant is full of regulars and with the prices, I can understand why. If I were to nitpick, I would say the cheese on the French onion soup was not the quality I was hoping. Hope they improve by using real cheese and plenty of it. I'll definitely keep returning as it's great to support a locally steakhouse. read more

Visiting from out of town and found this restaurant through a Google search because it was nearby where we were staying, and a couple of us wanted steak without breaking the bank. It was near the end of night and it wasn't crowded. The server was nice and attentive. 3 of us ordered the NY Strip, and 2 ordered wings. The NY Strip could've been seasoned a little better, but it was cooked perfectly. The wings were tasty and the wedge salad was great according to my friend that ordered it. The food was ok. We needed a place that was open late because we just arrived in town. We Yelped for steak near me. The severs were attentive. It was very quiet when we got there - 2 at the bar and 1 table occupied. We had a steak - they only had the large left (but again it was late), lamb chops, and chicken fajitas. Not as good as I remembered! Disappointed in the amount of tips for the price. Although they were tasty! Mashed potatoes cold but the bowl was hot. You could hear the waitress put them in the microwave. Mac and cheese was yummy as were the mixed veggies! It was raining outside and in spots of the dining room it was also raining. Just left Remington's and wow--everything was on point. The French onion soup was straight up to die for and the filet honestly tops any steak I've had at a fine dining spot in Tampa. We sat at the bar and Gina took care of us all night--she's amazing. Great food, great service, and definitely a vibe. We'll be back for sure. read more

Aside from the steak, everything was subpar. The "chimichurri" was not even close. It resembled more of table oil with a sprinkling of dried herbs. Not even remotely chimi. We stopped here on our way from TPA to The Villages. Totally out of the blue because Chat GPT suggested another place but it ended up being too far from the highway. Wow are we glad we did. Great service comfortable decor friendly atmosphere. You need to order the filet tips sautéed with mushrooms and onions. Amazing. Also fantastic the cheeseburger, mixed vegetables and side salad and the potato skins. We could not believe how good this food was and the price point is excellent and so reasonable for the quality of food you get. Look forward to going back on our next trip to visit fam. read more

Not Good at all and I didn't even eat here.we made reservations and when we arrived 11 minutes early they told us we would have to wait thirty minutes.while we waited three couples cam in and No one acknowledged them they left.then a couple was told it would be a 20 minute wait to be seated and at least 1 hr till they received food after hearing that we left . unfortunately we will never return hire better safe and be prepared for Valentine's Day. read more

Server Jessica was superb. So. We had high hopes for the return of Remingtons, and a steak place close to home. However: Jalepeno poppers appetizer had no flavor. Ordered the larger Ribeye steak becuz they don't offer the smaller option anymore, sadly it was literally half fat so barely the ounces of a smaller portion. We know ribeyes are more marbled. This was over and above that. I left the entire pile on my plate of inedible bits which was a huge pile - they said not one word. Baked potato was so cold it wouldn't even melt the whipped butter. (Of course they replaced it upon request but really??! The butter was already soft but stayed solid on my potato, LOL). There were only 2 tables of patrons, so it wasn't that they were busy. This interior doesn't look any different than in the '90's. Including the dust on top of the "decorative tin roof" with a napkin sitting up there that slid down and left a skid mark in the dirt. Look at the floor under the small wire table for stacking the Games - 1/2 inch of dust that mop isn't finding. Coke products was the best part. Just half-a$$ing it at best. Very dark interior. Escargot atop mushroom was dry, server forgot bread. steak was delicious. Green beans were sour & cold. Onions were not browned & were cold. Baked potatoes were so old they had to be cooked the day before & reheated; brown & yellow inside, not a fluffy white baked potato, also cold. Worst, oldest potato we'd ever been served. Service was very good. The food quality was beyond poor. The loaded baked potatoes were overcooked and hard. We didn't get to eat much of the baked potato because of how hard it was. The steak was so bad. It had little to no flavor and had a texture that was rubbery. It didn't even tastes like a real steak. Even after my husband sent his steak back it was still not cooked properly. He ordered medium and received raw and then when he sent it back it still came back rare. Went early on a Saturday, so got seated right away. Pleasant looking place, not pretentious. Service was fast and cordial. And the food was very good, good selection of steaks, seafood and other entrees. Lots of choices of sides, too. The steaks were cooked just right, well-seasoned and good sized portions. We used to go to this restaurant 20 years ago and it was always busy, so we decided to try it again . The service was good, I just wish the food was too. The filet was not a good cut and the sides did not have a lot of flavor. We ordered the bread service and the bread was very hard. The ambiance was okay but it was very smoky in the restaurant.
