We decided to give The Living Room in Wesley Chapel another chance after our last visit, when the service was very slow. We hoped it was just an off night, but unfortunately, this experience was even more disappointing. The buffalo cauliflower appetizer was undercooked and not enjoyable. My wife's steak arrived cold and had to be sent back--not once, but twice--before it was finally served properly. We are not the type of people who return meals, so having to send a dish back twice says a lot about the quality of the experience. After two disappointing visits, The Living Room has unfortunately made our "do not return" list. It's a shame because we really wanted this to become one of our favorite local restaurants. Came back here again recently. I was a little bummed they got rid of a lot from their menu and their drinks changed, but almost everything we ordered was still good! My friend and I just plot a few apps and had some drinks. The apps we ordered were the buffalo cauliflower bites, a Mediterranean beef on pita which was AMAZING! Poke bites, and crispy pork belly. We could not eat the pork belly, it was soo tough. The poke bits and Mediterranean beef over pita were the best in my opinion. Today we came to the living room for lunch to celebrate a birthday. The atmosphere and ambience is very relaxed and comfortable and beautifully laid out. The staff, and especially our server Dani B were wonderful and very accommodating. We ordered appetizers off of the new menu to start with and a few cocktails. The pimento croquettes with bacon jam. were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. We also ordered the focaccia bread with black garlic whipped ricotta. It was a crowdpleaser for sure. Everybody loved it. Our only slight complaint/suggestion was the portion size of the pimento croquettes. We had a party of five at the table, and the appetizer was only four croquettes. Would have been nice if everybody could have one without having to split them for everybody at the table to have one. It would be nice at the time of ordering appetizers for them to let us know how many came on the plate maybe even offer a slight up charge to add a fifth one or sixth one depending on the size of the party at the table. But that was the only minor disappointment. They were still one of the best appetizers we've had in a while! Everybody decided on the burgers for their meal. A couple ordered the Boujie burger, and the others the lampshade Smashburger with bacon. Hands down one of the best burgers we've had in a while top-notch absolutely delicious. This one took me a while to write because I genuinely wanted to like this place. You know how some spots can swing between hit or miss depending on the night -- this was one of those. It was a Friday, our server was actually good, but the kitchen felt like it was moving in slow motion. At one point she even apologized because they ran out of clean glasses, which tells you the kind of night it was. The food looked better than it tasted -- and that's always a tough thing to swallow, pun fully intended. Ladies night Thursday means a $7 martini and she made a French Blonde I believe. It was very good. They didn't have beers on tap but luckily they had some cans and bottles for my father in law. We each ordered an entree, scallops, shrimp with pasta, and chicken. The chicken was massive and was brought home for leftovers. My mother in law said the scallops could have been seared more on the bottom half and the corn mixture was a bit too salty. My shrimp and pasta dish only came with 4 shrimp but was good. My friend and ai grabbed a quick brunch today at The Living Room. It's been on both of our lists to try in the area. Our server was very attentive and passed the vibe check (his name was Devin but I hope I'm spelling it correctly). Surprisingly the restaurant was not very busy. The soup of the day on this occasion was a cauliflower mushroom truffle. As a soup girly, it was definitely one of the best soups I've had. We visited The Living Room on a Thursday night around 6pm and were pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was. We were seated right away with no wait at all. Our server was great... very attentive and checked on us several times without being overbearing. I ordered the steak and wow, it was top notch and absolutely delicious. My husband had the burger and loved it. Both meals came with fries, which were pretty decent as far as fries go. My biggest complaint is the drink situation. They didn't have any beers on draft and seemed to be out of a couple of the bottled options on their menu, which was disappointing. Aside from that, the atmosphere was cozy and festive. I had been to the other location and loved it, so I was excited to try this location when I was looking for a nice restaurant to bring my friend to celebrate her birthday. Inside the restaurant was beautiful, and our server was fine, if a bit busy. We ordered some gin cocktails called Cucumber Coasters, which were excellent, if a bit expensive at $17 a pop. Because it was a weekend, they were offering brunch items, so we decided to start with an order of beignets. These, like the drinks, took a surprising amount of time to come out. They were good, even though not up to NOLA standards. The powdered sugar was weirdly solid on some of the beignets, which I've never seen. I loved the blackberry sauce they were served with, though. For my entree I went with the Green Goddess Salad, described as house blend artisan lettuces, crumbled goat cheese, dried cranberry, candied walnut, avocado, shallot, baby heirloom tomato, served with green goddess dressing. Sounds good, right? WRONG! What I was served was a heaping pile of uncut greens, with maybe an ounce of all the other ingredients, all located conveniently UNDER the pile of lettuce. I actually had to put half the greens on a side plate, just so I could try to eat any ingredient other than greens. Thank goodness I paid an extra 6 dollars for tofu so there was actually something to eat in addition to greens - although someone needs to tell the chef that tofu absorbs the flavor of what it is cooked in, so if you add no seasoning, there is zero flavor. I was also a bit disappointed they did nothing to recognize my friend's birthday, even though I mentioned it when making reservations, and also to the server. If I go back, which is a big if, I will get anything other than an overpriced pile of greens. read more

This place was an unexpected great time! I was in town visiting my old high school stomping grounds and I was killing time until my best friend landed. Originally, I went to a different restaurant nearby, but after sitting and waiting for 10 minutes for my server to come over I left and stumbled upon The Living Room!! I'm so glad I did too. It's a really neat decor scheme they have going on inside. There's antique looking portraits hanging all over the place, but my favorite was the lap shade area hanging over the bar. I met a friend here at The Living Room for brunch at her recommendation. I see why she likes it, as it is a beautiful restaurant and part of Wiregrass. It was easy to find and easy to park even with the market going on and it being a Saturday. We each ordered a Mimosa flight with various juice flavors but I was a bit disappointed because they were definitely high on the juice and not as much on the prosecco. Also, the presentation left a lot to be desired glass and garnish wise. I ordered the Rosemary Potato Hash and there was a pile of grease in the dish. Otherwise, the food was tasty. The server was very friendly but I saw him goofing around with his colleagues near the kitchen when I was trying to get his attention to ask for something. Wonderful evening at The Living Room! It was my first time going and I only have great things to say. When you walk in the door the staff is very attentive and the inside is beautifully decorated with pictures, cozy lighting, and a gorgeous bar with a ton of cocktail options. The menu had a lot of gluten free options but please note their prices have gone up from the online prices by a few dollars each. For example, my salad was listed online at $15 and then it was $16.7 when checking the in person menu. Beware they do have a service charge of 20% which is absolutely fine because that is the normal tipping amount nowadays. They are a bit pricey on some items and my friends and I made a comment about how insane it was to be charging almost $40 for a charcuterie board. All in all it was a great experience and highly recommended the green goddess salad, just get it with the lemon poppyseed dressing because the flavor is a lot better than the dressing the salad comes with. read more

Ok, coool cooool cooool, scratch that idea then...don't want to put anyone in a weird position if they emphasized try but couldn't make promises. I settled for buffalo cauliflower, it was okay. Portion was huge. I asked if they had ranch dressing to dip my cauliflower in. They don't carry that....I got a side order of fries which were ok. My bf and I both felt sick after leaving. The yucca things he had left a weird oily film in my mouth. He was sick into the next day, I was belching Cauliflower all night. Not sure if it was the oil they used maybe? Coincidence? Idk Anywho, long story short the sweet tea was good. Buffalo cauliflower was cauliflower. I sadly have z e r o desire to come back. Just was not my jam. I'll start by stating that this is the lowest rating I've given an establishment in a longgggg time. I Tried this place on a random Sunday, because of its perfect location and over all ambiance. Sat myself at the bar outside while I waited for a friend. Only saw one person working the bar which was already concerning seeing it was 1:30 on a Sunday. When I finally was greeted I asked for water with lemon and some menus. Took our waiter 7 min to return with that. When my friend finally came we ordered almost immediately, and was brought the cinnamon roll, but no utensils. We waited another while for that unfortunately and by the time we ate it, it was no longer warm and wasn't as flavorful as I had hoped. The main food was under whelming I didn't even finish my avocado toast because it was unflavored. Our glasses of waters stayed empty, (even after asking passing buss boys), and there was such lack in attention during the meal that we were stuck there over 20 min longer waiting to be checked on, which was never done, and brought our bill. They automatically add 20% gratuity, which I'm totally fine with, IF the service is up to par, it's what I always leave if not more. But it seems like they were either short staffed, poorly trained or just slacked off since they didn't have to work for the tip as much. Updating my prior review based on my latest visit to the bar for drinks only. Ordered four espresso martinis. They are delicious, but smaller than a full size martini so definitely a sipping drink. They were $13 each, but we were upcharged $1.50 for Baileys. Why the upcharge for a basic level liquor? Think they asked us to pick from Baileys and one other I can't remember. Then the main reason that caused me to lower my earlier 4-star rating to 3-star: A forced 20% gratuity regardless of party size or service level. It took the bartender a couple minutes to make four martinis, so a $11.60 service charge or almost $3/drink is extreme. When we were ready to leave it took a long time for the bartender to bring the check and cash out. I had to stand up to get their attention even though the rest of the party had already left five minutes prior. $75 after tax and forced tip for four alcoholic drinks that had maybe five sips each is not a good experience. read more

I enjoyed my girls night out at The Living Room in Wesley Chapel. We had a great waitress who was kind, helpful, and efficient. We went on Ladies Night Thursday, which is 6 pm-close. They offer half off select starters and $7 house cocktails and 5oz Syltbar Prosecco. We enjoyed all of the food items we purchased. Unfortunately, we were so hungry, we didn't capture any pictures of the food. We started with the Buffalo Cauliflower, which was fried to perfection and bursting with flavor. We also had the Crispy Brussel Sprouts that had gorgonzola, pistachio, and a blackberry gastrique. It was excellent and the blackberry gastrique was the perfect sweet drizzle on top. The 48Hr Focaccia Bread + Whipped Feta seemed to be a fan favorite at the table. The bread was so soft and tasty. The whipped feta was the icing on the cake with the herb oil mixed in. For the entrees, we ordered the Roasted Mushroom Chicken (the chicken is HUGE and definitely shareable), Poke Bowl, and pasta with pesto and crispy tofu. Some ordered drinks. There were 4 adults, a toddler and a baby. For a starter, we ordered the monkey bread. This was good. Doughy pieces of bread smothered in cinnamon and a sugary glaze. All of us got a few pieces but this was pretty tiny considering it cost more than my meal. $16. We placed our mains order and then waited. The wait was long. Easily 30-45 mins for food and the place was not packed. A manager walking around asked us how everything was but we said we were still waiting to eat. She chuckled and said it's been a weird day, whatever that means. Once we got the food we were hungry and ready to dig in. My wife and I both ordered breakfast sandwiches. I cut mine in half due to the large size. Then the eggs feel out. I ate half the sandwich with a fork because it didn't hold together and was messy. The mayo was laid on thick, too thick for our liking. My wife's sausage patty in it wasn't even cooked all the way. After waiting so long for food and then it coming out uncooked is disappointing. I didn't even think to check mine so I hope I didn't consume uncooked pork. When I mentioned it to the server he said he would let the chef know and then asked if the bacon on the sandwich hopefully made up for it. Huh? All in all this was ok. The Living Room is located in the heart of the Wiregrass mall and parking is behind the restaurant and you have to walk to the other side to the entrance. Parking lot is small so you might be looking for a bit if there are none. We were greeted and seated upon entry with no reservations and the place was decked out in Christmas decorations and lights and it was absolutely beautiful! Hostess informed us of the automatic 20% gratuity so it doesn't come as a surprise at the end of the bill but this would also be helpful if they posted this at the front instead of when you're seated. We didn't mind but some people might want to know before they're seated. Menu was very light and easy to choose. Our server was great and we had no issues. Standard breakfast: 5/5, marble rye bread was still crisp and toasted when I ate it. Eggs, sausage; bacon and potatoes were absolutely delish. Probably my most favorite brunch ever. I would definitely come back for certain things: Pros: - We came without a reservation at the beginning of brunch and were seated immediately. - The ambiance (in the beginning of brunch). I say the beginning because it got kind of loud as everyone arrived. - The sangria was AMAZING and I would definitely get that again over my husband's mimosa flight. It was HUGE and one drink was enough for the whole meal. - The breakfast chimichangas was DELICIOUS. Filled with chicken and cheese and the hollandaise was amazing. All the potatoes were cooked evenly. - The monkey bread. Boy, I'd just come for that. At first I thought it was kind of small for the price but honestly, it's a shareable size because it's so rich and sweet. The brown sugar on the exterior was perfectly caramelized and crispy. Cons: - My flank steak omelette. The egg was overcooked and dry. The steak was SO chewy. - Mimosa flight. $20 for 4 small glasses and the flavors were just okay and mostly just syrups. Something to be aware of, which they do tell you twice, they have a 20% automatic service fee. This wasn't a problem for us as the service we received was great, but I could see it being a problem if the service is not. All in all, I've been here twice now, my first experience was a dinner and we only liked the appetizers on that visit, so we'd definitely come back for either brunch or a date night of apps and drinks at the bar. read more

Came Here for Brunch/Lunch with a Friend while in the area. The Ambiance Feels like an actual Living Room giving it a very Homey Feel. We Both Ordered Sandwiches which We Enjoyed. Cocktails were just ok - the Bartender was EXTREMELY SLOWWW. We sat the Bar and thought the Service could have been A LOT BETTER. Would Consider going again and seeing if the Service is better with a Different Staff Member. read more
