We live on Lake Wisconsin and can see Remi's from our front step. Convenient location aside, this place is one of the best on the lake. We generally stop by for dinner about once a month, and we are always pleased to see Shayn behind the bar. The menu is a mix of standard Wisconsin bar food and a few unique items like deep-fried green beans. I almost always order the Philly cheese steak, and if you ask nicely, they'll even make it vegetarian (basically sautéed mushrooms, onions, peppers and melted cheese on a bun). I'm not a strict vegetarian, so I can't attest to whether or not they use a separate spot on the grill or anything like that, but they oblige my odd request every time I ask for it. I do hope they add one or two more items to the menu that could be made without meat, but I'll keep going back as long as I can get my mushroom sandwich :) I love sitting at the outdoor bar in the summer, and they have live music almost every weekend during the warm months. The kitchen closes kind of early, but that is also pretty normal for a lot of the bar/restaurants around here. Overall, it's definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. read more

I would give Thirsty Moose 5 starts, but... First, google and other reviews said their hours were 11-2am on Sundays. We called them at 7:40 just to make sure the kitchen would be open (not uncommon for bars to close kitchens early often). I was told the kitchen closed at 8pm so we barely made it. I also wish they had an actual website to look at the menu and all the IPA's they had available because they seemed to have an Interesting variety. Interior was typical, nothing fancy shmancy. Would have given it 5 if those things were in place. Oh, and the extremely loud & foul mouthed local at the bar needed to be kindly cut off and sent home. He had just came in when we did so that's not the Moose's fault. Lol Now for the important stuff: The manager, Shane...was fantastic! When I called he was very kind to say he'd have no problem keeping the kitchen open for a few minutes longer so we could eat. We get there and right away got greeted by a kind waitress. Shane was so friendly and took our orders. The guy has a great personality! We ordered the roasted chicken (more like fried) but it was exceptional. So flavorful and crispy skin. Came with homemade sides. We also got the Ruben and Duck Wantons for the side. The Ruben could have been just a tad more toasted, but it had REAL corned beef. And the Duck Wantons...ugh...don't get me started! As my husband said, he's just glad he doesn't live closer or we'd be packing on a few winter pounds eating those daily! We would totally go back and enjoy some of the frozen lake weekend events Shane told us about. We also liked that he is a family man who spoke highly of his wife & gave up the Chicago rat-race so he could be with family and raise his kids. Yup, I'll support those efforts! read more

I will start by saying that we almost didn't eat here because we could not find the place. There was no sign on the road that we could find and it is kind of off the road a bit behind the boat launch. We thought maybe we missed it but when we left we looked again and couldn't find it. I want you to keep in mind while reading this review that this place is a bar, so we went into it with that mentality and that is what this review will be based on. We got there pretty much when they opened so it was a bit confusing because it looked like they were just getting things fired up. We asked if we could sit outside by the lake and we grabbed a couple menus. Very shortly after sitting down we were greeted by Helen our waitress. Helen was definitely one of the highlights of our visit. So friendly and when she found out we were not from the area she was a wealth of information and we had a very nice visit with her. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak and my wife ordered shrimp and fries. Neither of them were the best we have ever had but they were very good. We got the lobster bisque which was creamy and very flavorful but we didn't have any lobster in it. The atmosphere was pretty much a basic bar but the outside dining was very nice lakeside. We went into this expecting a bar experience and that is what we got, don't expect much from the menu you are going to get what I consider above average bar food. This place is definitely a hidden gem. Driving back from Minneapolis to Milwaukee, we decided to find a non-chain restaurant to catch some lunch between the Dells & Madison. About 5 minutes off of I-94, we are so glad we found Remi's! Located on beautiful Lake Wisconsin, not only is the view great, so is the food, atmosphere & staff. My husband had the steak sandwich (the owner apparently just cut up the steaks that morning). It was done to perfection. I had the boneless wings with the spicy chilly sauce. I love boneless wings and these by far were some of the best I've ever eaten. Our 15-year-old ordered the Mac & cheese bites and was in heaven. I would say my favorite part of our experience was the staff and the amazing service we had. Although we had never been there before, we were treated as though we were regulars. You can tell they take great pride in the food they serve and the service they provide. Because of it all, we will definitely be back, most likely with our friends, to spend a weekend or two taking in the fun winter and summer events they either host or partake in. read more

I got the bull moose burger with lettuce tomato grilled onion, mushroom and green pepper and jalapeños without a bun. The burger was perfectly cooked medium rare and it was possibly the best burger I've ever eaten. The atmosphere is great, perfect view of the lake, service is excellent, everyone was super friendly, excellent beer selection and they were incredibly accommodating of my food sensitivities. I'm new to the area and Thirsty Moose was the only place that was friendly. Around here, if you're not a local, or known by the locals, you would have a better chance getting a date with Katy Perry before getting served. Not the case here. The staff was attentive and kept the drinks coming. I had a Moose Dog to eat. That's a all beef hot dog, with pepers, brisket, and some other stuff I can't remember. We love this place. The bartender/owner is the nicest guy on the planet. You can tell he's really proud of their food and a lot of thought goes into the menu. All of the food is really good. The moose burger is crazy good, loved the brisket. The reuben is honestly one of the best reuben's I've ever had. The fish fry is very good, I'd recommend the cod over the perch which I usually never would. The moose sauce is boss, put it on everything. Good beer selection. They always have sports on. The location is money, right on the lake. They usually have live music on the weekends and there's always something going on. This is a staple of the region. My husband and I stopped on our way to the Dell's. We sat outside and the view was lovely, and serene. The water is gorgeous. The waitress was extremely friendly and welcoming ( thanks Tracy). We shared duck wontons that were really nice and flavorful. My husband thouroughly enjoyed his Korean barbeque soup. It was hearty and super tasty. I had the smoked salmon BLT with sweet potato fries. The portion was hearty, the sandwich was fresh and not soggy. The smoked salmon was a real winner. Waited 10 minutes to be told the bartender would be with us in a minute then waited 5 minutes until someone finally helped. After being helped we we're told there would be no table service and we would have to order at the bar. After finally getting our order in we waited another 20 minutes for food that was okay at best.
