We booked DJ Simon for our wedding on May 27 2018. We started with an initial meeting over webcam and than a few e-mails back and forth locking down genres and tastes in music. I had a large number of Israeli's at my wedding and was initially nervous about the balance between middle eastern, dance, hip hop, etc. Simon did an AMAZING JOB. I wish I could give 6 stars, but I guess I'll settle for 5! DJ Luke was incredible at our wedding. We had a small wedding, only about 60 guests, but Luke kept the dance floor packed the entire night. We had a few specific song requests for him, as well as a small list of music genres we like, but overall we were happy to have Luke do his thing. He was super organized and the reception announcements (including speeches, food, etc.) went flawlessly. A few of our guests made requests and Luke not only graciously played them, but seamlessly worked them into his set. Our guests raved about how great the music was all night and we couldn't agree more. Luke's communication was fantastic. He replied to e-mails quickly any time I had a question and was super organized and helpful during our phone conversation right before the big day. We're SO happy that we chose Luke as our DJ for (one of) the most important nights of our lives. Hands down, I would recommend him to anyone looking to have an amazing time at their wedding. 5 stars does not do justice for our appreciation of DJ Simon Taiga. He deserves a million stars! Our wedding involved many media presentations and Simon seamlessly presented each one. We had one in-depth meeting with him before the big day to go over all the logistics and wow! That's all he needed to make our day perfect. As for the dance part - he had everyone on the dance floor all night! (Even my father who DOES NOT dance got into it!) We have so many wonderful pictures of our friends and family on the dance floor and we have Simon to thank for that. My husband and I hired The Remixologists for our August wedding. I should first say, that our wedding wasn't the typical wedding because we were having two full traditional ceremonies, some of it outside, some of it inside and it lasted from 3-11:30. And with all that said, prior to the wedding, Simon was amazing at getting back to us in a timely manner, at helping us find music for the Hindu ceremony, and on the day of the wedding Simon was great at providing the best music throughout the day and at handling unexpected situations like a cousin wanting to do a 4 minute dance solo during dinner. I can't say enough how awesome The Remixologists are. Every single guest that attended our wedding said they had an AMAZING time. The staff at the venue said they haven't had a wedding like ours in such a long time. I partly think that this is because of the The Remixologists. I didn't sit down once. I took a moment to survey the room during the reception and EVERYONE was dancing even my dad, and I've never seen my dad even tap a toe before. With all the stress there is to planning a wedding, we knew that hiring DJ Taiga and the Remixologists was one HUGE thing we didn't have to worry about. From the Remixologist website that has mixes to get a sense of each DJ's styles to the organized forms and guidebooks where we could communicate all the wedding logistics (e.g. wedding party names, 'must play' vs 'do not play' song list) and get good tips, we knew that the day of with DJ Taiga would be extremely organized and professional. He was extremely responsive throughout the entire planning process, making sure to reconfirm final details. Even when a groomsmen went missing during our introductions for the reception, DJ Taiga changed on the fly and made sure to announce the names without a hitch! And once everyone was on the dance floor, they couldn't leave because of the great set DJ Taiga had put together. Our dads were having so much fun they ended up having a dance off! We had a pretty long 'must play' list and he seamlessly mixed it all in and even added some of his own, where there were plenty of 'oh sh*t' moments and not one song was played too long or short. Even weeks after the wedding, people are still talking about how great the music was. He had such a great pulse on the crowd's energy that at the end of the night we all spontaneously ended in a group hug/dance, singing (more like screaming) to classic jams. In short, the music and DJ Taiga's skills were perfect. We could not recommend DJ Taiga and the Remixologists anymore. They have DJs that specialize in all different styles and have years of experience. Music is a huge part of our lives and we are so grateful that DJ Taiga was able to capture that on our special day. Simon (aka DJ Taiga) far exceeded my husband and my expectations. He was organized, professional, and knew how to transform our wedding into an epic dance party. From day 1, we had a great feeling about him. He was meticulous about knowing the exact pronunciations of everyone's names in the bridal party to prevent any gaffes and made sure we gave him our vision for the big day. Our original plan was to play primarily hip hop/pop from the 90s to current day. We sent him a pretty lengthy list of songs we liked and artists/songs we didn't want played. From there, Simon was able to ascertain our taste and did some really amazing mash-ups of high school favorites with current day hits. While most wedding DJs just play top 40 and Motown, he was able to layer in amazing beats and seamlessly transition out of songs that didn't get the crowd pumping right away. It felt like being at a really great club and not at a wedding, which is totally the vibe we were looking for. Simon was an amazing MC that wasn't at all cheesy and you could tell how experienced he was. He was able to be a little flexible when dinner got a bit delayed and played music for the older folks (Motown, disco, etc.). The party really got started after dinner, and we even ended up extending the wedding by an hour until 1 AM because everyone was having so much fun dancing! Simon was of course very flexible about staying longer even though we were in NYC and he's based in Philly. Several guests have raved about Simon and told me how much they loved the music. Looking back, our favorite memories of the day were dancing and having a great time with our friends and family. Honestly, I can't wait to have another big party someday so that I can hire Simon again! Truly it was the best decision we made. read more

My honest review: When my wife and I were looking for DJ's, we wanted one that we have either experienced or heard was good. We tracked down a few DJs we've experienced at our friends weddings but they were already booked for our date. We then looked at some DJ services around philly and came across very cheap and reasonable prices around 600- 900 dollars. They looked fine but we also have been to some weddings where the DJ completely ruined the wedding because they were awkward or were just really bad with the music selection/transition/gauging the guests vibe. So we ended up holding off on booking a DJ. Time went by and we were cutting it close. We heard of Simon through some friends who told us he was good. We looked at his price quote and it was pretty outside our budget. But time was short and we were "stuck" with Simon but took our friends advice and word he was good. Time up to the wedding he had e-mailed everything he needed to get the wedding running properly. He sent a good amount a reminders (since I was not good at responding right away) to make sure everything was set. He was very professional and easy to work with. The wedding day came and no issues were brought up. Simon was better than what we couldve imagined. Even though we were too busy taking pictures and doing the annoying stuff you had to do at weddings, I remember pausing with my wife and talking about the great music that was playing. Everyone immediately jumped to the dance floor and didn't leave until Simon stopped. Anyone can play music, but I knew Simon was awesome because during the night, he played a song which didn't jive well with the crowd at start and he specifically said " hang with me guys." Not only was Simon able to play the best playlist off of the songs we sent him (like a human pandora station), he was able to gauge the crowd so well that no one left the dance floor. It has been about 2 months since our wedding and my friends have still talked about how great our DJ was. I believe one of my friends even asked for his card while he was playing music. If you want a cheap wedding you can get your $500-1500 DJ or you can even get your friend to download a free DJ app and play your music for free. If you want a wedding that your friends will remember and keep talking about for months, you need to get Simon. He was above our budget but we would've payed double from the experience we received. read more

DJ Colin and The Remixologists was one of the smartest hires we made for our June 2015 wedding at the Basilica Hudson in Hudson, NY. DJ Colin is super calm, smart, and talented. We had some really great prep calls with him to make sure we could tell him what we were looking for, our flow for the day, etc. He was great to work with and is an accomplished DJ. He was able to translate all of this to create an amazing party for us! It is clear that he is super detail-orientated and really knows how to focus on the music with perfect transitioning. I cannot say enough about how amazing it was to work with The Remixologists. From our first contact with them right up through the wedding, it was nothing but smooth sailing and highest quality service. To start, The Remixologists responded to my inquiry email super fast. That gave me the impression they were going to be very attentive and client-focused throughout our interactions with them. Their quote was perfectly within reason and they didn't try to gouge me with travel fees even though my wedding was 6+ hours away from NYC and would require a two night stay. Throughout the planning process, they were just the right amount of needy. Meaning, they pestered us about making song choices only once in a while (enough to remind you, but far from annoying). They even suggested meeting face to face before the wedding to chat in person and get to know each other better. AND they came to OUR apartment! Simon (the DJ we worked with) could not have been a nicer person. All smiles and laughs. Very easy to talk to and work with. Oh, and they're organized. They told us every special event throughout the wedding for which we would need a song (processional, recessional, entrances, cake cutting, first dance, etc). They also didn't miss a beat when I asked them at the last minute to bring up a bunch more gear so we could play music outside as well as inside. OK, so that's all background. That tells you they're good people. But are they good DJs? Unequivocally, yes. Simon's song selection was perfect. He listened to our request to play certain artists, but didn't need us to list out each and every song we liked. His variety was good, and at no point did the party lose momentum. Perhaps the biggest testament to his skills were the words from my friend at the wedding who DJs clubs in NYC (who better to judge the quality). He said Simon was a "technician," flawlessly transitioning from one song to the next. Perfect technique. He said Simon was a better DJ than he was and he was surprised to learn what Simon charged us. He said Simon could easily charge twice as much because of how good he is. Another testament to his skills, numerous guests came up to us after the wedding and asked if we could send them the playlist he put together for the wedding. People LOVED the songs he played and wanted to listen to them over again...what praise! In a word, The Remixologists were perfect. As you will soon (or may have already) found out, there are infinite number of things to worry about when planning and executing a wedding. Do yourself an ENORMOUS favor and book The Remixologists. Ben was extremely friendly and professional when I met him that day. When he got there we realized that I booked him until 10 when the ceremony went until 11:00, but he was flexible enough to stay, which was awesome. Besides a few specific songs for the ceremony I just gave some general guidelines for the music, as I like to leave things to the professionals. Ben did an excellent job and even when my wife asked him to switch it up later in the evening he knocked it out of the park as well. We're writing this review a little late, since our wedding was in August of '16, but we can't say enough about Collin and the Remixologists. From our first meeting with Collin through to the end of our wedding night and even beyond, we couldn't have been happier. Collin did his best to accommodate our requests (there were a TON) and was still able to get some of his own picks in there. We hired Mike to be the DJ at our NJ wedding and all the great things past reviewers have said stands true! He drove from Philly for a preliminary meeting prior to signing any contract since this was important to my parents (that's at least a 1.5 hour drive one way = dedication). The rest of our contact and planning was all done over e-mail and phone. The week of our wedding we had a final call to walk through the final day-of schedule. He was attentive to every last detail and listened to exactly what we wanted. DJ Mike far, far exceeded other DJs we were initially considering simply because of his PROFESSIONALISM behind the scenes and day-of in front of our guests. We highly recommend him and many of our guests complemented us on him after the fact. Day of, he helped keep the night moving through our many speeches so that we'd still have a balanced night of dancing post-dinner. By helping, I mean he delivered wireless mics to upcoming speakers and would quietly speak to them on the side to keep everything on schedule. Here is a long overdue review for The Remixologists and DJ Taiga. First off, full disclosure, I've known DJ Taiga for some time and we're friends. But just because we're friends doesn't mean I would have any issues giving him a negative review if he didn't do anything but an excellent job during our wedding! My wife and I are at the age where everyone we know is getting married, so needless to say we've been to a lot of weddings recently. The one thing in my opinion that makes a great wedding is guests having FUN! Requirements for this? Drinks and great music! At multiple weddings, I've seen DJ's turn a packed dance floor into an empty one and keep them that way because of their music selection. It really did seem they were just up there playing from a play-list and not caring what the crowd was doing. We interviewed multiple DJs and took some recommendations from friends. In the end we decided to trust DJ Taiga for our music needs since he was extremely professional and I've seen him DJ once before at an awesome wedding. Throughout the whole planning process DJ Taiga guided us through everything and gave some excellent suggestions on how things should run. In the end, he was the one vendor who gave us the most confidence that we wouldn't have to worry about during our big day. During the big day I told DJ Taiga the one requirement I had for him tonight is to keep the dance floor packed and he delivered! I saw everyone from kids to the MD's of my office dancing the whole night. When our photographers got enough shots of the party and was packing up their equipment, they asked if they could stay and party. That's a true testament to DJ Taiga's performance when other vendors ask if they can stay and join in on the fun when they are off the clock. In the end even with paying for DJ Taiga's traveling cost (wedding was in LA and he is on the opposite coast), his pricing was competitive with the locally based DJs. My only advice to people planning their own wedding is - DON'T skimp on the music! Just as you wouldn't trust just anybody photographing your big day you shouldn't trust just anybody for your music. I can't believe its been almost two years since our wedding. There were so many wonderful things about our wedding but one thing that made our night stand out was the MUSIC!!!!! The Remixologists were awesome. We were so thankful we found them. From the start, we connected with DJ Mike. He met with us and went through all of our requests. He even gave us a sample CD to help us get an idea of some music. He was super nice and we were impressed with how passionate he was about what he does. During the weeks of preparation leading to the wedding, DJ Mike was very attentive to the details of our night and made great recommendations on song choices. The Remixologists Having a good DJ is important to any wedding, but when you've got an Indian bride and a Catholic groom who are both really picky about their music--and you need to make sure there's something for both families' tastes, plus all enough jams to please all of their friends--it's absolutely crucial. We found The Remixologists by fluke, online. Whe we told them what we needed, they didn't hesiate. Over the course of eight hours, we had a traditional Indian ceremony, a cocktail hour, a Catholic ceremony, and a reception. The ceremonies took place outside in front of a lake, while the reception and cocktails were inside, each at different location. We planned a complex day and we needed someone who could provide a soundtrack that didn't miss a beat. With the Remixologists we got just that. Throughout our entire planning process, DJ Taiga and his team were a joy to work with. They're very organized, fairly priced, and eager without being annoying. Taiga never seemed to mind working with a couple of music fans who had very particular opinions about what should be played on the big day. No heavy rotation of Black Eyed Peas and Beyonce for us. We wanted a bit of hiphop, a bit of indie rock, a bit of 1980s and a bit of a lot other stuff, including a healthy dollop of Indian music. On the occasions, we needed suggestions, he gave us great ones--even the Indian ones, having some music in his large music inventory. Most importantly, Taiga took care to learn the flow of the day. For our wedding, the music wasn't just background. It moved the day forward, transitioned us from event to event and set the tone. The Remixologists' execution was flawless, from taking care of the complicated tech set up to knowing when to play what. Taiga did a great job putting our mishmash of genres and style into a great sequence that got everyone dancing. The last thing anyone wants for their wedding is an empty dance floor, and ours was packed, thanks to the DJ. We should also say that Taiga's a really nice guy and a straight shooter who's a pleasure to work with. We recommend The Remixologists wholeheartedly. read more

We booked the remixologist for our September wedding at an outdoor wedding in NYC and I would have to say we did not get a very good experience with them. My fiance insisted that we go with a higher price DJ saying that we we get a more immersive experience with them. Considering they got great reviews on yelp we decided to go with them... First of all let me all tell you and MC/DJ is a very important part of the wedding. If you have a DJ with little or no experience or have not so good people skills then you are going to be having a more stressful day/evening. On the big day our DJ seemed like he knew what he was doing. He immediately introduced himself to us and seem very assertive and attentive... We had a lot of technical issues that the DJ blamed a cellular company for the interference. It was super annoying. Let me just say that our wedding was outdoors... The main issue was that our microphone kept going on and off with static in-between when our priest spoke and while we were saying our vows. No excuses its the DJ's job to make sure things like this does not happen. They should have tested to make sure things like this does not occur? Besides aren't they suppose to check their equipment to make sure that things like this is not suppose to occur? I could not believe I was paying a premium fee for the Remixologist services. This is somthing you would expect for a 400 dollar DJ... Arghs! and we could barely hear the harpest wouldn't it be prudent to put a microphone on the harpest especially if the venue is outdoors. Double arghs! If you are a business on the upper end of fees rendered then you should deliver. Premium price should equal premium service. I would have given them one star but the ladder part of the wedding was good enough to up their rating. The Remixologist = premium price = amateurish/below standard service. read more

The Remixologists are amazing! I booked them for my wedding at the W Loft in Brooklyn and it was a huge success. We planned our wedding from abroad, but thanks to DJ Taiga and DJ Ben everything ran smoothly. The entire process from the beginning till the end was exceptionally pleasant. We couldn't have asked for a better DJ for our wedding than DJ Taiga. He was responsive and organized, sent us information about how to plan the timeline for the day, and spoke with us over the phone to figure out what types of songs we wanted to play throughout the whole event. I heard from other couples how they gave their DJs some songs but the music that was played was not what they wanted. The thing with DJ Taiga was that he got to know the genre of our tastes and selected music that was even better than what we would have wanted, and he was also able to weave in our must plays as well. The way he mixed and transitioned between songs really kept up the suspense and the dance floor packed. Everyone commented on how amazing the music was and how they couldn't get off the dance floor. There were a few times when I had to break away from dancing just to give DJ Taiga a knowing nod/shout out because his transitioning and song selection was so kick-ass! These guys are awesome. I've been to MANY weddings and the music was the best when Simon of The Remixologists was spinning. The music was carefully chosen for every stage of the wedding. During the dinner, it was classy, elegant, and created a perfect dining room ambience. After all the "formal" activities were done and it was time for dancing, the DJ put on music that got everyone out of their chairs (even the parents!). For those music lovers out there, the DJ beat matched and transitioned the tracks seamlessly. Song after song flowed together in a perfect harmony. Most DJ's I've seen at wedding spin the "top 40" or a list you can search for on your radio station. Not Simon & the Remixologists. These guys had those songs everyone wanted, but also mixed in awesome songs that rewarded music lovers (e.g. think of the best tracks on your favorite artists that don't make it big, but are loved). Anyway, I highly recommend using these guys for any event where you're looking for professional top-notch DJ's. Another cool thing to note is that some of these DJ's are Ivy-league educated so you're getting a highly professional organization that won't pull a no-show. read more

I've known DJ Taiga (Simon) for many years and knew he was a successful club DJ that was venturing into weddings. I was skeptical at first because I knew DJing clubs and DJing weddings were two different animals. But boy was I wrong... my girlfriend at the time (now wife!) and I went to New York for a wedding and the Remixologists were there to guide us thru the night and it was absolutely fantastic (It had to be one of the best weddings I have gone to) We have gone to a lot of weddings and while the music was ok. The DJs we have been exposed to were usually really cheesy, playing music off their iPod or a combination of the two. The Remixologists on the other hand are very different, they gave the wedding a flow and it told a story... A beginning, middle and end with their music (with no pauses might I add!) While we tried to find something similar in the Dallas area, we couldn't find anything like The Remixologists. So we asked Simon if he would DJ/emcee our special night since he was already coming to the wedding with his wife... which he said yes with no hesitation! Even tho we live about 1,500 miles away from each other. Simon made this so easy; he helped us with our wedding song lists and with finding a local Dallas sound/light vendor to supply the sound equipment for the night. He worked with our venue via email to figure out deliveries and equipment setup and he was quick to respond to any of our questions or concerns via phone or email. I met with Simon in person on the day before the wedding day and went over the pronunciation of the wedding party/parents and after that he had everything else handled and he told me to not worry about him or the music but on my wedding vows. When the day came, everything came off without a hitch. Simon emceed the night superbly and he is a true pro at his "Wedding DJ" craft. We still get compliments from our friends and family on how much fun our special day was. I would highly recommend The Remixologists for any wedding or group function! read more

DJ Simon was amazing at our wedding on 10/01/16. He was highly professional and intuitive and provided us with a seamless experience on our wedding night. People literally danced the entire night and many people complimented us on our wedding DJ. He was also very flexible and really an expert in his field.
