Staff is pleasant But, Long Beach has been our fav. It's clean, the nurses are more likely to rotate less at this location so, you develop a nice report with them. Unlike other locations you tend to have a different nurse every time, The young ladies up front are again just the sweetest and they remember your name which is refreshing. It shows you're not just a name in a book with a time slot next to it. I'd give the staff 10 stars if I could.

Because of this, I ended up finding a provider that's cheaper, more comfortable, and just a little better overall. - I tried to cancel an appointment, but their limited office hours made it difficult to reach anyone. When I finally explained that issue, the receptionist became defensive and insisted they call patients the day before appointments. In my case, no call was made. The only reminder I received was a text message sent three hours after the cancellation deadline had already passed, which isn't exactly helpful if the goal is avoiding cancellation fees. When I pointed this out, it felt like she wasn't really listening and said that I'd be charged $25 at my next appointment. I told her there wouldn't be a next appointment, and her response was, "That's fine." In hindsight, there were a few warning signs. The information I received from the receptionist about the procedure differed from what the nurse later told me. They charge for numbing cream (even though they tell you this upfront, it's still an extra charge on top of the procedure). The treatment chair looked like it had retired from a barbershop years ago and wouldn't stay elevated, so I kept slowly reclining backward whether I wanted to or not. To be fair, the nurse was friendly, professional, and genuinely pleasant to work with. No complaints there at all, she got that extra star on this review. (Even the receptionist was great to start off, I don't know why it flipped so quickly). What surprises me is that a business would choose to lose a long-term customer over a $25 fee rather than simply show a little understanding. Thankfully, I ended up finding a different provider, where the experience has been significantly better. The treatments are less expensive, the pain is noticeably lower, and the redness/swelling faded much faster afterward. (For pain comparison, I had to stop three times on an arm piece here and, at the new place I found, I went without stopping once. Initially I was kind of at a loss that I'd have to start over, but if that conversation hadn't happened, I probably would have kept coming here. Instead, I found a place that's a much better fit.

During that visit, they were trying to sell me a different type of laser treatment/package. I did not receive or use that new treatment, yet I am still being charged for services that I am disputing. I have repeatedly asked LaserAway to provide a clear, itemized breakdown showing exactly what treatment they claim I received, the date it was performed, and why I am being charged for it. Instead of resolving the issue, I keep getting sent back and forth. If LaserAway claims I received the new treatment they are charging me for, then I want documentation showing exactly what service was performed and when. I should not have to pay for a treatment I did not receive. I have been trying to resolve this directly, but I am extremely disappointed with the lack of resolution and communication. I will continue disputing these charges and pursuing the appropriate consumer complaint options until I receive clear documentation and this matter is properly addressed.

Both physicians were incredibly thorough and knowledgeable. They took the time to understand my situation, explain my options, and help me determine the best path forward. I was especially grateful for their thoughtful, interdisciplinary approach and their willingness to collaborate to create an integrated treatment plan that worked for me. Unfortunately, the professionalism and compassion demonstrated by the providers were not consistently reflected by some members of the front-office staff. While checking out, I witnessed a staff member speak very rudely to an elderly patient who was understandably confused about why her insurance had not covered her procedure. The staff member repeatedly announced the patient's $800 balance loudly enough for everyone in the area to hear. When the woman asked for an explanation, she was abruptly told to either pay or step aside. The patient had a bandage covering her ear and was also seeking information about the cost of reconstructive ear surgery. She was clearly navigating a vulnerable and stressful situation, yet she was treated with little empathy, patience, or sensitivity. The interaction was uncomfortable to witness and raised serious concerns about professionalism and the respectful handling of patients' private financial information. People come to a medical practice expecting care, compassion, discretion, and dignity--not to be berated, embarrassed, or pushed aside. Front-office staff are an important part of the patient experience, and anyone interacting with patients should be able to do so with patience and respect, particularly when someone is elderly, vulnerable, or confused about complex medical expenses. Dr. Bulengo and Dr. Skupsky provided truly exceptional care, and I remain very grateful to them. I sincerely hope the practice addresses this front-office behavior so that every aspect of the patient experience reflects the same high standard demonstrated by its excellent medical providers.

I have a permanent bump on my forehead from an accident when I was younger, and Rebekah took the time to really understand my facial muscles and determine the technique that would work best for me. I saw Ms. Kelly, NP, in March for a comprehensive skin exam. She appeared to perform a thorough…read moreevaluation and advised that my next full‑body skin check could be scheduled in 1-2 years. Less than a month later, I noticed a suspicious lesion on the sole of my foot--an area I don't typically look at closely. My PCP agreed it looked atypical and recommended that I return to dermatology for further evaluation. I scheduled another appointment with Ms. Kelly in April. After examining the lesion, she told me it appeared to be an atypical acral nevus and recommended either a biopsy that day or a 3‑month follow‑up to monitor for changes. When I received the bill for the second visit, I was surprised and disappointed to find that I owed a balance. Given how soon the second appointment occurred and the nature of the lesion, I believe it was likely present--but overlooked--during the initial comprehensive exam. It was difficult to reconcile a 12-24 month follow‑up from the first visit with a 3 month follow‑up just weeks later. The likelihood that the lesion appeared, grew aggressively, and then stabilized within that brief window seems low to me. I expressed to the clinic that, under these circumstances, I felt the remaining balance should be waived. I spoke with both the billing specialist and the office manager, but they explained that the visit would be billed regardless. I ultimately paid the balance. While the staff and provider were polite and professional, my overall experience was not ideal. I was left with the feeling that the initial comprehensive exam may not have been as thorough as I expected. I fully believe providers should be compensated for their work and recognize that healthcare and insurance systems are complex, but I was not completely satisfied with the care I received at this clinic.
