Nats and Bugs all over the pizza we ordered. This is a $35 pizza ruined due to uncleanliness of hotel.

So far we haven't received anything for a this believe it we complained about the room having mold on the ceiling and they switched us to a room with 100's of nats flies.

I was staying at this hotel for a company meeting 4-7 December. The venue was very good for the company meeting in terms of the facilities and services provided as well as the meals provided to our ~150 staff. The staff at the hotel, especially the front desk staff and the bar were exceptional, as well as the staff who supported our company meeting services and meals. The meals were of high quality for a large group. Also, the hotel has Ruth Chris Steakhouse at the hotel and you certainly can't get much better than walking from your hotel room directly into a Ruth Chris for dinner while never leaving the building and embracing a cold December evening in metro Chicago! THE CHALLENGES/PROBLEMS: What really gave this less than great ratings was the room and the maid services during my stay. During my stay, the maid NEVER cleaned my room, not one time even though I would greet here everyday. She never once came into my room to make the bed, or change the towels, or dump the garbage can or to replenish the coffee service. WHY? Also, the insulation around the windows and the metal window frames meant the area next to the window was freezing cold, even if the heater was on, so, you had to keep the shades drawn as a barrier to the cold radiating from the window and especially the metal framework around the window. Also, who ever designed the updated rooms with new furniture and the new Heater/AC unit did not do an exceptional job. The room is dark, . . . . .very dark, as the sun goes down, even with the lights on. Yes, the darkness is good when you want to sleep, but trying to have light when needed is a challenge. They built a new walled enclosure for the HVAC unit and the door popped open one evening and hit the desk unit. In the photos, you can it is impossible to open the maintenance door to the HVAC enclosure because it hits the desk? My room with the Also, the HVAC enclosure is HUGE and takes up precious space in the small room. So, I question who/why and how did this get reviewed and approved? The bathroom had blue painters tape on the ceiling which may be spots that needed touching up? Also, the shower pipe protruding from the wall was not secure and the plate that is supposed to fit against the wall could not because of how the shower piping was installed. One positive aspect of the bathroom, the shower had new Aveeno shampoo, conditioner and body wash to use. That was fabulous!!

I was in the area for an important business meeting and this could have been a great, short and sweet stay. Could have. The check-in process was great, the front desk employees were very professional and the only reason why this review did not get one star only. My room was very dark with some tacky decor. Unfortunately, it was also not very clean. I found some hair in the bathroom and in my bedsheet as well as some crumbles all over the floor. I had a room which is probably also used as a suite and I could not sleep a wink the entire night because i could hear EVEYRTHING happening in the adjoining room, separated by a paper-thin door. On top of that, the AC was very loud. So, to sum it up: not only are the rooms badly insulated against external noise, they are also cleaned in a very superficial way. Food options are very limited to the lounge (for which you need access) and the bar in front of the reception desk. Their steakhouse only opens in the evening.

Check-in was a bit backed up but the greeter was very attentive and polite. The elevators were noisy which was a little disconcerting, but the room was updated, clean and spacious. Bed is pretty comfortable, and the decor is a bit strange but cute. The TV was large and had plenty of channels accessible. The mini fridge was barely cold, water pressure was lacking, but definitely not deal breakers. Would certainly come back again.

Tacky decor. Clutter in a gloomy room that left me somewhat bewildered.

This hotel is depressing. From the moment you see the tired exterior from afar, then walking into a lobby that lacks any form of welcoming warmth ... don't get your hopes up for a room that is delightful or energizing. The sleeping areas are dark, I mean think several shades of deep gray. From the walls to the furnishings (although the couch was dark green), I am a bit surprised Marriott corporate would test and approve such colors and furnishings. The decor over the bed was a combination of gold painted horns with blackish molding. Yuck. The old popcorn ceiling, ewww. The rest of the decor was cheap clutter - stuff you would find at your local Michael's craft store, perhaps worse. A weird checkerboard, odd chess pieces in a 3-D frame and some latin saying on a board; all amounted to needless clutter. The showers are cramped (although thankfully, no tubs), toilets are old, constantly run and waste water. Why these were not removed when they remodeled is questionable. The light switches are dark and not easy to locate, especially on the nightstands; I had no idea until the second day that the headboard had a light that illuminated the wall. One had to search for the hidden switch. The television needed to be properly programed so ABC is not on FOX and so on; the Netflix link did not work. Did I mention that it would often take four or five times to actually get the television to turn on? IMPORTANT: The hallway noise and constant door slamming is problematic. Signs should be posted for quiet hours at each of the elevators. Especially important when you have travel sports teams coming and going. THE FLOORS IN THE ROOMS NEED TO BE MOPPED after each stay. My socks were filthy, I mean just nasty after just a few hours. Now I know I sound like a grump, but so not the case. Overall, this place is great if you like really dark rooms, clutter, dirty floors and a tiny shower. I'm trying to put a positive spin, but just keeping it real. Instead of a lackluster remodel, they should have completely gutted or torn down the building and start from anew.

The "clean" glass that was provided in my room

First of all, this place is a total disaster from both facility, amenities and customer service (more on this further down in my review). Second, their self-description as "the hotel is a sophisticated AAA Four-Diamond awarded hotel with impeccable service and luxurious accommodations" is a blatant lie and totally misleading. DO NOT stay here. As soon as you enter the revolving door into the lobby you feel like you stepped back a few decades with the yellow, red and blue colored glass. I came in at about 3pm (after I did the mobile check in) and they tell me that my room is not ready. Ok, it happens. I asked "is there another room" and the reply was "sorry, we are sold out for the weekend and all rooms are taken (blatant lie). I asked them how long will it be and they said "we will call housekeeping and let you know". So, I went to one of the couches and worked on my emails waiting for the room to open up (luggage and all; no offer to take my luggage in a holding room etc but I digress). A few minutes later, one of the receptionists came to me and said "my manager found a room for you (I thought they were sold out...) and you can go in now". I thought "fine, luck is on my side" (if I only knew better). They give me a room on the 3rd floor which is against what I have on my profile (high floor in order to avoid having a window staring at HVAC units and the ensuing noise that comes with them if I open up my window) but, again, it's not the end of the world so I did not even complain about that to the receptionist. The receptionist did not even bother asking me whether or not it's my first time here, show me where the elevators are (I was looking for 2-3 minutes as they have two towers), not informing me where the business center or gym is, etc. Terrible welcoming experience. I enter the room and immediately a nauseating smell hits me; it is a nasty soap smell that is so strong and so terrible that I feel like I am going f to vomit. I know that there is no way I am going to be able to stay there but I am thinking "if I crack the window open perhaps I can air it out". I go to the window and guess what am I staring at? Yes, HVAC units right below my window. I try to open the window and it has a metal stop that allows it to open up barely 1 or 2"!!! Terrible. I call the reception desk, I tell them there is no way I can stay in this room and they tell me they will send someone up. Indeed, a few minutes later, someone comes up and she agrees that it is unbearable and agrees that the housekeeping staff should not be using such strong smelling cleaning supplies. To her credit, she came with keys to the room next door (I thought they were sold out) and off we go. The same smell was present but only in the bathroom and way less than the other room so I figured, I am not going to spend any measurable time in the bathroom other than shower and wash up so I will take it. This room did not allow the window to open :( The room was very dated, popcorn ceiling at all, ancient and noisy A/C unit and no refrigerator. I unpacked and placed my personal items on the counter. Of course, every hotel supplies you with 2 glasses for water etc. I looked at the two glasses and notice the glass is not clear. I thought, perhaps, they are scratched. Well, upon n closer inspection, they were dirty! See the pictures I attached. Of course, now, I am beyond disappointed; I have stayed over 65 nights in different hotels in the last 18 months and this is the worst ever! I head downstairs to go to dinner, I take the two glasses with me to show the receptionist: I ask her "are you the manager"? She replies "well, for now I am"... anyway, I show her the glasses and asked "do you think this is acceptable?" Of course, she replied "no, this is terrible". I nod in agreement and she asked "whah room?" I gave her my room number thinking they will be replaced later. Not even "I am so sorry about this"...nothing! I come back several hours later and guess what...no replacement glasses in the room. I laughed and at this point I am not going to even complain. Fast forward to the morning. I turn the TV on, watching a car race and all of a sudden the signal goes out. I switch channels, every channel is out. Ok, time to shut it off and take a shower. I turn on the faucet and 30 seconds later the water is coming out cold. I wait another minute, still no hot water. I call the reception desk wondering what is going on. "Yes we know the hot water and TV are out so we are working on it". I could care less about the TV but the hot water is important as I want to get out of here. She said that it should be ready "soon". I asked what that meant and she reluctantly said "within an hour". Within the hour, the water was coming out lukewarm. So, the bottom line is: this place is a dump, I will never even consider staying here again, avoid it, it's a waste of your money.

    Dirty sheets and comforters. Ew.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel this past weekend and was so disappointed! Our TV and streaming services that were provided with our room did not work the entire weekend. We were told time and time again that the technician was coming to fix it and that the tv's hadn't worked in weeks. We couldn't watch any streaming services and only about 5 good channels worked. We were forced to watch Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives the whole time smh. Unfortunately, our bed linen was dirty and covered in stains (yellow, brown, red, etc). We complained and got our sheets changed the first night and I swear the new set was just as dirty as the last. Who wants to sleep on dirty sheets at a hotel? Ew. With no entertainment provided and dirty sheets, this hotel only offered $30 off of our stay. No extra points, no coupons, no free breakfast or drink from the bar. Just a few apologies and $30 off smh. We patronize this hotel every time we visit the Chicago area, but never again.

I didn't stay here, buy came to the lobby for meetings and sat at the bar area. Ecclectic decor and slightly cramped seating; it can be noisy. I enjoyed the variety of beers on tap and the service was good. The fireplace area is nice and cozy.

I explained how critical it was to keep my breast milk refrigerated, but he showed no urgency, empathy, or willingness to help. His attitude was dismissive, rude, and completely unprofessional. Because of the hotel's failure to honor a request that had been confirmed in advance, my breast milk spoiled. Any parent who pumps knows that breast milk is not only incredibly time-consuming and physically demanding to produce, but it is also irreplaceable. This situation caused unnecessary stress, wasted hours of work, and resulted in my baby losing valuable nutrition. The lack of communication, accountability, and basic customer service is unacceptable. I would not recommend staying at this hotel, especially if you have important medical or childcare-related needs that require staff to follow through on their commitments.

I definitely do not wanna give a 5 star reading to the Indian woman at the front because she was condescending and rude to me and my family. I had come down and waited to talk to her in line. A black man cut me in line, she saw, and she did not say anything about it. I told her that I wanted to get toothpaste, and she told me I had to wait even though I was in line to speak first. This man spoke rudely to my underage son, who is just a child. He picked up the phone and she told him to stop and put the customer who was in front, also told him to stop in a rude way to stop picking up the phone and calling the front desk. I was in complete shock, so I did not realize what was going on and why he was talking to my son in that manner. We buy even more so than the rude customer. The man in front of me I was appalled that the woman at the front desk was not being professional and did not say anything to that man, because I, as a mother, of course, was in shock. She needs to stick up for her patrons. That was at the hotel line. Now, I've booked four different rooms for our family members and we were there for multiple days and I had asked for only six little packets of toothpaste and she practically screamed in shock at how many that was. Even though we were there for multiple days and had multiple rooms. I only needed to get through that morning before I could go to the store to buy more toothpaste. The hotel rooms themselves are pretty good, because they have separate rooms and a full kitchen. But I will never stay here again because of that rude woman. She doesn't care about her customers OBVIOUSLY and screamed about needing "so much" toothpaste when we were 5 families staying here over the course of multiple days. Absolutely ridiculous.

As many pointed out the hotel is very dated and most of it is run down and beat up. The surrounding area is like a forest and a nature preserve looking pond. People in our group saw all kinds of random forest animals when they went back there. Everyone at the front desk were nice and professional and genuinely sincere in helping me and my groups issues get resolved, except for the front desk manager. I forgot her name she is a Latina women with glasses. She was not as friendly and kind as the rest of her front desk team. She was by far the worst one working at the front desk by far. You had to wonder how the hell is she even the front desk manager??? She basically had me repeat all of the long list of issues that we had that the other front desk team members already were in the process of resolving for me causing me further nuisance. She basically did not believe what my story was for some reason and wanted me to prove to her that I was not lying. Like WTF? I was in town for business meetings why would I make up a BS story to try to bother the front desk in the first place? As a Gold HH you get like $18 a day credit so you can use that for food/beverage or the small convenience store behind the front desk. Most of the people in my group used the $18 on waters, oj bottles, chips, gum etc. So the $18 a day credit was pretty cool until like day 3 they ran out of stuff and did not restock anything until our trip was over. I saw others complain about cars getting broken into and car parts getting stolen in the parking lot, I fortunately did not have this problem or felt any concern/danger for that and the parking lot areas, but a few of the days some teenagers came over to hang out at the hotel and tried to swim and hang out in the lobby and other areas of the hotel. I'm not sure if they were actual hotel guests or just some teenagers trying to use the hotel as a hang out spot or what was going on? It would have been nice if security kicked those teenagers out for being loud and a nuisance but it seemed like there was no security really working at all from what I saw? Just a janitor/grounds keeper looking people who were gone once their shifts ended. The coolest part of my stay was probably my room as it had a larger deep soaking jacuzzi tub in it and the jets actually worked rather well like a real jacuzzi. I think had my room not have that I'd probably give this place only 1 or 2 stars then. I did not have problems hearing through the walls because I didn't hear anybody. It is a very nice place that I highly recommend and the staff are very friendly. It is pet friendly, $25 a night and there is a parking place behind there, a private lot for $10 a night which is very fair. I like all the all natural body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and soaps they provide there.

There were lots of kitchenette utensils too. There is a fireplace for synthetic logs, and a working desk that faces a small tv. The bathroom has one sink separated from the toilet and shower/bath by a door. The bathroom could have been larger or had a sliding door because the swing of the door did not leave much space in there. They had complimentary shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. There was a small soap bar and lotion by the sink. I used the hair dryer in multiple occasions, very useful. There is a full sized mirror. There are also two closets for your clothes. No house keeping, except upon request. The complimentary breakfast gets full with people. They had the standard cereals from dispensers (cheerios, shredded wheat, Frosted Flakes). There were prepacked oatmeal too that just needed hot water added. They had gluten free packaged muffins. They also had a make your own waffle station with the mixed batter and hot waffle makers. You could put jelly, peanut butter, syrup or honey on it. On rotation, they sometimes had either a breakfast burrito or sausage with potato bits. They sometimes had scrambled eggs or frittata eggs. They also had souffle eggs. They also had toast, English muffins, and bagels next to a toaster. There was also hot oatmeal available with toppings. They had boiled eggs and a variety of yogurt. I didn't try the soda machine orange juice or apple juice but I had the low fat chocolate and regular milk.

When checking in, the staff gave us a hand written welcome note, and a welcome bag with water and snacks. It was so welcoming after a long day of travel. The room itself was great. We reserved a one bedroom, upstairs loft, and 2 bathroom room. It was nice to have the separate sleeping spaces for our family, and to have two bathrooms. There was a full kitchen as well. They offer complementary breakfast in the main facility. You have to eat there, as they don't have paper plates. It's typical hotel options. Parking: Ample surface parking.
