Not only did Paul give us a fair price but he and his team were very professional, quick and timely. My wife commented that she never saw or heard (due to their singing while they were working) a crew so happy. About a year ago I had a problem with half of the roof over the garage. I had Paul come out and take a look. He assured me he could fix just the problem section. I had someone else come out so I would have 2 bids. He wanted to replace the entire roof over the garage at twice the price that Paul charged me. I have to admit I was a little skeptical. It has now gone through a number of thunderstorms without a single leak! Paul did excellent work and saved me a lot of money. About 10 years, when I moved out of my old home, I had used this company to repaint my entire home and they did an excellent job. On 9/18/20, I called and left a detailed request, with the lady that answered my call, about my need for another entire home painting. As of today, 9/24/20, not even a return call back, much less the quote! Times have changed. Update: I have no missed calls from and not sure what happened. I'm torn on how to review Paul and his company. On one hand he did a great job with our roof, it looks really nice. He knocked it out in one day, ahead of schedule to avoid a weather system that was headed in. He allowed us to pay him when we closed on the house, and he was very personable and friendly. His bid was reasonable. There was one mishap with one of his guys putting a boot through the ceiling and he was on top of it, took care of the damage, and the repair was flawless. After our great experience we decided to use Paul (renaissance) to scrape and re texture the ceilings in our new house, as well as having him subcontract out some electrical stuff. We got bids from the electrician but we couldn't get Paul to get back to us, he was leaving on vacation or something and would give us a bid when he got back, (Monday/Tuesday) nothing... Called him and he promised to have it done Thursday. We never heard from him. I called him one last time Monday and he didn't pick up so I gave up. I'm not going to chase you down to give you thousands of dollars you know? Luckily I ran into an old friend who is married to a contractor, and he is taking care of us, but I hate getting stood up! I hired Renaissance Roofing in 2013 to re-frame, re-deck, and re-roof the roof of my house. After the job was complete, I noticed several issues-- the crew left trash and construction materials on my property and they damaged the soffit on the house. Paul Pansano, owner of Renaissance, met me at my property to do an inspection of the work. During the inspection, Paul seemed agitated. He blurted out, "I'm not used to dealing with women in business. I'm used to dealing with women in more friendly situations." I have no clue why Paul brought up my gender during an inspection of his work. Paul said his crew would come the next day to fix the issues, but they never showed up. A couple days later, I received a call from my realtor who had recommended Renaissance. She said Paul Pansano asked her to call me to ask if I would pay a reduced balance in exchange for him to not have to come back to fix his work. This seemed sketchy and I refused this offer. I later found out that Renaissance did not complete the framing work in our contract and their work violated city of Austin building codes. Our contract stated: "Carpentry- framing. Two ridges on back of house have need to have framing re-done to correct slopes. We cannot re-roof this dwelling in its current condition without this framing work. $2,480." The slope of the main ridge was visibly several inches lower in the center of the ridge than it was at the edges, and Renaissance was hired to fix that. The house was later deemed structurally unsound by the city inspector because of the insufficient framing in the roof. Because of Renaissance's negligence, the roof had to be framed out of sequence, which caused serious damage the new roof (the decking became uneven, the shingles popped off, etc). The entire roof had to be replaced. Pansano offered to replace the roof if I paid him the total amount of the original contract, which included paying him $2,480 for the framing work he didn't even complete! I thought this was unreasonable so I hired another contractor to re-roof the house. I recently filed a BBB complaint against Renaissance Roofing. Pansano responded by saying that the roof did not need any framing work and that his work was approved by another worker. Both of these statements are false. The BBB closed the complaint stating "Closed-- customer not satisfied." The BBB has recently reached out to me saying this complaint was improperly closed and they are escalating the complaint to their arbitration department. I do not recommend Renaissance Roofing for any roof installations or repairs. And if you're a women, you might want to reconsider hiring Renaissance because Paul Pansano isn't "used to dealing" with your kind. read more

I'd like to thank Paul for getting back with me and my husband so promptly after submitting a roof inspection request via Yelp this past Sunday. My husband and I have been house searching for weeks and just came across a foreclosure that we're more than interested in. However, with foreclosures time is not a luxury. We figured if we could get an inspection by Wednesday we'd be doing OK, but instead Paul got out there next day (Monday)! He even contacted us after business hours to discuss the inspection in detail and followed up with pictures. I had a storm blow some roof tiles off the ridge cap in a storm last week. I called Paul, and he was able to get someone out same day to do the work. The roof was only 6-7 years old so I took a pic of the roof, and he sent his man out with the correct roof color. While doing the work they found a couple of other issues which they simply went ahead and took care of. Some roof nails that were sticking out of the roof exposing it to leaks and a water seal at the storm collar that was not sealed. Very good experience, and I do recommend them. read more

Guillermo and his team of painters did a great job on removing the popcorn ceiling, painting walls/ceilings/doors, and installing baseboards and new door hardware throughout our whole house. When he first came for the estimate, Guillermo was on time, very knowledgeable, and was very helpful in finding ways for my husband and me to stay in budget (e.g. painting existing doors instead of buying new ones, etc). He and his team showed up right on time (and early!) every day for over a week until all the work was done. We had to delay the installation of the baseboards until our new floors were installed at least a month later, but right after our new floors got in, I called Paul, the owner, and Guillermo and his guys were at my house in just a couple days. We got bids from a few other national painting companies as well, and although all the bids were pretty close to each other, we felt like we could put more trust in a local company like Renaissance. Paul was responsive to our emails, especially when we had to email back and forth about additional work or change in work that we wanted done. We found Paul Pansano's Renaissance Painting and Roofing through the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce and also by looking at Yelp reviews. He was one of several roofers that had good track records in the community. He climbed up on the roof and looked all over our roof very carefully. He told us the shingles were in good condition and looked like they were only about 4 years old, which matches what the previous homeowner had told us. My mother's house had sustained roofing damage that ended up causing deterioration of a section of the roof and interior water damage. I obtained quotes from multiple roofing companies with high Yelp! ratings. Paul not only provided a very competitive bid, but also a longer warranty on their work than the other companies. They did a very good job on a total reroof, completing the work in a day. Even when they had a problem with the shingle supplier failure to deliver, Paul made sure that his problem did not become our problem. A couple of days later, they came back to replace drywall, retexture and paint to match the existing paint job. Paul's follow up was great, arranging to come by the house to check that everything had been done properly. Even though the interior paint looked MUCH better than before, Paul wasn't satisfied that they'd matched the color closely enough, so arranged for the painter to come back out and reblend the paint job. Now even I can't find the seams between the new area and the existing paintwork, and I know exactly where all work was done. Equally important to me, because I was coordinating the work for my mother, Paul was a great communicator, letting us know what was going on at each stage of the process, eager to answer any questions, and promptly following up on both phone calls and emails. When the massive wind storm swept through in February, we lost some shingles. We had our insurance company came out and they said that since the damage to the roof did not meet our deductible, we were on our own. I called and called and called roofers in Austin and surrounding areas. Out of dozens of phone calls, I had two roofers promise to come out to give us estimates and they never showed. No call, wouldn't call me back. No reason why they no-showed. Then the hail storm came in March and I was scared we were going to get leaks. I called Renaissance and was not hopeful when the woman who answered the phone admitted how slammed they had been. But Paul called later that same evening and set up a time to come give us an estimate the next day. He showed up in the time window he gave us, he told my husband that since they charged by the hour, after they replaced the shingles they would clean up a few very minor problems he found on the roof (sounds like a young man with a nail gun got hyper up there when the roof was replaced before we bought the house). He then set up a time to come out the following Monday. The work actually got done earlier than that on a Friday. I didn't have cash but was able to give Paul my debit card over the phone. He had warned us that though he was going to match the shingles as best he could, you might be able to see the difference between the existing shingles and the new ones. I can't even see where the new shingles are. The job, to my eye, looks seamless. Everyone had warned me about roofers, to make sure I got a reputable company. The all-five stars I saw here on Yelp gave me hope that maybe someone would really come and help us before our minor problem became a major headache. These high ratings are definitely deserved. Excellent customer service, work done before schedule and a very reasonable price, all the more reasonable because it kept my husband off the roof. read more

I called Paul Pasano to get an estimate on my roofing ,painting and wood work inside my home and outside after all the rain we had I notice some of the wood was getting soft and needed repair plus roofing some of the tile was broken fro the golfers who cant seem to know how to play golf but destroy my roofing. I did get a response days later. He said he would come and give me an estimate in what he does the following week. He is a nice guy who is meticulous on his work and takes his time to do a very good job. If you are looking for guys to work on a job fast and quick he isn't for you. I much rather have a great job done than a fast quickie on my wood , painting and tile work. So far he been very good he does incredible work. He is intelligent and knows what he would do to complete the work for you. He is very reasonable moneywise and will save you money, so he is a godsend to me, and if I call the wrong dingdongs I get some con man who I can spot immediately who wants to take me for a wild ride and try to rip me off. I was upfront with him and told him how I had one roofing company tell me that I needed a total roof replacement while an adjuster from my insurance company told me that other than a few shingles that need replacing, the roof itself is fine. I told him how I didn't know who to believe and that I was prepared to fight my insurance if replacement was necessary. We're planning to sell our house soon and needed to update the paint in our living room, kitchen, and stairwell, an upstairs hallway, and seal and cover a water stain on the ceiling in the master bedroom. Our living room has vaulted ceilings that go up to the second floor, and the kitchen had three painted walls and a fourth white wall, with wallpaper border all around (on textured walls, no less - the previous owners had dubious decorating taste) and while I like painting, this wasn't something I was going to be able to do myself. So, I called around and got a bunch of quotes, and ended up going with Renaissance. The price was very reasonable, especially considering the level of effort involved. Paul was able to fit us in that same week. It took the team two days, and I work from home so I was there the whole time. I'm not one to write poor reviews but feel the need to here. We needing ceiling repair and reached out to multiple contractors. Paul was quick to respond and was really nice during the scheduling process, so I went with him even though the price was a little higher. Come the day of repair the person he sent, who was very nice and there's no complaints about him, was unable to complete the repair because of miscommunication between Paul and I. Honest mistake in my opinion and I was open to rescheduling. Paul asked that I call him on the spot which I assumed was to discuss rescheduling but instead he asked me to call him so he could basically verbally assault me. At no time did I ever put any blame on them for the miscommunication but Paul felt the need to use me as a punching bag to relieve some stress he was having that day. Needless to say, we didn't reschedule. It's unfortunate because it sounds like they do good work based on other reviews but Paul could use some emotional intelligence on his part. If he would have gone without making me call him we probably would have simply rescheduled. read more
