    The new vanity in place

This review is long overdue. I have called on Mickey more than once to help me fix some plumbing issues. Let's start with the back story that led me to call Mickey: I reside in a home that was built in 2003 (so its not old but its not new). I am the second owner of this home and the previous owners left many of the builder grade facets in the home when I purchased it. There is nothing wrong with that BUT just like anything else after 15 years upgrades need to be done to meet new codes and for esthetic and efficiency purposes. Round One: 2019- I phoned Mickey because it was taking FOR-EV-ER (said in the Sandlot tone) for my hot water in my master bathroom to heat. I had to run my shower for several minutes before it even got warm. What I discovered was that I may need a circulation pump installed. This is because the distance hot water needs to travel is the reason cold water comes out of a shower/sink first. When the faucet is on, hot water is drawn to the sink through your plumbing. Turning it off stops the water but doesn't return it to the water heater. It stays in the pipes and gets cold. The more piping between the water heater and the faucet, the more cold water there is and the longer it takes to get that hot shower water that I needed. My hot water heater like most folks is in the garage and my master bath is all the way on the opposite side of my home (for reference my home is about 2,600 sq. feet but the water heater is outside of the house in the garage, so... add another 355 sq. feet to the 2,600 to account for the garage space) so the water has to travel a bit to get to my shower and get hot). Accordingly, Mickey put in a recirculating pump in for me. Round Two: Fast forward to 2020, I redid my second bathroom because (a) it was outdated (b) I needed to change the shower tub combo to make it a stand up shower to accommodate my house guest for whom the tub is a problem and (c) I required something easier to clean than the current set-up, which was back breaking labor --bending and scrubbing the low profile bathroom tub. Mickey and his team removed my toilet and vanity and moved the drain in the bathroom and piping to accommodate a stand-up shower. The team then put my toilet and new vanity in as well as replaced my broken closet flange. But wait there's more (said in my infomercial voice)...there was an issue with my hot water AGAIN. Mickey and his crew were able to deduce that the thermostat element on my hot water heater was broken. Mickey and his crew have not only taken care of my issues but have educated me on common household plumbing issues. This crew has done great work for me and are honest, trustworthy and reasonably priced. #supportlocal

I've now had this shower going for about a year, and it's my only new plumbing in the entire house. After 1 year of use, the pressure stopped on just the hot side and just in this section of new pipe. The hot sinks further down the line worked fine. New cartridge didnt work, there was a clog in the new hot line. Called plumbinator and they said they couldn't come look for 2 weeks. My house is on the market and I couldn't wait 2 weeks. 4 other plumbers came in to look within a couple days and it wasnt even their original work. Sure there's a chance something got stuck and had nothing to do with the install, but to not backup your own work in a reasonable time to at least check is not cool.

Replaced two water heaters in the attic And we're prompt and courteous. I now have a wonderful hot water pressure. Will do business with again.

Charged me over $500 to reinstall a toilet. I've had work done before by the company and the costs were considerably lower.

Based on prior experience we called Brandon at Airco to come take a look. We left a key for them and they were out that day. They called w/options--new coils (a few year fix) or a whole new system. We opted for a new system. They had it installed and house cooled down when we returned on Saturday! We were also wanting to move our thermostat but wanted to talk through that. They came back on Monday to take care of moving the thermostat.

Several years ago, Airco installed a 3-ton variable-speed system in a house that had previously had a 2-ton unit (and a history of trouble keeping cool). After about a year of operation, our tenants reported mold in the ducts, high humidity, and a short-cycling unit. Our investigation found that the installer, Stuart, had never pulled a permit for the work. I want to be candid: it took a negative Yelp review to get Airco's attention. Jeremy reached out, recommended we upsize the ductwork, offered a very fair price, and agreed to close out the permits. I'm slow to trust, so I got second and third opinions from other HVAC companies -- they confirmed the system size was correct for the house, and that the ductwork should have been upsized at the original install. My own Manual J calculations agreed with Jeremy's. Notably, Jeremy was the only installer I could find who was actually willing to run a Manual J. He also followed through on pulling permits and getting the city inspection scheduled. Airco worked to schedule the new duct installation during the one week we'd be in town -- during peak season, no less -- and their crew moved fast and stayed professional, which I appreciated given how brutal a Texas attic is this time of year. A few days in, the system is no longer short-cycling, and indoor humidity has dropped to about 63%. Still a touch higher than ideal, but we think we can chase the rest of it down -- possibly window seals, possibly fan settings or duct leakage. I was impressed enough that I also used Airco for a plumbing call this week.

They've got you over a barrel when they come out and start throwing parts. This was an install of a drop in kitchen sink and faucet. He told me his hourly rate was 135 bucks. I was expecting to spend about 400 maybe 500. The final bill was 850. I feel I was overcharged on both the parts and labor. He charged me starting 45 min before he got there but still included a "truck charge." The removal and replace of the sink took 2 hours. To me the "clock" starts on the labor at the agreed upon arrival time. When I'm getting charged 439(!) bucks for parts on top of the sink and faucet itself, that extra charge for labor is quite unwelcome. I mean the sink and faucet itself that were "nice" were like 500 bucks. So almost that again just in parts. ‍ His answer in general as I look at these reviews is that he buys his parts from a plumber supply not Home Depot etc. I would have to research each individual part to see if its price point is "fair". A perusal of solid brass fittings and pvc p traps on the Lowe's site shows the price I paid was about doubled. He acted quite insulted that I wouldn't know just how much better his parts were and implied they were all but unavailable at big box stores. literally doubling what I expected to pay was quite a shock to say the least. It is what it is. If I was able to do it myself, I would've. Live and learn Learn a trade kids lol

Exceptional O & Plumbing Service Experience…read more I highly recommend O & M Plumbing for any plumbing needs. In particular, Chris F. has consistently demonstrated exceptional skill and professionalism on every project of mine. His attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship set him apart as a truly outstanding plumber. Project Background I recently purchased an older home, full of charm and distinctive bathrooms. However, I encountered a leak in the master shower that required the p-trap under the shower drain to be replaced before new tile work could be completed. My concern was that reconnecting the new p-trap to the antique cast iron drains in the foundation might cause the cast iron to crumble. Chris F.'s Approach and Solutions Chris came to the rescue, using a camera down the drain to evaluate the situation. He explained the difference between what was probable and what was possible, providing two bids: one for the probable good case and one for the possible problem case. Having used Chris before with excellent results, I trusted his methods, which are always the least intrusive and focused on effective access. In the worst-case scenario, Chris would need to cut and excavate a 2' x 2' hole in the foundation around the shower drain, then tunnel no more than five feet under the foundation from that access point to secure a solid connection to the iron drainpipe. In the best-case scenario, he would only need to excavate a 2' x 2' hole around the shower drain to replace and secure the new p-trap. He also showed me pictures of his past work for reassurance. Successful Outcome Fortunately, the best-case and probable case prevailed. While fixing the p-trap, Chris also discovered an unrelated drain leak under the foundation, which he repaired at no extra charge. I felt I received excellent value for the service provided. Professionalism and Work Quality Chris left the work site clean, as he has always done in the past. He and his co-worker collaborated well, using a small and quiet jackhammer designed specifically for plumbing foundation work. The new drain looks beautiful, and I can confidently proceed with the new tile work, knowing that the unseen part of the shower is sound and affordable. Appreciation Thanks to O & M Plumbing for introducing me to Chris F. and Mike. Both are good and considerate professionals, and I am grateful to have them working in my home.
