Everything is grilled or fried, but it's hot and yummy! Nursing and CNA care is usually good - the key is to not have anything out of the boxes to "confuse" them. Honestly, most of the staff on Rehab and Assisted Living are good - some just don't want to be bothered outside their comfort zone. I remember my daughter saying St Joseph's was the best facility in its income brackets. Certainly, there are others that cost more (a lot more), so, I guess you get what you pay for, and sometimes it's better and sometimes it's worse!!

The staff retention here is far above average and they really care about their patients. Our patients are our family. The therapists are top notch- Katie, Kiera, Alex, Sara, Austin, Keanan. All are very good at trauma work. The mentors (behavior health techs) are also amazing. They actually care about the clients. Ones of note are Dante, Obama, Chelsea, Rebecca, and Ricky. They listen to concerns and try to make the best decisions for each client. Like all facilities, some clients will not like the rules, but they will actually listen to your concerns. Shaun in admissions is supportive and amazing.

Mrs. Nichole as well was mentor who truly helped with a jovial disposition and true love for people and wanting to see them heal. Sharing appropriately her journey though addiction and consequent steps into continued recovery. I went to Phoenix for Trauma Recovery, only lasted 1 day. During my initial assessment Lindsi said…read morethey separate their groups into males and females. I was excited to hear it; that was going to be my first question because it's important to me. Studies show women participate more and heal more deeply, in women only groups. Lindsi and I talked about how important that is. She made several statements that she "gets it". I started a week later, to discover about half my group is men. When asked about it, Lindsi, who had been previously super responsive, didn't respond at all. It took 3 texts, and needing to talk before group, that got her to responded; saying 'sorry for the confusion, call the front desk and they'll explain'. The front desk explained their groups have never been separated by sex. It's clear, Lindsi lied. That was also my last day at Phoenix; neither Lindsi nor anyone else, attempted to make contact with me. I know a lot of IOPs lie to get people enrolled. They expect us to quietly deal, to put up with it; especially the trauma victims. We tend to not advocate for ourselves and they take advantage of that. There should be severe repercussions for such behavior. I was an admitted patient, they have an ethical responsibility to at least refer me to another program. Since they made zero contact, they failed at this as well. I saw a few things during my one day that weren't very "trauma informed". Like forcing a woman to move her chair back from a place she felt more comfortable (she was just 2' back). A male patient that was hyper-focused (stalker style) on talking to a female patient who was obviously trying to walk away. And, they lied about not being able to email me forms, yet I signed a document that said I agree, those same forms are just as valid if transmitted by email. Another oddball thing, during my assessment, Lindsi noticed a similarly in the name of my street and hers. She then told me the name of the street she lives on, the city, her mother's street name, that her mother lives in the same neighborhood, and the name of her elementary school. What!?! That's not a good idea, we're strangers. We need to hold places like Phoenix to account, or they'll re-traumatize their own patients. I plan to file a complaint with the Utah Dept. of Health and Human Services, and encourage anyone else with complaints to do the same. This place used to be on point where you could expect to be in and out within 5-10 minutes, but as…read moreof late the expected wait time has been 30-50 minutes. All of this has to due to the high turnover of the nurses. I've only been there for a little more than a year and have seen 6 different nurses come and go. I'm sure a lot of it is the abuse they get from recovering addicts who know everything and could do a better job than they can but you would think they could pay them enough to keep them from leaving. Apart from that its a pretty decent place but if they lose anyone else I do have to say I'll be looking for a different option.

My sweet Mom is currently a resident here. She is recovering after some major surgery…read more It is beautiful inside your and out. I told her I would only let her stay at a resort. If it only had a pool it would be. I toured a couple of places and this one and their location called the East side are excellent. They don't stink which was a priority for me. My Mom is really fussy about the food she will eat but most of the meals are good. She can choose what she wants daily and they accommodate her. The staff ratio seems adequate and I can at least leave her knowing she will be ok. Her room is huge too. The Case Manager at the U of U Hospital is the most horrible person I have ever met. She was trying to put my Mom in these horrible places. I had to take over the process. When I got here I asked the admitting Nurse if Case Managers get perks from these places. She said that they do get paid but the Parent Company Of Aspen Ridge do not pay because they don't have to. They are the nicest place in town. I've already told them to hold me a spot in about 20 years it's that nice. Demand that your loved ones only get the best and this is the best.

I checked myself in to Journey Healing Center in the summer of 2013 during the height of a manic…read moreepisode & my alcoholism fueled by the anxiety and pleasure seeking behavior inherent in a manic episode. I was seen by therapists and an in-house doctor and guided by selfless volunteer helpers as well as my peers. I stayed mostly sober for a couple years after Journey then had a major life change and went back out for a couple more years, then I found myself back on the path of sobriety. If it wasn't for Journey there's no way I would have decided to keep heading towards a sober and peaceful life. Today I can proudly say I am 11 months sober and looking forward to my first full year sober. (I've basically sober for a few years - with a few slips here and there). But this is my longest consecutive stint. Journey catapulted me down this path of sobriety, it was upon entering Journey that I first made the decision that I was going to do this thing for real. I may not have gotten it right away but all the tools I learned during my stay are what I used to get me to where I am today and I remember the staff like family. The rooms are so beautiful, the beds are elegant and so comfy with high quality amenities and the food is excellent. The grounds were magical. I loved everything about my stay. I met my best friend for life at Journey. After our time there we kept in contact, we started dating then took a couple years apart to work on our own paths... and one day he got me back, we dated for a bit longer then he brought me to the back of journey - where we first met in the summer of 2013, it was now all covered in snow, I didn't recognize it at all, it was the day after thanksgiving 2020... He surprised me in the middle of winter, it was closed down at this time, once I took off the blindfold and recognized where he had brought me he proposed, in the exactl places we were when our eyes first met and now we are happily walking the path of sobriety as a married couple!!! Thank you Journey, you changed my life!

I did find it very disturbing that one of the male line staff was dating a female patient (and did not do a good job at hiding his jealousy anytime she was shown any attention). It does make me very curious if there is anything else unethical going on that isn't so obvious.

I attended Annie's house as a client for a little over 30 days. I loved my experience there & I…read moreloved the people. The staff really really cares about the clients and there is 24/7 support in either groups, from therapists, from techs, or the other women. I would highly recommend it for any woman struggling with alcohol and/or drug addiction. There are amazing groups and activities every day and every week and it was a lot of fun and a lot of help! My daughter had been into other treatment facilities before Annie's House and nothing seemed to work. She was homeless and deep into her addiction. Every night i was in fear of the impending call or knock on my door. Annies house was our saving grace. I cant speak more highly of the staff, the attention and care given to my daughter exceeded my expectations and hers at Annies House. If it wasnt for Annies House and Staff, my daughter would not have her life back, and i would not have my daughter back. She is still in recovery and its been almost a year. The longest sober time ever for her. My daughter is becoming the daughter i lost, to see her laugh, living and appreciation for stronger sober friends as a support system. She is working, attends meetings and a sponsor. She has exceeded my expectations when at one time i had almost lost all Hope.
