After about four months of struggling with PPD, I made the decision to pursue permanent birth control a decision I now deeply regret. I was told by Dr. Cheruba Prabakarthat my tubes could not be tied and that they had to be removed. During the consultation, she asked if I wanted more children. At the time, while clearly struggling emotionally, I said no. She stated that since I was 39, it was a good age for this procedure if I did not want more children. I understand that the decision was 100% mine, however the state of mind I was in was not capable of making a life-changing, irreversible decision. I strongly believe that when working with women -- especially postpartum women -- it is a physician's responsibility to recognize warning signs of postpartum depression and emotional distress and to implement safeguards in their practice. What I needed at that time was help and support for my PPD, not a permanent procedure that altered my body forever. Instead, the process felt quick and not thorough. There was no screening for postpartum depression, no encouragement to wait, and no discussion about how temporary emotional states can affect long-term decisions. Now, three years later, I am 42 years old and desperately want another child. Time is running out. I am now facing IVF, with no guarantee that my insurance will cover it since this is considered a decision I made for myself. My eggs are older, the odds are lower, and the emotional and financial burden is overwhelming. I wish there had been more caution, more counseling, and more time given before moving forward. I also hope that by sharing this experience, changes can be made so that another woman in a vulnerable postpartum state is not placed in this position. I am beyond sad and angry about my situation, I wish i could of tide my tubes and maybe reversal would of been an option now there is nothing absolutely nothing i can do. and time is running out.

My endometriosis has improved by 80% with UCSF non surgical recommendation. You only have one set of reproductive organs. The bay area has the best endometriosis doctors in the nation. There are other established programs (Stanford, kaiser, south). It was a mistake to go here because it was close to home.

He has performed multiple surgeries on me over the years, and I have trusted him with my care. Unfortunately, my recent experiences with the practice have been very disappointing. Over the past year, the office has rescheduled my appointments twice. At my most recent visit, I waited 45 minutes for a routine annual exam. The practice also feels much more impersonal than it once did. I used to feel seen and heard, but that is no longer my experience. I was recently transferred to the RSVP office, where I don't know any of the providers. After being a loyal patient for so many years, I felt more like I was being passed along than cared for. Dr. Wells remains a skilled and compassionate physician, but the office, patient experience, and continuity of care have changed significantly. I hope the practice takes this feedback to heart and remembers the value of long-term patient relationships.

They have to do better as I have never heard of a doctor's office making a patient wait on hold 45 minutes to make a simple appointment. Why don't they have appointments online or use a AI receptionist? They cannot expect patients to wait on the phone to get a simple appointment. I hope the office can improve this with technology that is available.

I have been seeing Dr. Aimee for about a year now and figured it was time for a review. Although we have not been successful yet, I have been to several other clinics prior to Dr. Aimee and truly feel that she has been the best by far and wanted to lay out a few reasons: (1) Dr. Aimee personally saw me for every single appointment so she was the one doing my ultrasound and bloodwork. She also always took extra time to have us speak to her in her office after every appointment to go over next steps. That is a level of care I haven't seen at other clinics, where it is sometimes rare to see your doctor more than a few times the entire cycle. (2) I have been going through IVF for 4 years, which means I have had many many ultrasounds done throughout that time. I had been diagnosed with DOR and "unexplained" infertility. Since Dr. Aimee personally attended to me at every appointment, she got to know my symptoms and body very well. She knew what was normal for me and what was not normal. After only 5 months with Dr. Aimee, she discovered silent endometriosis off a random comment I made about a sore back, despite no signs of endometriosis. She was then able to guide me towards a specialist, where I had laparoscopic surgery to discover Stage II endometriosis. I likely would've continued believing "unexplained" infertility was my diagnosis if she hadn't put in the effort to dig deeper. This is a huge benefit when you are actually seeing your provider every appointment. (3) Communication with Dr. Aimee is readily available and easy. This has been really helpful for me in those random moments where something stressful comes up or if something happens over the weekend, she is always responsive. I really appreciate the communication aspect because infertility is a huge and stressful battle and she truly makes sure that your doctor is not an additional source of stress. This is unlike other clinics I have been to, where communication and getting in touch with your doctor can be really difficult. She truly cares about each and every patient and wants you to succeed. (4) Dr. Aimee is a great doctor for people that feel like they've "tried everything else." She is willing to think outside the box to come up with different solutions to your problems. Additionally, she is constantly doing research and trying to find new ideas on how to find new avenues to success. There are so many other great things I want to say about Dr. Aimee, but it would make this review even longer! She is truly an incredible woman and doctor and I feel very grateful to have her as my doctor.

Something that we struggled with for a while due to age was infertility. We had actually seen several fertility specialists during this long journey, and have gone through 3 rounds of IVF (2 mini's and 1 conventional) as well as an IUI. Although they were all unfortunately unsuccessful, we discovered that not all fertility clinics and doctors are created equal. While we found that many doctors take a very traditional, rigid and cookie cutter approach to treatment. Focusing more on luck through repeated attempts, Dr. Aimee was much more focused and tailored in her regiment. We always felt informed during this process, and confident in Dr. Aimee's recommendations. And unlike other clinics, we were always able to get ahold of Dr. Aimee directly. Instead of communicating with a nurse who would then pass the message along to the doctor if they felt it needed escalation. Along these lines, we were always shocked at how quickly we were usually able to get a response from Dr. Aimee. Sometimes even late at night. We often joked that Dr. Aimee probably doesn't sleep. Our only complaints about going with Dr. Aimee revolved around a few issues: 1) The initial application process to get a consultation with Dr. Aimee was lengthy, difficult, and required a lot of chasing from my wife due to poor follow-up and communication from the office. The individual handling review and processing of new patient applications would often go awol for days on end after sending out limited communication. 2) Billing was oftentimes not very clear and created a need for us to meticulously examine our bills line by line to ensure accuracy. 3) Dr. Aimee does not accept any insurance so 100% of the costs will be out of pocket. In addition, her rates are substantially higher than other clinics. Although we were ultimately unsuccessful with IVF, we were eventually blessed with a miracle baby through natural birth. Despite this, we would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Aimee to anyone looking for fertility care.

She stated she could only do one per appointment - which made no sense but I figured she didn't have much time to spend with me or it has to do with how they bill their insurance. I found out it was the latter which is even more frustrating. IN that appointment only one she was willing to do was remove my IUD and demanded I get on another form of birth control. I was getting my IUD removed because I completely stopped getting my period and my IRON count was off the charts to the point my primary doctor was concerned and needed me to see a oncologist. Due to this I didn't not want to be on any birth control and wait it to out to see if could get my period. I'm in my late 40s and was also wondering if I was perimenopausal. Because I refused to get on any birth control. She gave me a very judgmental speech about how a women my age should not be getting pregnant and odds of me actually using a condom would be highly unlikely. I was surprised to get that speech and I don't know if that was direct to me because of the way I was dressed or because of the way I looked as she obviously was assuming me to be irresponsible. I was so thrown off by that conversation and found it really unnecessary. And if pushing birth control is necessary in her job she needs a better way of delivering that message. That said I still need to do a annual check up and check to see if can get my abdomen checked out for the pain. So I had to schedule another appointment. Since then, my appointment has been canceled and rescheduled twice because of her. I was told the first one was because she had decided to extend her camping trip. The second was because she decided to call off for the week and that was this most recent one. Each time of each reschedule I have had to wait a full month or more to get on their calendar. Ridiculous. I am now looking for another OBGYN office. This was a complete waste of my time.
