a wrap of chicken and vegetables

Very disappointed in the qualify of service this morning. It appears they have new staff, and this new staff doesn't believe in cutting their chicken fajita meat and grilling the peppers and onions. Also, the girl that took the order doesn't listen too well, she didn't get my breakfast burrito order correct. This place used to be amazing and this new staff just isn't cutting it.

Don't be fooled by the looks on the outside and go on in! The inside of the restaurant is nice and clean AND the food was fantastic! My husband LOVED his chorizo con huevos (eggs & mexican sausage) and I loved my American breakfast (scrambled eggs, hash browns and bacon) w/ a bean/cheese burrito on the side. We are quite picky about retried beans and they were spot on here!! Ladies restroom was very clean and smelled clean too! The wait staff was awesome and they were bilingual. Just like eating at Abuelas (grandmas) house.

Loved this place and it was truly authentic Mexican. You know a Mexican place is good when most of the customers are Mexican!

We were in Waco visiting our daughter at Baylor and decided to check out a place to eat where we haven't been before. Not knowing much about the eateries in town we just happened to see Renee's off the service road and my wife said why not? Good move hon! The place has a lot of nice local ambience..the place was full of people enjoying what looked like great food! So we sat down and were greeted warmly by a young enthusiastic waitress with a great attitude! She immediately took our drink orders and came back with them promptly! My wife asked if they still served breakfast and she replied heartily.."Yes!". So I ordered the potatoes and eggs with refried beans on the side and a nice stack of flour tortillas! Man when it cam out it was definitely enough to feed 2 or more! The chips and salsa...green and red were really good! And the salsa I mixed in with my breakfast order which really gave it a lot of punch! Needless to say I was rolling out of there! Thanks Yelpers for your reviews. I always check Yelp before eating somewhere and as it was rated 4.5 stars based on the reviews so far I figured it was worth a go. And it was! If you're in Waco give it a try! Looks like it's family owned. The service is very good. The food is fresh and comes out promptly and it's conveniently located to the university and off the freeway. They even sell bus tickets to Mexico in case you have wanderlust! A nice place!

One of the only restaurants in Waco with real mole! And it's good!

Authentic Mexican but I was looking for a bit more Tex in my Tex-Mex... friendly folk. Some pastries/rolls did not seem freshly made.

Food was ok. Potatoes didn't have any flavor. The prices looked appealing until my check came and the charges didn't add up.

I bought a breakfast burrito from here, and their food was pretty good. Salsa sauce was excellent, but tortilla is little dry and too hard.

Authentic Mexican Food! I was the only gringo in the place out of 30 or so customers, so that speaks for itself.

The waitress was sweet, but remained slow throughout the entire meal. Our waitress never offered drink refills, and we waited extended periods for a to-go box and our check before finally going to the cashier ourselves. The biggest issue was a strong sewage-like odor coming from the restroom area. We were seated nearby, and every time the bathroom doors opened, the smell drifted into the dining room. Even the handwashing station in the dining area had the same unpleasant odor. The food looked great when it arrived, and the chips and salsa seemed fresh. However, I was disappointed to learn they no longer serve guacamole with their fajitas. The chicken fajitas arrived sizzling hot, but became very dry as they cooled. They were spicy, but lacked much flavor. The rice and beans were good. Overall, between the slow service, unpleasant smell, and mediocre food, I would not return or recommend this restaurant. There are plenty of other Mexican restaurants in Waco that I'd try before coming back here.

Thought we'd give it a try seeing as it was 10 minutes off I-35. Found the small place and it was exactly what we were looking for! The chips and salsa was super tasty, the half and half tea was on point, and you can't go wrong with a Mexican coke! Ordered the cheese enchiladas plate and the wife got a quesadilla. We were pleasantly satisfied and they hit the spot. Tbh though, the beans and rice won my heart being so flavorful and delicious. The service was superb and I appreciated their thoughtfulness of checking on us to make sure we were doing ok. All in all, we highly recommend you visit them if you're in the area, we got a table quick around 7 pm and it was a quaint epic time! Try it soon and you won't regret!

Their homemade chips are light and crispy, and their salsa is super flavorful while not overly spicy. It hits that happy medium between my husband and me. Breakfast is also great. You go in and pretty much grab a table unless there's a line with people waiting. Service is always friendly and efficient. Prices are fair. Typical mom and pop type interior with a mixture of booth seating and tables with metal chairs. It's always clean. Branch out and try something new. Highly recommend.
