My project with Renewal By Andersen was outstanding from being to end!! Well worth the money!!!

Find a good contractor, not Renewal. If I hadn't been watching them at install, they would have left in the rotted sill. I had to point out it was rotted and tell them to fix it. My $10,000 bay window started leaking after 4 years and they are clueless how to fix it after 3 visits. They just keep trying to throw some caulk at it. Plus there is a "service manager", an "install manager", the sales guy, the phone appt people, and then finally the actual crew. Most of whom have no clue about the actual job. The sales person never looked at the outside of my house and that created siding issues that now look horrible. They left big gashes open in my siding because the new window was supported differently. It's a horrible business model. The sales and scheduling people have no clue about the actual installation. They are pushing the install teams to do as much as they can as quickly as possible, guaranteeing a cut corner, low quality job. They scheduled my original job for half the time it eventually took and that was with the cut corners. Now they show up to try to fix the leak and don't even talk to me about their plans. Today they had the nerve to tell me that the the water was coming from the inside or I didn't close the window. They decide what to do and I find out about it from the person in front of a screen reading notes. Such a rip off. read more

I thought that I was purchasing a quality product, but boy was I wrong! While the actual sliding doors that I bought may function well, there were numerous issues with one of my patio doors: the glass was scratched, the grill didn't fit, the foot locks were missing (on both doors) and the sliding screen was the wrong size. I had to wait 6 weeks for replacements. Today the scratched door was replaced, as was the grill. However, the sliding screen was still the wrong size! What Is wrong with the quality control of this supposed high-end product? Do people not know how to measure correctly? I will now have to wait, probably another 6 weeks for a screen, wondering the whole time, if it will finally fit. I am totally disgusted with this whole process, and wouldn't recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a stress-free purchase. Wow! where do I begin, Ralph has gone above and beyond for us. From the moment he walked through the door you could just tell how kind and sincere he was. We felt he was very upfront and honest with us from the moment we sat down together, where he assessed our needs and wants. Never, not once did my wife or I feel he was pushy or a salesman in anyway. He truly cared about what we were looking for in our windows. His goal was not to sell us anything, but actually to help us in our purchase. He ended working with us for hours where our appointment went into the very late evening and till this very day he continues to work with us to make sure everything is just perfect and that we will love every decision we made with him. He focused in on the smallest of details; and we appreciate how he has put himself in our shoes as if our home was his. We value and respect his opinion since he does this everyday of his life and we are doing this for the first and most likely last time in our lives. We feel Ralph only had our best interest in mind. He is such a great and good hearted person, that my wife and I can call him a friend. We have built such a strong trust, rapport, and relationship that I have made it a goal of mine to get him together with anyone I know or come in contact with interested in a window or door. A month and a half after completion, I was reached out to by customer service for follow-up on my complaints. They were great and definitely deserve recognition, and they did reimburse me for the price difference I mentioned wasn't honored in my initial review. I hope that this is a better representation of what you can expect from them, but even so I'm not sure it should have taken so long and the entire situation was avoidable to begin with. 4 stars for the follow up but my initial review stands. read more

After living in my house for 34 years, I decided to change 4 windows, two of which were from 1980. Two windows were installed by Pella & there were drafts coming through so I put plastic up every winter. Now I'm looking forward to never getting drafts with my new Andersen windows. My installer, Leo, was excellent & he & his assistant did a great job installing all the windows. They put down tarps & cleaned up after they finished. I highly recommend Andersen & I'm sorry when I moved into my house we didn't change all the inferior, cheap builders' windows. read more

After Shane and Ryan from the installation team got their hands into the project the progress was amazing. We replaced a triple wide wood sash window with a sliding door and sidelight. All 9 feet of it. I must say after the sticker shock and strong arm sales tactics I was concerned to say the least. However, after a miscommunication at the sales level, it was upon me to demo my wall so the installation could go on as planned. Needless to say, RbA made the situation right in my eyes and the final product is expected to give me many years of solid performance. Renewal by Anderson may employ some grey area sales tactics to push a "premium" product, but the skilled craftsmen they use for installation are almost worth every penny. The install team of Shane and Ryan are welcome back anytime. Their teamwork and attention to aesthetic details were refreshing after struggling with buyers remorse after the sale. I don't regret the purchase. Now knowing how solidly built the product is and how meticulously it was installed. They tell you 90 minutes, but It went on for 5 hours. I accept responsibility for allowing it. I should have cut it off. I signed up but asserted my right to cancel, sending the Notice by fax, certified and regular mail. Here are my reasons for canceling. 1. The salesman lied. I asked him what the payment terms were. He said they were 20% down; 35% on formal measurement; and the balance on completion, but the contract said differently. It was not balance on completion. It was another 35% upon arrival on installation day. That meant it was 90% down before doing any work. When I confronted him, the salesman changed it, but I never recovered from his lie, and my suspicions remained. He was slick. 2. The paperwork says, "Renewal By Andersen, An Andersen Company," making me believe Andersen stood behind the product and installation. I looked up Renewal By Andersen of Central NJ and learned it's owned by Larry Landes, former owner of Garden State Brickface. It is unlikely Andersen Windows owns any interest in Renewal By Andersen, and therefore Renewal is NOT an Andersen company. This means Andersen Windows may be part of this misrepresentation. I refuse to purchase an expensive product sold by one company and installed by another. I would feel better if Andersen Windows said Renewal is a "Certified" installer of Andersen windows and Andersen stands behind and guarantees both windows and labor. That would avoid the common problem where manufacturer denies warranty coverage due to faulty installation. 3. Renewal doesn't remove casing, siding, etc. to ensure the new window goes into a receptacle which is properly sealed, flashed and insulated. The replacement windows may be sealed, but it seems to me the area around the opening must be properly flashed, insulated, sealed, and prepared. This seems especially critical in older homes, which are the ones requiring replacement windows. 4. Price. While I remain heavily committed to Andersen windows, I'm not convinced Renewal's high price is justified when it turns out you're not dealing with Andersen Windows. It seems to me Andersen could solve these problems by making the Renewal companies "certified installers" and then standing behind both product and installation. 5. The presentation went beyond midnight, but the 3-Day Right To Cancel was dated the day the presentation began; not when it was signed. This undermined my confidence in Renewal, my salesman, and gave me the impression the entire operation was "slick." I've since spoken with an experienced adjuster with whom I consult for construction and home improvement advice. He's partial to Andersen windows but satisfied you can install windows of equal quality for half the price of Renewal By Andersen. I'm glad I cancelled. read more

This establishment is one business that quote 'let the buyer's beware' be the most appropriate. I visited this place several weeks ago and set up a home appointment. During the visit my wife and I were force to view a sales pitch on his tablet. Since I was doing my initial research I just bear his sales pitch. His sales pitch is atypical pitch of a car salesman. He puts down his competitor's products as inferior to his own to a point of ridiculousness and the price he quoted were several time more expensive than previous quotes from others I contacted in the past. He then goes into 'I should not be doing this but... and phones his 'manager' to get authorization for the great discount he is giving me. This guy claims he's been with Anderson for over 10 years but his sales pitch is pathetic. He uses the typical 'you get this price only if you place the order now. He persistently sells his pitch after my wife and I refuse him multiple times. He departed our home under unfriendly terms after our insistence he leave. His 'supervisor' call back several days later and apologizes and continued with the sales pitch. Again, the best description for this establishment is 'Let the Buyer Beware.' 06/10/2015 04/12/2016 - After reviewing the comments from other 'customers,' it seems their comon technique is to followup with a phone call. This is the typical bad cop then good cop approach i.e., hard sell first if that fails soft sell. Again buyer beware. 12/08/2017 - I thought it's time I revisit my older reviews and I noted the majority of the 266 not recommented reviews are negative. I wish I could give them ZERO stars...but I'll chalk up the one star to the really nice and punctual technician who came to my house in April to inspect the window moldings that are splintering and blistering (but still under warantee). I called the Cranford location in early May, to follow-up on the inspection, and was told that they couldn't find anything in the system. Ten minutes later, I got a call back, saying that it was a mistake, that the new pieces had been ordered, but that it would take a few weeks to get them in. It is now mid-July, and I can't get anyone on the phone who can/will help me out. Nobody can "find any notes" in the system, except that they see a technician was out at my house in April. I have never experienced such incompetence and run-around from what I thought was a reputable company. read more

I knew the experience was going in the wrong direction when the person who called back could setup a tentative appointment but had to get a 'confirmer' on the line to actually set the time and date. If you have 90 minutes to kill, have a renewal by Andersen sales rep stop over to sell you their service and product. Needed a sliding patio door and received a $3,500 estimate if we sign today. The price goes up to $4,500 if we wait. This sales tactic is so unethical and very shady. One price today and another price tomorrow? That's BS. Goodbye Andersen. So sorry I called. read more

We ordered beautiful three panel sliding glass doors framed in natural wood for a balcony that faces the NYC skyline for our townhome in Cliffside Park. The workmanship of these "made in America" sliding doors are bar none and look amazing! Ask for John M. as a salesman, because he explains everything you need to know to make good decisions about doors and windows and is very personable. Patrick F. did an excellent job of installing them, came to the house on time, and finished the job when he estimated! The clean up was impeccable and the way this company handled the sales to the installation was better than expected. One thing I will advise is if you live at a townhome or condo with an association, follow up with your association and Renewal by Anderson to make sure the paperwork has been sent and received, because nothing will get done unless this detail has been completed! (Doors will NOT be ordered and sent to the factory to be built; they are usually custom.) I ended up with a three-week delay due to my not following up, a mistake I will not make again!!!! I plan to replace the rest of my windows in my 1985 built townhome and will most likely use this location again. read more

We had our front living room window replaced. Our 2 installers, Wojtek and Jack, arrived right on time. They took a few minutes to discuss with us what procedures were in the work order, and asked if we had questions. Both my daughter and I did! We had been given the impression from the sales presentation that the removal of our bay window and the installation of a more moderate "flat" window unit, would still provide a small "lip" or "ledge" which apparently was not the case. The fellows noted that I was close to tears when I heard that, and I immediately assured me - "We'll figure out a way to do that for you." Immediately after, we jumped in his truck, traveled to a lumber center, and within about a half hour we were back with the needed "piece" where Jack was busily preparing the site, and removing the old one. I was so amazed that any workman would take the trouble to do that for a customer. The measured piece fit perfectly. Needless to say, the two men worked tirelessly the entire time, despite very cold temperatures outside, and completed the job in a little under 5 hours. They made sure to demonstrate how all parts worked, including the crank out panels, the removal and insertion of screens, cleaning procedures, etc. They re-hung the blinds for us, and again asked if we were satisfied with the job. The window unit looked stunning, and the best part is that we have no more draft at all, which formerly had made our living room extremely uncomfortable. We can't thank Wojtek and Jack enough for the extra efforts they made to make us happy! read more

Had the last set of windows recently replaced by Andersen. The lead for the installation was Wojtek and he had two gentlemen working with him. The entire crew was focused on their job and at the same time being respectful and informative about what they were doing. Wojtek, in past work, had done roofing and siding, and he was pointing out some issues with our roof that he had noticed while doing the install of our third floor windows. All members of the team cleaned up thoroughly after themselves and there was no debris left after their departure. So like everyone else that has reviewed RBA of NJ, I am in the same boat. What is even more repulsive than the 2 hour useless sales pitch I sat through from a guy who kept asking me personal questions about my wife, and why she was not there, is the fact that the pricing was nothing short of a disgrace. After the 2 hour pitch, I made a call to my father is an engineer and in the construction business to consult about pricing. This is when the " relationship" went bad. We spend a good 10 minutes on the topic of " I thought you said you would not consult anyone on this " ..... needless to say, the " salesman" left with a poor attitude because I would not sign on the dotted line right then and there......ugh! My advice to Larry and his merry band of RBA door to door sales reps is simply this.... people dont want to work with or buy from companies or people like this. You might want to rethink your sales strategy, and maybe, just maybe you can rejuvenate what seems to be an already very negative reputation.... Home Depot here I come! read more

We are remodeling our condo and the first job we wanted to accomplish was installation of new windows for the entire condo. Greg and Adam of Renewal by Andersen really started our remodeling project off with a bang. They arrived promptly the day the installation was to take place. They were efficient and neat the entire day of the job. Most importantly they removed all of the windows in our condo and installed the new windows before 4pm. First time was 2 yrs ago in May2014, they had a program running and we agreed to have a bay window & new bedroom windows installed; we were pleased with the product that we called again this year July2016; thankfully our sales rep 2yrs ago is still around, we specifically asked for sales rep TJ. He was very nice, knowledgeable, and made a good impression on us on his first visit. They had another program running at the time we called, price quoted was good that we signed up. This year we had a window converted to French doors, and we had them open up a wall for new windows to match the other side of the wall. They have improved sales app, and installers were quick, finished in a day, clean, meticulous, & professionals. We highly recommend Renewal by Andersen. They have a great team. I wanted to replace windows on my 30 year old house. We have a lot of windows and we started by calling Andersen Renewal for a estimate. As with any major purchase, I was expecting to do my home work and compare products before making a purchase. To start, the rep kept wanting to give us a long sales presentation before even starting on an estimate - which basically consists of why their competition is crap. An appointment that was supposed to take 90 minutes dragged on to 3 1/2 hours. My husband who works from home had set aside 2 hours of his time - when he had to take a call at the end of that, she was not happy. I explained to the rep, that this being a major purchase, I wanted to comparison shop before buying. The prices are very high (almost $38K for 10 windows and 3 doors) but we were offered a 25-30% discount but only if I committed on the spot. She kept arguing, and at the end when she only wrote up half the order, said it was because I had rushed her - 3 1/2 hours later. Seriously? I tried to explain to her that I felt that if I had been told that they would require a commitment upfront when I made the appointment, I would have looked at my other options first and then called them. I don't believe the Andersen company would use this kind of sales tactic, but these is a franchise. The sleazy sales tactics seems to be their modus operandi. RENEWAL BY ANDERSON - RUN RUN RUN AWAY. I scheduled an in home estimate to replace 2 large windows and to then get another seperate estimate for 8 more windows. We were told it would be a 90 minute estimate. When the representative showed up she proceeded to talk about the windows and their quality for at least an hour. We begged her to just give us the price. She wouldn't. she made us watch videos and then she went out to her car and brought in window samples. By the 1 hour and 20 minute point we wanted to run out of our own home but we were trapped here listening to her go on and on, she didn't care we were exhausted from this sales pitch and just wanted a price. she wouldn't give it to us. after another ten minutes we asked her to leave. That's when she finally gave us a quote for 12 windows of twenty nine thousand dollars!!!!!!! $29,000 for 12 windows 2 are small bathroom windows. that is about 2400 per window. At one point when she wouldn't give us a price I showed her an email from another Anderson window company that gave me prices right away and she GOT MAD!! she said I thought you told me you weren't working with another company. We showed her it was an Anderson window company and she just went nuts and was so rude to us and that's when my husband asked her to leave. This was the WORST experience I have ever had with a representative in my home... I called the office the next day and spoke to someone who was equally as insensitive as the sales representative. She said if you were going to buy a $79,000 Jaguar wouldn't you want the sales person to tell you everything about the car. I responded that at least you know going in that the car is $79,000. then the price can be justified by the quality, but you refusing to tell me the price of my purchase until the end is not informative, it's just a ploy to justify the outrageous cost. Imagine trying to buy something when someone refuses to tell you how much it will cost you. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY. read more

We went into this with no expectations and an open mind. The thought that a sales person/consultant will be coming into our home to perform a routine sales act to gain commission was the first judgement mistake we made. This was far from that... The Consultant (Michael Inoa) was prompt, well mannered, very detailed, extremely knowledgeable of the materials used on the windows, the manufacturing plants, along with the complete history of Andersen Windows as a whole... Some may think that to much information is unnecessary, but they are wrong... Questions can be automatically answered if you allow the time to hear it from an actual person rather then a youtube video. The consultation is a minimum 90 minutes, so I will suggest that you allow this time and more to get a clear understanding of the company you are investing in and allowing into your home. Having window experience as an installer and hearing the steps being taken during an installation was comforting with my family and I, as we have a new addition to our family/home (grandchild) and the demolition during this project was going to be a great concern. Whether we were going forward with the final installation or not, I would definitely recommend anyone that needs a window/door improvement project to have a consultation with Andersen Windows. Quality material along with Number 1 customer service is the reward you will receive with Andersen Windows and my family and I greatly appreciate the time and efforts taken by the entire Andersen Team. Just had our sliding back door replaced. Our installers were Ed and Ray. They were on time explained what they were going to do. Placed plastic inside and out. Replaced wood frame installed new door. When done showed me all about the doors and its locks. Cleaned up in side and out and removed all debris. Caulking door trim well done. We are 100% satisfied and would recommend Ed and Ray and Renewal by Andersen for your window and door replacement. read more

I have mixed reviews. I can't understand how you can do your research on just about anything you want to buy but Windows. The salesperson was nice and professional until it was time for the prices. It's their job and I understand. As far as the installation. I have no complaints. Vito and Jose were excellent. I am loathe to give anyone a one star rating because they're so frequently unjustified; "we waited five minutes for a table - one star!", "my burger was too big - one star!", "they didn't have any rainbow color glitter - one star!" This company definitely deserves just one though. My wife set up an appointment for one of their salesman to come over one weekend. He was chatty and nice enough, measured our windows and telling us stories before opening up his laptop to share with us what seemed the very high price of $15k for 6 windows, $13k after discount, and $11k if we signed on the spot. My wife and I looked at each other appalled but slightly amused. Was he serious? We explained that we were still shopping around collecting estimates, and we weren't close to making a decision, but we still expected the lowest price if we went with them. Things turned rather quickly after that, as the sales rep became defensive and a little bit rude. We tried to explain that their business model was all wrong, that they should tell customers to have them over last after they've collected other quotes, that customers would have an opportunity to a deeper discount if they signed immediately, but he would have none of it and eventually packed his bags and left. After, my wife and I looked at each other still trying to process what just happened. I'm in sales and always felt that signing today for the best price is just the biggest cheeseball tactic. But why would Andersen resort to this? We know they make a solid product. After a little research we found out that this company isn't owned by Andersen as the name implies. They claim to sell a unique product made by Andersen, and are the only ones who sell this. We had other window companies come by who actually offered almost the identical product. Anyway we ended up going with another installer who sold us Andersen 400 Series which look and perform great, are easy to clean, and cost us a little under $7k, installed. read more

We've had our new windows for over a year, and I will say the product is good. The windows are solid, they keep the heat in during the winter and the house stays cool in the summer. They also reduce the street noise. The reason I'm giving the one star is the price, the sales representative and the installation. Our sales rep was in our home for 5 hours, talking in circles and doing multiple demonstrations which were totally unnecessary. I did not enjoy the pushy sales tactics, and the multiple "this offer is only good right now, you must decide now because if I walk out you can't take advantage of this...", and so on. Despite the sales representative we went through with the purchase because we knew before they walked in the door we wanted the product. When it came to the installation, we were told they would leave our home cleaner than when they got there. This was absolutely not true, we found screws all over my son's room, in his CRIB, in our yard/landscaping and on the roof of our garage. We paid over $25,000 for these windows, and I think it's absolutely outrageous that for that money the wood isn't even primed or painted. Not to mention they only replaced the wood trim around the window that they felt needed to be replaced, so the end product was a mismatched window trim - the new pieces of unfinished/unprimed wood trim were not the same style as the old ones around my windows. So we ended up taking pictures and calling the sales representative to complain about the poor installation and mismatched wood trim and they sent a team back to finish what they started. I thought maybe they'd prime the trim with this second trip out but they did not. A year later I'm still working on priming and painting the trim on 20 windows and a doorway. The work was sloppy. I will update this review with pictures later if the system allows. They left gaps behind the wood trim / sill, sloppy lines cut into the walls for the door with messy caulk barely covering the cuts. Not to mention now that the weather is warmer, we noticed a small line of ants coming right in the corner of the door frame. Having read all the awful reviews, I am glad I made my own decision to use Renewal by Andersen. Was the sales call with Barry a little lengthy with the demonstration? Yes, but he was on-time and didn't try and push or up-sell us on anything. Once we came to an agreement to have 11 windows replaced every step along the way went the way it was supposed to. One week later the 2nd rep came by to do a more thorough measurement, on time and very professional. He told us the windows would be ready from factory in 7-10 days and we were called on 7th day that they were in and we could set an install date. Now to the best part, the install. Quoted arrival of 8:30am--9:30am and they arrive at 8:30am. The install team of the GD Crew worked like a team. They each knew what they were doing and got right to work. They made sure all furniture in the rooms were protected. In the end the GD Crew of Jimmy, Sal, Hairo and Dan did a fantastic job and left the job as clean as when they came in. 4 stars instead if 5 just because there's always room for improvement. So to Barry our salesman, Chris with the measurements, and the GD Crew with the install, thank you for meeting our expectations with every aspect of the job. read more

We are very happy with our new windows. The installation went seamlessly and every speck of dirt was cleaned up. The windows look great! However, I do have a couple of concerns. Because of the cost of changing all the windows in the house at once, we were quoted doing the house in two parts. I do not have the paperwork showing the amount for the second half of the job from that sales call. This concerns me based on the remarks I read from other reviewers. Also, I took off one star because we thought the price was a little high but wanted an Anderson product. read more

I love my new windows! I decided to go with Andersen after hearing good things about them and they exceeded my expectations. The customer service has been great and the installers who came to do the work were fantastic! They were professional, friendly and hard working. I barely saw them stop to take a break. I received a call yesterday regarding an appointment I had today, 5/13. The lady said the person who made the original appointment made a mistake and they had to reschedule...ok, i can deal with that. She then went on to say what time will you and your wife be home...I said she will not...she kept going on and on about making sure we BOTH need to sit down with the person giving the estimate..when she can go no further, she went on to say how the price they gave me 4 years ago has dramatically gone up and if i would still be interested. Talk about imbeciles...I told her to keep her windows and hung up. This company uses bs tactics, is very expensive and they don't seem to know how to deal with people...I will pass once again...I still don't know how the owner stays in business...the fish stinks from the head... UPDATE: I received a call from the owner, Mr. Landis. He was nice enough to apologize for the experience I had in the past. Sent over a representative to give me an estimate. I recently had new windows installed in my home and I couldn't be happier. I have had several contractors give me quotes and some have done work on the house, in the past. Renewal by Anderson really changed my opinion on what to expect from home renovation companies. They were prompt, efficient and delivered the best overall value. A home renovation company that actually keeps its promise??!! Unheard of, nowadays. I will never make the mistake of trusting the "Big Box" retailers to work on ny house again. I decided to replace 8 large windows in my sunroom, and I saw a TV advertisement from RBA - buy one window, get another at 1/2 price. I called. They would not give an estimate or any useful info over the phone; they insisted that they needed to send a salesman for a two hour presentation. I had to make small talk at first, then sit through part of his presentation, then watch a video, then sit through more presentation, then watch a demonstration of air transference through a window and heat fan that he brought and set up in my kitchen - not unlike a science fair project in Junior High. Then more presentation, then the aggresive sales pitch. Immense sales pressure... I was told I was getting a discount of around $1800 (total price was $8400) but ONLY IF I signed the contract at this meeting. This is the same kind of on-the-spot pressure deal that you see in those Florida timeshare pitches. I had wanted to research various windows - including this one - first on my own, before making a final decision, and he was adamant that this price was a one-shot on-the-spot deal and would not be offered again to me. I then read over the cancellation policy VERY CAREFULLY. He told me I had three days to change my mind, and he showed me where it stated that on the contract. But he failed to steer me to the BACK of the contract where, in substantially smaller letters, it says that in order to effectively cancel the contract, you must send a certified, return receipt signed letter. I wonder how many people cancelled by phone or by regular mail, only to find out afterwards their contract was binding? I then pointed out that I wanted to take advantage of the "buy one, get one 1/2 off" offer that was advertised on TV. The salesman said that was already built into the price he quoted me. I highly doubt it. He made no mention of it the entire THREE hours he was there. After he left I researched ALL of Andersen's windows, plus the Marvin brand, and others. I researched vinyl vs. wood vs. fibrex. Although the slaesman kept toting the virtues of fibrex over vinyl, it tuns out that RBA windows are 65% vinyl, with wood chips inside. Also, while the salesman was there, he pointed out my inferior kitchen windows that are "leaking cold air" and said that they should be replaced as well. After he left I looked at the kitchen windows closely and discovered they were Andersen windows - the salesman did not recognize this. Finally, here is the bottom line: from all the extensive research I did on the internet, there are many mixed opinions. However, it seems the RBA fibrex windows might offer a little more insulation than the Andersen 200 series (some contractors and homeowners question that or even disagree). I also think they are more pleasing to the eye and I love the gliders, although the screns are on the inside. So... probably somewhat more energy efficient. And more pleasing to the eye. HOWEVER - and this is a big however - is that really worth more than DOUBLE the cost? Me thinks not. Built into the price of the fibrex series is the cost of all those salesmen in suits and big smiles making house calls, as well as those television commercials and magazine ads. Hey... if money was absolutely no object, I would go with the RBA fibrex windows. But money IS an object, and I do not wish to pay over 100% more, for windows that will offer only marginally better energy efficiency. read more

After reading all of the reviews below, I was extremely skeptical of dealing business with Renewal By Andersen. However, being how we really liked their windows, I decided to go ahead with the purchase. As other reviewers mentioned, their sales tactics are questionable, however I was more than used to it and just wanted to get down to the numbers. Since it was within our budget, we went ahead with the purchase. I can see how an undecided buyer might feel pressured into buying the product with their "buy today for an extra 15% off" gimmick. In the grand scheme of things it means nothing and just meant to play you. Following the sales pitch was a visit from a technician to measure the windows/doors that were to be replaced. It was as smooth as you could hope for. The gentleman was in and out in 15 minutes, while also double checking his measurements. Finally came the installation. Three men came and spent a total of 7 hours removing the old door, installing the new one, and cleaning up after themselves. Even though it was long and tedious Mateusz, the main installer, was extremely kind and courteous. Overall, I give the product and installers a 5/5. Sales get a generous 3/5. read more

WE just had 7 new sliding windows installed at my MIL in NJ.. First the sales lady was very patient with my 80 +year old MIL, took the time to explain the benefits of Andersen windows took measurements. since i had had windows replaced in my home in VA recently i had a good idea of what was a fair price. Andersen was high but with the "sign now 25% discount" it was very reasonable. A field guy came out that week to verify measurements and survey for potential problems. Today, Saturday, Vito and his assistant came about 8:30 am to install. They did run into the problem (rotted sills) that the survey guy and I had discussed as possible, but they had all the parts with them to make it right. They worked tirelessly through the day, well after dark by the time they had cleaned up and were ready to leave. I have experience doing construction and renovation. I dropped in to watch periodically during the day and those two did a top notch very professional installation. They left a very clean and expert job. Based on this experience I would recommend Renewal by Andersen to anyone. read more

All I wanted was a consultation and estimate to replace a sliding patio door. After taking all my contact information, the sales person said they "prefer" to have both homeowners present. He would not give me a straight answer when I asked if they require this and would cancel if we're not both home at the time. After going around and around several times, with increasing vagueness and rudeness, I withdrew my request and hung up. I've selected, signed for, and supervised major renovations to our home, but i'm not adequate to handle a patio door replacement?! Feels slimy -- beware. read more

I will echo what others have said already. I called for request for an in-home estimate for 3-4 windows. After a a whole series of questions by the very polite salesperson, I scheduled an appointment for the estimate. He told me that he would need 90 minutes and both my wife and I had to be home for his presentation. I then had another appointment with a friend around that time and asked to reschedule, but informed him that both I and my wife do not have 90 minutes of time for the sales pitch. I mentioned that I assume Anderson are better windows than most - even mentioned I have a few Anderson windows in the house and that I did not have to be sold on them; just a measurement, a price and if we all agreed with price and lead time, we would go ahead - this is not as if we were buying a house or a car, this is simply replacement windows. He said that he understood, but would not come down unless both my wife and I were present and both willing to give him 90 minutes of our time. I told him he's lost a sale and a recommendation. I am posting an addendum to this review because shortly after this review posted I received a very apologetic phone call from the supervisor. She seemed sincere and concerned and said all the right things. I am not sure if it was in response to this review or not, but in any case, she said that they would do some tweaking of the consultation process with more of an appreciation of customer's time and availability. I think her response would make me take another look at the windows, if they were more in my price range - even with the sales promotions and multi-window discounts, these are still at the high end of the scale. I must agree with other comments posted. I made an inquiry about services at a trade show in Rutherford NJ months ago. At that time I said I would not be ready to actually do the work for several months so not to call right away. These people have been calling relentlessly. You block one number and they call with another. They respond with apologies to the complaints on these posts yet they continue. Now its escalated to several times a day including early morning on weekends. So annoying. Like other folks on these complaints I will likely find another contractor to do the work. ADVICE: If you go to home improvement trade shows, steer clear of these people and NEVER give your phone number to anyone else risk getting harrassed for the next year. Seriously...RUN when you see the Renewal by Andersen guys coming your way. We were in the market for all new windows in our brownstone...16 in total plus three exterior doors. These guys have a street canvas team and they approached my husband and said they'd like to come to do a 90 minute presentation. My husband said he would take the appointment and they insisted that I be there which meant an evening so we set something up for 7:00 pm on a weekday as we were eager to get started on our project and expected to spend around $40k between windows and doors. The salesman showed up on time and then started in on this ranting sales pitch which literally went on for three hours before we asked him to leave. We gave him two warnings to wrap it up and he still kept going on with zero respect for our time. Don't say 90 minutes and then you're still carrying on three hours later!! What really annoyed me was that we interrupted our tenants so this guy could take measurements and then we gave him the final warning to hurry the f up since it had been three hours...(did I mention 90 minutes MEANS THREE HOURS???), he said, "fine, we'll have to reschedule." The sales guy called the dispatch number to reschedule and we said he could come back on Sunday (I think), confirm a time and then some other guy shows up. We ask the new guy if he had the measurements and he said he was there to do the whole pitch and would have to measure everything again. We told him we absolutely were NOT going to sit through another three hours and disturb our tenants on a Sunday so he called his boss, who told him to leave. He then rang their dispatch center and tried to identify the first guy that came out but they couldn't figure that out. At this point there was no way I'd let these unprofessional, inconsiderate, losers back in our house and I asked him to have his boss call me because I wanted to let them know upset I was at the sheer amount of time they have wasted. Never received a call. Really? You can waste three hours of our time when you ask for 90 minutes, then a Sunday afternoon and you can't even call? Seriously F you, Renewal by Andersen!!
