We have had all of our windows replaced in our home in shifts (for budgeting purposes). Our last installation was the best experience, largely due to the crew that did the job. Greg (crew leader) was professional, respectful of our home and made sure that it was left in the same condition as when the crew arrived. Following the installation, Greg took the time to demonstrate how the windows operated for daily use as well as for cleaning. Our only disappointment is that we have no reason to have Greg and his crew return because all of our windows have been replaced! Terrible experience with Barry Metzger, he just spent almost 2 hours in our house with his partner. I put our dog outside for his comfort, thinking this wasn't going to be more than 30 min, maybe 45, and explained to him that I wasn't comfortable with leaving the dog outside for long, both for the dogs comfort, and our neighbors. Over 2 hours later, my dog is crying outside hysterically, and Barry's "oh poor little doggie" every 15 minutes has worn me real thin. I get that he's a sales man, and it's his job, but we told him several times despite his pushy sales pitches, that we weren't going to buy right now, and everytime we said no, he kept going, until I finally put my foot down and told them this consult was over and they needed to leave right now because my dog was outside in the freezing cold for his comfort. He quoted us almost $50,000 to replace our windows, and spent part of that two hours explaining to us basic science of how a window works, as if Ive never seen or used a window before. He was very patronizing to me and my sister, and thought it was funny I was annoyed with him for being so pushy. Robert, Carlos and Elvin installed 4 replacement windows and a sliding door for us last week. We're very happy with this upgrade to our home. These new windows are far more stylish and functional than the 30 year old windows that we had. The crew arrived on time, worked methodically and efficiently and they completed the work in one day. They also were very careful to put up plastic in each room and around any furniture in the room to prevent dust from accumulating. We had a sales person from Renewal by Anderson based in Cranford, NJ come out to our home recently. He was extremely nice and pleasant initially - almost too friendly. He seemed fairly knowledgeable and well spoken. When I arranged the visit they said to leave 90 minutes. Well, to make a long story short the salesman took over two and a half hours. He WASTED our afternoon - the minute we heard how MUCH $$$ he wanted for these windows we knew that this company was bad news. He had initially mentioned incentives and went over those after we could not believe the RIDICULOUS price he was asking. Lo and behold he drops the price 30% ONLY FOR TODAY. You have got to be kidding - if they can drop the price that much JUST FOR TODAY you really get an idea how much these folks are trying to RIP YOU OFF. At that point, the salesman was not as friendly as he was initially. Anyway, do not WASTE your time with this company. read more

I love my new sliding door. I was lucky to have an amazing sales rep Stan. Then I had great installers Shawn and Gill. The door in minutes changed the room and stopped the drafts. It's cozy and warm. I read some of the reviews but ask for Stan Maddison. He walked me thru ever step...they called when he said they would. The were prompt and cleaned up perfectly. I did one bay window with this company. Mateusz and Andy from Old world were the installers. They arrived on time, were super clean-wiping down and vacuuming and extremely professional. I was originally told that the job would take about 4 hours, they were literally there until the sun came down. I didn't rush them because I wanted a job well done. The window was beautiful, as the old one had rotting wood. I did receive calls after to see how everything turned out. Everyone I encountered were friendly and beyond professional. 3 stars not on the job itself but because the price was ridiculously expensive. Being a first time homeowner I did not know this. My problem started from the very beginning. Hi pressure salesman, sells door. $4500. Have a nice day. 3 weeks later, door installed by very talented installer, 9 hrs... Door will not stay shut on its own. In the Anderson world that's called spring back. Give it a couple days he said. The seal needs to break in. 1 week later, door no better. Called Anderson, oh you need to set up appt...15 mins later, No one picks up transferred call. I Called Anderson in Cranford New Jersey,"oh you need to schedule an appt". No I'm not. finally s/w operations manager Ellen, she informs me new locks are being procured, that should fix your problem....WHAT... New locks. When did this start. Door will not stay shut on its own, now you tell me locks are defective. When they finally fix my door, I will never recommend this product to anyone. read more

Three years ago, I had sliding glass doors replaced by Renewal By Anderson, so when it came time to replace my casement windows they were the logical choice. My Salesman Greg was informative and low key so that I didn't feel pressure just reasured that the job would be done. The Day of the Installation the team Of Greg and Adam arrived promptly at the assigned time. They replaced 5 casement windows, made sure that everything was covered so that nothing would get dirty. The job was done before 4 pm including an explanation of how to operate the windows. Greg and Adam couldn't have been more polite and efficient in how they went about their work. I was lucky enough to have them installed the day before the snowstorm. My condo is so warm I have to turn off the heat. Because I have a condo I had to conform to a certain style. The salesman was very pleasant and knowledgeable. They offer a wonderful guarantee. If I sell my condo, the guarantee passes to the next owner. Just this week I had Renewal by Andersen Windows installed. The installation crew was Fantastic! My sweetie who was kind enough to stand in for me for the installation process, was blown away by the meticulous way the crew worked. They are phenomenal and really know their job. I agree with other reviewers that the cost of these windows is high, but hopefully one gets quality, durability and excellent installation. One knows that the job is done right. Quality of workmanship is top priority for the product to work correctly. The consultation with the representative was intense. She was very knowledgeable and not pushy. That process took about 2 1/2 hours. The follow up visit for confirmation on measurements was very quick and again that gentleman was very informative and courteous. One problem did arise and that was an error at the factory. They missed 2 windows that were to have grids installed in the upper sashes. I have been informed by 2 sources that those have been ordered and should be in in a couple of weeks. read more

My husband and I just had some windows replaced by Renewal By Andersen and I can honestly say our experience could not have been better. Windows are NOT a cheap project, by any means - and of course you want to make sure they are installed properly. In all honesty, we were shocked to hear we needed to set aside 90 minutes for the initial consultation, as most people already know the name Andersen, and already know going into this, it's not going to be 'cheap' and it's going to be a quality window. No one loves sitting thru a sales talk but I can honestly say - it was worth it. The sales representative that came was on time, friendly, polite, actually taught us a lot about the windows we already had in our house and opened our eyes to all of the new products and materials out there. They will definitely work with you and your budget and show you the products that are available, but you have to be open minded and know that you certainly do get what you pay for. Session went a bit over the 90 minutes, but we found it great that we both had to be there so that we didn't have to try and remember everything to tell each other later and we were both able to ask any questions we had - once we chose our windows - the process was extremely smooth and easy from here on out. We had another appt scheduled for someone else to come and take measurements, and determine materials that would be needed. And then finally - the installation. We had 2 men come that made installing windows look easy!!! They were so fast and efficient - answered any questions we had - cleaned up everything - we really couldn't be happier. The final product is amazing, and now that we've seen just how efficient their process is, we're contemplating another 3 windows getting replaced. Worth every penny and we immediately saw the difference the new windows made to our home. If you're serious about getting new windows - I would highly recommend Renewal by Andersen. I am extremely pleased with the installation of my windows by Wajtek and Robert from Renewal by Anderson. They were punctual, courteous, and professional. Since I live in an older home, the windows I had were in rough shape. They did an amazing job installing all the windows, including one that had a crooked frame. I had some damaged sills/frames, which they fixed and made look much better than I could have ever imagined. Towards the late afternoon, it appeared as if it would storm (and did begin to rain for a time). This did not stop them from paying attention to detail, and I never once felt as if they were rushing to get the job done. They cleaned up thoroughly as well. Despite the job taking longer than expected due to the fact that the old windows/frames were worse than they appeared, they took their time through every step of the process. This included time at the end to show me the features of each individual window and made sure I knew how to work them. I would recommend Wajtek and Robert to anybody looking to replace their windows and look forward to seeing them when I have some more windows installed in my home! read more

I went with this company because of the "supposed" reputation of the name and after hearing how rigorous training the installers go through with caring about your home. DON'T BELIEVE IT!!!!!!! Mine were installed 12/19/17. Five minutes after walking in, they TOLD ME TO LEAVE!!!!! Against my better judgment, I did, figuring my home was in good hands. When I came back, it was discovered a few hours after they left, "making themselves at home" they moved my sofa onto my wood floors, gouging two 12" marks in them, among other areas of my floor, staining my carpet with black caulking goo and damaging my drywall. Right now the company is taking moral and financial responsibility for these irresponsible children they hired. I have to give them that, but as far as being excited about these long awaited windows, I wish I never contacted this company as none of this damage would have occurred!!! read more

I purchased $28,000 in windows got a call they were in, but it would be 2 day job so I relayed could not take off 2 days from work a nod was told had to be here so we set it up for weekend after Memorial Day holiday. Called this am 5/27 @8:00am and had the great misfortune to be transferred to Mike. When he told me I was wrong mt install date was next weekend in June I was surprised shocked even as I may forget some things but that is my wedding anniversary weekend and I would remember giving it up for a window install I figured he would check the computer and realize his mistake 5words into it he raises his voice and says "you calling me a liar" I thought oh great this guy is a creep and resorts to these tactics! I started to tell him again that I was called and told my windows were in and offered mye install date I did not call and set it up your company called me he then proceeds to tell me my windows just came in that morning mind you it is 8am I told him I found that hard to believe and his rant started up again my advice when you need windows and want an honorable company that will stand bt the installation date that THEY originally gave you and you adjusted work and social schedules to keep RUN in the other direction from Renewal by Anderson an honorable company is worth it's weight in gold. (My husband phoned back at 4pm because shocker I did not get the return call he promised after he "looked into it" and when he asked to speak to Mike he was told we have a lot of Mikes here (!) you can't make this stuff up Word of mouth travels over many many miles..... read more

I have to say how impressed am I with Renewal by Andersen. I received a phone call the day before with a time frame of when my installation would be.and they showed up right on time. GD Crew Jimmy, Hairo and Dan were very professional and polite. They covered all of my furniture so dust would not get anywhere. I though that was great. They originally told me that the job would take a day and a half because we were installing 13 windows. Well they actually completed the job in one day. I couldn't believe how fast and efficient they were. Everything was done and cleaned up by 5 o'clock. I see people complain about how expensive they are but there is always the saying ( you get what you pay for). I now don't have to worry about my windows for an extremely long time. The money was well worth it. The windows look great and we couldn't be more pleased. I would definitely recommend them. Especially if it's Jimmy, Hairo and Dan doing the job. For all the griping about price in some of these reviews, it doesn't appear that any of them actually purchased the Product itself. And in my opinion, that really isn't serving any purpose as a "review". First of all, our house is over 250 years old, originally a carriage house that has been renovated and "modernized" many times over the years, which gives it a hodge-podge sort of look... not all the windows match. We have double-hungs, gliders, vertical cranks, horizontal cranks, louvered cranks, picture windows, and handcrafted bay windows. We knew going into this project that it was going to cost us a mint, but we also knew we had to begin the process somewhere. Our sales rep arrived on time, and sat down with my wife and I and, yes the spiel was long. When she showed us the initial figure, it was out of our budget and so we decided instead of 6 windows, we'd only get 3, cutting that number in half. We were told that these terms would be available to us in the future when we chose to have the other 3 windows replaced, so if interest rates rise, we would be "locked-in" at the current number. Also attractive to us was the easy financing with no money down on a 10-year term. As I said, we knew we were going to pay, and so the option to completely finance the whole project was the seal for the deal. Install was scheduled about 3-1/2 weeks later, and the team was on time and ready to go at 8:30 am. For our 3 windows, they sent two guys, who worked together quietly and efficiently... no radio blaring and no yapping, just business. They arrived with a trailer, which they backed into our driveway. Inside the trailer they had a little workshop, with all the saws and tools necessary to do the job. Although the structure of our home is very "settled" and out-of-square at almost every corner, they were able to complete the job in about 4-1/2 hours. The install is so well done on the inside, the windows look like they've been there for years. Nothing to paint or touch up, all the moldings neatly in place and everything caulked to perfection. The outside of the windows was especially impressive, with the installer expertly matching the molding to the existing siding, and again, caulking everything cleanly. They even went "above-and-beyond" as far as I'm concerned, by caulking a troubled area of the molding at the corner of my house which was adjacent to (but not really part of) the new installation. That was greatly appreciated. So, to summarize... we are more than happy to have paid what we paid for these windows. They were easy to finance, they are a quality window and were installed impeccably within a month of our initial consult. I do not anticipate these windows failing in any way during my lifetime, and if they do they're under warranty! They look great, and we could not be happier!!! read more

After my windows were installed Saturday, I wasn't happy. Andrew and Eric didn't do a good job, clean up was terrible. They left aluminum corners and pieces all around my yard. While they were working, the wood they were taking off had nails sticking up. They are supposed to be hammered down so no one will step on it and get hurt. My husband picked up a lot of stuff in the yard, which they should have done. I have dogs and i'm still picking up pieces. Inside wasn't cleaned up much better. My neighbor had sawdust all over his driveway from them and boy, was he annoyed and made sure I knew it. They didn't have the proper molding and I had to send them to the lumber yard. One handle is missing from one window and the other handle was never put on. He said you could do it, it's easy. Is that what I paid all this money for? Last year I had a lot of work done by the Old World crew, and they were great. I have another big job I wanted Andersen to do, but at this point, I changed my mind, unless they do it for free. I called and spoke to someone on Monday and she said someone would call me... they haven't. I'll pass this information on to friends on Facebook. read more

Total HARRASSMENT!!! We requested a brochure over the summer because we are in need of new windows and saw their advertising on tv. After reading reviews, we decided to go somewhere else. They will not stop calling the house. I have told them repeatedly that we are not interested and to stop calling. Their caller id comes up with different numbers, so it is very difficult to block all of their numbers. If they can't note a file that a customer does not want to be contacted, why would anyone want to give them any business. read more

Replaced 20 windows. Done in a day and a half. GDCrew of 3 worked neatly and efficiently and were polite and friendly. Andersen is not cheap but windows and work are quality. We went with the darker, non-aluminum screens to reduce oxidation on to the glass over time and when looking in from outside they make the white window sash frames look greyish ( though framed with White aluminum capping all around each window on outside like a nice picture frame). Our siding is grey so not an issue for us. Tilt In windows will finally allow easy cleaning of outside on both floors of the house. These windows are designed to reduce harmful sun rays and the glass may look dark from outside compared to old windows. Not as obvious when looking at the sample windows. Better for your family and furnishings! read more

Like others, would really love to give zero or negative stars. These guys sent a couple of kids to knock on doors in my neighborhood in Hopewell about a week and a half ago. Our neighborhood does not permit solicitations, however they claimed to have permits from the township. Not sure why the disconnect between the township and our community association. The first mistake I made was answering the door. The second mistake I made was to continue to talk to this kid. Despite me telling the kid that there was absolutely zero chance that I would be replacing any windows, for reasons unknown to me, I continued to entertain the kid by talking to him (my bad). My third and biggest mistake was to give him my phone number (dumb me!), figuring I would just ignore the call. When the conversation progressed to the point where he was trying to get me to agree to a day and time for a 90 minute appointment, I had to put an end to it. When I said I was not going to be buying windows with 100% certainty, he realized he wasn't going to get me to agree to setting up an appointment and he finally left. What I did not expect afterwards, despite me telling the kid I was never going to buy windows, was that I would be receiving calls from them, sometimes several times a day. I received calls from at least 4 variations of phone numbers. (908) 956-80**. Do they think we are stupid and can't figure it out the phone numbers are theirs? P.S. These numbers have been added to my call blocker. They can still try to call me from another variation of that number, but just FYI to the business, I never pick up my phone EVER. :) I am kicking myself for giving them my real phone number. Clearly, I should have known better. Lesson learned. Please folks, under no circumstances should you ever give out your phone number to anyone. To Renewal by Andersen, please adopt better sales tactics. This isn't the way to do it. read more

I went to a street fair and signed up to enter into the $10,000 drawing and get a free estimate. They told me that my husband and I BOTH needed to be there for 90 minutes. One salesman came on time telling me a second would be joining us shortly. It just so happened that we had another contractor there at the same time and my husband would be going back and forth between speaking to the contractor and the salesman. The first think out of the salesman's mouth was," How long is he going to take?". As he is taking measurements of my windows, he is tearing apart the quality and saying how terrible they were. Since the windows are original to an over 50 year old house, we already knew the quality, he went a bit overboard. Then I sat through him reading to me articles and slides. I'm an educated woman, they could have sent this information ahead of time to read on my own and saved 40 minutes of time. He showed me the windows and the light/heat test- ok fine. Then he priced it out for me and then gave me a 1 time "deal" that I COULDN'T pass up. When I said we weren't ready to make a decision that day, he went on and on about how if he leaves, the deal if off the table and I would have to pay the first price and that in his experience, "No one ever comes back and buys with the higher price." While that's all fine and dandy, we made it clear we just wanted an estimate and would be making a decision at later point. The saleman then told us that by saying that we didn't want to use the product and to just be straight with him. Because of his attitude and unwillingness to let it go that we would not be making a decision that day, he did completely turn me off to the product. I didn't like that he tore apart EVERY other company and the fact that when I told him he was being to pushy and I didn't appreciate it, he kept going for about 10 minutes before he finally left. Renewal needs to adjust their sales strategy, the rudeness of the sales people and the 1 time deal only was a huge turn off. read more

IF I COULD HAVE ZERO STARS I WOULD MARK THAT! DO NOT CALL THEM. I made an inquiry in April 2014 about setting up an appointment for a quote. I had to cancel the appointment and I gave them 3 days notice. In the meantime I did more research and found another company. Renewal continued to call almost every other day, despite the fact that I told them I went with another company. Their favorite trick is to call at 9:30am on Sundays! That has happened 6 times despite the fact that I have told them to take me off their call list; requested to speak to a manager (he was nasty). The calls finally tapered off, but in the last few days (this is 8/5/14) it is terrible - SIX CALLS today, FOUR calls yesterday, FOUR calls the day before - and the days before that had at least one call a day for the previous 3 weeks! They use a different # sometimes - sometimes it is a different extension, sometimes the last four #s are totally different. BEWARE: 908-956-8078, 908-956-8012, 908-956-8014, 908-956-8011. Today I called them back and threatened to file a harassment complaint with the police department. We will see what happens! read more

I've had all of my windows replaced by RbA in 2 stages and have had nothing but excellent experiences. I also had the bay window in my living room replaced and I am extremely pleased with the quality. Recently, I received a call from their office letting me know that there may have been a problem with the caulk used to seal the windows in the bay. A tech was sent, explained the situation to me, and took measurements that would be used to determine if I had an issue. Within a few days, I received a callback to let me know that the sashes in my bay were going to be replaced free of charge. Two techs came yesterday, as scheduled, and installed the new sashes in about an hour. Looks GREAT! And to offset any inconvenience or cost, they are sending me a refund to cover the cost of refinishing the sashes. I have to say that choosing Renewal by Anderson was the best decision I've made in the 22 years I've owned my home. I recommend them to anyone looking for great products and great customer service! read more

I had all my windows replaced in my house, plus 2 sliding doors, about 25 windows in all. The process was easy as can be from the initial call, to the completed installation. Once the windows were on site, it took 2 days to install. The installers were extremely professional and as nice as could be going the extra distance to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. They left the house cleaner than when they arrived! The company followed up a number of times after installation to make sure everything was ok. About a month or so after the installation I needed an adjustment on one of the patio doors, so I called the service number and a day later someone showed up to fix it, no problem at all. FYI, if you want feedback from an actual customer who went through the whole process from start to finish and looking for a top quality product then I would recommend Renewal by Andersen as a company who you should consider very strongly. read more

i called to make an appointment to get a estimate to replace all my windows . on the day of the appointment i get a call that the guy that was coming to my house called in sick and nobody else was able to come. i called back to make another appointment and they could not find my information ,when they did they set me up for another appointment. the day before they called to confirm and i told them that if the guy was to call in they had better send somebody else. well the next day what a surprise got a call saying the guy had to go out of town on family business. then wanted to make another appointment, i said no thanks and hung up . thought the service would have been better read more
