I called to set up an appointment for an estimate to replace some windows. It appears the call was answered by something like a call center. While polite, the man on the phone was VERY pushy insisting that my wife and I MUST be home when the estimate is being done. I explained that that was not likely to happen and the man became more insistent coming up with lame reasons why both homeowners should be there. I again said that was not going to happen and more garbage reasons were presented. Clearly they plan for a high pressure situation to make the sale at the time of the estimate. Their sales representative Kristian was so rude and horrible to deal with. She made this experience painful to go through. The actual service technicians were fantastic, on time and very efficient. If your sales representative is Kristian ask for someone else or you will regret it. read more

"London Bridge is falling down" are the opening words to a popular nursery rhyme. Like London Bridge, our windows were falling down, failing to stay in place when opened. The windows dropped quickly, frightening our cats, Ginger and Spice, who often slept on the window sills, at great peril. As they leaped to safety, their hearts skipped a beat, as did ours. My wife and I contracted with Renewal by Andersen to replace 12 windows, and on the scheduled day, Amir and his team arrived promptly and began removing the defective windows and installing new ones, with Energy Star ratings. Amir and his co-workers covered furniture with plastic to insure it kept free of dust, minimized the creation of debris, carted away all old windows and frames and completed their work in two days. The team acted professionally, and even avoided playing music, so I could operate my home-based business, without disruption. At the end of their work, Amir showed me how to tilt the upper and lower windows for easy cleaning, and provided me with information on potential tax savings available with our new energy-efficient windows. Now, neither our new Renewal by Andersen windows, nor London Bridge, are falling down. This company is horrible to deal with. First it took 7 months between time of purchase to install. Installation was in the winter and when I opened my windows the first time this spring, I noticed a gap at the bottom of the screen. They sent someone out to take a look and they estimated a couple weeks for the repair. I went the entire summer not being able to open this window. It has been 6 months and still no repair. No one will return my call and I feel completely taken advantage of. Shop around and find a different company. The customer service is completely unacceptable. read more

They went to my mother's house and talk to her without anyone there and for 5 Windows wanted $15000. She felt pressured to sign the contract. They set her up with a financail company which she did not want. We have tried to cancell and got the run around from the sales person until the last day and then called and said this is what you need to do but it has to be postmarked by that day or it will not be cancelled. And she went though them before and has a drafty window which we called about to get the warranty and never called back, But my mother is forgetful and I feel that then need to stop taking advantage of people read more

After watching a video about the company, the proposal for Approx $28,000(with a discount ) was an absolute waste of time and frustrating- so much time was wasted with this salesperson. I had a three-man team come out to remove my old, shoddy window and install a new, classic bay.. there was a ron, and an adam, and a third, younger bearded gentleman who's name escapes me who came and did the work (on a saturday, thankfully!) - they were professional and efficient,. they took time to let me in on any snags and to show me what was going on during the process. good work! read more

We scheduled an estimate for a front door installation after meeting a rep from this company at an event in Troy. While the salesman they sent was very nice, prompt and polite, he did not even attempt to work within our budget. In fact, he never asked our budget, nor did he let us know the different pricing levels of product. That's pretty standard when trying to sell products but, maybe because of our age, the salesman assumed we aren't savvy about these things. He was here at our home for the better part of an hour while measuring doors and telling us about materials. When that was complete, the estimate he wrote up was for $6,391. Talk about sticker shock. He then told us he could give us a "break" for $5,400. I want to make it clear: This is for one front door with a glass window, delivered and installed. One door. A normal door that you would see on the front of any home. Not a double-door, not a sliding door, not an organic, free-range artisanal door coated with coconut oil... A door with a knob. After wasting an hour of our time we (obviously) declined this company's services. I understand working for commission but this was pretty unprofessional. We will instead be painting the door we already have and replacing the knobs. read more

Made appt based on good reviews and met with rep who showed up on time and seemed to be nice. They were very adamant that my wife and I be there so we took off work. Very thorough spending almost 2-hrs measuring and working through out options (16 windows and a door) Told us he would have a quote by the end of the weekend because he was going to work late for us. That was 2 weeks no call or email since. I also sent email - no response It is actually a little funny because he seemed so sincere. We will get another quote and see if they will take our money :) ....at least this happened before they started work Update - The salesman sent a message to the correct email apologizing for apparently sending quote to wrong email. This review may come off as a little snarky (most of mine are pos) mainly because they have called several times asking to update social media but never attempted to follow-up prior to reviewing here and have never stated why they did not respond to my email or my VM. Which says to me that they are much more concerned about their public perception than their service. read more

I can't say this company takes the cake in bad customer service. I CAN say that they spit in the batter, dropped it on the floor, and still served it. I have never used their services, and when I emailed them it was in regards to their advertising instead of service. They did not respond to said email, which was fine. What wasn't fine was they took my email address and signed it up for email subscriptions. Way to go abusing information. read more

I called for an estimate, one of four estimates I got, to replace all the windows in my house. The three other estimates were in the $8 - 9K range, varying only by a few hundred dollars. Replacement by Anderson quoted me $51,000!!! More than 5 times as much as everyone else? And that was after I refused the upsell attempts. I obviously did not hire them. That was ridiculous. I don't know what kind of work they do, or about the quality of the windows, so all I can do is say, be prepared to overpay if you hire them. read more

The guy who came to our house made several misleading claims including (1) he was selling us Andersen Series 400 window; (2) he was making us a "one time only" special offer; (3) Renewal by Andersen had many satisfied customers, but new privacy laws prohibited him from giving out references for us to call; and (4) the repairs needed to install the windows would be no problem and included in the price. Because of the repairs that Renewal by Andersen was willing to do, we signed a contract for $11,500 for six windows, which is roughly the same price that Home Depot offered for the Series 400. After months of haggling over the repairs, we discovered that we hadn't even purchased the Series 400 because Renewal by Andersen is a franchise that only sells composite windows. We also learned that the price wasn't a "one time offer" and that we should have been given local references to contact. Renewal by Andersen has been a nightmare to deal with, and we're so sorry we ever answered the fliers they repeatedly send to trusting people like us. read more

Ron and Todd came out today and replaced our very large bay window. They were very professional and courteous. They took their time with everything-it was an all day install. Ron measured and re-measured multiple times throughout the entire process. They cleaned up everything afterwards. Yes, these windows are more expensive than most competitors, but you are also paying for the better installation, warranty and follow-up service if needed. We had five windows put in four years ago and can testify that this is a company that follows up when you need something. They were prompt in scheduling a salesman to come out. However, it took 10 days for him to get back to me after I called him to follow up several times. On top of that, his "professional estimate" consisted of a poorly written email from his personal address and his estimate for 10 windows was at least TWICE what everyone else quoted me. Their windows and install service might be good, but it can't be that good, and based on first impressions i wouldn't expect much. read more

Had an appointment scheduled for Thursday, 9/27 at 2:00 pm. Received a call around 11:00 am telling me the rep was running behind and would not be able to make it. We rescheduled for today, 10/1 at 2:00. Received a voice mail and text over the weekend to call an Ashley back (. No explanation as to why). I was away for the weekend so I called back this morning. I spoke to a Kathy; she told me that because I didn't call Ashley back sooner I lost my appointment slot and would have to reschedule. Terrible way to treat prospective customers. I would never use Anderson windows again. Built my home full of glass windows and realized 10 years after they were installed that ANDERSON never sealed one of the windows. All of the water from the rain went into the basement over the 10 years rotted the wood and destroyed the structure. ANDERSON never made good on it and they had me speak to their attorney who never compensated me for all of the damage. Never use Anderson windows! read more

We just had 9 new windows installed in our living and dining rooms. Four men arrived at the appointed time and set right to work tearing out the old windows. They worked very efficiently and completed a pretty large job in 7 hours. They cleaned up their mess and took all the old windows, trash etc with them.
