    Thursday Special Menu
    Kevin G.

We have never felt so UNWELCOME at any restaurant, EVER as we were made to feel here today. We arrived at around 1:40 and apparently, they close at 2:00 PM. Although, there are no hours posted on the door where the days of the week are posted and the hours are not posted but, we knew they closed early. We went there to try the panini's although, Thursdays are a special baked potato day, only baked potatoes. We both thought this sounded heavy for a late lunch but, ok we will adjust since we wanted to try this place. When our food was ready at nearly 2:00 PM, we were sitting at a communal style table, drinking our water and tea and she plopped our food down in front of us in a to-go bag. Thinking perhaps she misheard us, I asked, and she said you can stay but we are closed. Ok, a hot lunch to go, is not what we wanted. We both felt a very cold unwanted feeling and that she wanted us to leave. Forty dollars, inclusive of a tip for lunch and go eat in your car, don't let the door hit you is exactly how we felt. After being stunned by the complete lack of awareness or southern hospitality, we concluded we were not welcome and should leave. This is literally the worst we have been treated by anyone, at any establishment since our arrival to Mobile on February 1st of 2025. In my eyes, if they were closing and us eating there was going to be an issue, perhaps a warning such as, we are closing our doors promptly at 2:00 and we can make your order but, it will have to be a to go order. I would have simply opted to eat somewhere else and tried them again another day. Instead, we were forced to eat in my wife's car who has never allowed food in her car since day 1 in 2015. This was a hot meal, and we still had things to do after lunch. We ate our food in the parking lot and were done by 2:05 and gone by 2:06. Both my wife and I have concluded, we will never return. People should understand when they make people feel this way, they lose a customer, and he / me writes reviews for everywhere we do business on both Yelp and Google to share with others. Perhaps the owner will feel about this review like she made my wife, and I feel in her place of business. We eat out 3-5 (breakfast, lunch and / or dinners) times per week so my comment of ever in the beginning says a great deal. We have scratched this place off our list of restaurants. For the owner, you literally ruined our great day we were having. Thanks for nothing. Maybe this is a one off, maybe not, but we are not even willing for a second chance after being treated this way. I will typically give three chances for any place to make a better impression, but this place crossed a line that can't be uncrossed. Oh, the food, it was two stuffed baked potatoes for forty dollars, it was ok.

Reney's Honey Butter is the cutest cottage ever! The decor is what reels you in as you immediately walk In the door. Lisa and Meredith were so sweet and helpful. I found exactly what I was looking for and was able to order the best muffin I've been had in my entire life. The Apple Cinnamon muffin alone is enough to make me drive 20 minutes to get another one. I also had the cinnamon butter that took this treat into overdrive. It's worth the drive so make sure you check them out. I also loved the sweet little inspirational message that Meredith writes on the bag.

First let me say I've been meaning to try this cute little cottage for quite some time. I finally decided today was the day. For those of us who live in West mobile or Midtown, there is a scenic drive to the cottage. It's no more than 15 - 20 minutes, just relax and enjoy the ride. As soon as you pull into the driveway, you see this cute cottage. But not until you're inside, do you realize, this is a such a gem. Because we're still dealing with Covid-19, there is a sign on the door kindly asked did you wear a mask. Once inside, you notice a beautiful sitting area, coffee bar, a larger seating area, and an area set aside for unique and delicious treats. Meredith and Lisa are so welcoming. The cottage had just a warm vibe and they're customer service was exceptional. Reney's offers their packaged togo butters in a refrigerated case. I was so impressed to see they offered other items, in the same case, from local businesses and small business in the South. Such a generous thing to do. I placed my order for the Chocolate Banana bread and they recommended Toffee butter. I picked up a coffee Velvet Ice Latte from PJ's Coffee (Spanish Fort, AL) out of the refrigerated case. Let's go ahead and jump into this Banana bread and Toffee butter. WOW!! Yes, the warm banana bread was great. It was moist, delicious, full of flavor, incredible!! But let me tell you about this Toffee butter, it was so light with little bits of toffee in the butter. I carefully, with reservation, spread a small amount atop this incredible slice of banana bread. The first bite, what the what!!! I decided to go for it. Grabbed the knife and did what I know you would do, scooped, yes scooped, a dollop of butter onto the bread and leap to my feet in a happy dance. The butter paired with the bread will make you want to take a step back or let's say a step towards the butter to spread more on top of that bread. Yummy!! I decided while I was there to support some of the other local businesses by purchasing more than a few items. Cue the pictures :-) I didn't notice until I got in the car to place my bags on the seat, a message "Keep Smiling" was written on the bag with my banana biread. Thanks Lisa. I'm wrapping up this review because I'm going to the park to run 3.5 miles to burn off this Banana bread and Toffee Butter but it was worth it. I bought a few of the butters because I plan on using them on breads and in recipes. They have a great resource on the website for recipes that pair well with each butter. Let's get cooking with the Reney's honey butter.

Ordered a savory butter sampler earlier in the week and picked up Saturday morning for date night-home edition- on Saturday night. Included was a horseradish chive butter that I used as a topper for a couple of filets. Reney's didn't disappoint! It was great melted over the steak with just a little bite from the horseradish! So delicious! The package came also with a chipotle butter, tomato basil Parmesan, Nashville Hot and Bang Bang and I'm so excited to try them. Totally has inspired me and l can't wait to get back in the kitchen to make something new! Not sure if these will be added to their permanent menu, but they should be!

    Yum! Cinnamon honey butter

Gahhh! Such a cute, quaint cottage packed with so much goodness! Reney's had such great baked goods, snacks, and local favorite in store. You can grab Guncles and a few other local makers' items here. Hubs and I stopped by for croissants this morning and loved them. You must try the honey butters (cinnamon is my absolute fave), and I cannot wait to get down on these hot chocolate bombs I scooped up today! YAY!

    Paige R.

Yum!!! Delicious and locally sourced. The Fuego Panini is so yummy! I love the perfect blend of cheese and jalapeño butter. My boss got the lone star potato and was really impressed by the crispy potato skin and the well cooked brisket on top. Will definitely go back again and again!

Blueberry bagel, chocolate chip bagel, biscuit and the most delicious toffee butter ever.

Reney's Honey Butter, Villa Del Rey Cocina Mexicana and Domke Market make a great team. Due to coronavirus we had our order brought out "curbside" by Domke Market. An awesome friend of ours called it in as a surprise. So exciting! Bubbly, tacos, chips and salsa, chocolate chip bagels, blueberry bagels, Toffee butter, biscuits and fruit. Best Quarantine (social distancing) ever!

Even before she opened The Cottage, I had always loved buying her butters from Domke Market and Old Shell Market....they are amazing! Pumpkin, toffee, cookies and cream, cinnamon, strawberry, blueberry; Ive tried many and they're all awesome. After recently opening up her own store, I've made a couple trips in, and each time they are great. The cottage offers seating, coffee, an assortment of bakery goods/pastries and of course her famous butter. I just recently tried her bagels and fruity pebbles butter and they are sooo good! I didn't know what to expect, but it brought me back to my childhood in a matter of seconds So yum! Definitely a must try if you're in the area. Also on Fridays she welcomes a different food truck each week to park at her store and stays open later. Just a fun way to come together in the community. Super sweet owner and staff!

Sweet message hand written on your bag

West Mobile is lucky to have this little gem! Currently, they just serve a grab and go breakfast, but I believe that's just the start of great things to come. I've had Reney's honey butter after buying it from local markets, so I was already a fan of the main product. The place is cute, and you couldn't ask for better customer service. I love when I'm asked "is this your first time here" - I was greeted with a warm "hello" followed by that question. The lady at the register (sorry, didn't get her name - my bad) was quick to go over the menu with me and make a suggestion. I ordered three things off their grab and go menu - a biscuit, a blueberry muffin, and the chocolate banana loaf. Each item comes with a generous serving of honey butter. I can't review the blueberry muffin because I delivered it to a friend, but I chose the cinnamon butter for that. I had the peach butter with the biscuit and, as recommended, the toffee butter with the chocolate banana loaf. Both butters were so good. The chocolate banana loaf with the toffee butter won me over and now I'll have to hold myself back from visiting daily. I love that they write sweet little inspirational messages on your brown bag order. I hope they never get away from doing that. The other exciting thing about this shop is that they'll be bringing food trucks to WeMo on Fridays! I usually have to trek over to midtown or downtown for that, so it'll be nice to have a variety of trucks visiting this side of town (that isn't parked in a doctor's office parking lot for their employees!!). One last thing - she has a shelf loaded down with other local food products. Great place to grab a gift or something for your own kitchen.

Does your food truck get to Gulf Shores or Orange Beach? How about special events like sausage festival? I ask because the Bleus Burger food truck has been showing up at lots of the area events. I'm looking forward to checking you guys out.

Hey! We don’t actually have a Food Truck of our own! We have a location in West Mobile where we bring in a rotation of food trucks for lunch on Fridays! You never know what the future holds though! Thanks for checking!

We were floored by the robust flavor of each of the homemade gravies. They have a tomato gravy, a sausage gravy, and a redeye gravy. The texture of the gravy was not too thick and none of them were greasy. We each ate a plate of homemade biscuits and in-house made gravy. Although the biscuits and gravy seem like a small serving, the dish is really an adequate meal. We got lucky and found one of the few non metered spots on the street. The restaurant was a bit busy when we arrived, but they where able to seat us promptly. The service was good. Our table ordered several items off the brunch/breakfast menu. I had the Seafood Eggs Benedict. For the most part this was a solid eggs benedict. However the shrimp were away overcooked and rubbery. They were a bit smallish and just not worth the time or charge. Hands down the best part about the dish was the Honey Ham. It was flavorful and there was a good bit included on the dish. In general it was fine, but not exactly worth the $18 it cost. Cubed Hashbrowns: I mixed bag. Every order at the table the Hashbrowns came out a bit different. Mine were undercooked and crunchy inside, I like them overcooked and crispy. Others at the table had them crunch and almost burnt. You can have them come with cheese and onions. I suggest this upgrade. Others at the table had: Eggs Cathedral: Needed salt. The same dry shrimp as the other dishes. Another dish that just did not seem to justify the cost. BLT Croissant: Was an ok looking sandwich, there was a good amount of bacon on the sandwich, however most of it was very well done. $15 Kids "Egg Breakfast: 1 egg, 1 Meat, 1 Toast. Looked fine. Spot of Tea was not a bad meal and there is good diversity to the Breakfast menu. However nothing the table had has was great, just mostly good. The Shrimp however were just bad. It seems that they are cooked in batches early in the day and added to dishes as needed. So I would personally avoid the "jumbo" shrimp dishes. Side note on the shrimp they are the same one that was added to the bloody marry cocktail. I think the biggest hang-up is the price to quality ratio. If you are in the area and want an eggs benedict you may want to give them a try. For me however I think there are better options to get full in the area.
