The last time I had it in the mall years ago was one of the worst sloppy gross pizzas I've ever had in my life. This time was great! A little soggy in the middle, but that was my only complaint. Their pizza is usually good, but we had fish fries from there on Friday and they were awful. The baked potato was not baked in the middle and the fish was so overcooked that I couldn't cut through the breading which had pulled away from the fish. I hope they were just having a bad night! read more

A focus on the core - The pizza Growing up in northern PA Renna's was the pizza to get while in between rounds of games at the arcade in the Olean mall. The mall is barely alive now but flagship Renna's somehow is still there. This trip back to the north I tried their other location on the other side of town in Olean. The location still feels very much like a hole in the wall, as many places do in rural areas like this. Reading reviews online I was worried the pizza I fondly remembered was going to disappoint; however, I was pleased to find it met my expectations. If you went to Renna's in the '90s you know the way their pizza shop is supposed to smell, and you got this walking in the door. We ordered a large pizza with pepperoni, sausage, and mushrooms on half. They immediately went to work tossing the dough and prepping our pie. A relatively short wait later our number was called and we got that slightly greasy yet still crunch crusted deliciousness. Renna's you will keep me making the trek back to Olean as long as you keep it up! Some comments talked to things not focused on the main thing here to me, the pizza. Get a pizza that is classic with normal toppings and you shouldn't be disappointed. Also, highly recommend ordering a whole pie instead of a slice or two. You know it is made fresh and coming out hot. Is it at cheap as the chain pizza place across the street? No. But it tastes so much better and if you grew up on it you'll be brought back to Saturday mornings in your mind. read more

It's too bad even the new owners could care less what kind of product they're sending out the door. Ziti dinner was served cold for some reason(unlike the 1000 times I've ordered it before. Completely forgot the mozzarella that goes on it,and as I watched it come out of kitchen,it was never baked. Portions are much smaller as well. My husband grew up in the McKean County area and frequently made the drive to Renna's in the mall. Since childhood he moved to the South but continued to trek to Renna's when he visited PA. The building may not be updated and modern, the employees may not extend what I am used to for southern hospitality, but the pizza tastes the same as it did when I started eating Renna's almost two decades ago. Simplicity is key with classic pizza restaurants. This time around we purchased a pepperoni, sausage, and mushroom pizza. The pizza to toppings ratio was perfect, not too much and not too little. Was it a little pricey? Sure! Were we impatient and burned the roofs of our mouths as we rushed into that first slice? Of course! But was the pizza perfectly foldable with a soft interior crust and crunchy outside and bottom? Absolutely! Ordered 4 pizzas on Slice. When I got there to pick it up they told me it had already been picked up. Not by me! They never asked for my confirmation email. Had to go through Slice to get a refund. Slice was very cooperative. Mia gelato, not so much. Had to wait another 40 minutes for more pizzas and pay for them again. Pizzas were terrible, burned on the bottom, barely any cheese and very little pepperoni. We'll NEVER be back! If I could choose less than one star I would!!! read more

The pizza here is usually good but definitely not today got a extra large chicken wing pizza and it was dry and over cooked. Not worth $23

My husband and and I ordered pizza and chicken wings and when my husband arrived home, everything was cold. The chicken wings were barely edible and we had to reheat the pizza in the oven to eat it. I called the restaurant to complain (which I never do!) and the manager kept saying that he had "no logical reason why it would be cold." He basically ended the conversation without any attempts to fix the problem. My husband said the building is dirty and that this outcome did not surprise him. I used to love Renna's pizza and it certainly does not seem the same. I can't believe that nobody has written a review of Renna's "new" location yet...I hate to be redundant, but this is basically just a copy and paste of my review of their mall location. Renna's is my gold standard of pizza. It's the pizza I was raised on and the pizza that I compare all other pizzas to. It's thin and crispy with just enough sauce and absolutely perfect, slightly greasy cheese. There are very few restaurants that I have been to in my life where the quality is exactly the same now as it was when I had my first slice 30 years ago. They have the most awesome homemade lemon, lime and orangeades too. The mall location is better than their "new" standalone store. I don't know why...it should be the same, right?...but it's not. I don't know if it's that it doesn't feel quite as casual or that it's always a little messier with tables and chairs askew or if the ordering process seems a little more hectic (ordering your pizza at the mall location is like the Seinfeld "Soup Nazi" episode) or if they have too many other items that distract from the pizza. The last few times that I've come home and told my Dad that I want to go to Renna's, he always brings me here (because it's "closer" to Salamanca). I always feel a little disappointed... read more

This is the first time we are eating here in a while, and I am so disappointed in cleanliness, atmosphere, attitude of the staff, and the food. The actual restaurant was so dirty and disgusting. There were multiple dirty tables, the floor was filthy, and the bathroom needed much attention. The staff was not friendly at all and offered zero help with getting food to our table. As for the food, it was just bleh. There was zero flavor in the calzone and the pizza was not great( not a lot of cheesy and slightly undercooked). Now I've been to this establishment a few times, each of the previous times the food was outstanding. We generally order the same thing when we come here for my son, chicken tenders with mild buffalo sauce and fries. Anyway on this visit I ordered the stuffed shells which were great, and ordered the chicken tenders, the chicken parm sub and the chicken tender sub. All of the chicken tenders were way over cooked but my wife and brother over looked it because it was on a sub, so not a huge issue. My son however had the chicken tenders and fries, the tenders were over cooked and hard as a rock, I could barely cut them with the knife. I went up to the cook station and requested new tenders because of them being over cooked, I wasn't rude and I asked politely. Anyway the next 10 minutes were very uncomfortable because three of the staff members were obviously staring at my family and talking about us, we could hear them, see them staring at us and I can also read lips. Anyway finally the tenders are done and the cook comes from the kitchen and makes a remark I could only partially hear but said in a very sarcastic voice "here let's try this for the second time" and then followed with something I couldn't make out, but again the cooks laughed and then continued talking amongst themselves, while obviously staring straight through our souls. This was the first time I've ever felt uncomfortable there and generally it is a great atmosphere. All I asked was for them to make some new tenders. Not only did I get another serving of overdone tenders, but my family had to feel uncomfortable because someone couldn't correct a mistake without being a clown about it. read more

My husband and I have eaten at Mio Gelato a few times now and we are both impressed with their dinner menu and the prices. The serving sizes are large and the food was hot and delicious . The first time we ate we both ordered our own meal, only to find it was way to much food for one person to eat. the second and third times we ordered one main dish, which we shared and it was plenty for two. they didn't charge for an extra plate like most restaurants do and they went out of their way to see to it we had what we needed. Your best bet is a plain pepperoni pie, although their thinly-sliced sausage pieces and banana peppers make good toppings too. Just the right amount of cheese and crust. My husband and I went to Mio Gelato's to celebrate and it was our treat!! My son ordered 2 slices of chicken wing pizza, I ordered a julliene salad, my husband ordered a cup of broccoli cheese soup and an sausage sandwich with peppers and onions and my daughter-in-law and grandson ordered a regular cheese and pepperoni pizza. Well, I got my salad first, then my husband got his sandwich but no soup, later we went up to ask about the soup and the pizza. Well the cashier forgot to order the soup and did not charge us. My husband said forget it then. Still we were waiting for the pizza. Come to find out no one had placed the order. We arrived and ordered at 8:13 PM and we found out that the pizza was just put in the oven at 8:45PM . So my daughter-in-law, told them that the pizza would have to be boxed up to be taken home. I have been told that a take out pizza is ready in 20 mins. So our pizza took 50 mins. This is not acceptable by no means. So, customers be ware of such service and choose to go some place else to eat!!! We will never return to this establishment again!! There is no excuse for the delay when we were all there. It would have been better to order take out and go pick it up. We were all hungry when we got home but what does that matter?????? I'm truly unsatisfied with the service I just received at Mio Gelatos, and wouldn't recommend them solely for the customer service. I ordered at large pepperoni pizza, not thinking that it was the most difficult pizza to deal with and said I'd come back and get it. When I returned I had someone else run in to get the pizza since my newborn was screaming in the vehicle, 10 minutes later my friend had still had not returned, so I went inside while my friend watched the baby and come to find out they gave my pizza away! Then have the gall to ask if I wanted to wait while they made another one, and I'll remind you my child is still in the car screaming. So I told them no obviously, and instead of saying let me compensate you for waiting and the mixup since that good customer service they just decided giving my money back would be satisfactory. read more

The food is okay I guess you would call it a gold standard if you've only lived in Olan your whole life and never tried anything else. Living in a bigger city I have tried hundred of other pizza places that taste just like rennas only difference is it is nowhere near as expensive. A large pizza will run you anywhere from 20-25 dollars here which I find insane.
