Prices have gone way up, but portions and quality have gone down. I'm not spending $21 on a small average tasting piece of lasagna then paying like $4 to add a basic side salad on. This is sad because we used to drive over an hour to go there. We heard from someone at the bar at another local place that they think the reason why L'Italia changed so much is because it has different owners now. Our last visit it was a chilly rainy windy day and it was uncomfortably cold in their dining room. The music was also too loud. L'Italia has excellent dinner salads that have been getting smaller and smaller, except for the price. The salads that feature Shrimp would be SO MUCH BETTER if the shrimp was grilled. I've felt that way for years, but nothing has ever changed. Seeing a few gluten-free options on the menu would be wonderful, too. The dessert offerings never change. I think a small change in the type of cheesecake would be phenomenal. Being at the beginning (and the end) of the World's Shortest St Patrick's Day Parade on Main St in Wellsville, Casey and his staff handled a robust and crowded St Patrick's Day! Shelly and I stopped in for something to eat after the parade and were not disappointed. Stuffed Manicotti for Shelly...delicious and too much to finish in one sitting. Who puts coleslaw on a beer battered fish sandwich? L'talia does! Wow! Best fish sandwich I've ever had! We worked our way up to the bar where as you'd expect it was very busy. The ambiance is lovely, the waitresses are attentive. However, some of the food isn't quite up to par, for example, the shrimp scampi sauce tastes off to me. I've ordered it twice to see if the first dish was a fluke but it wasn't. I don't know if there was too much wine or lemon juice, but the butter taste doesn't come through, or perhaps the olive oil. read more

My children recently had a surprise birthday party for me at L'Italia . I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. The food was wonderful and the charcuterie boards were not only beautiful but delicious with a huge selection of delicacies. The service was excellent with the wait staff in constant attendance. Where to begin...My wife and I decided to go out for a nice dinner..Do not believe the local reviews..This place was horrible in everyway..We had a very nice waitress who was having to bartend on top of waiting on tables. This place is very poorly managed..Management must be asleep at the wheel...We don't really care about what a meal cost when's its good...To quote my wife..That was subpar slop..She now has horrible stomach ache and suspects the meatballs were bad...Sauce was really not good..I had a Chicken Parm sandwich which would have been better if a 3 year old microwaved a chicken patty and threw some cheese and ragu on it..Dried out murdered chicken with absolutely no flavor other then perhaps the grill when it was made 3 days ago.... This is an economically depressed area.. Seem like good and kind people...Management should be ashamed charging a couple $80 dollars for a meal. The chef is asleep..Taste the food..Quality test what your putting out......Honor your customers and prepare quality food!!! We will never step foot here again when visiting!! Went to L'Italia again after we had a bad experience a few years ago. I was not impressed with my dinner. I ordered eggplant Parm. It tasted good but could have had more sauce. I was very surprised at the amount of pasta. They only gave about a half of a cup. They made up for the lack of pasta with a lot of broccoli, that wasn't even mentioned on the menu. I do not like broccoli so that got passed on to my daughter and grand daughter. My grand daughter wouldn't eat it and my daughter said that it was very over cooked and tasted like fish. Another thing is that they don't have any salt, pepper, grated cheese or crushed red pepper on the table. Some of the things that we ordered needed to be seasoned. We are not use to asking for every little thing when dining out. Not sure if I will go back. It was too high priced for what we got. This was just my meal. This is our "go to" place and has been for many years. Although it changed hands a while ago, the quality remains consistently good! The pizza is great and the specials are creative and delicious. Such a great restaurant. I remember the day of the old owners and was so happy that things are still amazing. They took care of my mother's memorial dinner and from day one in planning to the event itself, things went smoothly. Jasmine worked closely with us an accommodated our special requests. The menu to choose from was varied and large. Great appetizers and wonderful buffet. We had pizzas, pasta, dips, salad and pannis as well as the best grilled chicken ever. We had lunch delivered to our workplace on Tuesday. The food was delicious, prepared perfectly. We ordered online and almost all of us had special instructions. The bread this place bakes for the sandwiches is so good. Our order was delivered within the time frame given and was hot when it was delivered. I was back in Wellsville after many years. i went to this restaurant because one of my university teachers suggested to me. The food is good. The portobello mushroom appetizer was very tasty. For my entree, the pasta was a little overcooked but the "buffalo sauce" and the crumbs of bleu cheeese made me forget about it. The presentation of the restaurant was great. It is a nice upscale place in the area. We ordered bruschetta for an appetizer that was seaasoned well but cooked until the bread was the consistency of a crouton. One of my daughters ordered Chicken Scallopini with red potatoes and broccoli. Her chicken was seasoned well but she said it the chicken itself was dry. She didn't care for the red potatoes because she expected them to be roasted a little more crIspy. My wife and my youngest daughter both ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were the size of their fists and had good flavor. My wife didn't life the flavoring of her sauce. I tasted it and hers had a heavy oil taste but my daughters didn't. They looked like they had different sauces on them. My wife's was more of a liquid consistency and my daughters more of a thick sauce. My daughters was good. When I brought it up to the waiter he said he didn't know why. I ordered a ribeye steak, rare, with roasted potatoes. The steak did have good flavor but was a little more done than I like. It was more medium to medium well. I didn't complain or send it back because I never waste steak. I enjoyed our experience here but the food wasn't good enough for me to plan a night out there again. Neither felt involved and this is pretty off putting considering both my visits were on valentine's day. My most recent visit however our actual waiter was excellent. Super enthusiastic, well spoken, and extremely friendly. The food is pretty excellent. When it comes to pasta they know what they're doing. However meat here is kind of underwhelming. Sauces are well seasoned and bold. The atmosphere is bright and open. Big windows and high ceilings make this place feel very roomy. Music is kind of random. For whatever reason during half of my meal we were listening to reggae music in an Italian restaurant. This place has good pasta, come for that. Don't expect excellent service but if you want a fancy Italian dish, there isn't much else to go to around here. read more

I've been to L'Italia a few times before and it was pretty good, but last night's Valentine's Day dinner was pretty disappointing. Like others have said, the ambiance was nice, but clearly, they were overwhelmed by having a mostly full dining room. Our server was friendly, but must have been juggling 20 tables. Drinks didn't take long, but everything else did. Our calamari was okay, but salty. Soups and salads came next. My wife didn't have a fork. After about 10 minutes, we were able to tell the waiter, but it took another 20 minutes before a fork came. He was apologetic. My entree, Filet Oscar, was expensive at $32, and not worth it. The steak was way overcooked (I received medium-well, when I asked for medium-rare) and there was not enough lobster to merit the price tag. My wife got cannelloni and subsequently spent the rest of the night feeling quite Ill. Perhaps food safety wasn't at its best when L'Italia got busy. The quality sure wasn't at its best. Like I said, I've been there a few times before and it was much better - quality food and service, but last night was pretty disappointing in several ways. read more

Very sad to say I had a horrible experience at this restaurant. We had reservations and while I understand large groups are hard, they knew we were coming. After an hour wait for food, everyone in my party was served but me. I was lucky my friends gave me some of their pizza as I waiting on chicken parmesan. After another half hour I told them I no longer wanted my food. Where I was told by management it took that long to cook. Management was not at all nice nor try to anything to make it better and I never even got "I am sorry". They ultimately took it off my beer however did nothing for the other memebers of my party that had to wait for there food and also had a horrible experience with management. My Aunt from NJ came to visit, insisting on going to this restaurant. Our order consisted of 2 orders of Manicotti and 1 Mushroom Swiss Burger. I ordered a Coke to drink, my wife and Aunt drank water. My Coke was flat, sending it back and got a fresh one. The Manicotti was nothing but ricotta cheese and a lot of garlic, with a small salad with 3 cherry tomatoes and a few olives. No garlic bread. The cheese burger did not come with anything on it but a little lettuce and a little tomato. We had to ask the waiter for Mayo. The french fries were way over cooked. The waiter was very slow, I can't really believe he's a waiter. The total bill was over $50, $60 with the tip. Will never go back, I don't recommend anyone wanting Italian food to go to this restaurant. read more

This is the WORST experience I ever had in L'italia last night. The waitress is so unfriendly at all time. We ordered a NY strip steak and asked for medium well. It was well done when my mom sliced it into pieces. Also, when the waitress served the dish, she had the steak knife's sharp end point to my mom. Usually before the meals came, they would serve some bread, last night, she didn't give us any and we asked for bread then she got some. But when she was serving other tables, she looks friendly and happy, and she didn't forget their bread. I'm so disappointed of her service. My friend ordered a chicken with baked potatoes. The potatoes were BLACK when she served on table; I called a waiter over and asked him wether this is over cooked he said this is normal. I said I don't think this is normal and he went to call our waitress over to get some new potatoes for us. Usually I'm not the person who always want to complain, but this time L'italia really pissed me off. I've been here for several times. I thought here was quite good so I brought my mom and my friends came. But after this time I think I will never come back again. read more
