    Shrimp and Scallops Risotto

Came with a large group of girls for a bachelorette party. Everyone enjoyed their drinks and food. Fresh bread and olive oil was complimentary. The strawberries and cream Italian soda was refreshing and unique, then what I've had elsewhere. ordered the shrimp and scallop risotto. It was cooked perfectly. I loved that the scallops were crispy.

Not too dressy but also still feels special. We made a reservation (not sure if you typically need one. This was Mother's Day). Our waiter was fabulous and made our graduate feel like a million bucks. Food was good. We enjoyed.

Good find! We went on a whim to Ellicotville, forgetting it was Friday. We got there and the two restaurants we knew about were booked solid. So we grabbed some seats at the bar here. We were a little worried bc it looked more like a shabby chic bar. Nothing wrong with the look but we wanted a really nice dinner, so we were worried. But we ended up with a really great dinner! The cocktails were fine but if you're picky, stick to the basics. We started with the sprouts. Not gonna lie, they were almost as good as my favorite sprouts from Uchiko. Who knew blue cheese and sprouts were such a winning combo! We also for the fileto. Perfect! Nice peppercorn crust with mid rare inside. The gravy is usually not my thing but we soped up every bit. Heck even the brocolini was good. Glad we walked in

Everything about this restaurant is perfection. Amazing wait staff, fast service, and the food was exceptional. This was the perfect place to come with a big group of people and would recommend it to anyone visiting Ellicottville

Villaggio is a good restaurant with a slight identity crisis. They do serve their pizza with scissors which was cool. The burrata was good and the carbonara was okay too. Had a 12 Gates IPA that was pretty decent and tasted fresh. The restrooms are broom closets. Acoustics are impossible if a band is playing, your conversation will be ruined. Service was polite and attentive.

The food was pretty average. I ordered a chicken parm. It was fine. The server was friendly but a couple orders at my table were messed up. Pretty let down by this place. The food wasn't good enough for me to want to come back.

Nice atmosphere and good menu selection. It just wasn't great. This is the second time i ate here and each time i left thinking it was good, but that's it. I had the surf and turf- which translated into a 4oz filet (covered in sauce) and 5 breaded and fried(?) shrimp in a garlic sauce, which were boring and dry. My friend had the sunday sauce spaghetti which was tasty but the giant meatball was dry. I really wanted it to be a nice evening, but I was disappointed this time. It didn't help that the table next to me had four drunk 50+ year old women, acting like they were at a strip club by dancing on the balcony and sitting on male diners laps... but i digress. I will visit Villaggio again, maybe for a cocktail at the bar, and some of their delicious bread, but I think I would rather try other restaurants next time.

Had a superb experience here last night. Outstanding everything. Vibe. Staff. Apps. Entrees. Drinks. Highly recommend. We will return every visit to Ellicottville. The brussel sprouts app was ridiculously tasty. Scallops done perfectly. Haddock Milanese ... nailed it. Mic drop.

Good wine, decent food, lukewarm experience - i wish I could rate it higher. I had made a reservation a few weeks in advance as I knew EVL would be full with skiers over MLK weekend. We got there right for our reservation and the place was PACKED. It was a buzzy atmosphere, with a big screen playing sports games and the bar full of patrons. The host told us that the people who had our table had their checks but weren't leaving - blaming the other patrons when I would later see why they were probably still at our table (spoiler: they probably were still waiting for their food!) I watched as multiple other tables were sat and even the manager trying to get people without a reservation a table. Finally, 20 minutes later we had a table. We ordered drinks and apps, then our waiter didn't take our entree order for another 20 minutes. We got a few appetizers, including the "focaccia" which definitely was not focaccia bread but it was still tasty. Then it was the waiting game - after arriving at 7:30, we ultimately didn't receive our food until 9:30 PM. There was no "sorry for the wait" or "your food is on its way!" From other reviewers, this may be a common experience. I really enjoyed my carbonara, but I also would have loved it at least an hour earlier.

    Tomahawk steak
    Megan M.

Went here with friends and I won't speak for everyone (pasta bar was so so) my meal was perfect, insanely good, everything I wanted it to be. I had the Chilean sea bass with farro and it was incredibly flavorful. Partner was pleased with their tomahawk steak as well. Ordered the $5 mozzarella bread for the table because when can you even get a $5 app anymore? Definitely worth it. Will definitely be going back because my sea bass was one of my top five meals ever.

Anyone aware of gluten free options? Menu doesn't make it clear.

Hi Kay thanks for reaching out! We have gluten free pasta that can be substituted in most of the pasta dishes, as well as risotto and arugula salad (Richards scallops on the arugula salad is my personal favorite!) Hope to see you soon!

I went here today with my kids and some friends and their kids (ages 6 to 8 months). It being a Sunday at 1ish, we figured we'd miss the lunch rush and be able to cruise in and out. Somewhat surprisingly, it was pretty much full (which isn't a bad thing), but we got lucky and were able to sit within about 10 minutes. The place is quite fun with walled-off bar and table areas that adjoin at the front with an open space and the small music stage. The decor was cool with rough cut wood everywhere and TVs playing the Olympics (go US curling team!). And even though it was really busy, it wasn't all that loud given the number of people. Once we got seated though is where things started going off the rails a bit. It took a little bit for our server to come see us and then even more time to take our orders. The whole time she seemed either disinterested or distracted and certainly in a rush. I also got that same kind of vibe from the other servers I saw bouncing around too. In any event, we got our orders in and then it took them quite a while to come out as well even though we didn't get anything really special - pot roast poutine and side salad for me, cheeseburger and fries for my son, pizza with black olives for my daughter, and then our friends got chicken fingers and fries and I think maybe another cheeseburger or something. All in all, I think we ended up being there around an hour and a half through no fault of our own. For a beverage, I ordered myself an espresso martini. Now, mind you when I asked for a cocktail menu, they had none. They also "only" had 3 or 4 kinds of gin, to which our server told us that's not actually what it's called the "Gin" Mill for (not sure if that was sarcasm or serious). Either way, not really what I was expecting but oh well. It is a pub after all. On the flip side of that, I saw what looked like some really excellent looking cocktails being served up at the bar. Seems like a missed opportunity to me. On the food side, my side salad was pretty basic - lettuce, green pepper, tomato, and onion. I asked for balsamic and ended up getting two ranch. Oh well, I still like ranch. The pot roast poutine was absolutely epic though. Is it trying to actively kill me? Of course it is with all that fatty meat, greasy fries, and gravy. Aren't I allowed to splurge for the sake of you readers out there though? The roast was melt in your mouth tender and some big chunks of it to boot. I brought about 3/4 home and it made excellent leftovers for dinner too! The pizza was solid with a good cheese to sauce ratio, a nice, fluffy crust, and good overall taste and texture. I got a bite of my son's (plain) cheeseburger and it was also quite good with quality-looking bun and some really nice sear marks on the burger. The fries weren't my favorite with the sort of weird crunchy texture-style that like a Burger King has, but that's really just my personal preference. At around 230 is when the band started playing, which was an older couple playing some country tunes. My kids decided to go out and dance for a couple minutes, which the musicians seemed to get a kick out of. It was tough to make out the words she was singing, but it was a fun vibe regardless and it wasn't obnoxiously loud either. All in all (and cheating looking at some of the other reviews), it seems like this place has some front-of-house issues that need addressing but their food and drink are pretty solid. Since there's not a ton of food choices in town, I'd consider going again, but with EBC and others in walking distance, I guess there's not really any compelling reason that I should when I only make it down this way a couple times a year.

Bartender, zero personality, and he was miserable. We were w some friends in for a wedding and spent several hours at the bar greeting newcomers in for the wedding. C'mon, man. The Rachel can only be described as warmed lunchmeat. It was terrible, to the point of disgusting. I've had many a great time and good meal at the Gin Mill. I loved that this place had options for everyone- vegetarian, seafood, beef, steak, pasta, salads... you name it! Everyone ordered something different at our table and it all turned out amazing! I personally ordered the chicken Alfredo and added broccoli and asparagus to it! The sauce was amazing ( not overly thick, not overly cheesy, just perfectly creamy and delicious), the chicken, veggies and noodles were cooked perfectly, and the service was great! We opted for wine and it was nice to see delicious bottles of wine for $30 at such a high end restaurant! We also ordered the calamari appetizer which was cooked perfect and had an amazing red tomato sauce for dipping. The margarita pizza is amazing! And to top off the entire meal we ordered the cappuccino creme brûlée . HOLY SMOKES- the best dessert ever! It was crisp perfectly on the top, the flavor was rich and creamy- absolutely perfect!
