Avoid This Property Management Company - Dishonest and Aggressive…read moreI would strongly advise against renting from this property management company. Our experience was incredibly frustrating and ultimately felt like we were being taken advantage of. We were charged $250 for a pipe repair without ever being contacted, consulted, or quoted for the work. When we tried to schedule a meeting to discuss the charge, they refused to meet, ignored our calls, and eventually threatened us with eviction unless we paid. We were forced to pay for something we had no opportunity to approve or dispute. When we moved out, we gave more than 30 days' notice, professionally cleaned the carpets and the home, and even touched up the walls. Despite this, they withheld $2,100 of our security deposit. Their breakdown included: * $300 for drywall repair (not previously mentioned or shown to us) * $1,100 for painting the entire house (even though we left it in great condition) * A charge to replace a lightbulb they falsely claimed was out * $260 for cleaning (even though we had the home professionally cleaned) Throughout the process, this company was unresponsive, evasive, and became aggressive when we questioned the charges. It was clear they had no intention of communicating fairly or ethically. They do not treat tenants with respect and seem to rely on intimidation and avoidance to force compliance. This company took advantage of us and treated us dishonestly. Renters, beware--they will take your money and ignore your concerns.

We rented a beautiful home in Somersett through SIGUA Property Management, and one of the best parts of the entire experience was working with Joey Vincent Pontillas. We also appreciated that our dogs were welcomed. They're part of our family, and it meant so much to be able to rent such a wonderful home without feeling like we had to apologize for having them. Any time something needed attention in the home, Joey was incredibly responsive. Whether it was a repair or a maintenance issue, he made sure someone was there as quickly as possible--often the same day or the very next day. We never felt ignored or like our concerns were put on the back burner. That level of responsiveness is rare, and it made us feel respected as renters. Toward the end of our lease, there was one disagreement that needed to be worked through. Joey handled it with professionalism, clear communication, and a level head. He kept everyone informed, treated both us and the homeowners with respect, and helped bring everything to a resolution that felt fair for everyone involved. What impressed us most is that he makes an incredibly demanding job look easy. We know that's not the case behind the scenes, but Joey's calm, responsive, and professional approach never wavered. He genuinely cares about doing the job well, and it shows. If you're looking for a rental or property management company in the Reno-Tahoe area--especially in Somersett--we highly recommend SIGUA Property Management. Joey is the kind of property manager who restores your faith in the profession. He's responsive, dependable, hardworking, and truly takes pride in his work. Thank you, Joey, for all of your hard work. We truly appreciate everything you did for us and wish you continued success.

We ended up changing the focus of where we wanted to buy a home. We then took a break from house hunting for a couple years because the timing wasn't right. But through this time, Piper was always just a phone call or text away when we were interested in a home. Then it became something we want to focus on again at the end of 2024 and Piper jumped right back in and guided us through the whole process again and helped us find the home we eventually purchased. She was very patient with us through the whole process and was absolutely incredible to work with. She is very detailed and thorough. Call Associa while traveling, don't have HOA booklet, ask for address. Woman says I can mail it to the Reno office. It's closer than Arizona, great. Mail it in enough time to meet deadlines. A month or two later, get a call from said person - you have a balance due to late fee. Check account, the check clears two weeks after the deadline and probably 17 days after it was received. "Mailed it to Reno, was told ok, not my problem." Talked to her boss, at least he reversed it. Selling my condo. If you are an HOA president do not use this office. Pest/home inspection. I include each report as well. Get a call today from Alma. "What is it exactly you are requesting?" "As stated in the request, the buyers would like issues identified in both the home and pest inspection that are HOA responsibility addressed" "The inspection reports show things inside too" "Again, if you look at the real estate doc, 2 pages (mostly real estate nonsense), there are items outlined with subsection references to those reports which both state the issue and show pictures in some cases" "Can you file each one individually?" "No. Can you actually do work that as owners in the HOA we pay you to do?" (Not the nicest, but these people make zero effort) "Well, I'm going to email the board and you can respond there." "Ok. I will point out I gave a list of issues, direct references with pictures in a concise package and you were too lazy to address it" I'm glad I'm bugging the F out. The HOA previously employed maintanence/etc directly. That has its issues. All the original people were fired or quit. The new manager gets paid less and is expected to do more than the previous guy. These clowns are not worth the $ HOA boards agree to pay them.

Associa Sierra North is incredibly difficult to work with, are extremely strict in their rules & regulations, are not understanding when it comes to resolving supposed "violations", won't allow expansions such as a small shop/shed or a sunroom addition to the rear of our home, an adamant amount of fence stain hasn't been provided to all residents that are required to retain their fences, & HOA fees continue to increase. If there is a way to pursue voting/replacing this HOA agency with another agency I am all for it. I'm sick of these assholes.

That was a good indication of the level of commitment Amy has to service. Throughout the home buying process, Amy was extremely responsive and thoughtful in her recommendations to us. My apprehension was quickly put to rest when I first contacted Amy regarding buying a house. Amy was prompt in responding and set up an initial meeting to ask me about my requirements. In our first meeting, Amy explained that she runs her real estate business with her mom, Janet and her dad, Jerry - together known as The Wallin Team. After meeting with the Wallins, I left with the feeling that I have made a right choice to have them help me search for my dream home. The Wallins bring professionalism and knowledge to the table along with their friendly smile and expert advice on real estate. From the very beginning, the Wallins maintained an open and prompt line of communication. All of my questions were answered by one of the Wallins within 1-2 hours via text or email. The Wallins were ready to meet me for showings within hours of notice and made me their priority. Though I am sure they had several other clients they were working with, they always made me feel as if I am their priority. What impressed me most was how well they treated me and how passionately all three of them got involved in my search for a dream house. The Wallins did a great job explaining the whole process and the timeline associated with each step. They prepared a binder that was broken down in easy to understand section explaining the process and methodology of a house buying process. This was a very helpful resource. They took a lot of hassle and headache out for me as we moved along the process and Amy even came in on her birthday for the house inspection just to ensure all goes smoothly. My house closed on time and without any hiccups. They offer one-of-a-kind service and now, I have new-found appreciation for real estate agents. I can't thank Amy and the Wallins enough for making one of the biggest steps in my life such a seamless process. I highly recommend their Real Estate services and expertise. Thanks again for everything you guys did for me and my family. I would definitely be recommending my friends and family to your team.
