My son took the youth safety firearm class today. He was a little nervous going in and they made him feel amazing. He took this class cause he wants to hunt. He has extraordinary hearing. So when it came to shooting the pistol it was a lot louder than he expected. They let him step out and re group. They took him back in at the end of the class to re shoot with it and even put a silencer on it for him so it wasn't so loud. They went above and beyond what they needed to to do with him. They truly care about the kids and that's the best part. read more

We went in today hoping to make a reservation to shoot some of the automatic weapons that are advertised on their website. We were greeted by a friendly associate when we came in and we were directed to the reservations counter. The guys working the counter were knowledgeable and were able to accommodate us without a wait- except that the gun selection was much more limited than advertised on the web. We selected a weapon and a package and provided the necessary personal info. After donning our safety gear, we headed into the range and had a brief overview with the range safety officer, hung our target, had an overview on loading and unloading the weapon and spent the next couple of minutes ripping through 6 magazines VERY quickly. It was fun- we had a good time. We shopped around the store a bit- it's pretty and brightly lit, but the actual selection is pretty limited. read more

What's more to say but if you're looking for a clean and safe gun range in the heart of Reno, this is your place. I was there on Saturday night and 80% of the place were folks renting guns. While some of the regulars were moaning a bit, I was pretty happy watching these folks renting various guns and laughing with their friends. Not a single person there was lacking a smile which is so refreshing. Even if I had to wait for 30 minutes for a lane, I enjoy speaking with the employees and looking at all the guns. To clarify the 1 is just for the employee Jared I'm pretty sure is his name. I went in Tuesday to rebuy a mini draco (my home was burglarized and they stole 3 of my guns) anyways on Tuesday everything was fine i did the paperwork but didn't fill out my whole middle name so it had to be redone it could be redone right then cuz they had no one who could fix it. Jared told me come back in the morning and redo the background check. Ok i went back in paid for the gun filled out the paperwork i spotted a kimber 9mm that i decided i wanted also to replace my Springfield that was stolen. I had my girlfriend and son in with me and Jared asked if i was buying the lumber for one of them i said no it's mine I'm replacing what was stolen they both do live with me but both guns where 100% for me as replacements. He said he wouldn't sell me the Kimber cuz he thought i was buying it for my son or girlfriend he didn't say who. I said whatever paid for the Draco and told my girlfriend and son we could look at scheeels well they had one i even liked more and cost a quite a bit less i go to do the paperwork and the manager comes out and says he got a call from Reno gun range and i was trying to buy for my girlfriend or son who might live out of state he lives with me always has. So scheels asked us to provide ids my son doesn't have one so they couldn't sell because of the call. There where a lot of people in the store but I'm easy to pick out of i crowd as i am fully tattooed wonder how they found me out of everyone else. The 1st Draco i bought great service 5/5 and they unlucky guy who had to work next to Jared 5/5 (he showed me the ( kimber) at reno gun but I'll be back to pick up my Draco. if you go here if you get Jared ask for someone else he's a judgmental donkey!! I took my 14 year-old son for a private lesson before his first time to use a firearm. The great service started with how they set up the appointment, calling me the day before to confirm just the right time to do the lesson. The facility is well staffed and we were greeted as soon as we walked in the door. The facility is new, large, clean, and impressive. My son's instructor was Derek and the instruction he provided exceeded my expectations. My wife and I were able to sit in with him while he instructed on all aspects of gun use and safety. My son was able to practice in a simulator before moving to the live fire range. My son later told me he really loved the simulator and was glad he was able to do that before live fire. On the range, Derek led my son through 9mm handgun and 22 rifle firing. My son was nervous to fire his first live weapon but was also extremely excited. The rest of the staff was also friendly and exceptional. Most of instructors are ex Reno PD. Our instructor Derek was a 26 year veteran of Reno PD with lots of range instruction experience. He was friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and made my son feel very comfortable. Highly recommend this place. We will definitely return. read more

This place shot my socks off!!! WOW!! this place was neat and clean and BIG and open and .. and.. and.. I just cant say enough great things about this place. A friend of mine was in town and I wanted to do this as a surprise. I originally had a different local indoor range in mind, but they were booked. So... we found this one on yelp instead. Thank you baby Jesus!!! What a great time! I have never shot at an indoor shooting range before and had only shot a few times in my life. The people were incredibly helpful with getting my gun, safety equipment and shooting target identified. I felt very comfortable going into the shooting area, because I was with someone that has a TON of experience.. but I think I would have been fine even without. There were people buying guns and renting guns and getting accessories. All of that made me feel extremely comfortable. Total cost for rental for two people ( Eye and Ear Protection, Gun and 1 box or each Ammunition and Target was a total of about 90.00 ) Worth every stinking penny! This place is a bit tricky to find. It located right behind the Harley Shop in Reno. But once you get there. You'll know what I mean. I cant wait to get back! read more

I have been to this indoor range many, many times before. I recently attended the CCW Renewal class on 3/16. The class was instructed my Alisha and she was so educational, straight forward and on point. She was real and very honest. I felt this class was well done, timely and full of useful, powerful information. I recommend this facility for safe firearm training, self defense classes, gun safety - I feel comfortable and safe shooting at this indoor range. The other staff members at this facility are so polite and informative; the encourage positive firearms training and purchase. I can't say enough about how great this place is. I love it. read more

Since I've been shooting before, and had a great time, I decided to come out again on my recent trip to Reno. The first time was out in Michigan and the place was quite crowded. When my brother & I came out here, I had minor experience. There was no one else there when we went, we so got a very hands on experience with the instructors. We signed some liability forms, got our ammo & gun rental and ear plugs. Had a great time, and on the plus side, i got to shoot in the flip flops I was wearing. I have been looking for a place to get some updated education on firearms and a safe place to practice shooting. I highly recommend Reno Guns & Range to anyone, especially for people looking to get started with firearms and have a safe place to practice. They also have a wide selection of firearms that can be rented so you can try them out before buying. I think this is great since different people have different requirements on what they are looking for in a firearm. I took the "Intro To Handgun" course and it was excellent. The instructor Daniel was fantastic and it was nice have a small class to get questions answered and get personal assistance on the range. That got me to the CCW class which was also excellent. The instructors are impressive. Since my experience there has been great, I got a Premium membership here so that I can book time on the range and get more assistance when needed. I am a very busy person and love being able to know I can get into the range when I want to. It has definitely been worth the money for me. read more

I went to Reno Guns & Range today wanting to get instruction on a new revolver I had purchased elsewhere several months ago I was greeted promptly upon arrival and instantly felt welcomed. I was a walk-in with no appointment for instruction but they had an instructor, Mark, whom was ready to go. The instruction was calm, steady, and clear and it was through that repetitive process that I began to feel comfortable with my own gun. I learned so much about what to do correctly as well as what NOT to do. I achieved my goal which was to learn how to safely handle the firearm and it was only because of Mark. He is a true professional in every sense of the word. AND, I felt like he cared about me and that I was welcome. Best Range ive ever been too and i always have a blast whenever i come and shoot here. RSO are awesome and super patient when i was teaching my friend how to handle and use a gun and they even lent me a blue gun to help me train him. RSOs are super helpful and friendly and they helped me clear a jam in my AR from a stuck case that wouldt extract. Also range is super high tech and modern i love how the target markers are computerized so i can set a precise distance. Also unlike the ranges in california and in vegas they allow draws from the holster. And being security guard and someone who open carries its really important to be able to pratice shooting from the draw. Also rapid fire is allowed here not like cali which one shot every one second too scary and loud and makes people want to come back to shoot. Not to mention in california your not allowed to pull a mag from a mag pouch shoot one handed transition the gun from one hand to another or do a tactical reload. Honestly in not for this range i would have a harder time requalfing for my guard card because all these activities aboved that are banned in california are fine here. The best thing this range has to offer is the staff there all super cool and pro 2a. The retail experience here is much different than california. In california unless your gonna buy something most staff there will tell you to leave and get lost. Also in california if you asked to see something and thinking about buying it they not going to help you. None of that happens at this place the staff here are more than willing to answer your questions. And even when you cant buy something they'll still help you out and give you info and help u pick out a gun here for when they can actually sell you a gun. My husband and I went in tonight, to check the range out since I will be taking my CCW class there in a week. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and so helpful. Mark was the first staff member to help us (Mark sucks! a little inside joke thanks to Tom and my bearded cowboy husband). Mark got us set up and was so nice! @Mark, we really do like you! We got out onto the range and I was so happy to see that to move the target back, you just push a button. That makes life easier for determining 3, 5 and 7 yards which I need for my class. We had no issues with the range masters that I had read in other reviews. After shooting, we went to check out with Tom. He had me cracking up! We told him that we wanted to go the membership route. He came around the counter to explain the difference as a member and not just an employee. We decided on the membership we wanted and he sent us over to Sales. In the Sales department, we had the pleasure of having Stephanie walk us through the process and taking a good chunk of money from us (all worth it!). She is a delight! After the membership was set up she sent us back to Tom to check out! Tom was helpful in going over the charges and still had us laughing. After all was said and done, do we leave? Nope! We look at the guns for sale. Austin helped us with this! We told him that I was looking for a conceal carry weapon and he showed us a good selection. He was so helpful and took his time showing us all of the options.
