Ordered 4 cubic yards of 1" Apache Gold for my front landscape project. Delivered as promised and now I'm ready to go to work. They have a nice display of their rocks in a nice walk area so customer has a better idea of what the different rocks looks like spread out rather than just a big pile. Office was very helpful and courteous and made my wife and I very comfortable dealing with our purchase. They answered all of our questions without the bums rush. Delivery person was also very courteous and place the rocks right where I had requested. The only qualm I have is that they place a surcharge when you use a credit card. I purchased landscape rock that stated 2-4 inches. I got big ugly bolders and some as big as 10 inches. I went right to the office and brought some bigger ones with me. They said we will make it right. Expect a call later. A representative called me and said " you have to expect variability. We dont sit with a measuring tape on each one" . I stated tbere is nothing on your sheet that states expect twice the size from what we state. He said that is what you ordered. He hung up on me. My response is if that is what I ordered why would there be a disclosure expect double size variability? Why is the classiication of these size rocks nearly half of what I paid? I now see there are several reviews from customers with the same complaint and horrible customer service!! I would never recommend Reno rock!! This is closer to a solid 4.5. I have had experiences with two drivers (Wes and Judy) and both were 5/5. The drivers are professional, courteous and experts at what they do. Judy perfectly placed my 7 yard load so it was 12" from my garage door on the edge of my driveway to make it easy for me to move. Wes did multiple dumps to make it easy for me to spread the 18 yards of lava rock down the driveway. The mocha lava was perfect no issues with the load at all. The 3/8 pathway rock was another issue. Judy dumped the load and we saw boulders in the mix. It turned out to be boulders, pavement chunks and a mix of other types and grades of rock. The drivers previous loads had been sand and decomposed granite so the contamination mush have come from their supplier. They actually handed me back my money (I had paid COD) and said, "Use what you can, tell us how short you are and we will send you out another truck to make up the difference and you can pay us then." 5+/5 for customer service. I live in the Tahoe basin so the delivery charge is $275 per load. Another reviewer mentioned that is expensive for small loads; the company has to cover the cost of rolling the trucks so I find the delivery charge fair. If you only need a yard or so, rent a pickup or trailer. Conclusion - I'm still miffed that I had to sort through the last load and find ways to "make it work" but, I have my cash still in my hand. I plan to go into Reno this week, meet the ladies in the office and offer them most of the money they are owed less what I couldn't use. I will use them again and am very impressed with the customer service. I can't ding them too hard for what is, most likely, a supplier error. Thanks again to Judy and Wes. read more

We finally decided to get around to finishing some rock-scaping in our yard and after calling around to several different places we found Reno Rock to offer the best prices and largest variety of rock. We took a trip to the yard to see things in person, which is probably the best approach anyway. I was able to quickly order my rock and have it delivered the next day for a very reasonable delivery charge. The delivery guy was friendly and followed my instructions on where to dump the rock. He also shared the details of how the rock would fall from the truck so I could manage my own expectations for where it would land. He did the entire operation without damage to property of landscape. I highly recommend you check in at the office for a current map of the yard, especially if you're looking for something specific. The front rock display isn't current and the rock in the cubes don't match the listing sheet with prices. It's a little frustrating, but I would imagine the stock changes frequently enough to make that display hard to maintain. Also keep in mind that the bin labels in the yard don't match the rock that's in there either, so you need to be really careful to identify what rock you want. Count the bins based on the map and don't rely on the labels posted. I think the second challenging thing is that you can't get a good feel for the color of the rock out in the yard because everything is completely covered in dust and dirt. It's dusty for obvious reasons, but does make it challenging to shop for something specific. read more

I don't even know where to begin, we've been there two or three times, we went there yesterday, and the girl that came outside didn't even know her job. We were asking questions about Rocks and how much they cost, she's like we do it by the pound, there was one item that was a moon and stars etched into the rock, we asked her for the price she had no idea. I called this morning for some rock, she says oh we haven't had that for a few months, I said well we want a few yards, can I give you my phone number so you can call me when you can get the rock? She said no we can't do that, I said but do you know when it comes in, she says no, I am like OK then bye. Wow how extremely rude. I ordered 8 cu yds of 3/4" river rock & should have been charged $48 per cubic yard + tax & $75 delivery. After the rock was dropped in my yard, my contractor stated that it didn't look like river rock & it didn't look like it was 8 cu yds. The delivery driver stated it was both river rock & 8 cu yds. After my contractor spread the rock 2 days later, he again told me that it WASN'T river rock AND it WASN'T 8 cu yds and that the rock was spread only 1" deep-not the 2" deep that that the company's website said it would cover for my dimensions. When I looked at my receipt, I noticed I was charged $87 a cu yd for "salt and pepper". When I looked on the company's website for pics of the 2 types of rock, it appears that the rock that WAS delivered was indeed "salt and pepper"-but was listed at $77 for its size-not the $87 listed on the receipt. On 10/23, I called Reno Rock & reported my findings. I was advised that the person who would handle this was out of the office for the day & would return my call the following day. I waited a week & did not receive a return call. I called again on 10/30 & was told to email a pic of the rock & someone would call me back later that day. No return call. On 10/31, I called again & originally spoke to a rude Breanna, then was passed on to Cambria who stated she hasn't been in the office for 4 days. When I told her I had been waiting for 8 days for a return call & that I had the right to be upset since they had already been paid in full & were ignoring me, Cambria told me that after I "calmed down", I could call her back. Again, I felt I was being ignored & told her I would be filing a complaint with the BBB instead and hung up. I just bought a home on an acre of land that needs an additional 10+ cu yds of decorative rock and 8 cu yds of top soil to get it designed to my specifications, but Reno Rock will definitely NOT get any future business from me. read more

We went in yesterday afternoon with our rock samples. We need some additional rock to add to our existing landscape. We walked to the area that has the various samples which are organized by individual numbers. We quickly found the rock we needed and proceeded to the office. The office staff were friendly and helpful and we made arrangements to have it delivered this week. We also asked several questions about the boulders and were told we could drive through the yard and look at the various options. We paid for dirt to be delivered and left instructions to have it placed on a tarp. The movers placed the dirt 3 feet away from the tarp in the street. When we called to have it corrected, we were simply told there is nothing that can be done. This place doesn't know anything about customer service. He asked if they had a Veteran's discount, they did and not only gave us the discount on the bark we bought today, but gave us a refund on the bark we bought last week! Who does that??? So according to their calculation I had to pay 80$ for the rock I wanted. However, a 0.5 cubic yard of that same rock is $100 bucks, and there is 100 gallons in a 0.5 cubic yard. So please do a simple math: 100$ for 100 gallons (20 buckets) which is 5$ per bucket VS. 80$ for 20 gallons (4 buckets) which is 20$ per bucket. You will be paying 4 times more (yes 400% more) if you don't want an increment of 0.5 cubic yard worth of rocks. This is absurd. What if I simply want 4 buckets (20 gallons) just to top up my existing ones which I have purchased in 0.5 cubic yard increments from Reno Rock before? Please please please fix your pricing and then I will change my star rating to 5 and then I can purchase more rocks from you every time I need few/several buckets to fill portions of my yard (which will happen quite often). Please. I would understand if you want to price your "per bucket" a little higher than bulk but NOT 400% more :((( maybe just 10-20% more would be acceptable. Please please please fix your pricing. Reno Rock was delivering to a neighbor that is adjacent to my property. They were having hundreds of yards of rock delivered. The road is 50mph zone so not slow traffic. One of the delivery trucks dropped some large rocks on the road and my wife hit one and broke the oil pan on her car. I called Reno Rock to complain and see what they would do about it but they said it was an act of God and they were not responsible. Since when does God drive a rock truck! read more

Do not order gravel off of their website. You will be stuck with the delivery charge when they bring the wrong product. Back in May 2020 I ordered 1/2 inch to 1 inch size salt and pepper gravel, and received it, no problem. On 8/3 I placed the same order. When I checked as the driver started unloading, the gravel measured 1 - 2 inches, clearly not 1/2 inch to 1 inch as ordered. They refused to credit the $75.00 transport fee, which is the last $75.00 they will ever receive from me. read more

Reno Rock was timely with a soil delivery order. They got back to us, sometimes within hours, while we were figuring out payment and delivery times. After delivery though, we discovered a decent amount of fresh manure (I mean WET type of fresh) in our Full Circle brand Kick soil. It began attracting flies to our garden beds. I checked with Full Circle first to make sure that there wasn't supposed to be manure included. They confirmed that it was not. So I reached out to Reno Rock because something has happened - either they forgot to clean out the truck bed ahead of time or they grabbed from the wrong pile - no response. It's been 3 weeks and 3 emails later and they are refusing to even respond to us. Not professional, team. read more

Called for information regarding product availability and a young girl, presumably, answered and snapped at me as I was verifying they were open. Very rude. She said she was new and couldn't answer my question and went to ask someone. This is fine, however, the man who came on the phone also acted completely put out that I had bothered them. He also snapped an answer at me and his reply seemed to indicate he didn't know what I was asking about either and did not care. I am adding landscaping rock around the perimeter of my yard. I checked with Moana Nursery first simply because they are located close to me. They were ok, not super friendly just more of a "whatever" attitude. After leaving Moana I decided to call Reno Rock Transport. I was hesitant based on the reviews. The gal I spoke with was really professional and friendly. Much to my surprise they are also $20 cheaper per cubic yard than Moana!! I placed my order for 4 cubic yards in the morning and received my delivery this afternoon. The driver called before arriving and was also very professional and friendly. He dropped the rock where I asked him too. I am pleasantly surprised with how easy and affordable this was. I highly recommend this company and will use them for any future needs. read more

We moved into a house that needed its landscaping done in north west Reno.... we moved here after living in gardnerville for 17 years and we have always used Full Circle Compost products, a Minden based company who's owners are passionate about their soils....so we were very excited finding out we could order full circle compost/dirt mix at reno rock .... we brought in 18 yards of soil from Reno Rock this spring to get a garden and flower beds started. We used this in gardnerville and had a garden that was amazing... fed many friends and family. So we expected the same results here and yes even in the 1st season as that had been our experience before....we planted the garden and waited for the bounty of produce.... it's August and we're still waiting for plants to actually grow, nothing is doing good and my plants look like they are fighting to stay alive... this is not the soil from Full Circle Compost.... we talked to Reno Rock and basically was told that they could care less...so I recommend that if u want good soil call Full Circle Compost directly don't deal with RenoRock until they realize that a good reputation and customer service is what makes a business survive and grow. We actually had our soil analyzed by a soil laboratory and the results showed that basically we bought 18 yards of sand....believe me we didn't pay for sand .... but again reno Rock could care less .... u decide if you want to deal with this type of business read more
