I will 100% go to an Ace Hardware store before a big box store. I was moving and I stopped in for tape and paper and boxes. I was greeted upon arrival and asked if I needed help (EVERY TIME) The guy helped carry boxes up to the front. I had a $5 off coupon, and got another for the next time I came. Parking is right in front of the store, and it's so clean and well stocked. I love all Ace Hardware stores in the Reno/Sparks area! Service is great. Small selection of plants but th store itself is small compared to the big box stores. Which is just fine with me! I found everything I was looking for. The prices are in line with what other hardware stores charge. Suffice to say I'll be shopping here in the future. Sorry Lowe's but this Ace Hardware has my business from here on in. Since the new ownership took over, this place has gone completely downhill. Not only are the prices ridiculous now, but the environment is incredibly hostile. As a Latino male, every single time I walk in here, I am watched like a criminal. The profiling is blatant. To make matters worse, I recently had an InstaWork shift here to clean the Dippin' Dots cooler. When I approached the manager, Tim, he was shockingly rude, condescending, and belittled me. I was following the flexible app guidelines, but he chose to power-trip and disrespect me instead. Take a look at the staff--there is zero diversity here, and the vibe is deeply exclusionary. Between the price-gouging, the awful customer service, and the underlying bias from management, I will never spend a dime here again. Save your money and go somewhere that respects people. read more

Caught by total surprise by Ace Hardware. After searching for shower door plastic strip at my usual Home Depot, I was told by a friend that I should check out Ave hardware. A new one had just opened in my neck of the woods in November so I knew right where to go and was happy it was so convenient. Well, I entered the store with my son and he explained what he was looking for and immediately took off in the direction the store employee directed him. Meanwhile I'm immediately mesmerized by the I retesting corner of locally handcrafted gift ideas. All sorts of unique gifts, all made by women. Love! The employee behind the checkout counter was absolutely lovely. Funny, friendly, warmly engaging. It's been a minute since I've felt so well attended to by a customer service experience. As I continued to peruse the front of the store I spitted a long 8ft long freezer case full of.... Wait for it.... Homemade pies from a local California shop! I had a good laugh at how out of place this offering seemed to me. I mean, I was in a hardware shop! Okay, the pie selections are out of this world!!! Great price too!! am currently on a pie tasting craze and all mg friends are now rushing to Ace hardware to buy a flippin' pie Although Ace hardware did not end up having the shower piece I went in the store for in the first place, we left with a PIE!!! 6/3/2024- So surprised to see an Ace Hardware! I love shopping at these small hardware stores, because the staff will help you find what you are looking for.. not like the big box home improvement stores.. Prices are higher, but convenience makes it worth shopping.. We are suppose to get one in S. Reno.. Looking forward to shopping !! read more

Just started using this location even though it is further from my home. We found out they repair house screens. We have done our own in the past but this is so much easier and we don't mind paying to have it done. Everyone here was polite and ready to help. We were told it would take a few days to complete five screens but it took longer, over a week, but we did not mind because it is winter and you don't open the windows anyway. We did not get a call that they were done so we called them. So happy to have them changed out on our rental. We won't ever consider doing the screens our self and we will just being them in. The store is nice and clean and well organized and a friendly staff. We will drive here from now on for any of our hardware needs. Thanks for taking care of a tedious task for us. read more

Came by here to pick up a few things. The store seems laid out well and the shelves look tidy and well organized. A nice man asked if I needed help finding anything, which I didn't, I just wanted to cruise every isle since it was my first visit and the store is not a monolithic albatross like the two other chain stores. Ace Hardware never fails to have helpful, friendly staff, what we're looking for, and something we didn't know we wanted. The new location at McCarran and Mira Loma is no exception. We went in for a chainsaw chain that was on their app. The cashier immediately greeted us. We found the part. They had a single pack but owner, Jay, happily ordered the value two pack for us to pick up later in the week. We walked around a bit and ended up with fire pit supplies too. The store is clean, orderly, and easy to navigate. Unlike larger hardware stores, you don't need help to reach what you want or walk over messes left by other customers or employees. This location is also so great. Walking distance from our neighborhood and near grocery and restaurant spots, it makes picking up something on the list or last minute so easy. read more
