Everyone seemed quite friendly at the Alexandria location. I was immediately greeted by Juan and in less than 5 minutes, I was on my way to the chair. The dental hygienist was very kind and took her time explaining everything that was happening. The xray portion was a bit painful but, the dental hygienist made me as comfortable as she could. During my appointment, I did feel like the hygienist kept trying to sell me on different rinses and various other items. Other than that, every employee took great care of me. Nova Dental Clinic is good. The staff are friendly and helpful. I liked having my dental X-rays done with a wireless device, so quick and convenient. The waiting area is cozy with hot drinks, and the Halloween decorations were a fun touch. It can get a bit crowded at times, but only for a short while. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I've been to this office multiple times. I've seen Dr. Anderson (very cocky sociopath who pays for their google reviews with his wife who also works there), Dr. JingYoung (horrible, inexperienced young Asian lady who runs her practice like a dictator) and a dentist who was fire that I cannot remember their name. Both teeth they did root canals on had to be extracted by another oral surgeon I had to go find. Jingyoung is so condescending and rude when you ask her do check your teeth. She's also a new dentist and worked on the homeless prior. She's very inexperienced. She pulled one of my teeth that did not need to be pulled and wouldn't give me any sort of pain meds. She would get annoyed when I would ask her to check it. Literally by far the worst dentist I've ever been to. Oscar at the front desk is rude as hell. The office manager lady is also rude and constantly forgets to send files over. This place is a dental mill. Go elsewhere! The leadership team - especially Adriana and Kiana - is incompetent. The website has several issues which management chooses to ignore : 1. Appointments booked through the website are not synced with the internal scheduling system. Even if you have confirmed an appointment online, the back office has no record of it. 2. Appointments can be booked when there is no availability, meaning you don't get the appointment when you arrive. 3. Appointments can be booked outside of office hours - like after 3:00 PM - even though the office is closed. 4. Authentication on the website loops - so there is no access to the patient portal. I've been to this office 3 times. The first two experiences left much to be desired. I'll start off with the good (prior to the actual visit). The office is neat and they decorate for holiday seasons which makes the atmosphere welcoming. I initially came here due to me wanting to get ZOOM Whitening. I saw an offer on Groupon, called, they said don't buy it off Groupon, get it from us directly and we'll honor the price. So, I was like.. cool, they get me scheduled very quickly and also offered to give me a free cleaning + X-ray. However, when I got the procedure and finished.. my teeth still looked basically the same and I wasn't satisfied and told them how I felt. To placate me, they decided to offer me a $50 value of a take-home whitening kit free. The 2nd time, I was scheduled to go back for my impressions and I had to wait for over half an hour past my scheduled appointment time and I got so tired of waiting I complained at the front desk where I was then finally taken to the back. Another patient complained too but even though she arrived at the office after me, they take her in the back before me. Like, WTF? I'm assuming it's b/c she complained before I did despite that fact. Anyway, the lady doing my impressions did NOT have a bedside manner.. I kept telling her I was in a lot of pain from my crown deliveries I just got the day before but I feel like she totally ignored my concern and just jammed the thing in my mouth. Very nice people but interesting business practices. A) I schedule an appointment for a broken tooth and am called a few days before to see if I can move it back an hour because they're very busy. B) I get called the day of the appointment and get politely chastised for not showing up at the original set time. C) I see a different dentist than who I scheduled my appt with. D) I get offered services (cleaning, whitening etc.) I didn't ask for but am assured that each one is covered by my insurance. E) I'm told that what I went there for is not covered by my insurance but that they'll follow up F) two weeks go by and I have to call them. G) I literally get put on hold for thirty minutes before I hang up. H) I call back a few weeks later to see how much it'll cost me out of pocket and get quoted $800. First time visiting RenovaSmiles at their Woodbridge location and I don't have too many positives to describes other than the actual dentist. My appointment was for 4 PM on a Tuesday evening. I showed up on time with all the "new patient" paperwork filled out - I printed them out from their website in advance thinking that I won't have to wait too long. The front desk receptionists are anything but customer service friendly. Their behaviors/attitude are not welcoming. It took them 40 minutes before they called me in (yes I timed it on my watch)! Once I got in, the x-rays were taken and the dentist came by to do the assessment. As I mentioned earlier, the dentist was excellent, very thorough, took his time to explain my dental health. However, he told me that the Hygenist left for the day; so I would have to come in for a second visit to do the cleaning. That is unacceptable. It should've been the receptionist'a job when I got my original appointment over the phone to let me know that a 4 PM appointment won't get me a dental cleanup for an ACTUAL dental cleaning appointment. They seemed busy for the short duration that I was there for. So needlessly to say, none of the Yelp comments will help RenovaSmiles work on these places to make it better since they're getting enough customers through the door. But if majority of the customers have the same type of experience as me, then, eventually, it'll show in the bottom line! read more

When my previous dentist retired I was slow to start up with a new one. Renova Smiles took over the practice so I made an appointment and got in quickly. I knew I needed extensive work and the Dr. mapped out a schedule to treat the worse teeth first. Between having temporary crowns and then permanent ones in and "tweaked" I have seen three dentists and several dental assistants. Their work has all been of the highest quality. First let me start off by saying I have not been to the Dentist in a long time. I have a fear of anyone in a white coat especially dentists. So when I have a horrible toothache I knew I had to find a dentist office that looked friendly was not too big and was close to my house.So I went here to address my tooth pain and from the time I stepped into the office I felt at ease The woman at the front desk was pleasant I did not have to wait too long to be taken back. The first Woman Who took my xrays and got me ready was very nice and assured me I would be well taken care of by Dr. Eliana Anderson. She was right Dr. Anderson explained to me what needed to be done set me up for my procedure the next day with her husband Dr. Joshua Anderson and she also assured me I was in good hands. Of course I was apprehensive coming in this morning because I had a big procedure, at least to me, to be done I was getting a tooth pulled and a cleaning. The dental hygienist came in and was very nice and thorough assured me everything would be fine and painless and it was she was great! By the time it was time for my extraction I was relaxed and had less anxiety Than I did when I came in Thanks to everyone who was around me during my visit Dr. Anderson came in and removed my tooth in what seemed like two minutes he was gentle and very nice. I am impressed with this practice I am making this my new dentist office that says a lot for me because I thought I would never go back to the Dentist because of my fears. RenovaSmiles is a very poorly run practice. They changed my appointment time repeatedly, with almost no notice. When I asked why they had to change my appointment so many times, the receptionist berated me for my "lack of flexibility." When I actually went to my appointment, they refused to let me see one of the dentists. The hygienists were kind, but constantly rotated with no warning and dismissed me every time I asked for a dentist. The waiting room was full (despite COVID) and not following distancing measures. Overall, a terrible experience that I would not recommend to others, especially given the plethora of dentists available in this area. read more

i am super confused by the positive reviews. maybe i went on a bad day. i'm not sure what my next step is. i was looking for a new dentist. it was my first time here. immediately they told me i need a root canal, even though i really have no history of problems that bad that would indicate even a little that this would be a possibility. then they tried to strong-arm me into getting an immediate root canal. i was asked to immediately drop over 2000$ of my own money (i DO have dental insurance). i don't have two grand lying around. can't i use a credit card? can i borrow it? they asked. this amount is twice the national average of what people pay out of pocket for this procedure, and that's on the high end. i got a second opinion. not only do i absolutely not need a root canal, but whatever is wrong with my teeth/mouth can be fixed by.....wait for it... flossing more like a good girl. i almost had a totally useless root canal. i am not sure what to do - i am so blown away that this place is allowed to practice dentistry, much less has any business at all. read more

After looking for the best dentist I came across dr. Anderson I set my appointment and when I went in to ended up with dr. Pino. I wasn't very happy because I didn't know how this was going to go, I wanted the best and that's exactly what I got with dr. Pino. He was kind, gentle and patient and I'm not the best patient I have a terrible fear of the dentist office. Leaving I was so happy and I have never left a dentist office happy but dr. Pino has the hands of n angel!!! I just had my second set of teeth pulled this past Saturday from dr. Pino and I had the same experience even though I was worried it would go differently because I was told Saturdays are busy and they try to move fast. My son who is 5 has seen dr. me and my wife visited there for our regular Visit and we both haven't visited any dental for past one and half year because of the pandemic and last time we visited was in mid 2019. So it was almost 2 years for both of us since our last dental checkup. we were both treated on very unprofessional manner. even when I tried to ask for the price of any dental cosmetic, they said, "don't worry about it". They were pre-assuming that we are not able to pay that. my wife needed a dental cleaning but they were forcing her to do deep cleaning. Nurses were very unprofessional too. One of the nurse was saying that i do rub my teeth with my teeth since my teeth are comparatively smaller than others. Even I said no she said may be during night time when I sleep. I ask my wife if I do like that. She said she has never heard anything like that in night time. They are only trying to blame patient and make their dental condition is worst. We moved to Arlington and I and my daughter visited their Woodbridge location for a 6 month requirement, needless to say that I was not that happy with their Arlington location also. The moment I got there, the lady start pushing for next appointment, by saying deep cleaning require every 4 month visit, when I said no , then she tried very hard digging in my mouth to find any issues, I could just feel it. She pooled my old fillings very hard to take them out, unsuccessful, she tried to break my lower front teeth by pooling them hard and acting as if she cleaning them ( I Swear I am not making this up). I raised my hand to stop her. later , she said you need to use fluoride and is not covered by insurance, I said no, don't need it. The doctor came in , after hard examination , he said we need to work on your teeth and do a root canal , said I don't want it. When I went to check out they still hand me a paper an d show me my next cost would be over 1800 dollars !. I still have pain from yesterday all over my mouth. They also told my daughter she need filling, god know , they may making this up too.. I look at the whole experience as taking your car to a dealership for service, where they push you to replace parts so that they can make money and pay their employees. These are my thoughts: 1- I have to give them 2 month of my full paycheck to cover my next visit , which I won't do and will wait to find another dentist. 2- insurance and BBB should keep an eye on them. 3- staff are being pushed to create unnecessary visits so they can run the place and cover their cost. read more

I will start with the positive, so this dental office is a clean dental office the staff seem friendly but it goes down from there. I made an appointment for a cleaning and not only did I have to go back to the office twice for what I was up so was a deep cleaning that was needed for three of my teeth and a half but cleaning done on the actual job of cleaning super disappointed that it seem like this office is more concerned with the cost of getting money from me but not taken care of there one basic shot which is to clean my teeth. read more

Instead of free it cost me 105 dollars and in the past at other offices annual x-rays, scaling, fluoride, and polish has been covered at other facilities and as far as I can tell my teeth were only x ray'd and scaled. I really thought I had found a dentist office that was going to care. But I found out I was WRONG!!!. Speed though cleaning my teeth. On the second cleaning he never cleaned the back of my top front teeth. Then had to have 2 teeth take out but only 1 was done. Had to numb me up 4 times. I had to tell the assistant that I was not numb on the inside of my mouth. So again I got shot up again. So now up to 5 times. Dr. S truely doesn't know what he is doing. They put bone graph in where the tooth was take out, and pieces of that keep falling out. Needed to have alot of dental work work. When I mentioned to Dr. S that I was not happy, and told him that he just lost alot of money from my insurance. His comment was "Oh well". Who says that. Never asked, how can I make things better. I came to this office for an Invisalign consultation. My appointment was for 3 PM. I arrived and was told to wait just a few minutes. I waited and waited and they told me the doctor was running late. I waited until 4 (an hour later) to be seen. During that time, they told me that another doctor was in and they hadn't realized I was here for an Invisalign consultation. Not sure how they didn't realize that, considering this was my first visit and the only reason I came. Then, at 4 something, the doctor literally walked into the office and then staff told me that she'll be with me in a few moments. She went and saw other patients so I wasn't seen until about 415-20ish. When she came in, she spent all of two minutes with me. She did not take ANY pictures nor X Ray's to determine candidacy and did not rake any time at all to answer questions. However, the staff QUICKLY came up with a $7000 bill. When I looked shocked, they dropped a $1000 on the spot (which clearly showed that as their sales technique). This office was EXTREMELY incompetent and they're not even orthodontists. Save your money and go elsewhere. I was able to get a quote for about $4600 from Potomac Orthodontics and they actually took time to take X Ray's, pictures, AND answer ALL of my questions in a TIMELY manner. read more

Right now I am not happy. When I came the crowns at the upper right side back of my mouth caused no pain. They insisted that they were bad and needed to be replaced , even though they were less than 5 years old. The new crowns are in . They are sensitive to both heat and cold. Even room temp water make them hurt. Putting my partial in is excruciatingly painful. He says that this will all get better. I sure hope that it does.
