They're located within the Murrieta Spectrum, a pretty big plaza. However, no real designated place for their fleet. Not to worry because it seems you can leave the car anywhere when returning. Well, anywhere on their section of the plaza. Returns can take awhile-but they don't have to. Mostly if you want a receipt or some type of paperwork. Very old school here.

This car is impressive, my favorite feature (other than ludicrous mode) is the lane changing feature while in auto pilot. Don't worry, the car will find a spot to get over when it's safe! Mind blowing! Once in San Diego, many people were giving complements on the car. I had a guy in a Mercedes AMG say he was jealous... car folks know that's a compliment for sure! The vehicle was returned a slither from full, and was marked as 6/8 full and billed $60 for the gas. Avis argues on the phone that you essentially have no recourse because "you should have read the contract in its entirety before signing". The vehicle I got had a bubble gum wrapper in the door. Sticky. Food crumbs. I have always had problems when reserving with Avis ever since I began traveling 10 years ago. When rental cars are not available, Avis is always the last car rental company with an available car. I have had countless bad experiences with Avis all over the country. The staff have always been pleasant and kind. These issues lie with Avis as an organization, which I will not do business with in the future.

I picked up a car and waited about 50 minutes to be helped, then when I dropped off I waited about another 40. They do not answer the phones very often because the employees are oversaturated with customers, and while I feel for them, I was still inconvenienced by the lack of staffing and so were many other people I saw and spoke to. There is also a fee of $500 that is added at the end if you pay with debit, which is reimbursed after you return the car.. I'm not sure if that is standard procedure for car rental places but it came as an unwanted surprise for me. This review is primarily negative due to the long wait times, though.

My husband arrives and they have a tiny selection of small vehicles. I had told the rep I needed a vehicle that could hold 5-6 adults. Pathetic. Let me add too that we were switching the current rental they gave us last week that smells of old urine. Awful. Go somewhere else.

I reserved a Full-Size car a week in advance, but when I arrived, they told me it wasn't available. Instead of upgrading me or offering a price adjustment, they tried to force an involuntary downgrade to a Standard car. When I requested fair compensation for the cheaper vehicle class, the counter agent was completely dismissive and gave me a rude "take it or leave it" ultimatum. Because I refused to be ripped off, they refused to rent to me at all. Fortunately, I booked my reservation through Costco Travel, so I wasn't charged for their failure. I walked right across the street to a competitor, who happily rented me the exact vehicle class I needed without any issues. Avis in Temecula has awful customer service and zero problem-solving skills. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. I had rented from this location for many years with the previous management without problem.
