Totally defrauded me. In 2022 they delivered a tv and dropped it while doing so. They insisted on continuing the install, I was promised a full credit for the return months later after going back and forth. My request for the credit to be honored or a refund be completed is now with the district manager. The staff of this location is extremely unprofessional and will be entering into litigation if the district manager does not honor what the company rep said they would do. Horrible Service @ Rent-A-Center / San Pablo It took over 6 weeks to receive my purchased items, This was only after I had to call corporate office, since I kept being left on hold when I called the store. Spoke the 2 different District Managers, one of which assured me that I would receive my items in that weekend. Items never showed up. After about 15 phones calls, I finally was able to reach the store manager, only to get yelled at because I called corporate on them. Yet another delivery date was set. Guess what, Nothing came. 4 delivery dates were scheduled, and no actual delivery was made. NOT A CALL FROM THE STORE TO LET ME KNOW THAT THEY WERE NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO MAKE IT. NOT ONE. I was in the retail business in the past, so I understand how frustrating it can be when short staffed. Also, understand how the Upper Management refuses to see the store needs. -Tip, San Pablo Management- Take care of the customer with money on hand. A simple phone would have prevented any negative outcome. More than likely would have worked something out. This location is absolutely terrible - Please try to use another RAC location if you are doing business with them. We are currently trying to get in contact with their corporate office in Plano, Texas to alert them to investigate this particular location. We rented a dining set and twin bed set in June '21. On the delivery date everything was delivered - The dining set was fine; but the twin bed set was the wrong order, we contacted RAC on the same date as the delivery and they agreed to return and pick up the twin bed (no bedroom set as originally ordered, just a cot). We made the first scheduled payment for the dining set and on the same day, we received a text and call asking for payment on the "bedroom set." We have explained on numerous occasions that the bedroom set was returned to RAC on the same day it was first delivered. We have been put on long telephone holds, unable to speak with a manager, told that they have no records of employees that we have spoken to and no records. read more

Rented a fridge for a month to accommodate extra family staying with us over the holidays. I paid up front, and everything seemed to be going great: delivered and picked-up the fridge on time, staff was very polite... Except, they've been calling me about twice a week for the past month saying I have an outstanding balance on my account. Each time I've corrected them, reminding them that I did a short-term rental, not rent-to-own, and that I already paid in full. They check and say, yes, that does appear to be the case, we're sorry, we'll note this in your account. This is the routine every time and yet they still keep calling. They're very nice about it, but something's going wrong with their system and I wish they'd figure it out. We rented a recliner for one month for my husband post-shoulder-surgery. First, it came late, missing parts. Second the headrest smelled of strong hair tonic (gag). We had it picked up early, before the month's term ended. Then we were charged for two additional months' rent. I disputed it with the bank and RAC. One month's rent was credited. Then I spent 2 1/2 more months calling (at least a dozen times) and speaking to staff - Miguel was sweet, professional but ineffective, Bosslady Jennara just gave me a variety of excuses and never was of help. I was told over and over I'd get a call back with resolution but never did. I was always polite and kind on the phone until they started cutting off my calls before answering! Then I just said I'm giving up and calling the bank about fraud. Jennara didn't care. I would never, never, never, never, never, never, never, never recommend doing business here unless you are a complete masochist and want to waste lots of time and money!! read more

Well while starting my order a set of hispanic ladies walked in and the Hispanic guywoman Miguel that was helping me said hold on sir. Literally apologize like 7 times because for the next hour he is attending her needs because she has cash. Not to mention we got a great deal on a couch and loveseat set we wanted. The delivery of my items was exactly within the timeframe they gave and they were courteous and careful with my items/property. The guys and gals at the San Pablo rent a center are really quite super in my humble opinion. I had an emergency situation in which I needed 5 mattresses by the end of business day, and gave them a call at 11 AM. Brad (the manager) was very kind and patient and rushed me through their application process. Low and behold, by 4:40pm, Keith met me at my property and helped me in bringing in all 5 mattresses. Both Keith and Brad were extremely pleasant, friendly and professional. I understand that there may be some negative reviews towards this Rent A Center, but all I can say for anyone who shops here, is to treat the employees the way you would like to be treated. Fairly, with patience, and like a human. RAC, please give these guys a raise. They really helped me out in my last minute jam. read more

Never again! I reserved a laptop with John and I told him all the items that I HAD to have. He confirmed that the product had all of that so I began the process. Upon receipt of the item I find out that one of the programs that I needed for school is not in the laptop. Now everyone in the store tells me that it never had the program! When I try to return it I am told that I can't get a refund because the regional manager will not allow it. On their website is states that there is a worry-free guarantee for refunds. Return it within the first week of possession and you get your money back. Thank God for pre-paid legal cause now I have an attorney on this! read more

I have NEVER had a problem with the management or the people inside the store... when I first came into the store I was greeted by one of the managers (female)... since then, her (and another female "Daisy") are the ONLY ones that I deal with. Since October of last year, I've purchased a couch, 2 televisions, a laptop and a tablet... 3 out of the 5 items are paid off and I'm paying to own the remaining two items. I'll agree, the phone calls that you get sometimes are pretty rude... this is why I only deal with the people I met with in the beginning. If you're honest with them and tell them EXACTLY what's going on, they are MORE THAN WILLING to work with you. I don't feel like I'm being ripped off, they have ALWAYS repaired my items, and given discounts for any type of damaged item they sell. What more can you ask for? You signed a contract, how about you read it and abide by it! If you're late, they will call... you don't answer, they will leave messages and come get their items... it's not rocket science! I have purchased: sofas, coffee tables, refrigerator, tvs, dishwasher, netbook and surround sound system and RENTED: tvs, washer/dryers, gaming consoles, laptops and a desktop over the course of several years. I have a TV under my name for my husband ("it was on sale") and we are now a week late on payments and they showed up at my door to repossess the TV. They didn't get it, but couldn't wait until monday since my ach deposit is late. I'm upset because I'm a long time customer and have given them a lot of business and referrals. This location is extremely unprofessional. Our application was lost, come to find out a manager shredded it for no apparent reason. Supposed to have a couch delivered last weekend. Didn't get a phone call. Called them, they told me there was no driver available and that they were going to reschedule it to Monday. Monday comes and the couch was supposedly taken out of its plastic by a worker. Even after all of this my wife and I decided to still take the couch. When we asked questions she would answer in a way that she was too forced and too lazy to answer. I've had those days at work too but she wasn't even trying. Rent A center is the worse store you can take your business to. They never have merchandise that you want and they treat you like going to steal something from them. I originally purchase a set of couches but they didn't have in the store. So the manager send me a different ones and say that in 3 month my sofas was gonna come in. 6 month went by and nothing I call them ask them what happen. The manger said i am sorry Ashley's don't make those sofas no more. I was really upset because we was making payment on them. Then a week later new manager came in and call us in to come and help fix the problem. So my husband and i came in talk to a the Manager Dean which promise to get us some sofas at a better price. Two week later he call for the payment on the account i ask where was the sofas that they have promise us. He insulted me and say that i was taking advantage of the situation.
