    Let me just start by saying that these days I don't write many reviews. But after my experience with Monogram Manny at the San Rafael Airport Appliance showroom, I felt almost morally obligated to share the wealth with anyone who is in the market for premium home appliances. I walked in just expecting to browse a few options for a new range and maybe a fridge upgrade--and walked out not only more informed, but actually excited about my choices. That's how good the service was. First off, the selection at Airport Appliance in San Rafael is unmatched in the area. From entry-level basics to true pro-grade, luxury appliances, the showroom is impressively well-stocked. But what really made the experience shine was Manny. And yes, he insists you call him "Monogram Manny"--and trust me, he lives up to the name. I came in with some vague ideas and a Pinterest board full of dreams, but no real understanding of what I needed. Manny took his time--not rushing, not upselling, just listening. He asked smart questions about my cooking habits, space layout, and even aesthetic preferences before steering me toward the perfect options. We talked Monogram, Thermador, Miele--you name it--and not once did I feel pressured. His product knowledge is top-tier, and you can tell he genuinely loves helping people build their dream kitchens. He broke down the differences between models in a way that made total sense. I had my eye on a Monogram range, and Manny explained how it compared to other high-end options--not just by quoting specs, but by painting a picture of real-world usage. It felt like I was talking to a chef, a designer, and a technician all rolled into one. As far as value, I was blown away. Not only did Manny help me find top-shelf appliances within my budget, but he also clued me in on rebates, packages, and long-term perks that will save me money for years to come. You can tell he's not just trying to make a sale--he's building a relationship. And in this day and age, that's rare.     Jacob (reddish bearded guy?) in the paint dept. needs to be promoted - or given a raise, or both…read more Today we brought a large piece of chipped paint that peeled from our house to get a match paint color. The first guy put the piece in the matching machine and made our paint. It was too dark. So then he tried again - this time it didn't match at all. His solution - "oh well - that the best we can do." I asked if the machine was broken - we've never had this problem before. The first guy just shrugged and said it wasn't gonna be perfect. It wasn't even close! He basically said - take it or leave it. So I asked for a manager - first guy just wasn't capable of problem solving. Jacob heard and came over, took a look, knew exactly how much white to add to the first can - and boom...perfect match. Home Depot - if you lose your "Jacob", you're stuck with "the first guy" who makes $100 worth of bad paint that will eventually end up on the discount shelf. And you also lose customers. Jacob needs to train, he needs to be promoted, he needs to be a decision maker. We're tired of the first guy. The "take it or leave it"guy. The shrugging guy. Please retrain him to be like Jacob. Please hire more Jacobs.

    Miguel O. helped me during a recent Home Depot visit, and I felt compelled to leave a review…read morebecause he was truly exceptional. I've been a regular Home Depot customer since we bought our home about a year and a half ago, and while I've always found the staff helpful, Miguel stands out as the most helpful employee I've ever worked with. I'm currently in the middle of my largest DIY project to date: adding cabinet boxes and shelving to all of our existing kitchen cabinets. The project required purchasing several large sheets of plywood, understanding the differences between them, and figuring out the most efficient and accurate way to have everything cut. Miguel supported me through every step of the process. He helped me select the right materials, handled a significant amount of the board cutting, and when he needed to step away to assist other customers, he made sure I was seamlessly taken care of by Trevor (who was great too!) so I was never left unsure of what to do next. Beyond his technical knowledge, Miguel brought such a positive, optimistic attitude to the experience. He was patient, thorough, and genuinely enjoyable to work with. Employees like Miguel are the reason I keep coming back to this Home Depot. He absolutely deserves recognition and a raise.

    I went into this store because I am replacing EVERY SINGLE light fixture in a house I just…read morepurchased. I used to live in this neighborhood so was very familiar with the location of this store even though I had never been inside. I decided that I wanted to "shop local" vs purchasing everything online. I have my new kitchen and bathroom designed, the electricians are coming and I am ready to make my selections. I take time from my day to drive over to this place in my old neighborhood. When I arrived, there was another client ahead of me. That was no problem. I wasn't in a hurry as I had set this time aside for this purpose. I was looking around the room and the woman working there asked me what I needed and when I told her, "a lot of lighting" she let me know that she wouldn't be available to help me for 20 minutes or so. I said, that's fine I can wait. Then she asked me if I had made a list of what I needed and what purpose/function I expected from each light fixture. Ummmm. I have a list in my head. I haven't written down a list. I am not a list making type of person but I know my spaces. Then she tells me I need to go home and make a list and come back when I have it because otherwise, I am going to "fall in love" with items out of my budget. Huh?? I was so confused! She had no idea what my budget was. She literally sent thousands of dollars in unsolicited business out the door. This place must not need new clients. That's ok. There are plenty of places that will happily take my money. I walked into an appliance store today and they were thrilled to show me their inventory and assist me in my purchases. It was a stark contrast to my experience at Lunaria. EDIT: To respond to the response. You are not being truthful with what happened. NEVER did you infer that I step out for coffee and come back. I WAS the person who asked for catalogs to look through while waiting and you specifically told me that would be a waste of time without a list. Even your client seemed to pick up on the fact that you were about to lose a customer and she then said, "Here, here are some catalogs if you would like to view them." and that is when I said, "She just said that would be a waste of time and is not her process." If you're going to tell the story, please be honest about what occurred. Super frustrating experience considering I set time aside to come view some lighting and even was very clear that I was in no hurry and didn't mind waiting for you to finish. You made it obvious, you didn't want to speak to me unless I had a list of lighting with what I expected each light to achieve. Those were almost your EXACT words. Not mine. 2nd EDIT: I just saw in your biz description, "Appointments are recommended." This says it all. You could have simply told me, "I would love to help you but it sounds like you have a big project that will be time consuming and I will need you to schedule an appointment. In the meantime, it would be helpful for my process if you make a list..." That would have been much more productive instead of coming across as dismissive and patronizing. As for misrepresenting what occurred, there really is no excuse for that.

    If I could give this business 10 stars I would. In October I made an appointment and met with Alia…read moreto discuss replacement of three old lighting fixtures in my home. She listened carefully and presented options within my budget. When the fixtures arrived, and the vendor failed to include a part, Alia intervened quickly, and the vendor shipped the missing part. When the vendor failed to specify the right bulb for the chandelier that I bought, Alia intervened, contacted the vendor about the omission, and bought the correct bulb from a local store. Her husband delivered the correct bulbs in the rain to expedite installation. Alia embodies Retail at Its Best and has the expertise, patience and experience to find the right fixtures for your space. I recommend her and her business highly.
