I mentioned that I'm actively losing weight, and he made sure to take that into account so the suit would still fit well as my body changes. That level of care really stood out to me. Alan was also incredibly generous. I was able to use a store credit he had provided, and it was clear that he genuinely cares about his customers and wants to make sure everything goes well. That kind of service is rare these days. The Madison Avenue showroom is beautiful and the whole team makes you feel very welcome. I've had a really positive experience every time I've come here. That's why I returned in May 2025 to order a sportcoat. Unfortunately, the customer service this time fell short of my expectations. By late August, I realized I hadn't heard anything about the order and called for an update. I was told the fabric had been out of stock and later delayed due to the factory's vacation schedule, which seemed reasonable enough. In September, they contacted me for a fitting, but the appointment date inadvertently fell on a holiday when the store was closed. I rescheduled for October. At that visit, I was told the jacket would be ready in a few weeks, but again, no one reached out. In December--more than six months after ordering--I called once more and received a text saying they'd follow up with an estimated date. When I expressed frustration about the lengthy delay, they acknowledged that the initial order had been submitted late, which contradicted earlier explanations. To their credit, they took responsibility and offered a generous store credit, which was appreciated but not expected. The reason for my three-star rating isn't the final product, which was fine, but the lack of proactive communication. I had to repeatedly contact them just to understand what was happening with an order that had been paid for months earlier. Even my salesperson at Macy's is more proactive--and I don't spend thousands of dollars at a time there. My husband has had consistently positive experiences at Alan David, so I do believe my situation was an outlier and wouldn't discourage others from trying them. They ultimately handled the service recovery well; I only wish the issue had been acknowledged and addressed earlier. My hope is simply that their follow-up and order tracking become more reliable moving forward because otherwise, you might be left with the feeling that once you've paid, nobody really cares.

After I shed a tear, I got to work finding a place we could buy/ rent something great. I found this place and liked the selections they had and made an appt. Now he did go to Macy's to see what they had, but I they anything with that extra umpf needed for prom. When we got here they were very welcoming and got straight to work. After looking a bit, the gentleman helping him gave him a tux jacket to try on in his size...when I say the man child was smooth. They gave him the shirt, pants, and shoes...he came out looking like a Mocha Bond...so handsome. His mom was in tears...lol! He knew he looked good b/c it just fit him so well! We decided to rent and you get a lot when you do. Jacket Pants Shirt Tie or Bowtie Vest or Suspenders or Cummerbund Pocket Squares Shoes Studs and cufflinks... all for under $250. Can't beat that. We will jazz it up even more with custom bowtie, cufflinks, etc. He's gonna be the star, not the prom date. LOL LOL! Definitely come here. They will get you together.

They closed the store 13 mins before closing and we had to beg them to let us see a shirt in the window. They made us feel un welcome and un wanted. Every time I have come in here the entire staff acts like they are miserable. Really unfortunate since I think you have great vintage pieces but I can't find myself to go back in the store with that kind of negative nervy coming from the store workers. I have shopped here and purchased items every time we have come in so to be treated like this really is sad and I don't want to give business here anymore. I hope you improve your staff!
