If there was an option to put zero stars I would. Absolutely do not ever rent from Renters Warehouse, I have had simple maintenance request submit since the beginning of July. I have 6 open maintenance request and there is zero indication they will ever be fixed. The maintenance crews respond to me with generic answers read from a list. I also had my AC break in July and it took over a week for them to fix meanwhile my house was over 100 degrees leaving me with nowhere to go. I have made nearly 100 calls related to this wasting hours upon hours of my time trying to get my request filled and I am always met with an excuse. Some of the request are complex and some of them are as simple as a $20 part from home depot that takes 5 minutes to replace. I am astonished that a company this slow and non customer centric has managed to stay in business. read more

I originally contacted Renters Warehouse because at the time i was thinking of renting out my townhouse but after further discussion with Curt were he provided me with the information of what I would get for renting out my house I decided to sell my house. I decided to list my house through him and it was the best decision ever!! My house needed a lot of work and he did not just say "fix it up an let me know when it is done" he has a vast network of resources available and made the fix up of my house as simple as possible. He went above and beyond what most realtors would have done. He is a straight shooter and will tell you what you NEED to hear and not just what you WANT to hear. Nightmare on rental street. Never have I in all my life experienced a worse rental experience than I did with renters warehouse. I am an 800 credit score low debt never missed a rental payment in my life renter. The nightmare began day 1. The day we moved in the air-conditioning was literally torn apart and the house was clearly not ready to have residents. The garage door would randomly open while we were at work. An issue known by the owner before us moving in. It took weeks to replace it and when it was replaced with the cheapest POS garage door opener I have ever seen, it broke again. We went months without a functioning garage door opener. This is in a Scottsdale house rental! I can't imagine how this company handles lower end units. Then a pipe burst requiring a construction crew in our home for days that I had to be there to supervise our belongings. Then when we finally moved out, the owner, having found absolutely nothing wrong with the house kept a portion of out deposit! She said there was smoke smell.....which she never mentioned and was not noted until weeks later. Funny thing is, I am required by my job to not smoke..my office is a smoke free campus, my insurance clearly states non-smoker, my doctor will attest to me having never smoked, I work out 7 days a week....more importantly I have never smoked in my entire life! An absolute positive nightmare experience. I spent literally hundreds of hours of my own life dealing with and worrying about our rental. Before working with Renters Warehouse CHECK THEIR REVIEWS! I would give Renters Warehouse zero stars if I could but I had to give them one to leave this review. I spoke to Joannie Sabek here in Phoenix Arizona about a property I wanted to see and instead of scheduling me an appointment to see the property she directed me to a video of the house and asked me to fill out an application. I told her I would fill out the application after seeing the house and she scheduled me an appointment for the next day at 2:30... I was there at 2:15 and at 2:17 she text to say she had to get gas and wouldn't be there until 2:45. I told her that would be fine. She then called me at 2:45 and said she had an emergency that she had to tend to and wouldn't be able to show me the house for another hour so I went home. She then called me at 4:34 asking if I could return. I said yes or we could schedule the tour for the next day at 10:30 and she text to say the next day (today) at 10:30 would work for her. I arrived at the house at 10:20 and at 10:25 another person showed up and asked if I'd be showing the house or if I was there to tour. I told him I had a 10:30 appointment to tour and he said he did too! We both texted her and I called her and she didn't return my text or call until 10:45 saying she'd be there at 11. I reminded her that my appointment was at 10:30 and the other gentleman had the 11. When I arrived home she text to say that she was at the house and she'd be there for 30 minutes but I was sure this was a scam so I didn't return... If you get Joannie Sabek RUN! Horrible service and follow up on owner concerns. They do not look after your property at all. Just as much work if I did this myself.

I was all set to sign up with them but I took a little extra time to try and get a better understanding as to what I was signing. Their agent Glenna ended up listing the property omitting important information. The ad also had false information and no pictures on Zillow. She didn't take any notes when she looked at the house and only posted about 15 photos on Craigslist which were all blurry. The problems really began when I was telling her about it and she kept telling me not to worry about it because she had 3 appointments to show the home. I told her that was awesome but I wanted her to understand where I was coming from. False info on an ad is never a good thing. She kept cutting me off and essentially berating me for worrying about the small stuff. I told her to have her manager call me before I'd move forward. Then the texts began. She kept insinuating that everything was my fault, saying she was the best agent with no complaints, and trying to entice me with this "perfect renter". Only problem is I never signed the listing agreement, so she knew she had listed the home illegally and wanted to rush me to sign up. I ended up having my new Property Management Company pick up the keys. They're doing the exact same service at a higher level of performance for $1,000 less. read more

This has been a nightmare since day one. Starting with the representative Michael Ray, all he wanted to do is tell me what a piece of sh@t my house was. Then he lost the key and tried to say we gave him the wrong key. I know what my house key looked like...I should have stopped everything at that point but thought maybe he was just a bad apple in their company and moved forward with their services. I called about a property and was told it was available, after giving the p.m a verbal rundown of my needs etc I'm told they have more than 1 house to fit my needs. After driving 11 hours from Sacramento to AZ I was told that my 19 yr old needed a 600 credit score as well as the adults on the lease mind you she's 19 in college full time and doesn't work. I initially spoke with a very nice woman who told me the home I wanted needed some work but she could still show it to me,fast forward 1 day later a woman with a nasty ass attitude tells me otherwise. Suggestions Make sure all listings are accurate, make sure all staff who answer the phone or emails has an updated rental listing daily, not only would this be professional but it would save time as well Update: The home was a brand new 3bdrm in Goodyear and the other was a house in Laveen that needed some work bc of the last tenant both were listed as being able to be shown, when I initially called from Sacramento the staff was extremely helpful. But there seemed to be a disconnect between what they said and what happened when I got to AZ I cut my trip short bc if the incident. I ended up staying in Cali this turned me off completely from relocating from another state seeing as I wasted time and money coming down only to get nothing. Update - to clarify my complaints are not with the HOA violations. But if we're going to bring this up, we were told upon touring the house. The big tree in the front yard was not tenant responsibility. As soon as we got our first HOA notice, it suddenly became our responsibility. My complaints were talking about how on two separate occasions in the summer we lost air-conditioning and it was a fight to get fixed, it's losing heat and it taking almost a week to get fixed in the coldest time of the year, us having to fight twice to get the garbage disposal fixed, and the rep Diego repeatedly hanging up in my face and not calling back when he said he would. read more

By far the worst company I have ever dealt with. Myself and my two roommates moved into our rental property in August to find a house dirty, littered with dead cockroaches and other insects, mainly scorpions, a broken window, bad plumbing, drawers filled with human hair (we think it's human?), amongst other issues. They take WEEKS to respond to any request you have, and absolutely refuse to speak with you on the phone. Our current issue is that our sink has been disconnected for over two months after notifying them. To make matters even worse, they are currently trying to push the maintenance charges on US for the problems that existed in the house before we even moved in! I cannot stress enough how horrible of a company this is, at least in the Tempe area. STAY AWAY FROM RENTERS WAREHOUSE if you value your sanity. Edit: After hearing the response from Renters Warehouse on this post, I am even more happy to give this company one star. They take zero responsibility for anything with their properties. The hair in the shower was not from 'daily use' it was built up for months more than two feet into the pipes underneath the shower from PRIOR tenants. Further, 'constant communication' is certainly not what I get with renters warehouse -- it took four weeks to get our shower unclogged, a week to fix our broken fridge, and has been over two months without a sink. read more

Absolutely terrible. They never took care of the maintenance issues, just passed them on to me. In once case they ignored the renters request for help with backed up plumbing for 6 days until the renter contacted me directly. When the renters moved out, their move out inspection missed a couple of expensive issues and returned their deposit. Namely cat urine soaked carpet, the smell was terrible. I used their "move out" service to clean the renters trash and all they did was take an expensive walnut table of mine and LEFT THE RENTERS TRASH. When I tried to talk with Renters Warehouse about it, they refused to talk with me. Only a BS email excuse. I could go on... stay away from these people at all costs. I have filed a complaint with the BBB also. EDIT: Melissa or Colleen. Numerous calls and emails were sent, almost all unanswered. The only replies I got were a couple emails making excuses. NO APOLOGY or attempt to remedy my loss of about $8,000 due to your companies blatent screwup was ever issued. No manager ever called to discuss this. Its all find and dandy for someone to "say" they want to help on Yelp but when it came down to it nobody did. This IS representative of how you run your company as evidenced by the numerous 1 star reviews here and on other sites. read more

Found us a tenant quickly but found them to be deceitful, unresponsive and lazy. The tenants were frequently late paying but we never got anything but form letters and they kept all late fees. Charged us two months fees in advance with a three year lease; we didn't want one and didn't see any income for months. Any needed repair was three to five times more expensive through their"contractors" and frequently the service fee was more than the repair. Profit sharing, perhaps? In any case their local service reps were never available and it frequently took weeks to resolve tenant issues. Their final walkthrough and video missed over $ 1500 in tenant caused repairs, even though the needed repairs were in the video! I have used management agencies for 18 years but won't ever use this rotten outfit again! read more

I'd give zero stars if I could. 6 years of issues, that we started just calling the owner directly for issues. Got approval from owner to vacate a month early since they wanted to move back in, and the market has been crazy. We even have correspondence of the owner approving a full deposit refund. The guy who called to verify our move out date, is the same guy who did the walk through. NOW, we receive a notice to pay or vacate to our NEW address (we gave that for our deposit refund), and now we have to go through the whole process again with the owner. Do you all even know what you're doing? You have TWO days remaining to get us our deposit or you're in violation of state law. Get. It. Together. We moved out April 30th and you did a walk through May 2nd. Do you guys communicate at all? Make notes in accounts? Anything. Fix it!!! read more

Since Renters Warehouse has become a corporation the commitment to service has gone down using third-party companies to take their calls and you become no longer personal with the company. Here in Phoenix Arizona you are not able to get directly to representative here in Phoenix. (Even if you speak directly to them in Phoenix they aren't helpful. I used this Corporation company for more than three years and I have learned that lots of what this company is about. There ins and out. This company is the Walmart/99cent store of all management companies. I have dealt with managers from this corporation and they are all inconsistent and will give you the run around just so that they don't need to go to court!! The people who look to rent out your property do not care for homeowners but only care for their "commission". Yeah they get your property rented out in days/hours after listing it. But after that good luck on how they manage it!!! Trust me I have a plethora of emails that went NOWHERE!! Message ME personally and I will take my time and explain further to make my case. Don't even fall for their FCO representatives they ain't of any help either. They are sales agents that want their commission and then good bye deal with it!!! They now are stating in the last comment below that: "The homeowner makes all final decisions on the deductions from the security deposit; this is not a Renters Warehouse decision." I guess they didn't see the email I attached to the last review showing that the owner requested them to release the funds 12 days prior to them actually releasing the money. It amazes me how someone can not just take responsibility for how horrible this situation was handled. Hence the 2 stars they have as a company. An it would be less if people could give 0 stars but that's not an option. There are tons of reviews of people wishing they could give 0 stars. The excesses this company makes for their actions is deplorable. I would never recommend this company to my worst enemy. Worst communication skills ever just to take penalty charges from you. I've never felt with such an uninformative group of people in my life . Takes 24 to 48hrs to answer anything because the initial phone call personnel does not have any answers and it is out of his/her hand. They never do get back to you within that time. If i could give them no stars i would. I used them to manage my rental property with the promise that it takes the stress off me and they do the work... NO!!! they do nothing but process the rent money and take a hefty cut. They do nothing to actually manage the property, if a tenants has a problem they just relay the problem to a random repair company, and the between takes so long the it really makes the renters mad. They don't do any inspections and if the renter has a problem they have a automated service,, so what am i paying them for, there managers (and i use that term loosely) are lazy and don't answer phone calls!!!! In my case they took so long to respond to a tenants condenser that it ended up turning in to a 3000.00 cost to me and the loss of the renter! this was something that if they handled correctly or if i handled my self it would have cost me about 70 bucks and and about 20 min of my time for a couple phone calls. They wouldent admit they made a mistake but compensated me a measly 250.00 for my $3k in losses due to their negligence! _____________ Important!!!! Never use any of Renters Warehouses contractors, I decided to replace the roof so i got some bids, RW contractor was the lowest that included the most extras. They tried to ripe me off, contract stated that they would replace the sheathing underneath and they charged me for it but they didn't! Luckily i used my own contractor for the drywall repair and he found that they did not replace it and alerted me! I would give 0 stars if I could. This company has been absolutely terrible. My AC broke in July in Phoenix Arizona where the outside temperature is about 116. The inside temperature of my house is 99 degrees. Renters warehouse has been sitting on this issue for 5 days now. They said on day 2 that they would bring portable AC units to help with the heat. It is now day 5 and there has been nothing. My roommates and I have had to call about 20 times each to be met with people who are unwilling to help. They just keep transferring me to maintenance coordinators who refuse to do anything or give any updates. I have to take time out of my work day to keep calling to ask for an update or either fixing the AC or providing an alternative solution. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM. They keep casting my problem aside as if I, as a tenant with no AC for 5 days, am not important. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Every single person I've spoken to there, including supervisors should be fired and never have a job in customer service ever again. Not willing to provide a safe living condition for me and my roommates. read more

There was 1 month where I tried to pay my rent while my phone was not connected to wifi and my data plan didnt allow it to go through and my rent was late. I called and explained the situation and they removed the late fee for me since in 2 years living here ive never been late. Used them originally about 4 years ago to place tenants and was great. Brought them back into the fold recently and has been nothing but a disaster. Two months in and both my tenants and my ledger are messed up, there accounting/finance team is difficult to communicate with and in general its been a terrible experience. Two weeks of providing the same information over and over and it's still not correct - not really sure what we are even paying them for at this point. I can no longer recommend renters warehouse and I would avoid them at this point. You would be better suited somewhere else where they actually get customer service. Our tenants are moving away and fortunately our relationship with Renters Warehouse is ending soon, although we have now tried for over a week to schedule a final walkthrough and after countless calls and being told they will "Call us back" we still do not have a time, or date on when that will occur. The executive team over at Renters Warehouse needs to clean house with this Phoenix division, its incompetence, negligence and overall lack of customer service is astounding. read more
