Not sure what all the negative reviews are about. Reo does great work. My brother came down for long weekend to get a consultation and tat with Reo. Since he couldn't decide Reo tatted me up as a walk-in. He did a great job and I'm very happy. Everyone got tattoo fever and we returned the next day (Sunday). My wife and sister in law came in with Internet images of what they wanted. Reo freehanded both images. Total time for two more well done tattoos: a little over 2 hours. Great work Reo! My experience with this business is different than most. I went with my niece for her second piercing and her first body piercing (tragus). We went late and he was there by himself. Filled out all the paper work but I have experience with piercing so she was properly prepared before hand. He was meticulous and every thing was sterile (MAJOR IMPORTANT) and patient with her. My double helix piercing was done diagonal not straight, it was done so slanted that I couldn't even put another peircing in it. I could not sleep on the side of my head where the peircing was because I was in so much pain. Also I found out he put a NOSE PIERCING in my ear instead of a ear peircing, my ear was suffocating and could not heal. He did an alright job on me and my friends tattoos. My tattoo has two spots that are missing color and some of the lines aren't straight. I tried starting small conversation with him to not be awkward but he looked at me like 'shut the fuck up and let me work.' During this time is when the Texas school shooting had just happened and he was watching the news on it, he makes the comment 'it should've been high school students instead of the kids.' I got my nose pierced here 7 years ago. He did a good job but wasn't overly friendly. And he seemed to have gotten less friendly as time has gone by. I got my (13 yr old) sister's 2nd lobe piercing today and I didn't enjoy the experience. There were just 2 people working. A man and a woman. When we entered there was someone at the counter and people sitting in the waiting area. We waited a few minutes until a woman came out and talked to the people ahead of us and then talked to us. She was friendly. She then walked back into the (seemingly only) room. Then came back out got us forms and the payment. We were never told how long the wait would be and could ask as she went back into the room. There is a room that kids were in and we did not see them but definitely heard them. After maybe 10 minutes we were led to the room and my sister sat on the bed. Reo asked her what she was getting pierced and didnt say anything after that. He cleaned her lobes and marked them. He showed her the markings and asked if they were okay, and she said yes. Since she's 13 I looked them over as well to make sure. I didn't like how one side was and mentioned that it should be a little lower and he said no and explained the sequence of lobe piercings should curve upwards. I said yes it doesn't need to be at the bottom but it needs to be lowered a little bit. He seemed very annoyed that I question the marking but did re do it. I mentioned that my first holes were uneven so I didn't want her to have that problem and he ignored my comment. The attitude was very offputting. He proceeded to clamp and pierce her ears without saying anything. Not about what he was doing, if she was ready, nothing. The results were good. The placement was good. The needles were new. The used ones were placed in the proper receptacle. Everything was clean. He wore gloves etc. So I would say if you want the bare minimum then this is a good spot. But if you're expecting good customer service, a pleasant time, or a human experience then don't come here. I wanted a pleasant experience with someone who cared about their client (especially being a minor). But at least it was clean. read more

I do NOT recommend this place for anything, my first time in there around 2012, I wanted to get a price quote on a tattoo. I came in and there was a child at the counter who was about 9 years old and a man sitting in the seating area watching tv, im thinking maybe perhaps the child would get an adult for a customer but no, he did not. Im thinking the man watching tv is waiting his turn to get tattooed, but no, he is the tattoo artist. I was in there a good 15 min looking at the pictures on the wall before he got off his big ass to see if I needed help. I felt as though I was disturbing him during his tv time, he was not friendly at all. Fast forward a year, I made the mistake of going in to get a simple ear piercing. The woman who did it was nice enough and did an okay job, but gave no kind of after care instructions, I had to ask her if there was anything I should do to clean it and she told me to just keep it in for a week or so and to clean it with peroxide, all wrong! Good thing I have enough sense to find things out for myself or I would've had infected earlobes. read more

Went to get my nose pierced a few weeks after my birthday on a split second decision . I excitedly and nervously walked in and told the lady at the desk what I wanted she consulted Reo and told me he would be ready soon, which was true . After that I was expecting to be asked for an ID card and go through some semi extensive paperwork as I did with my navel piercing ( pierced in a different state ) but she didn't ask for anything ... I was very disappointed with the lack of nose rings they had to choose from as I was specific on the size I wanted . To the important part, he marked my nose and DIDNT EVEN LET ME SEE before he grabbed my nostril with some force and shoved the needle through . I went home and when I looked at the placement it was HORRIBLE , it was entirely too close too the edge of my nose . I went back to get it re-done 2 days later and he re-pierced it with this huge gold nose ring to my dismay but free of charge . He didn't even disinfect the area before piercing it. As I was leaving I expected to be handed something to clean my new piercing with but when I inquired the lady told me they didn't carry any and to just use rubbing alcohol . It later got infected . I got lower cart-ledge piercings and one of them you can't even see the back of the earring because the skin has grown over top of it due to the swelling and him not using the right earring. I went to get my septum pierced and Reo pierced it right by my cartilage which made it impossible to even smile and I tried to remove the ring but the barbell was put on too tight. Keep in mind I paid $38 for the septum. And I could not remove the ring cause Reo placed it on too tight so I had to go back to get it removed and I had to pay another $5 so he could remove something he put on tight. This is a very nice shop. Very charming, feels homey , wish I had taken photos. The lady at the front counter, who's name I cant recall is fantastic and will makes you feel welcomed. She was an excellent choice for hire's because someone has to make up for the lack of customer service you get when you go back to see Reo. Anyway, I know a few people who've had tattoos done by him and all the work I've seen myself in person... looks excellent! He knows what he's doing and I believe the shops been there somewhere around 25 years... so the experience is definitely there. As I mentioned earlier, customer service is not his forte. It was son's 16th birthday and he wanted his ears pierced. We didn't want to go to the mall so we chose Reo. We called the day before and got pricing which was great. When it was our turn we went back and Reo said nothing. He was very focused at getting us in and out. Everything was clean and sterile and his only words were "how's that?" When he handed my son the mirror after marking where the holes would go. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone wanting a piercing or tattoo as long as you don't require any sort of small talk... I mean not even a hello. Haha.. I walked in and they were pretty busy it was 12:30 PM on a Tuesday so that should show you how many people actually go to Reo's. I had to wait for about 45 minutes but I didn't mind. The employees there are simply there to do their job and that's it. Reo may come off as rude to many people but he's just not a conversationalist and he takes his work serious. DO NOT GET YOUR PIERCINGS HERE. I came here a few months ago with my friend. I was getting two piercings as a birthday gift to myself and walked out dizzy and in pain. I got both my tragus and conch pierced and I've never dealt with a piercer this rough. He walked in, didn't say a word other than "who's first" and just did the piercings. It took him a long time to get the jewelry in and he was pulling and tugging on it while doing so, so it hurt A LOT. Also, he used a small ring for my conch and left no room for swelling whatsoever. He didn't give any cleaning or care instructions afterwards but honestly I just wanted to get out of there. Having had 10 piercings already, i can say this was the worst experience I've ever had. And unsurprisingly, both of the piercings grew irritation bumps only a week after having had them done. A few months later i got my rook and conch pierced on the other ear at a different piercing place and they're healing perfectly fine so i knew that it was a problem caused by the piercer. I would give no stars. Worst place ever. OMG all we went there for was a change in nose piercing for my 16 yr old daughter. He was not professional. Never said two words to us. No care instructions, no information on the new ring, NOTHING. Lady was very nice and professional I wish we had her. The heavy set guy was terrible. He was so heavy handed and my daughter left there in tears. He yanked the piercing out not even asking the type of piercing she had. Me and my boyfriend went here on a whim to get lips tattooed $60/each, #3 for me. Reo himself did them and they look great!! Reo is a funny guy who looks to be very family oriented (pics everywhere). The studio is nice and clean with tattoo ideas adorning the walls and galleries of flip-throughs. If I'm ever out there again and need a tatt on a whim I may stop by there. One iffy is that he keeps a TV in the tattoo area which is a bit distracting. read more

This was her first tattoo and he didn't even explain the process or what she should expect I had to tell her. Went there and had a pretty large tattoo, even though the price wasn't horrible I paid for it with the quality of the tattoo. It was my first tattoo so I didn't understand what having a "heavy hand" can do until my father went there a few days after me. he said REO was one of the worst tattoo artists he's been to. my dad has 8 tattoos from a few different artists. my tattoo ended up bleeding out of the lines from him having such a heavy hand in a bout 6 different places. I also have scaring and I've had my tattoo for over a year now and it doesn't look horrible but I notice it and don't love it. I didn't realize how bad of a tattoo artist he was until I went to a different shop all the way in Fairfax to get my recent tattoo and my tattoo artist asked me where I got it and right when I said Dumfries VA he said "please tell me it wasn't Reo" he didn't have nice words to say about him! bottom line, the prices aren't bad but if you're looking for a good tattoo artist and someone without a heavy hand GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! you will have this on your body for the rest of your life.. pay the extra money!!! read more
