Where to start... Well my NI instruments S4 after a couple of really good gigs (not a couple I mean a LOT of gigs) started to behave erratically. Dust and drink spills into the hardware charged the toll... so there were a lot of times that I just put it away and let it collect even more dust ! After I finally tried to talk to NI for some customer service I found my self lost in the woods, no one at native were answering my emails or giving me a direction to folllow !! My Traktor S8 was experiencing sporadic power issues and after research it seemed my options were to either send it to NI in Germany or to Repair Dj Gear. Stay away. Worst scammer in Orange County. Destroyed my vintage 1980s Realistic SCR-8 radio/boombox. I took my 'working' boombox to Repair DJ Gear (owner is Scott Garven) for general clean up (volume, bass, treble controls and to see if he can fix the cassette) and I requested a quote to 'restore' the unit. This boombox is from the 80s and I bought it on eBay in partial working condition for $300. I was able to play music through the aux input using my cellphone but there were other issues that needed attention. Scott had my unit for 4 months and I got to the point where I told him that I want it back because he wasnt making any progress even if it was in the same condition when I first dropped it off for him. He told me that its in pieces and that he was not able to put it back together to make it functional. I had to pick my unit up from a 3rd party electronics repair shop in Huntington Beach AFTER I paid them $100 for their evaluation. So, the bottom line is that this vintage 1980s radio/boombox cost me $400 and all I have is the unit in pieces that are useless. Scott fixed my Denon DJ MC6000 MK2 DJ Controller. He was confident that he would be able to fix it before he even saw it after giving him a description of the symptoms. I dropped it off at his office, which was quite nice. He wasn't in at the time; however, he had great friendly staff there to help me fill out a form and accept my Controller. My cat completely destroyed my built in RCA cables, and I had no experience or desire to splice them myself. I had quick service and got the cables replaced with some higher quality and more sturdy (significantly) Mogami cable. I met Scott in 2013. I had 2 Technic Turntables that needed to be refurbished. Right from the start, Scott projected positive energy and was very professional. My Klipsch floor speaker was dead and I called Repair DJ Gear. Scott was very nice and patient to listen to me to describe the problems and asked me to bring the speaker to his shop. I bought a vintage turntable last year that I really fell in love with and had about 6 months with it before it mysteriously stopped working. I tried everything to revive it. The dealer who sold it to me moved away, and other turntable fixers were either far away, retiring, or unresponsive. I even tried to fix it myself with the help of the internet, but it didn't work. One electrician told me to replace the vintage motor (they're very hard to find), and another repairman advised me to not pursue it any further and just get a new machine (heartbreaking news). Scott at Repair DJ Gear was my last hope. On the phone he was very professional and optimistic about his ability to fix it. After all the running around I had done, I didn't put much stock into it and considered it a hail mary, a last ditch effort before I bought a new machine. BUT HE DID IT! He fixed it and it's as good as new.
