I had Speaker Repair Pros refoam four Dynaudio woofers from a pair of Cello Grandmaster speakers. Due to the scarcity of these speakers, I wasn't willing to take a chance on shipping them through UPS/FedEx/USPO. From Ventura County down to Garden Grove and back is a horrible drive. Disappointed in Speaker Repair Pros. My complaint seems like a pretty common one. I left my speakers for repair. They gave me an invoice for $0 and stamped the invoice paid. I waited 26 days and picked up my speakers. The speakers were not fixed and I was told that the part that was required was still on back order from Ebay. My invoice had been marked $0 paid which made it very confusing to know whether I had put a deposit down or not. My recollection was that I paid cash by I could be mistaken. Seems like invoice should have been marked more clearly so there was no question as to whether down payment was made or not. The actual invoice states that payment must be made in full or a 50% deposit made with any repair left for service. It is my opinion that the invoice should have been clearly marked which it wasn't. Also, 26 days is to long to wait for a simple repair. Not real confident in the way this business is run. read more

Great repair & service! I obtained a used pair of Klipsch 5.2s, the cabinets looked perfect so I assumed the speakers would also be in great condition. Turns out one of the woofers was coming apart at the seams from the age of the glue. I could hear buzzing from that woofer. A friend told me about Speaker Repair Pros. I called and talked to them and he suggested I send in the woofer from each speaker so after the repair they would match in sound quality. First I removed the bad woofer, then as I was removing the other (good) one I noticed it had a tear in it that I did not notice before. So good call to send in both! Two weeks later they were repaired and return shipped back to me. They not only sound great, but they look just like a new version of the original woofer. Prior to shipping them away I was a little concerned about sending them after reading some other reviews regarding lack of contact. I asked my friend about this and he convinced me that it would be OK as he had them refurbish quite a few speakers with no issues. Off they went to Speaker Repair Pros and I am glad I sent them. I bought a pair of Paradigm Studio 100 v2's used and was really loving them until the rubber surrounds started cracking on my drivers and I couldn't find replacements anywhere. Paradigm didn't have them, nobody did. Simply speakers.com sent me to Speaker repair pros and this guy had the solution for a very fair price. He put foam surrounds on and said it would sound better. These guys here do amazing work. I brought in a beat and worn out 1989 Cerwin Vega 124 12 inch subwoofer and the did wonders to it. It was shot out and the guy that had it before tried a poor repair job. Luckily these guys helped me by fixing it and making it so much better than it was originally made. This place is the WORST! I took in a small Mackie personal monitor on Jan 3rd, 2024. Bao told me it would be completed with a week or two. I waited until Jan 17th, and then called three times. No answer. I waited until the 29th, as he's only open on Mon-Wed from 12-5. I finally drove there, and found him open. It's now been three weeks. I asked why he never answered his phone and he said he was busy, yet there's no one in the shop. I asked if it was ready, and found he hadn't even looked at it. He said he could check it immediately, which he did. He came out and said it powered up, but no sound, which is exactly what I told him when I dropped it off. He added he knew a place where it could possibly be repaired, but parts for it were "impossible to get" and he was not able to repair it himself. He said he could get it to him, and get an estimate. Okay, great. Feb 13th, called again three times, no answer. Feb 19th, went in AGAIN, and he called the place where his "guy" was, GPS Electronics, in Norwalk. This time he spoke with someone there, and was told that the owner was diagnosed with cancer and was currently going through chemotherapy. He said he would check to see if someone else in the shop could repair it and would get back to be. Surprise, surprise! He did not call me back. This time, I did manage to get a card from the place where he took it. I called him again three more times on March 5th, no answer. I waited a until March 19th, and went in for the fourth time and spoke with him again.. He reiterated that the owner was sick with cancer and was going through chemo, and that he would call them and get back to me. Yeah, right...that's going to happen. I called again on March 19th, and again, no answer. I decided to call the place where he said my monitor was. The owner, George, immediately answered the phone. I explained what was going on and he said that he is completely healthy, and that his driver was the one who was ill. He advised me that my monitor was ready for pick up, and that the repair was completed on Jan 31st. Bao was going to charge me $140.00, and George said, no, it's only $130.00. I paid the repair charge and left with a working monitor. George was fantastic, and I'd recommend him highly. Nice guy, honest, and easy to talk to. As far as Bao and Speaker Repair Pros, walk away from them. There is a major veracity problem, ZERO communication, and and monumental poor customer service. I would have given them a "0" rating, but it is not possible. Save yourselves the heartache and avoid this place like the plague. read more

I purchased a pair of Altec 19 speakers lately. They sounds a little muffled due to their old capacitors in both crossover. I looked for a trustworthy speaker repair shop near by. I saw people post a good reviews to Speaker Repair Pros and decided to bring my speakers to Al, the owner, for an inspection and necessary parts replacement. Al made a test on both speakers immediately in his workroom and suggested me to have the tweeters and woofers magnet recharge, and dried up capacitors and inductors replaced. I listen to the speakers after the repair, the quality of Altec 19 sound reappear and become alive. They sound amazing. I am very lucky to find a speaker repair expert like Al. I own a somewhat rare set of speakers and needed a couple of woofers repaired. Both needed new spiders and surrounds. SRP took them in, fixed them and once I reinstalled them into the cabinet, the speakers sound amazing. What a fantastic job he did and his pricing is very fair. I brought in a subwoofer 3.5 months ago. Have called twice a week starting 1 month ago. Have not been able to get an answer or call back. Have they gone out of business? I have been a customer of orange county speaker for over 25 years. My company, RCN Entertainment, services sound systems for bars, clubs, and restaurants in San Diego and was disappointed to find out that OC speaker was going to close. After talking to the owners, I found out that their lead speaker tech was going to open up his own shop. I also had used Orange County Speaker 10 years ago to re-edge my 4 Boston towers. They came back quick and perfect. So recently I needed to have my Boston HD7s re-edged and used Speaker Repair Pros as recommended by Orange County Speaker as they no longer do this. I received a quick response with a quote, sent my 2 removed speakers, and 2 weeks later had them back in my hands including shipping both directions!
