This is a bit out there. I live in California. I inherited a Lexus sc430 from my grandfather yesterday. Today my wife noticed the tail lights were on while parked. I could NOT get the tail Lights to turn off! It's after 8pm and all the repair shops are closed. I figured Hawaii is three hours behind us so I googled repair shops in Honolulu. I called Repairs Done Right and a technician immediately knew what to do. He literally told me to grab a penny and some tape and cover the hole at the top of the brake pedal under the dash. First time here. My A/C stopped working 2 months ago. I called on Friday 5-3 and was able to get a 4pm appointment today 5/6. I appreciated the text message reminder for my appointment. I called in today and was able to get my truck in for service at 12pm. The lady on the phone had one of the best customer service. She was polite, professional, and helpful. Even when I went into the office to drop off my keys she still had that same upbeat personality. When my vehicle was diagnosed she provided a full quote and explained what would be done. Vehicle was completed in a timely manner. Upon completion she and pick up she still explained what they did to my vehicle. I really appreciated that. Staff was AMAZING and UNDERSTANDING! Arrived at the shop late afternoon and office staff greeted me right away with a smile. Explained the issues that I have been having with my car battery/starter and an oil change, after throughly explaining what I have been hearing/noticing on my car they informed me that it could be my starter and they will take a look. My daughter kept getting startled by the background noise with staff working on the cars, and staff showed compassion towards my daughter and told her "Don't be afraid. You are safe." When I asked for an ETA, they told me it would take about 45 minutes to an hour. After leaving my contact number, they would either contact myself or my husband. 15 minutes after I walked away from the shop, I realized I forgot my child's car seat/booster seat. Walked back into the shop and staff kindly returned my keys for me to retrieve my personal belongings I also informed them that I had a doctors appointment in 2 hours. She showed understanding and told me she will contact me if they're running behind or run into any issues. Billy contacted my husband the same day and informed him of his findings. It was our starter and they would be able to complete the repairs the next day. Because we only have one vehicle and it was already late in the day, we were able to borrow a friend's vehicle for the time being. The PRICE was UNBEATABLE! RDR is a respectable quality hole in the wall mechanic shop. The mechanics, and office staff are knowledgeable and professional in their own fields. You are greeted kindly as soon you enter till you leave their shop. However they did make a mistake on my vehicle, but was quick to apologize and fix it asap. 5 STARS +... BILLY IS THE BEST JUST LIKE ALL HIS REVIEWS SAY Okay so my Dad gives me his 05 Chrysler 300, good condition always serviced ect. he say air con don't work. I take it to this place in Kalihi (be careful guys, do your research) I'll give them a review later, I actually went there only for a safety check? Since a was there I told them to check out the car. They say condenser need to be replace. And the front end needs work, yes it was wobbling a little?. Anyway I let them service the car, they charged me and arm and a leg to service motor and transmission. They charge me over $1200 for the air-condition, the day I pick it up (it don't work) they say I need a compressor, they want another $1500. Crazy I should of checked them out. No way I take my car back there. they wanted over $2000 for the front end, no way SO I FIND BILLY...REPAIRS DONE RIGHT, AWESOME I let him know my situation about the air-conditioning and the front end, I drop the car off the night before because I had a Maui trip the next day. I get a call in the early morning he say nothing wrong with my air con, it just did not have Freon, unbelievable, so he services it for like a couple dollars. Then he calls my back for price to fix front end, it was less then half the price of the other guys. He fixed the front end, the AC and even changed the oil all for an unbelievable price and my car was done that afternoon. I wasn't able to get my car looked at by my regular repair shop until the end of the week, so I called Repairs Done Right. Billy (owner) said to bring it over that same day. I had a clicking/clunking sound that I wanted to have checked out. They discovered it was engine mounts needing replacement and they incidentally found that I had a screw in one of my tires which they plugged. Billy explained everything to me and gave me a quote to have the work done for the engine mounts. He and his staff were very professional and friendly. They have a waiting room with TV which made time pass quickly as I waited for my car to be serviced. Once upon a time there was this blue car that had no A/C. It was so hot, all the passengers looked like they came from a sweaty gym. The owner did not want to get it fixed because the dealership quoted him a pretty hefty fee to fix it. Finally, the front passenger had enough and hunted down a great mechanic who knew his stuff. How did she know, because she remembered how he is also knowledgeable in aircraft mechanics (like fixing helicopters and stuff! Say what??! Ya!! amazing right!) Price: He always gives a reasonable price. When my boyfriend first brought his car to be fixed, the dealer quoted him $3000, Billy charged a fraction of that. What I really like is you can pay with credit card! That's always a plus for me since I rarely ever carry checks or cash. Service: just like the title. He does the repairs right the first time. He also finishes in good time. For longer repairs he will always give an estimate and how long it may take. We have been taking our cars to him for years and will continue to do so. Overall, if you are looking for a trustworthy mechanic, I highly suggest Repairs Done Right. He has serviced my car and my boyfriend's car for a couple of years. I was going to L's next door the next opening was going to be a week! So i checked out this place's reviews on Yelp and was willing to give them a chance. I WILL BE BACK! Bill was straight up and honest. I went in for A/C service, A/C Suddenly stopped blowing cold, it was not gradual, and the fan on high felt like most cars low speed. Bill charged a reasonable $80 to flush the A/C and diagnose, which was credited to any repair. Now he could have said it needed a new compressor or something else expensive, but he got it blowing ice cold again! He then suggested we change the blower motor and quoted a price HALF of what Lex Brodie's wanted! Bill you got a new customer! Also if you have spectrum cable, there is a hotspot here!! read more

Now I originally thought I was going to need a new alternator after the guys at autozone supposedly tested my battery, starter and alternator. Prior to finding this place I went to another repair shop for car repairs and was quoted a lot more and things I was told needed to be repaired or replaced wasn't even true. When I called I spoke with Ariel and explained the 1 main thing was my door, when I opened it, it would make this loud noise that I swear could wake up the dead. She quickly made a appointment for me to bring in my vehicle for an inspection and I was shown that some of the other things I was told from the other shop was false. But the door they quickly found the problem and also my brakes. Got the parts ordered and the following week I brought in my van for the repairs. I dropped my van in the morning and about 2-3 hours later it was fixed!! Talk about quick service and my van door no longer makes that noise!! LIVES UP TO ITS NAME!! No mechanic Bullshit!! Ive been having brake issues where the brake pedal would jam sometimes when I'm going slow and wouldn't stop the truck and that would leave the truck drifting a few meters forward. Very dangerous, especially at stop signs and intersections. I took it to Lex brodies and not only did they NOT fix my truck they misdiagnosed it and told me they couldn't fix it. I took it to Billy and right away he stepped on the brakes told me it was the brake booster, gave me an estimate, told me he would try his best to get it done same day (which he did) on top of his busy schedule. And now my lifted chevy has perfect brake performance. No issues, straight to the point, professional, no bullshit, very easy, reasonably priced, and I couldn't ask for a better first time experience at this shop. read more
