We got an estimate at another shop for almost $3k to change out the AC system. Ok, let's get a second opinion. Went in for our estimate this morning, and the only thing wrong with the AC was a valve that needed to be replaced. Total cost was $135 AND they gave us a 10% discount. Ok, this is a different type of review, but I really felt compelled to give a shout out to these guys. I've been having problems with my AC on my 2020 Civic. Not sure who I spoke to on the phone, but he was honest and up front about not being able to work on my car because it is a newer car. He explained to me that the models made after 2016 were made with a different type of AC system, and with a more expensive freon. I asked if he knew of a place (other than the dealer) that I can go to for this problem, and he said he doesn't know anyone because most, if not all repair places do not have updated programs to work on newer cars with this AC system. Now, had I known this before hand, I wouldn't have spent almost $500 at another shop (In Waipio) just to add coolant to my car!!! Insane!!! I was told from that other shop (in Waipio) that they injected dye but couldn't find the leak. So knowing there's a leak without actually finding the leak totally baffles me (insert confused emoji here)!!! Unfortunately for me, I don't know any trustworthy people who can work on cars, and being a woman, I really feel that some guys take advantage of that. So, kudos to 808Automotive for being honest guys not trying to rip me off! read more

All the warning lights on my honda dash pop up randomly sometimes. Dealership has no clue why it keeps happening but believe it has something to do with cylinders misfiring and it would cost an arm and a leg to fix. I searched and called around to get my fuel injectors cleaned and saw the five star reviews here. I'm so happy I went with 808 Automotive! Kawika was super helpful and explained everything that could be wrong if the lights came back on and so far they haven't. Other places were going to charge me $350+ AND a diagnostic (even though I have my own diagnostic code reader and knew it was coming from the cylinders) and they charged $160 for all four cylinders and did it in an hour. My A/C started blowing warm air instead of cold air so decided to get it checked out. Went to my normal mechanic in Mapunapuna to have it checked out and was quoted a pretty high price. Figured i asked around and see if that was about right. I was referred to 808automotive a few times by some family and friends but being that i live in Hawaii Kai thought that drive was always a burden. But after multiple let downs with other shops, i went ahead and contacted them. Called on a Friday, had my appointment booked on that following Monday at 8am. It been awhile since I haves reviewed 808 again and I have been back serval times. This review is about bringing car to get inspected for purchase. 808 did a good inspection including pictures. The following week I brought the car back for replacement of the AC condenser which 808 told me it needed to be replaced. I appointment was at 8 am and they started working on the car soon after. The job was done before the promised time. Here's the best part. Five star service with very fair prices and without looking I don't think many auto repair companies have a five star as it's the nature of the beast. I tried Yelps new automotive quote system and the price I was charged was far below the several quotes I received. I was recommended to come here from a couple of their clients. I called to make an appointment to have my brakes looked at ask they were squealing like pigs. At 86k miles, they were long overdue for a change! I spoke with Kawika and he told me to bring it in to have it looked at and they would let me know the damage, both to my brakes and what would be to my wallet. I brought my car over and dropped the keys off with Casi. He was very nice and told me he would have one of their guys take a look at it. Within 20 minutes of leaving the shop, they called me to tell me how bad my front brakes were in need of new rotors and pads (oops!). He said my back brakes were still good and had a year left on them. He told me the cost to take care of the brakes. It was a fraction of the cost of what other automotive places were quoting me by at least $100! One other place even tried to rip me off and say they can only change my brake pads for $700!!! Not including rotors!!! Unbelievable! Casi also told me that they had found a nail in my back tire and that they would take care of it for me as well and plug it! Anyway, Casi told me he could have my car done by a certain time in the afternoon. I work nearby so i wasn't stressing. I got a call a little more than an hour before I was expecting my car to be done with news that my brakes were good to go and my car was ready for pick up! Talk about great service! I already had to call in sick for the day. I automatically made an appointment with the dealership but for some odd reason something told me to look it up on yelp really quick and find an auto shop. I found this place and the guy who answered was awesome! Very pleasant and didn't seem like he was trying to rush me off the phone. He told me that they wouldn't be able to look at my car the next day because they were busy...literally busy ..the parking lot was full. He gave me quote and told me hell give me a call later. I already planned to be carless for a day until I got a call three hours before closing. He told me what was wrong and said it will be done before closing. I was stoked! He also gave me a little discount. I really like this place and I plan to bring my car here again. I recommend people to check it out. He was prompt in responding, gracious in listening to my particular request and willing to help me out. It was a project a bit outside the box of what he probably does on a daily basis, I needed very rare parts removed from a vehicle in a salvage yard in Provo for my truck. It was the only place literally in the U.S. that I could find these parts. He took on the project, it was a bit more challenging than either of us thought it would be, but he persevered and got it done for me. Bent over screwed from behind...It's the all too common feeling you get after getting your car repaired. Well, today, THAT feeling changed!!! Being the type to nip things in the butt right away, I went in to get my break pads changed when I started to hear my breaks squeaking. I'd say its been squeaking about a week. Just handing over the keys and explaining the problem, they educated me on the possible problems that were common to my 2002 Sequioa. They called me back within a couple of hours saying that they recommend waiting to change the brake pads to get the full worth of the repair. I mean, who says that?!!!! A car repair shop saying my brakes still good, don't waste your money??!! Tells me I can pick up my car anytime before closing. That was awesome, cause I was expecting an all day job so I was already at home in Ewa Beach and didn't want to rush back just to pick up my car. So in my husband's words, "These guys are sohonest, so fast, so accommodating...good people." Brought my Tahoe in for a diagnostics, and Casi was really friendly and took a look at my car right away. They weren't able to exactly determine the problem so he never charged me. I've been to a few shops already that have charged $90 or more just to preform a scan and come up empty...and still charge me! Casi recommended a shop that was able to better determine what was wrong with my Tahoe. It's very hard to find a honest car shop nowadays, 808 automotive will definitely have my business again.
