LIVES UP TO ITS NAME!! No mechanic Bullshit!! Ive been having brake issues where the brake pedal would jam sometimes when I'm going slow and wouldn't stop the truck and that would leave the truck drifting a few meters forward. Very dangerous, especially at stop signs and intersections. I took it to Lex brodies and not only did they NOT fix my truck they misdiagnosed it and told me they couldn't fix it. I took it to Billy and right away he stepped on the brakes told me it was the brake booster, gave me an estimate, told me he would try his best to get it done same day (which he did) on top of his busy schedule. And now my lifted chevy has perfect brake performance. Dropped my truck off on a Saturday & as told it'd be done Monday. Monday come's around, its like 430-5ish & no call. I cal and see if its going to be done, he says he came across an issue at the crank sensor & would be done Tuesday. After work Tuesday he calls and says its done and i can cone by to pick up! Go in and talk story lil bit and the problem was he dropped something and chipped a tooth on it causing it to not work properly & why it would run then die randomly. As the name says repairs done right. If you're similar to me you like to do your research before committing to a new place. Your car is your baby and you want to give it the absolute best treatment it can have. Now I requested quotes from several sources and not only is it the most reasonable but it's also the quickest and most efficient a/c recharge/diagnostic I could find. All the big dealerships charge twice and price, a ton of places aren't open on weekends, and almost every other place wanted you to leave your vehicle for an unknown amount of time. My job schedule is very tight and I don't have much time to get things fixed but thankfully Billy is open on Saturdays! And not only that he got the job done in about 2 hours. The total came out to 100.00 and not only is my a/c now blowing cold once again he found what could have been the issue. Now with new knowledge I can safely say that repairs done right is the way to go. Forget the big dealerships who overcharge you hardworking folk especially during this time of covid. Billy was friendly, knowledgeable, and quick. Don't be discouraged from the lack of reviews! Give this place a shot like I have! I found this shop after looking pretty intently as I'm not an islander and I didn't want to get ripped off. My Corolla needed rotors/pads in the rear and the CVT oil replaced (60,000 miles). Multiple shops wouldn't offer said service and or was insanely costly. Billy gave me a reasonable quote over Yelp and got me in quickly. Although it's a little more expensive than the mainland, it was very reasonable for Hawaii prices. Couldn't recommend enough! read more

My car was overheating for several months. Tried to fix the repairs myself, but it was bigger than what I thought. Long story short, my car ended up with a blown head gasket, and from there, it trickled to the small items that were affected by the overheating. Ariel, the office manager, was awesome and kept me up to date as the car went through the repair process. She was very patient when it came to picking the car up. Great customer service and an awesome price! I've been in need of an official car guy for some time now! This morning I went to Midas (my usual car place) and found out I needed my alternator completely replaced for the weird sound under hood. The estimate- $783.37!!! A friend recommended Bill and I called him up, drove over, and it took about 15 minutes for him to look at my car. His estimate- $350!!! SOLD! I was expecting to make an appointment and come back in a week but he said it'll take him an hour to get it done, he just needed the part. Even better news! I got to stay in his AC wait area complete with a clean bathroom and pretty much had the place to myself! It was perfect to get some things done since I had my laptop and Bill gave me the password for free wifi! It took 2 hours but I didn't mind at all!! Bill is fair and quick! He mentioned night and weekend hours which is perfect because I work in Waipahu so I can head over after work if I ever need it! I don't think today could have gone better! I don't usually write reviews. But I can't help but give Billy the full 5 stars that he deserves. I am an active duty military member that usually finds a mechanic that can be honest and straight forward without having to come out of pocket as much. I hit up Billy on yelp, trying to get a quote on how much to diagnose my AC unit for my truck. I left my contact information including email and it said the shop will be closing in 20 minutes. He hit me up after the shop closed. I asked him what his schedule is like for the next day since he was already closed. He told me meet him at his shop in 30 mikes. I was in disbelief at first, because like most shops that are closed at the time remain closed and don't answer the phones or check emails when it's closing time. Anyway, I met him at his shop within 30 minutes. He had my family and I wait in the waiting room with entertainment for the kids and of course cold AC. Nice little area to kill time. Within 45 minutes after his diagnostic. The job was done. He got me my cold AC that I haven't had in awhile. Paid ONLY $60 for a diagnostic and recharge on my AC system. Most shops around island charge $100-$145 and that's just running a diagnostic!!! I just want to thank Mr. Billy on his quick, honest, and above all kind customer service. Billy is THE MAN. I found him through a friend who used him to do some work on her car. She had a quote for thousands of dollars from another shop, but when she found Billy he quoted her under $1000 for the same work! This was over a year ago, and she's had no problems since. So I decided to give him a call when my dad needed his timing belt changed on his 2007 Toyota Tundra. The price was less than the dealer wanted, and Billy was able to knock it out in one day! He even kept all the old parts so that we could see what was replaced. A+++ Then I needed work on my 2001 Chevy Express work van. Everything he's done has been top notch without any hitches so far. He's had my van more times than I've wanted him to, but he's been able to keep her on the road and myself working and making money with little down time or me having to go out and finance a brand new van. This guy works long hours all night long to get your car done. Then recently I unfortunately wrecked my 2004 Dodge Ram pickup. Billy took it in the very next day, made a ton of calls to find the rear end and rim that I needed, and even let it sit at his shop (taking up space) for 4-5 weeks while we waited on the delivery of my parts from the mainland. He and his friends next door even helped the tow guy drop it off where he needed it. What a team they make! He's smart, has a sense of humor (and ladies you don't have to worry about some creepy mechanic that'll try to rip you off or worse), knows what he's doing, and works hard and long (all night and weekend kind of long!) to get you your car back as promptly as possible. Billy is the best! I came in after getting a diagnostic on my car's AC system from another shop, that shop charged me $70 and gave me a quote to fix it for $2700. I was like I think this shop is trying to take me for a ride. They quoted me to pretty much replace my entire AC system. They said the current one is shot. I stopped by Repairs Done Right showed Billy the diagnostic from the other shop, he asked if he could take a look at it but said he couldn't make any guarantee that the other shop was wrong. I took it to Billy the following day, he fixed the AC in no time. He only replaced one part and charged and refilled the system. Save me over $1600. MY NEW GO TO SHOP! Highly recommend! read more

If you own a Chevy, I don't recommend going to RDR. I took in my 2014 Chevy Cruze (only 60K miles. I know it's a cheaper car BUT it didnt warrant the bs I endured here) at the end of July because the engine complete shit out. The idle problem killed the engine and we managed to get it into RDR. I will say Billy returned our phone call quickly and was able to get us in asap which led us to believe he cared as a business owner and we felt good about his service but boy were we wrong. We explained when it idles bad, what was going on, how the check engine light came on for a whole 1 day before turning off and that slow to fast/fast to slow, stopping, and adding fuel to my car was causing the most issues. I was able to get my car later that day which was awesome but him changing the valve cover ($350 later) would fix the problem. Fast forward 2 weeks and my car is running WORSE & surprise the engine light came back on. I called them again because now I'm stressing out and they said their labor & parts were covered for a year. April was very sweet (receptionist) and was like oh that's not good let's get you in asap. This is where us gets even worse. The code happened to be the same one that was previously "fixed" I had to call at 5 pm to get a status just to be told oh you had super glue on your ignition coils but everything is fixed now we just want to drive it tomorrow and then you can pick it up. This all sent a ton of red flags in my head (my father is a mechanic on the mainland and would never do that -- he happened to replace that exact part last summer) so I started doing my own research. To replace the valve cover you need to temove the ignition coils first & then put them back in so 2 weeks later my ignition coils magically needing to be replaced was a shock. The next morning I again had to call for a status only to find out it was going to cost me another $680 to fix a hose, spark plugs, ignition coils and some other bs oh and that he already made the repairs and I could come get my vehicle. Last I checked, mechanics are BY LAW required to call with a quote on labor BEFORE they can make any repairs. When I confronted him about it that next morning I got the response of "well I had to replace it, it deteriorated (never saw any proof) I had no choice" and "well your car is a cheap car that's what you get for owning a chevy" I call BS you always have a choice. At this point I have no choice. He took that away from me. So, over a grand later in a span of 3 weeks (Uber, rental & repairs) my car is now running EVEN WORSE, the light comes BACK ON, I found a different mechanic who did a full inspection, provided me a report, understood my frustration, FIXED THE ISSUE for under $300. BTW billy-it was the purge valve that was stuck open and the fumes were flooding my engine. Also, finding out he's a VETERAN. Even worse as I'm currently AD. What a rip off. read more

Billy has resuscitated my car (04 Mazda3) on so many occasions and I am forever grateful: 3 fuel pumps over 2 years (my car seems to an exception to the norm- it loved burning through fuel pumps just to make me poor lol), a new starter, O2 sensors, and just recently, replaced a leaky lower radiator hose). I had messaged the owner, Billy, on Friday night around 8pm I think, after I had contemplated whether or not my car was worth getting fixed. It has a lot of sentimental value to me but in the past year, I've dumped $5K+ into it (now close to $7K). It's a 2000 Mustang GT, with 135K+miles, that I bought for myself when I graduated college - first car I bought new and paid off and the last of my cars that my grandfather drove. Billy messaged me back probably in less than 5 minutes. I told him exactly what I was told (by Oscar's in Kalihi - I don't trust the owner over there, just Brian) needed to be fixed, calipers, rotors, and brake pads all needed to be replaced... He told me he could look at it on Saturday and tell me exactly what needed to be fixed. He estimated $1200, parts and labor. The place is located in Waipahu, in the industrial area, and it's kinda hidden. There are other shops there so parking is very limited. When we arrived (I didn't make an appt or anything), he was busy but stopped, told me what he had in line of me, and that he could look at it in about 30-45 mins, maybe an hour. I told him we'd go eat. He called, told me that I did need everything replaced and again that it would be around $1200, which the other place quoted me around $1800. I told him to go ahead and asked if he would have it ready by Monday or Tuesday. He said he would have it done in about 4 hours. Oddly enough, when we were trying to kill time while my car was being fixed, my BF's alternator went out. I'm pushing his car in the middle of an intersection so he can pop the clutch. Some guy helped me (thank you to whoever you were) and it started. Luckily, we got it back over to Billy. He said he'd look at it when he could. He then showed me why everything needed to be replaced on my car which most honest people do... We walked over to Don Quixote and killed some time. Needless to say, we returned, BOTH cars were fixed, Billy let us know not to buy alternators or other parts from O'Reilly's, and since I told him to change my oil too, it was a little over $1300 with tax and everything. Great customer service. Great turn around time. It's hard to find good mechanics and believe me, until Billy screws me over, I'll be going to his shop. All of his mechanics are ASE certified and look and act very professional. They're working and not standing around like some of the other workers at the nearby shops. Thanks Billy for everything... I am only speaking from my experience... Customer service was not the best. I was looking to get my car jumped because the battery died and I wanted to get a few things repaired. Friends told me about this place and said, they would make sure your car is fixed properly. I called someone named Billy picked up the phone I first asked if they did battery jumpstarts the guy said no I went to ask more additional questions on their services because I really wanted to make an appointment to get few things on my vehicle fixed. Before I could even asked any additional questions the person on the other end of the phone said "OK bye and hung up the phone." It's fine if you don't do vehicle jumpstarts but it just was not the only thing I was calling about. Being hanged up on was extremely rude. read more

I was referred to Billy by a mobile AC mechanic who had to pass on replacing the evaporator in my 2008 Jeep Liberty. Through Yelp I requested quotes from 3 different repair shops, including Repairs Done Right. Two of the three responded: one needed more information (not familiar with the repair job being requested) the other was Billy, who had recently completed the same repair on other Jeeps. He gave me a quote; I scheduled a drop off; and I had my Jeep back with AC a few days later. Because the AC repair was affordable, I asked him to look into my accelerator, which was getting sticky. He let me know what was needed and the time that it would take. Again, being within my budget, I brought my Jeep when the part came in, and he replaced it while I waited, which was under a half hour! Lastly, I had Billy look at a 1989 Ford Ranger that I bought for my daughter. I asked for an estimate to get the AC compressor replaced and to just check it out. He gave his professional assessment that no engine work was needed immediately, and to be ready to replace the clutch and master cylinder at a later date since the master cylinder had a small leak not worth fixing right now. We're so glad we found Billy! On November 4, 2020 we purchased a 2004 F150 from a seller on Facebook Marketplace only to find out the car had issues after driving it home in Palisades. We decided to look for a mechanic that would take a look at it and let us know what needed to be fixed. After looking on Yelp for a good, reliable mechanic I found Repairs Done Right in Waipahu. I called to set up an appointment. Billy answered and said to bring in the truck after 9am the next day. We get there and we're greeted by Billy (nice humble guy) he tells us to leave the truck with him and he will call us later to let us know what needsnto be done. Billy calls us within a few hours and tells us we have multiple issues. I turn to my husband because he was the one who test drove the truck...anyways long story short Billy fixed the problem within a week and a half. We had to only pay for the parts, he didnt even us for the labor on the transmission! How honest is this?! However, when we got our truck back there was a few more issues that needed attention. So my husband went back to see Billy (the next day after getting our truck back) Billy told my husband it was our spark plugs and alternator that needed to be fixed. Billy said to leave the truck with him and he would take care of it. Within a few hours Billy calls to say our truck was done. My husband picks up the truck and asks how much for the repair Billy tells him no charge for the repair! My husband insists to pay but Billy tells him Happy Thanksgiving.
