Purchased a sofa and paid $75 for delivery only to find out that they couldn't deliver it until today (several days later) at 9am (I could've picked it up had I known for $20 less). It was due an hour ago and I'm still sitting here waiting. Going to just dispute this with PayPal but I don't appreciate the no call no show like I have time to sit around dealing with this crap. The movers never called but the owner finally answered and gave me an ETA, two hours later. The movers didn't wrap the cushions so the corner of one is dirty (it's a light colored sofa) in the spot where I literally watched them drag it on the ground. I added a star because it's a cute funky sofa that matches my 60s style living room and is actually comfortable, unlike the other I had for a good price. I would not recommend you pay $75 for delivery with this place. They aren't professional. read more

Found this gem on Facebook marketplace and although I didn't find the original end tables I was looking at on Facebook marketplace, I found the cutest pair of mid-century end tables. This place is amazing! It's best if you set up an appointment to visit the warehouse first during covid protocols. Everything in the warehouse has a barcode tag on it and you use a tablet to find info on items and put items in your cart for purchase. It was such a blast walking around the warehouse looking at all the awesome furniture, lamps, fans, etc... Their pricing system is cool too, every week the price goes down on an item, so if it's been there awhile, you'll get a REALLY good price on an item. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for some cool, funky furniture for a great price! read more

And after reading the other reviews...I see the owners getting quite the haul...forget their customers...the only ones I see benefiting from this operation are Andrew and Luis (the owners/managers). They have proven themselves to be dishonest and Opportunists! I still haven't been issued a credit for my $200 prepaid painting, it was suppose to happen the day I went to their warehouse in South San Francisco, they led me to believe the painting was available for pickup. Let's see...how many days ago was that transaction (June 19, 2018)...It is July now and STILL NO REFUND/CREDIT for an item unavailable for pickup? You said that your team takes pride in your honesty and integrity. What a CROCK!!! Thank GOD that I used my MasterCard. They said that the painting had ended its consignment period, long ago? Luis and Andrew should have known! Because they both were there when that occurred! Why pretend that they were completely unaware? That painting was a very distinctive painting by Suzanne Etienne called "The Blue Vase", I am sure that they would have remembered it! They are tech savvy, but they don't quite have a handle on their inventory, even though they use barcodes, software, and devices??? UNLIKELY! I suspect something else is afoot. They are playing their business model and those poor REMOOV customers who actually think they have an ally in the disposal of their belongings! People...sell your items yourselves! You'll be doing yourselves a favor AND keeping 100% of the proceeds! There are so many ways you can do this online nowadays. Or even better, DONATE to charity and get yourselves a tax deduction while helping those in need. Online Buyers BEWARE!!! You'll be lucky if the product you purchase is even there. They have a huge selection and because it is all second hand buying something from here instead of new is doing your part for the environment and waste. Trying to purchase a pair of side tables: Attempt 1: Put in an offer, offer was accepted immediately. No communication, and then they emailed me saying they issued me a refund, but no refund to my credit card. Attempt 2: Put in an offer, again accepted immediately. I provided my shipping address. They quoted me $350 for "white glove" delivery service, even though UPS Ground and FedEx Home were showing less than $100. They told me I can use my own shipper. No more communication or refund. Attempt 3: Purchased directly from website and selected shipping option via UPS Ground on 7/28. No communication or shipping update. I got an email saying my order was fulfilled on 8/6. No response to my email asking where my order is. For some reason the tables are still on the website. Attempt 4: Purchased directly from website again, selected shipping option via UPS Ground on 8/6. So at this point, they have my money 4x for the same order, no communication, no responses to my emails, no shipping update. A few weeks later: One of my orders got fulfilled, as the tables show up. No refund for the other 3 orders. A month later: After repeated emails, and threats to escalate to my CC company, I finally get refunded for 3 orders. I'm all for supporting small business but not when the business is crooked. I'd recommend only patronizing if you are local -- they say they ship nationwide but it was a huge pain in the ass. read more

TLDR: I really wanted to like this place and tried to give them multiple chances for my sale while looking for a futon, but I consistently encountered very poor customer experiences that eventually resulted in them losing my business. They seem like they have a good selection of items and an interesting business model, but with such a poor customer experience they simply lost the opportunity for my sale. I would look elsewhere if you are in the market for a sofa, unless they dramatically improve their customer communication. I do hope a manager reads this and does something to address these issues, as everything below is easily avoidable - but in this case it lost them an easy sale. Read on if you want to see my experience: 1) On a Wednesday I make an online reservation for that Saturday afternoon to come look at futons in their warehouse. I receive a confirmation email right away, and all seems set to go. I proceed to plan my Saturday afternoon entirely around this trip to their warehouse and am intent on likely making a purchase. TWO FULL DAYS after making the appointment, on Friday, the DAY BEFORE my appointment, and after planning my whole Saturday afternoon around this visit, I receive an email stating that sofas are not able to be viewed on the weekends and to please reschedule for a time M-F. **Why was this not told to me when I first made the appointment, rather than waiting two whole days and after I made plans around coming out? 2) I decide to give them another chance, and change my appointment to Monday. While making the booking I enter the item ID's of the futons I want to look at, as it requests. On Monday morning, the day of my visit, I receive another confirmation email, asking for the item ID's of the sofas I want to look at, even though I have already done this during my booking. I have to go through and find the item ID's once again. 3) I drive all the way out to their warehouse for my appointment, and when I arrive the woman at the front desk says "Oh you must be Derek, here to see sofas, right?". She proceeds to tell me that sofas are housed in a different warehouse and unfortunately, for some reason, are not able to be seen today and that the earliest I can go see them is probably Thursday or Friday. Factoring in everything else that has already happened up to this point, I am pretty upset to say the least. Here I drove all the way out to South San Francisco, only to be told I can't do what I had made an appointment to do. Not only was I not told this before I drove all the way out there, but I even received a confirmation email that morning asking for the item ID's of the sofas I wanted to see. Absolutely terrible. 4) I ask how I will know when I can come look at the sofas, and she says she will take down my number and call me as soon as they are ready for me to visit - "probably by Thursday or Friday". Thursday and Friday come along, and sure enough, I receive no phone call. In fact, I now write this one week later, and I still have not heard anything at all. My business was lost the moment I drove all the way out there and was told I couldn't see the sofas, but still, I was curious to see if they would at least actually follow up and call me. Unfortunately, they did not. So all in all, my customer experience with the Local Flea was just very poor all around, and while I continued to give them a chance despite the bad experiences encountered early on, at a certain point they just flat out lost my business. Moving forward I'll be looking elsewhere for used items. read more

This place is such a gem! I am really into upcycling and all that, and we were able to find a very affordable nice midcentury-ish chair here for 1/5th the cost of the new item. The staff here are helpful without being overly attentive/questioning like at some stores. One of their staff helped us load the chair into our car, which took a little manuevering to get into our hatchback! I really love their system of having the little ipad-like devices to look up prices and that they also have a website. The warehouse is a treasure trove and honestly I could come here every week and never get bored haha. This place is a hidden gem!!! I came here to look at a dining table that I saw on their website, and I came out of it with a beautiful dining table, six dining chairs, an end table, a floor lamp, and a coffee table. All furniture were in excellent condition and the colors worked really well together. The total price for all of this was only about $550, including delivery to my apartment unit! The furniture there is really nice and in excellent condition. I almost purchased a second dining table just because I was so conflicted in which to buy because they both had beautiful wood. The staff is also super, super nice. Luis and Miguel (I think that were their names) helped me find the dining table I ended up purchasing and were super patient with me while I browsed around the warehouse more (accidentally until closing). The delivery crew was also really nice and brought everything into my living room quickly and carefully. I recommend this place to anyone looking for furniture! They also have other items in the warehouse (like bikes) that you might find useful. read more

Disappointed. Found a wardrobe armoire online and came to look at it. Furniture was stacked on top of each other and rammed together too close. So close that the piece was damaged when they pulled it out for me to look at it. I had to point out the damage to the worker and said I was no longer interested. The worker seemed unfazed and just put it back. We walked around the warehouse and looked at other items. I wasn't impressed with the care of the items. There were many treasures to be found but would be hesitant to purchase now knowing what I know. I went thinking it was a store but I guess the expectation here is to really find online, purchase without seeing a piece and either arranging delivery or picking up. Still looking for an armoire. I am addicted to Local Flea. I have bought many stuff from the store to furnish my home - only Online - and my experience has been great. Their furniture and other items are priced very reasonably and the quality and brand are great too! I was lucky enough to find a matching Crate and Barrel dresser and nightstand that were practically new at a portion of the original price. So happy. I bought many other items that got great reviews from my discriminating sisters (LOL!) at very good prices. The customer service is wonderful - very prompt and always courteous. Since they only ship locally I drove a truck I rented with my brother to help bring I­­t back. I­­t took us 1.5 hours to get there once we do the guy working there can't seem to find my couch or any information on I­­t. I love these folks!! They have great quality items and awesome service. I have bought a couple things from them in the past and had no issue. Most recently I bought a TV from them and had it delivered. Well the TV unfortunately turned out to have a problem with the image, but the folks at The Local Flea were quick to respond and I was able to exchange it for one that was actually nicer and bigger (and worked fine) at no extra charge to myself. I was looking for a large format printer and stumbled across one they had on FB marketplace. I then learned about their actual website and the price was even lower. I drove down in the rain to a dark warehouse because I really wanted this printer. They weren't sure exactly where it was, but were very nice and we walked around until we found it. I was able to do a cursory test to make sure it worked and was satisfied. Their guys helped load it into my truck, and I got it all covered up ready for the 50 mile drive home. Wiped off all the dust and got the printer in its permanent spot in my home. Thanks for saving me $$! read more

I just discovered The Local Flea and I'm so glad I did! I went there to find a dining room table, and I ended up with a few more things as well. The warehouse is enormous and there are new things coming in every day. I've been back twice now and I'm enjoying the shopping experience very much. So far I purchased three quite large furniture items and had to return one of them because it didn't work with the decor of my house. The return process was super easy and I received a full refund since it was within the first week. Everyone who helped me onsite as well as online from The Local Flea has been extremely nice.
