The service department is pathetic. The whole dealership is very unprofessional. No one greets you. No one seems to want to be at work. The service department rep Edgar was a sour puss. He did not seem to know what he was doing and was rude! With all the dealers in Houston, in an industry that's struggling, this place is on their way out! My experience buying a new vehicle has been nothing but amazing! I've heard a lot of horrible things but people I've dealt with in the actual dealership have been nothing but awesome! I am a person who is very slow at deciding and when it comes to deciding with one too many options, I just can't decide, AT. ALL. So I walk in and I hit up the hottest guy in there and made him tag along for a month and a half! Finally to his and my surprise, I actually bought a brand new iron 883. So if you are looking for a motorcycle but need someone who is patient and will ride n number of bikes and would look at you and say, "you need to get one that you are comfortable with" then Aaron Muller is your guy. So when you get here ask for Aaron and wait for him patiently cuz even when on the toad he'd make it a point to be protective of you and still enjoy your ride. After Aaron, David and Holly took amazing care of me! Holly would also give you tips on how to get your credit score up with the financing they offer (so leave your biker chick / dude persona at home and listen with humility if you wanna save money and take care of good credit!) Yes there are some customer you'd come across that scare the bijesus out of you but these three people would make you feel like you are family. Your extending republic family can be found in the first floor with Michael, Cindy and Tay who would take care of all your accessories! Finally not to forget Brad, who would help you in all ways to make sure the motorcycle is delivered to you when you want it. Brad is also this cuddly, calm daddy type that'd make you feel secure! Overall, Republic took my bad experience with the riding school and made it into one of the most positive ones ever! Would not recommend purchasing a used bike from here. The number of issues the bike that was sold to us had in our year and two months of owning it is beyond frustrating. Right after purchase there's a broken blinker. Dead battery a month or so after purchase. Then we were told at purchase that it was normal for the bike to not start in first gear. Fast forward a year later, we had the pleasure of paying a few hundred to fix...guess what? the bike was supposed to be able to start in first. I'm sure the sales guy knew this was not normal but wanted his sale. Very stereotypical "sales" people here. Just want the sale. We know people who shop at Mancuso Harley and they have excellent customer service. Free towing. Good on their sales etc. read more

k..... so..... on a monumental cross country motorcycle ride from Oakland CA to Key West FL with my fathers ashes and a stop planned to visit my mother on the way back when a young inattentive woman runs a red light. My mom passes two days later. Philippe and his service staff hot foot a very extensive damage estimate so I can make a determination of go home or not. The sales staff was very helpful in getting me close to riding home but ultimately could not come up with a solution for a shattered shoulder and collarbone. my appreciation for a huge effort by the staff to get me taken care of during a very difficult time. If I could give no stars I would the guy took my bike in and for 2 days could not get to it all they did was hit the starter and hear it not start and said it was a frozen motor it was locked up. These mother fuckers literally did nothing and charged me 150 for it. I took it upon my self to take the motor apart and repair it myself since their quote of 1800 to just take it apart something I did in 3 hrs they wanted 1800 I'm sure plus tax for and then plus parts and additional labor to put it back together. These crooks--what was wrong with my bike was the piston had a hole in it and the valve broke off- so how they even got the determination that it was "locked" is beyond me. Seeing as the pistons were free to moved up and down they were far from locked. More free if anything. Edgar said he put an scope in to see. Clearly lied if he did would've seen the lack of a value by the exhaust or even the metal in the air filter. it's not so much that they lied but more so they gave me a value of my bike at 500 dollars since it wouldn't start knowing they can fix it for less that I can and I only spent 330 in a new rear rocker box and new rear position and intake push rod. That's it. I'm sure they could've done it for at least 1/4 of what I did even so they were also very pushy with the purchase of a new bike when I was adamant about not buying one- these people just straight up want to rob you and they will lie and lie to do it I'll be disputing my fee from these people. Watched their web site for a good deal. Thought I found one on a recent trade in. I went in and was immediately hit up by a salesperson. I told him the bike number showed him the publication on the web site. and said I would buy the bike if it was the price they advertised. they found the bike it was upstairs I looked at and he started it. I again said I would buy it at the price advertised. We did some paperwork I told him I was paying cash. the sales manager came over and introduced himself. I also informed him and showed him the picture of the bike on their web site. when he came back with the paperwork the bike was 10,000 more than the Advertised price. I showed him again the web site and he then tells me it was a typo. And then said that they would do the advertised price as a down payment. his is clearly false advertising and a very shitty way of doing business. I have continued to watch there site. What an aweful experience with the motorcycle riding class, facilitated by Republic. I learned one thing, read reviews..read reviews..read reviews and ask a lot of questions. My experience was just horrible. Being an adult and talked to in the manner that Tonya spoke to me was unacceptable. I only tolerated it because of my desire to learn how to ride and to do so safely. Some people are not meant to teach at all. One characteristic an instructor, should have is patience. This person had "0". I'm not sure if she was having a bad day, but she didn't need to bring it to the course. I didn't have fun and I wasn't relaxed. I felt stressed and bullied. On top of that I was sent away. I almost gave up my dream, that's how bad I felt after that experince. Notice, the operative word, almost. I called around and ask questions of other training centers. Remarkably, when I explained my experience... They knew by name who and what dealership I was referring to... I didn't have to say a word. I found one Center and they welcomed me and apologized for the experience and said it shouldn't be that way. I took the course again with this Team, with the same carriculum and received my endorsement. What a difference. What a difference. I lost $ .... And then was told to come back, for what?? My husband is trying to sell his 2007 Dyna Super Glide, he called the Republic location this morning and spoke to 2 seperate individuals regarding his needs. He made it known upfront that as of right now he has no interest in purchasing a new bike as he currently owns a 2019 Street Glide S. Both these men told him to bing the bike in for evaluation. We trailered the bike from Sweeny to Republic only to be told on arrival that they DO NOT purchase bikes of that age, but they would be happy to take the 2007 and the 2019 as trade ins dor a 2022. I feel this is a deceptive business practice, he told them prior to our driving all the way from Sweeny to Republic that he had no intention or desire to purchase a new motorcycle. They have been texting and calling him nonstop trying to convince him to purchase. We purchased his 2017 Lowrider S from Republic prior to trading it in on the 2019 Street Glide S, however we will no longer do business of any kind with this location and will never recommend them to any of our friends who own and ride Harleys. If I could have given them NO STARS I certainly would have. They are SHADY AF!! read more

After a 23 year hiatus from riding, I decided to jump back on the bike. Republic was the 3rd dealer I visited over the course of a few weeks. If you're looking for an excellent experience with a knowledgeable group of folks who will take care of you before...and after the sale... - do yourself a favor, go check out Republic HD. The team (Shaylor, Holly, Brad. Chris) and the GM Phil are great! In reference to the Motorcycle Safety Course - It's a no-nonsense course that is focused on providing you with a MINIMAL set of skills to ride safely. The instructors (Tater & Tonya) are both hilarious and DEAD SERIOUS at the same time. Driving a motorcycle in Texas is not a joke - it's not a walk in the park - and the training should be treated as such. I was corrected several times by both instructors throughout the course - for flaws in my handling (head down - not looking far enough ahead - covering the front break - not turning my head far enough....) each time it was done in a serious - but professional manner. Beware novice motorcycle riders. Do not sign up for the motorcycle safety foundation training course through this location. If you want to be treated like an idiot then go ahead. I was very upset with the way the male instructor (I'm a female) treated me during the hands on motorcycle training portion of the class, so much so that I left after the 4th exercise. He chooses to humiliate you instead of taking out time to show you the correct way. If you don't have an advanced understanding of how a motorcycle operates then your best bet is to go somewhere else. Huge waste of money and time. I am extremely disappointed, because I came to learn and left with nothing. All they care about is taking your money. read more

This dealership has a beautiful layout and always has great bikes. With that being said, it suffers from one major problem, and that is the high pressure sales techniques and programs. It reminds me of walking into a car dealership in the 80's and 90's, where you can't even look around without being harassed. If you say, hey I'm just looking around, you are still followed around with cheesy sales lines given at every bike you look at. God forbid you ask a price, because you will be called emailed and sent texts for weeks. As someone who works in the sales/relationship business, this model doesn't work and it died off years ago in the car business. It's time for this dealership to evolve. I can't imagine stepping back in, as there are a number of dealerships around Houston that have better relationship models, and you don't have to feel intimidated just to stop in and look around... Just left the store and was turned down on a bike that was offered to me by the sales team due to it being reserved for individuals who completed there motorcycle course. Truly was a disappointment seeing how I just walked in just to casually look around and see what they had in stock. I was approached by one of their sales team members which was fine but I kindly informed him that I was just looking around and didn't need help but like all great salesman he stuck around and asked me what I was looking for. I informed him of the street rod I was looking for and he informed me that he had it!! I inquired about that price and was very excited about that price. I wasn't told that there were special requirements to being able to purchase the bike until I informed them that I would be paying cash and didn't want to fill out the credit application.. It's very disappointing that no one seemed to care to right the mistake that was made on their end.. Took the beginners rider course a couple of weeks ago as it is now a requirement to get the M endorsement on your license. I considered myself an experienced rider being that I have been riding dirt bikes since a kid and owned a couple of sport bikes before. Stepping up to a larger touring model I also wanted to learn the proper way to handle a much heavier bike. First let me say the instructors Jonathan and Travis were amazing to work with, very patient, and very knowledgeable. They took the time to answer any and every question asked, demonstrated the correct technique needed, and worked with any individual one on one when needed. There was so much I thought I knew until I attended this course. I plan to attend the advanced course soon. read more

I went by the store with the Intention of buying a motorcycle they have for sale on their site, i was greeted really quick. By one of their salesman, he was nice and helpful, I told him I wanted to see the bike from the website, he told me it was no longer there that it had been sold....I get it. So we decided to walk the store (he had to tag along) weird. They have more staff than clients, being in business I would considere this a bad practice but oh well maybe that's why the prices in these bikes are so hiked. Literally more than 25 people on duty for 5 customers and it was afternoon time. They should at least invest the time to update their website once a bike is sold.....I mean it's not like they are short handed right. I don't think I would buy from this store as I believe I would end up paying for staffing fees ....probably why so many people on the comments mention surprise fees. Just moved here and looking for a dealership to service my HD. I picked the wrong one. It started with the call after I dropped the bike off alleging that more items needed repair or replacement (funny how the rear tire didn't need replacing while I was there). $800 later I thought I had found a place that could fix my bike and perform maintenance on it. I was wrong. I clearly asked them to clean the air cleaner, as it is replaceable, however I get home and find it full of oil just like I dropped it off. Then I find they failed to zip tie the cables going to the front brakes back together again. Basic stuff a first year mechanic would know to do. Sign on the door said open Mon - Sat, 9 am to 7 pm. Turns out they are closed on Mondays. I just bought a '18 Fat Bob 114 the other day. Of course I went and seen my favorite sales lady Brittany Loftin. We decided to work 2 different deals at the same time after which I would decide which deal I wanted to take. I was split between the Fat Bob and a Low Rider. After they brought the deals back to me I was still up in the air at which way I wanted to go. In the end the Fat Bob won out. Now I wont say what the price I paid was because it was such a great deal and after calling around to see if anyone else could beat it 4 dealership in 2 different states said no way and inferred I was lying. If you want to get a good deal do your homework on what you want. Know everything about it and try to have prices before going in to a dealer. It does help the process when you know what you want. DO NOT GO HERE I dropped off my bike two plus weeks ago to get it serviced. I knew it needed to set of riser bushings, a stater and a bunch of OEM boats and nuts and a primary transmission shifter plate and a oil change. I dropped it off june16 and just got it back july2 I left the dealership and once leaving I pulled over to inspected it. once pulled over the bike immediately died, after realizing they missed a bunch of little things I took off to my warehouse 10 miles away got to the first red light on Airport Road and the bike died again. I finished my ride a couple miles later at my warehouse before I could kill the bike it died once again. I got off the bike to inspect it furthermore realizing now that it is leaking oil from the derby cover, throughout the two weeks I was completely mislead on what the status of my bike was was never told a total.when I finally was told a total when I showed up to pay it was about $100 more. I will say they did offer too send a truck too pick up the bike too try and resolve the issues they missed but I am not prepared to wait another two weeks for them to fix their issues for 2200$ I am not Impressed at all with this dealership or Harley. read more

This morning 7/15/2017 I took my 2009 HD Ultra Classic to Republic Harley Davidson in Stanford, TX to have the fluids changed, replace brake pads, check tire and rear shock pressures, and see if the clutch needed to be adjusted. When I arrived the service writer explained there were 2 recalls, the brake pressure switch and the tank supports. I explained I did not want to do the tank supports because I had already replaced the supports myself, but please service the brake pressure switch... after approximately 2 hours the service writer stated I should speak with the technician there was a issue... The tech stated that my break light weren't working it you press the rear brake pedal or front break lever either. I explained the break lights where working when I brought it in and I had just had the Motorcycle inspected not but 2 weeks prior and they were working then and after the inspection the motorcycle set in my garage, I also tried to explain to him the brake lights looked as if they were illuminated very bright and he said no the blinker work that's not the problem. The service tech explained he replaced the rear brake pressure switch only and not the front lever switch, he did take about 5 minutes and try to to trouble shoot only the rear pressure switch and the break light module and told me I'm sorry but you must have a wire grounding out some where under the rear fender or some were on the rear end of your motorcycle and kind of shrugged his shoulders there nothing I can do for you...So I took my motorcycle home and begin to trouble shoot the problem myself after tearing apart the rear end of the motorcycle and inspecting each and every wire from the brake lights to the tank as he suggested was the problem, what I final found was the problem after 3 1/2 hours in the heat I'm my garage the tech changed out the break fluid in the front break master cylinder and did not get the lever and mount aligned with the thumb control housing so it would depress and release the front break pressure switch button wasn't depressed so the brake light would not stay illuminated and the front brake line was dripping break fluid at the banjo bolt attaching the break line to the front brake master cylinder. After taking 3 1/2 hours tearing the rear end of the motorcycle apart, it took 10 minutes to adjust the brake and thumb control properly and the front brake pressure switch was depressed and the brake lights began to work again.. The sad part is I took the motorcycle in to be service by professional and to save myself time being I work a lot and don't have much free time. I also missed a riders benefit being my motorcycle wasn't safe to ride. I normally take my motorcycle to Republic to have services being there about 15 minutes from my home, I will never go there again and I will post my experience all over Facebook and I will be calling the owner or GM regarding this incident.... Thanks for absolutely nothing Republic!!!! You'll never see my money again... read more

I took the motorcycle training corse in 2014 at a non Harley dealership training. I passed and received my licenses Well, I didn't continue to ride after the two days of training and I let 5 years go by and never rode again. So in 2018 I said to myself, this is the year I will take the training corse again, ( because at that point, I had only had 2 days experience, and I wanted to feel confident with my riding skills, and I felt going through the training was needed in my opinion ( better safe than sorry right?) I signed up with Harley Davidson-Republic for the corse (however, my mother passed away), and I missed the corse scheduling date. Well I was determined so I signed up with Harley Davidson-Republic again in 2019. The Trainer Jerry and Tonya were THE WORST! They yelled, and screamed, they used intimidating and threatening tactics in which I felt put people in a very nervous, uncomfortable, upsetting mood. These are first time riders, African American riders. It's dangerous for long term riders to ride upset, but to have a new rider upset, plus trying to learn, and get accustom to the bike and learn all the rules to the ride can be difficult. Tonya yelled and threatened to send the African Americans home for anything they felt they did wrong. Her attitude was unprofessional. Yet when the other races, especially the Caucasian's did something wrong they would speak in a more private setting. Jerry would say, ask me anything, well, you ask him just to get clarity, and he gives you the hardest time and everyone's looking like we all want to know just for clarity!!! It almost feel as if they purposely fail African Americans. There was a young lady ( non African American) she dropped her bike 3 times! No yelling, no screaming, or anything. The Caucasian female drove slow the entire time! Everyone witnessed it, nothing was said. Absolutely Nothing! That's not being Fair!!! It's discriminatory! I would never ever recommend ANYONE to be trained by these two individuals. I hope they get undercover investigated. As an EEOC specialist, I professionally saw the discriminatory behavior. That was the worst training experience ever and EVERYONE IN THE CLASS FELT THE SAME! Some even left the class and just gave up during the training. read more

My husband bought a brand new Harley Sportster 883 here on a Saturday in January. We actually came in to look at a used bike but fell in love with this one. Our sales person Mike, was top notch. We got a great deal on the new and it just made more sense. After agreeing on price and doing the whole ''tour the parts dept, tour the clothing'' we sat down to wait our turn for finance dept. Even though we waited over an hour to get into the finance department to pay for the bike, we were both excited and didn't complain. We made a down payment knowing full well we'd pay the bike off the following week; it was an issue of funding on a Saturday after bank hours. Everything went okay and the process was quick. We were told they would call and mail us the plates as soon as they came in and that because we paid the bike off within the first 30 days, we would receive the mandatory GAP insurance back, $899 in this case. Buying the bike was a breeze but everything since then, has been a huge headache. Once they have your money, they no longer care apparently. After a month we stopped by to see if the plates were in, they were not. Was told they would call us. They also informed us on this date, that we had to file out a form and provide proof that the bike was paid off to receive that GAP reimbursement. Okay so we emailed the form the first week of March. Around day 45 we called again because we had not heard anything about the plates. Good news, they had them and could mail them since we live about an hour away, which was great. Gave it a week and nothing. Called back and Mike assured that he was mailing them out. Right. Day 57 we still had not received the plates. We called again, this time angry and they assured us they were mailing them. My husbands temporary tag expired and he couldn't ride for 2 days, while we waited for the license plate which finally arrived, albeit, late. It has now been TWELVE weeks since we bought the bike. We still have not received our reimbursement from the GAP insurance that we were required to get due to ''financing''. Jordan in finance has assured us TWICE that ''his girl in accounting'' will be calling. Yet we have heard nothing. At this point we don't know if we will ever see this money. We have been emailing since March, called once or twice in April and no one can tell us anything. I would 100% recommend getting a Harley, we have been completely impressed with the bike. However I would avoid Republic HD at all costs. read more

I told Don that I wasn't interested in serious haggling. My theory is that two sides swap offers about twice and if you aren't in the ballpark then everyone walks away without getting butt hurt. No serious wasted time. Then the managers got involved. I asked them to work up an estimate for me. Of course the first estimate included the bike at sticker price, which I don't think anyone ever intends to pay. The REAL kicker was that they got the bike on trade-in, but because they had done some work to it, they expect to pass on an $808 "servicing fee" to me. So lets walk through the numbers: Kelley Trade In value on that bike is $5290 Republic says they put $1127 into the bike. (Costing Republic a total of $6417) They have the bike listed at Kelley Retail of $7700 Ordinarily, if they sold for that price, they would would profit about $1,283 ($7700 - $6417) ($1283 / $6417 = 20% profit). And that would have been a reasonable expectation. But don't forget about that $808 servicing fee that they hoped I was dumb enough to go along with. ( ($1283 + $808) / $6417 = 32% profit) See, normally, when a dealer takes a bike on trade, they give a very reduced value to the original owner because they expect that they will have to put some money into the bike. I can't say for sure how much Republic gave the previous owner for the trade on this Yamaha Raider so my math above could be wrong. Either way, I think it's an uncommon practice for a dealer to take a trade in, do the necessary work on it, and then pass along an additional $800 fee. I had never seen this tactic before when buying cars. So I got skeptical and told them that I wanted to research the matter. That's when the manager (Matt) huffed and slightly rolled his eyes, because I was being a cautious consumer. They tried the typical pressuring (What number do you need to walk out the door today with the bike?") but I am glad I walked away empty handed. Every friend that I have talked to that has bought cruisers has told me that the "servicing fee" is bull shit. Every business is entitled to try to make as much money as possible, but anyone buying a used bike from Republic should know what traps and tricks you are going to encounter. read more

I have been a parts, service and motorclothes customer at Republic Harley Davidson since 2007 and I spent my last dollar there last week! I went to the parts department in search of an air filter and was advised by the parts guy who was helping me that the filter that I was in search of was not made for my bike. I already had the part number and knew that it was available. He searched another catalog and finally found it and told me "wow, I already told two other people that they don't make that part"! The parts guy then searches the computer and says that the part is not in stock and proceeds to try to sell me another part that "looks cool" and costs way more and he doesn't even know if it fits..... What a dingleberry!!!! The parts manager gets involved and says that they do not have the part that I am looking for and tries to sell me yet another "cool looking" air filter that is wayyyy more than I am looking to spend and he is not sure if they have one to fit my bike???? WTF? Finally, Brandon gets involved and they magically have the part that I am looking for! Imagine that! Next, I set up an appointment to have my bike tuned on the dyno and they call me a bit later and advise me that my back tire is "too thin" to run it on the dyno but they can order me a new one for $280 plus installation!! I ordered the tire myself and had it shipped to my door for $199 and installed for $25.50 at another dealer who also did the dyno tuning for much cheaper than I was quoted at Repukelic HD..... If you ride an older bike they have no time for you, parts dept just plan rude when they advertise a part on a display but it is obsolete and we don't have it then why is it on the display???never will go again read more
