Amazing time at happy hour. We arrived just as they opened in the evening. The restaurant is beautiful and there's a huge bar. Fancy - casual sort of vibe. No stuffy just relaxed. Friendly attentive staff. We felt ao taken care of. The menu has something foe everyone, we were very hungry amd ordered almost all of the happy hour apps. Drinks were so good too. For about 20 minutes we were the only ones there (party of 6) Then other diners trickled in, and our attentive service didn't change. Our servers even came over to take group pics for us. First time ever here - beautiful place and very spacious. Bathroom floors are pretty sticky and need some maintenance but drinks were hitting. My friend and I went in on Sunday after Bathhouse for the brunch to celebrate her bday. Nice decor. Full bar. Ample space. It was around 3:45pm and brunch was over at 4pm. I asked the hostess if we could do it and she said, yes. We were seated, then we waited, and waited, and waited for a waitress to come to us but no one did. Not even to give us water. There was a woman walking around not doing anything; she seemed to be a waitress. She would look at us but kept wondering aimlessly. There was a waitress at the bar having a casual conversation. So around 3:56 I told my friend we were leaving. 10 min of just sitting there. If they didn't want to do the brunch due to timing then that could've been communicated. As we were leaving I stopped to put my coat on and the hostess is just there having a conversation; she didn't bother asking us why we were leaving. We waited and waited for drinks. All the food came out before we got any beverages, sodas juices mimosas. We had to call the attention of the server each time we needed anything from missing sides to napkins, to water. When we arrived, there weren't any tables available for us to sit yet.....which was slightly strange because i saw a few tables open. Nevertheless, the hostess did her best to sit us down. There is a main course requirement, and as a vegan I wasn't able to substitute with sides. So, I wouldn't recommend this spot for brunch if you're a vegan unless you're comfortable eating the sides from the main and splitting it with non vegan friends (which is what I did). We went to celebrate our son's birthday on a Monday. The ambiance was exciting - had a party but homey atmosphere. Being a Monday, seem like we had the place to ourselves. The food was real good. I had the chicken fried rice a which had that good Asian flavor with Latin sazón. The wife had the churrasco and frites which was cooked very well and juicy. I made a brunch reservation to celebrate my 40th birthday! The administration was super helpful and informative with menu options. I had eleven people in my party group. I chose a pre-fix menu for my brunch since we had over 8 people. Brunch is served family style. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff. They had our table ready. This restaurant has a beautiful ambiance. I chose the pre-fix brunch menu, which consists of 1.5 hours of bottomless mimosa, 3 appetizers, 3 entrees, and 2 desserts. Prior to arriving at the restaurant, the hostess called me to notify me that they did not have empanadas. I'm glad they called ahead of time to let me know. I loved that they give you plenty of juice option to choose from for your mimosa. I have to say the passion fruit mimosa was delicious. Honestly, they make sure you get all the bottomless mimosa you can. They kept bringing the champagne out and juice consistently. The Dj they had was really good. He played a variety of mixed music. Now on to the food, I chose the spicy mango BBQ wings, guacamole, and lomo tacos. The wings tasted really good. The guacamole was delicious, and my favorite appetizer was the lomo tacos. The chipotle aioli sauce on the tacos was delicious. For main entrée, I chose cachapas chicken and waffle, Bruno Rancheros, and the chicken sandwich. The chicken to the waffles was very good, nice, and flavorful. However, I was not a big fanatic of the glaze on the waffle. Had the glaze had not been on the waffle, it would have made a big difference in texture and taste. The chicken sandwich was delicious, and I was surprised to see they served a big portion of the sandwich. My favorite entrée was the Bruno Ranchero. It was delicious. The steak was nice and tender and flavorful. For dessert I chose the tres leche and flan. Both were good but the tres leche was my favorite. Staff came out to sing happy birthday to me. Overall, this place is a vibe. Me and my guest had an amazing time. There's nothing but great vibes in this place. There's no place to dance for brunch, but we got up and dance anyways, we went around the dining area dancing. Some other people got up and follow us. FYI, the margarita are nice and strong here. About 5 mins after sitting down we asked to move tables before ordering anything to see the jazz musician. This took about 20 minutes of us just waiting to be moved. Outdoor to-go review: It was late on a May Saturday night- just around midnight and we were hungry! Republic's taco stand was just calling our names. Upon ordering both employees were on their phones- like deep in their phones. I stood there for 2 minutes watching them and finally spoke up. We ordered 2 sets of birria tacos and each a drink. Well there was a problem with getting a daquiri so I ended up with a margarita. We sat in the closed out patio area. Just us, tables and chairs. We happily sipped on our cocktails and stuffed our faces with those birria tacos as we people watched! Pro tip- add the hot sauce! it really gave it the kick the taco needed. Came here late Sunday afternoon. Just missed the brunch menu which is served from 11 am to 4 pm. They have bottomless mimosas for $29.95. They have a huge bar, wide variety of mixed drinks, spirits, wines, etc. The drinks were great! They have a DJ that was really into his music. The food was really great. Their chef is of Peruvian and Puerto Rican descent. Republic is differently because the chef took his experience with adding an Asian flair as he worked in kitchens like Morimoto, Nobu, Qi, and Spice Market. I did not know the name of the woman at the podium outside although she drew us in with a genuinely helpful, bubbly personality. Our server Donna was very nice along, with the other server Mia. We had the short rib empanadas and shrimp tempura tacos as appetizers. Both were bursting with flavor. We also had the wild salmon with mashed potato and broccoli. We also had the Peruvian rice (Chaufa) which was awesome! You can easily be shared with 2 or 3 people. I did not have desert because I wanted to hit my favorite gelato place close by. We came here for Sunday brunch with a reservation. Parking wasn't too bad, and when we arrived, the restaurant was nearly empty with only a few tables occupied. Unfortunately, we were seated at a very uncomfortable table. Since we were in short dresses, we politely asked to move to the table behind us, but the hostess rolled her eyes and firmly said no, claiming it was reserved for a party. The odd part? No one ever sat there--the party was actually on the opposite side of the room. That immediately set the tone on a sour note. The unlimited brunch itself was just okay. The champagne felt cheap, though you do get to choose two juices for mixing. Our server seemed a bit annoyed that we weren't ready to order right away, which didn't help the atmosphere. As for the food: * Empanadas - the star of the menu, definitely worth ordering. * $50 steak - completely underwhelming, overcooked, and lacking flavor. * Pancakes - dry and bland. * Fried chicken - decent but nothing special. * Tres leches cake - mediocre at best, I'd skip it. To top it off, they tack on a 20% service charge, but it's not clearly labeled as such on the itemized bill--it just shows up as an empty charge. Once the game was almost halfway they started harassing us to either buy plates or bottle service, otherwise we would have to leave. None of that was ever specified in the tickets we got. And then out of the blue there was a 90 minute table limit. Not only were they disrespectful but it felt like we were the only table getting this treatment. Don't throw an event without specifying the restrictions. And don't expect people to come for a sport event if you're gonna put a time limit on it. After 4pm, you can get the special - 3 tacos for $12 and $10 margaritas. I liked the Pepper Steak and the Shrimp tacos. The tacos are small, definitely a street taco size, but full of flavor. Be sure to order other menu items to share if you're hungry. The guacamole is fire. Served with housemade chips and plantain chips! Big enough to share! I went 2 different times for dinner and brunch within a few weeks. I noticed that the guacamole was garnished differently each time. The truffle fries were so good, I couldn't stop eating them. Large enough to share. I was surprised that there weren't a lot of great options to eat for brunch as a gluten free person. I was bit disappointed when I found out the arepa was not gluten free. I tried the Churrasco Frites - skirt steak, hand cut fries, lemongrass-chimichurri, side salad. I wasn't impressed by this entree, especially not for $41. The steak was over cooked. The chimichurri was not my favorite. I added a fried egg, but it was cooked completely over hard and too over cooked for me. I wish the server would have asked how I wanted my egg. This dish really lacked flavor, I wouldn't recommend it. The Impossible Mushroom Burger was huge! Very flavorful and super delicious. Highly recommend this menu item. The drinks! I really liked the mezcal margarita. The Pineapple, Mango, and Passionfruit are great flavors additions. I also tried a bloody Maria, it was awful. They offer bottomless brunch everyday from 11am-4pm - 1.5 hours of bottomless Bellini and Mimosas. In my opinion, a bit overpriced, but still pretty good food and drinks. The dinner menu and the brunch menu both have good options, just depends on when you go. Brunch Service was a bit slow, we were the only party besides another party in the restaurant so not sure why the service was so slow and why they messed up a few times on what we ordered. Overall, this is a cool spot, they have some good and not so good highlights of both of my visits to this restaurant. I'd go back, but I'd order some different menu items next time. read more
