ZERO Stars. This company is not even worth 1 star. They only get one because I can't submit a review unless they get at least one. EVERY WEEK, you all know the drill, we get a call that "due to driver shortages, truck breakdowns, or just fill in the blank", they cannot pick up the trash and/or recycling. All while continuing to raise the prices every quarter. This has been going on for 4 years! Pre Covid, so that is no excuse. Called and spoke to them on numerous occasions. Their excuse is driver shortages. I told them that was their problem, not the customer's problem. I suggested they take the price increases EVERY billing cycle and hire some drivers. Of course, that means they would have to pay out some of that unearned profit. Switching ASAP. read more

AVOID THIS COMPANY!!! THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS. Bait you with a low price, then you get all sorts of Admin and environmental fees which double the price, on top of outrageous barrel delivery charges $65. Then they miss their service, called them 7 times, wasted 6+ hours of my life and they only credited me $1. 1 freaking dollar for missing several pickups!!!!! Now that I'm cancelling they are charging me $65 to pick up the barrels. I am so beyond angry with them, over $250 for 2 months of every other week trash pickup - I am infuriated with them and wouldn't pay except I know that they will send the bill to collections and try to ruin my credit. Republic Services is the worst company I have ever dealt with! STAY AWAY! read more

Republic Services was once a reliable company. In the last 6 months, they have missed pick ups consistently. The customer service rep says "they are coming" every time I call (yes, it has gotten to the point where I start calling at 2 to give them notice). Because our pick up is at the end of the week we often have to sit with the garbage and recycling until they can come on Monday. I don't appreciate being consistently lied to by the reps, nor do I appreciate trying to find where to put 2 days worth of trash and recycling when I am paying to not have to do that. We are no longer using this company, our patience has run out! read more

Before I started this review I looked at the other reviews and I quickly was impressed that Republic actually responded to some of the (well deserved) negative reviews, but then just as quickly became un impressed but the responses. every single one starts on We're very sorry, we're so sorry, we apologize for the inconvenience...etc. Apologies are only true If you attempt to change this issue people. Republic are you really reading these reviews? Have you fired the manager and the supervisors that runs the plant for the Worcester MA area? Clearly there is a disconnect there!! READ THE REVIEWS!! These people are not lying!! I live in a condominium complex in Uxbridge, MA the trash pickup has been so inconsistent in the past few months, first it was Monday then switched to Friday then no pick up, rescheduled to a Tuesday, the no pick up, the rescheduled back to Friday, finally a pick up. Then no notice to a pick up on Monday. then back to Friday no pick up, then a surprise pickup on Saturday, then a reschedule to Tuesday...SERIOUSLY???? YOU GUYS ARE REDICULOUS!!! READ THE REVIEWS!!!! DO SOMETHING!! Being publicly traded on the NYSE means nothing to us...better customer service and better and consistent scheduling does !!! read more

One of the biggest group of snakes I have ever worked with. We used them for 3 empties a week. Asked to bring us down to 2. They sent us a new contract which was more money than the 3. In their defense we signed it and scanned the new contract and within minutes we sent them an email questioning the increased cost. They gave us some song and dance about costs going up so we let them know we would search for an alternative. As a small business, every dollar counts. They ignored our repeated emails, phone calls etc and instead of trying to work with a long time customer, they threatened legal action and today have sent us a demand letter from their lawyers. We worked with them as professionals for years as they have missed empties, left trash in our parking lots, left smelly liquid from their dumpy trucks in our parking lot and have hit cars in our parking lot. Terrible business ethics and just terrible people. read more

0 stars. Republic regularly misses trash pick ups and makes false promises. They do have a nice company web page...too bad the web page doesn't contain email addresses to address concerns or complaints. A phone number is all they provide (a local number but connects out of state) and you are made to wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, well you get the idea. It's too bad I have to come to a public forum to vent my frustrations. I wonder if people like Jon Vander Ark, President and Chief Executive Officer or any members of "Republic Services Leadership" even reviews these complaints. Shame on them if they don't. read more

I've used them for 6 years for my small office. Started off at $80 month for trash and recycling, now is $700 / month. They auto renew you (Legal in mass) every 3 years, so your stuck paying or buying out of the contract. Amazingly, when I called to terminate service ( which is an endeavor in itself) I was offered $80 a month again! This of course would only increase back up to $700 in 6 years again due to the details of the contract that allow for small incremental changes month by month. Now that I have finally rid myself of this horrific company, I am about to go into collections for a bill I received for the month of service after my account was closed. I don't even have the dumpsters anymore, and I am billed for pickup services. This as a perfect example of unethical dealings from a company that likely overbills large corporations that don't care and squeeze every little cent out of small companies and residential customers. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. read more

Republic Recycling dropped 4 large recycling bins at my residential property; I did NOT request them. As it turns out, they had the incorrect address on the order -- yet still threatened to charge me for bins I neither ordered nor used? On my own, I determined who the correct recipient of the bins should have been (a commercial construction project in my community) and the customer actually picked up the bins -- not Republic. Absolute joke of a company from top to bottom. I would not use Republic if they were the last recycling services company on Earth! read more

Run, don't walk away from this company. We have been a customer for 15 years. No problems. Over the last four months they started coming whenever they felt like it. Then, not coming until we called. Then not coming at all over the last month despite calling. They are sorry, they will be there tommorow . Nope. Trash still at the end of my driveway for a month now. On the phone, I told them they are going to lose a lot of business, they lady snidely told me they will lose no customers for missing a pick up. Well here goes one customer. Update. Have since cancelled service after years of service. I believe the only people left at this company are the Public relations damage control office. Not only did they not pick up our trash for a month, they can't even come and retrieve there empty trash barrel. Their are 3 other people on my road with empty barrels that have cancelled waiting to be picked up. One has a note on it pleading to please take this barrel. I've changed companies, and like magic, my trash is picked up, on time, when they said, no need for the apologies and false promises. read more

To anyone looking for a trash service, when I say "stay away" please heed my warning. I paid this company up front and in full when I first bought my new home, (there were and still are a ton of trash companies that I could have and still can use) but I chose Republic because the previous owner recommended them and I figured "meh trash pick up is trash pickup". There has been nothing but issues with this company, and trying to get things rectified is beyond a joke, I have called them 5 times in the last 3 weeks, had my case "escalated" spoke to "supervisors" and I'm now going on my FOURTH week without my trash being picked up. I have FOUR weeks of trash on my front lawn.....my bill is paid, I have no outstanding balances...and all they can tell me is "due to unforeseen circumstances we were unable to pick up that route.......1 week I can understand.....2 weeks is vexing....but 4 weeks and no answer? Unacceptable. I was lied to 3 times being told my trash would be picked up the night of the phone call (it wasn't) I was told they would expedite a truck to my area (they did not) and I am still left with my garbage on my front lawn with no resolution in sight. Once I get this squared away I will be cancelling my account with Republic, I will hop on Twitter, and speak with my friend who writes for the local paper and ensure no one else within 20 miles of my home use this company for their trash services. And on a side note.....I have a very large driveway and I always ensure to put my trash inside my buckets and drag it to the curb.....one day I came home and my buckets were both missing.....after some research I get a rude phone call telling me the truck drivers "took my buckets because I never put my trash inside them so they assumed I didn't need them". Let that passive aggressive move sit in your mind for a second....I paid for those buckets and I ALWAYS put my trash in them.....and they took them back because the driver was too lazy to pick up the overflow bags (which I paid for and have a statement for) then stole my buckets out of spite. Don't overvalue your worth Republic you pick up trash....not cure Cancer there are a million places who can do what you do, and do it better.....I for one will be reaching out to them as well as my family. Zero stars in all aspects.......you have been warned. read more

I have spent so much time calling in and escalating missed pickups. I had recycling out 3 weeks in a row and they didn't pick it up. Spent long amount of time on 2 phone calls for them to actually get it together and come pick it up last week. THEN, the regular trash truck didn't pick up the same week! Here we go again, I had to call and escalate ANOTHER missed pickup. They promised they would send the truck by end of the following day. But, nope, still nothing. Now I have to spend more time calling them again tomorrow. I am definitely in need of a reliable trash service if anyone has recommendations! Republic has got to go! read more

If I could give no stars I would. Horrible company. Waited 1.5 months to have my containers removed after switching to a different company. Then was told I had a refund check being mailed back to me only to find out the charges for removal of the trash containers magically totaled the exact amount of my proposed refund check of just under $90. This company is a lying bag of SHIT. Stay away. Reason why we switched companies: trash pickup was always either late, postponed or canceled. We could never depend on them for timely removal of trash. read more

I just moved into a house where the owner had Republic Trash services and they still haven't retrieved their trash cans from my property. I've called 3 times and submitted a claim through their website with no success. I'm going to try to get them to pick up their cans one more time and then I'm going to ask them to pick up their cans in the woods because that's where I'm going to throw them. GET YOUR TRASH CANS OFF MY PROPERTY NOW. Thanks for reading. 5/14 - Oh hey, it's me again. I called shortly after this review and was told that today would be the day they finally pick up their garbage cans. Does this look like they've removed them? Nope. This is the single worst service I've ever seen with any business. I'm going to go outside and throw them into the woods now. Thanks for reading again. 5/16 - Called again today. They truly promise someone will be by tomorrow. The lady admitted that original pick up was supposed to be for 4/17. Interesting how time flies. This place is THE WORST. 5/17 - They haven't picked it up yet. Surprise. Calling the BBB to file a formal complaint on this business tomorrow if a truck doesn't show up here tonight. Oh and for those of you reading that happy little message that Republic Services wrote about "sending a private message," that's baloney. They don't have private messages turned on and going through their website clearly doesn't work either. read more

Republic Services Auburn - Dumpster Rental Near Me - Auburn, Massachusetts

Worst company every! Please stay away! Read the dozens and dozens of negative reviews and news articles about this company. I've had this company for a few years. At first they seemed OK, for the past 3 years they've been the worst! Trash is suppose to be picked up weekly, they come when they want to. Basically once a month and that's NOT OK! I call, I get told they'll come the following day, Of course that doesn't happen. Trash customer service too. Once I'm able to I'll be dumping this trash company. Now I know why all my neighbors have Pratt. I'll be going with them real soon. Please stay away from Republic. They've been on the news several times and nothing changes. That's telling me they don't care about their customers. read more

Customer for years but lately they have been horrible. This is for folks that may be using Republic Services for trash out of Auburn. We have had no trash pickup for two weeks. We have called last week and today and got the runaround. The second call today the woman explained they have a shortage of drivers and was surprised we haven't heard on the news about it. They have no idea when this "driver" issue will be fixed. Needless to say we have switched to Leboeuf Trash Services out of Southbridge for less money. read more

I never leave bad reviews publicly but after 4 days on hold for over 45 minutes each time I've had enough. Our pick up day is Monday each week. We received (yet another) call that our driver was "backed up" and couldn't get to our home for our trash. (This happens at least 2 times each month). They then stated they would be here Tuesday. I called, sat on hold for 45 minutes and was assured it would be picked up on Wednesday. Same thing Wednesday. Same thing Thursday. Oh and same thing Friday (the beginning of a Holiday weekend), so our trash won't be picked up until Tuesday. They "simply didn't have anyone near us." Republic is located 2 towns over from us soooo, in order to not lose a customer (who's been with them for over 10 years) one would think they would make it work. Again, this is not the first time this has happened with them and this was just the final straw. Do yourself a favor and save hours upon hours on the phone and go with a local company that cares about service. read more

I'd like to put negative stars. We've had them for years without any problems. Starting in April they just stopped coming. They would leave a voicemail saying they would come the next day. 3 week without service. We are moving and told them we have to have our trash picked up or we have to pay 100$. No pick up we had to take our trash and the container to our new house to take to the dump. DO NOT USE THEM HORRIBLE read more

The absolute worst service. Every Thursday pick up and it is always a mystery if they will show. They are really good at cashing checks and collecting money. They never forget that. This is the 5th time in 2 months where they were late or didn't come at all. No call. I guess its my fault for not moving my business sooner. Would highly not recommend. If my trash isn't picked up on Monday. I will deliver to auburn and leave it at there office. read more

Terrible service; constantly miss pickups. We have called several times and customer service is located in PHX AZ and has no interest in resolving issues. Three separate times we have asked to speak to a supervisor and are told they will call us - they never do. I highly recommend not to use this service for your trash pickup - highly aggravating experience. 19 Mar 2018 I did receive a call today from a nice gentleman who explained that they have been experiencing some truck issues and along with the weather this has caused some of the pickup issues. He has assured me that a game plan is in place to improve service; I look forward to seeing the improved results. 04 Apr 2018 Despite multiple phone calls and assurances from local Republic team our trash was not picked up again. Not surprising we just paid our bill and there was no discount for the poor service and associated inconvenience. This has been a very disappointing experience. 09 May 2018 Today we were informed without any reason that our trash will not be picked up this week. We called the main office but were told they didn't know why our trash won't be picked up but that it certainly won't be picked up this week. We are in the process of choosing a new trash service and will be ending our relationship with Republic Services as soon as possible. I hope anyone reading this review will take warning and never do business with this company. Given all of the other negative reviews it appears no one at Republic is interested in providing anything of value to its customers. 10 May 2018 We have now signed a new contract with a local waste management company. Spoke directly with the owner and he stated we were the 5th customer to call that day alone to move their trash service away from Republic to his business. read more

Edited 12/10/20 - Based on my original review, I was contacted by a representative of the company who got me in touch with a local account manager from my town who within a few days was able to resolve the situation. I wanted to give them a second chance and continue using them for my construction project, however the company closed/deactivated my account so I can't request another dumpster from them. When I called them, they said they can no longer service this location. They did resolve the charges in my favor, however, so I'm bumping this review from 1-star to 2-star. --------- Unbelievably bad! I'm doing a house renovation in Revere, MA and got a 30 yard dumpster in the driveway. In early September I scheduled a pickup online and the system generated the wrong pickup date (it was off by a few days). I needed a pickup the next day and not a few days in the future so I called customer service to correct that. Then the pickup came as I requested on the phone but they took away the dumpster AGAIN on the date that was generated by their faulty website (the customer service person instead of rescheduling the request, he created another request without cancelling the original one)! I noticed the container was gone at 7.05 am so it just must have been picked up, so I called customer service to try to reach the driver to bring back the container because it was essentially EMPTY. They refused saying "they can't contact the driver". I spoke with a rep who said they would bring a container back and that I shouldn't be charged for an unscheduled pickup of an empty container. They brought another container the following morning. After a few weeks when the container was maybe just a quarter full, they showed up at the property saying they gave me the wrong container that belonged to another company (??), and they needed to swap it for one of theirs. I said ok as long as I'm not charged for it. Then I got charged for BOTH pickups that I DID NOT REQUEST! I've been calling customer service every week or two weeks since September (it's Nov 20th now), and they just say that an account rep will call me to resolve this. Nobody called me back for 6 weeks and now they're even adding late fees! I just got an email from their Collections Department demanding payment for over $1500. And really, for over two months they have no one to call you back? read more

I'm done with these guys. No trash pickup for 3 weeks. No way to get local response or resolution. I called the local customer support number and I'm talking to some lady in North Carolina; meanwhile, here in Central Mass. I've got a full bin out there and I'm waiting for the bears to start coming by. Called last week - no response. Called yesterday (my pickup day) and left my phone number. No call and no pickup. Made my third call in a week today and the best they can do is alert someone local "in the system". They don't have local phone numbers for the location that is 12 minutes from my house. They are too big and too bloated to be able to offer local response. This is simple stuff - they're supposed to pick up my trash, and then I pay them every month. They can't even do that well. read more

This company is so unprofessional, where do I start? Dropped my other trash companies for these idiots, paid my bill on time every month, never once late, my trash was picked up every Friday, there were weeks they never showed up and trash and recycling would stay in the driveway for 2 weeks, call customer service and they get so mad they would hang up on me, cancelled my account with them and they never came to pick up the buckets, now I'm stuck with them, called 100 times complaining about the buckets not being picked up and customer service just hangs up, unreal, do not use them, you will regret it. read more

I use them for a few years but just like everybody else they pick up your trash when they want to a good racket they got 20 million customers if they skip everybody one week look at the money they save I file complaints the Better Business Bureau Attorney General once you do that they will credit your account they want to charge me $700 to pick up the two trash barrels cuz I cancel my service I told him to take the barrels and stick them up their ass I am not paying you a dime they sent me a bill for $720 I refuse to pay they kept sending me collection bills I contacted a Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General within a week I had a full credit on my account and matter of fact they sent me a check for $73 I would advise everybody that's been ripped off by Republic Service to call your attorney general and local Better Business Bureau read more

Terrible, unreliable service in my experience. Most of my pickups are cancelled. My recycling pickups have been canceled for six weeks. They keep telling me that they will come back on my next scheduled pickup day, but then they cancel that pickup too. I find their call center to be useless. The people that I speak with don't have the authority to fix the problem. The people with the authority to fix the problem do not return my calls. I wish I could rate zero stars. read more

Republic Services service is in the dumpster. Horrible!!! They have missed numerous weekly pickups and will not pick up until the next week...at least 4 times this year in Princeton alone. One time they robo-called to let us know but the other times...nothing....!!! And when you call...Arizona...you are on hold for 20 minutes or more. We changed services and when we cancelled they are now trying to charge us for an additional month...it is their "policy" even though we have never had a written agreement. One never knows when you may want to change trash services but I do know that, after this, I would never go back to Republic. Stay away!!! Wednesday July 11: Update: Yesterday a "supervisor" left a voicemail for my wife regarding the charge. I called the number that "Brenda" left and hit option 3. A customer service rep answered and reviewed the "case". I explained that we had paid for a full year in advance... 7/17 to 6/18... and therefore we were not under any obligation to Republic. She threatened to send it to a Collection Agency if we did not pay. I asked for a "supervisor"...none was available but one would call...(?). Always at their convenience. I asked them to email me...no can do!!! In spite of the Yelp response from Customer Service the telephone people at Customer Support did not receive the memo!!! read more

I called Republic Services today (Jan 3rd) for some customer service assistance. I am currently house sitting for my mother while she is out of the country for a few weeks and the trash and recycling has been piling up at the end of the driveway. I called and spoke with a RS rep, "Josh." He was very friendly and helpful, confirmed my information and heard my complaint. My complaint being that we hadn't had any pick ups for trash or recycling in 3 weeks. I gave him the dates of missed services and he quickly provided with me a pickup date. Then he transferred me to a woman named, "Kenya" because I requested a credit on my moms bill for all the missed services. She had an aggressive tone so I felt like the conversation was getting more "heated" then it needed to be. She asked if I'd called before for the missed pick ups, I replied No, (hoping they'd be coming any day now...). She then said sharply, "you get one or the other that's it." It was clear she was not going to help me nor feel a spec of sympathy for me. So I politely ended the call with a "thank you, I'll let my mother know. Good bye." After sharing this experience with my mom, I found out this happens ALL the time. And unfortunately it's not her responsibility to have to call them and nag them for the services she's paying for. So she'll be switching to another provider ASAP! On Jan 6 @ 4:30pm I called RS to say pick up still hasn't come! Spoke with ebony who says they go until 6pm and my address is still scheduled for pick up today. It never came. So on Tuesday around the same time I was starting to think about calling again, and they finally came. It was like pulling teeth. Another frustrating issue we've been dealing with is changing the name on the account we have. My father dropped dead 2 years ago and my mother has asked MANY times to please remove his name from the account so she isn't constantly being reminded of our loss. Today is February 11th and we're still getting mail addressed to my late father. It's a heartbreaking reminder. read more

5 weeks no recycling pickup. 3 weeks no trash pickup. These guys are absolutely infuriating. They constantly cancel pickup, and are often DAYS late. My bins are always at the end of my driveway. I live in central Massachusetts outside Worcester. I'm dumping this company like the herpetic mass that they are. I don't know what's inside the trucks I see driving by (while my trash sits on the side of the road) but it sure the hell isn't trash. I don't often say this, but I absolutely HATE this company. We recently canceled our trash and recycle pick up with Republic Services. After several missed pick ups and after using them for several years they seemed to get worse over time. Not to mention their customer service is outsourced to a call service in some other part of the country and their offices are not connected through a computer network. Everytime I called they would give me a different answer! HORRIBLE SERVICE ALL AROUND! So after we canceled they scheduled a date to pick up their 2 bins. Well today we get a bill for $94 for removing the 2 bins! I would give them zero stars if it was possible. We went with Harvey and are now saving ourselves $73 a quarter, including recycles!!! They have been fantastic so far and when you call them you get a friendly local service representative. What a breath of fresh air and I only wish we had done that a few years ago. read more

Let me start off saying that our trash man is amazing! We have had the same guy for 25+ years. If it wasn't for him I would of ditched this company years ago. It's the recycle truck that is an issue. He is supposed to come every 2 weeks. Half the time he doesn't show up so that leaves me with 4 weeks of recycles. I am getting tired of this. He was supposed to be here last friday, never showed again(after 4 weeks). I looked at the schedule, it was postponed to monday. No show again, called on tuesday and the rep promised he would be there on weds, no show again. I called again on thursday and rep said they would try and get it collected but she wasn't sure. Monday is a holiday, I already have two overflowing barrels. I recently called to start getting a refund for the times he doesn't show up. Its a $5 refund for missed recycles. They still charge me a fuel charge whether he comes or not. When asked why I am still getting a fuel charge when the truck isn't coming, she explained that its a maintenance charge as well for truck repairs etc. How much maintenance is going on for a truck that hardly shows up? read more

Republic raised my trash service fee by 20% with no explanation. So I shopped and found a competitor that offers the same service for way less. I signed up for that and needed to call Republic to cancel... only I waited on hold for over 1 1/2 hours without anyone answering. read more

minus or zero stars - My neighbors are laughing about me and my shitty trash service from Republic. The past 3 years they rarely pick up trash on the scheduled day - This would result in my trash being at the curb for days, if not a full week. Sometimes would never show until the next pickup 2 weeks later. My phone full of voicemails of missed pickups. Same excuse driver shortage or vehicle issues. but a full charge every month - as they only refund if you complain loud enough. I finally called to cancel and request a refund for over 10 missed pickups in 5 months, now they are charging me $80 for the final bin pick up after i am forced to used them for 30 days after cancelation. My service ends and they want me to store their cans for another 7 days till the final pick up, lol - what a scam company Find a different trash provider!! But i know it's too late and your just here to complain like we all. read more

I must say after reading there reviews I can see that many find the professionalism of this company to be pretty low. Mine is a different dealing. I actually had a job interview scheduled for Thursday and I went there and found out it was today aka Friday. Horrible! Absolute trash of a company. They missed a pick up, and not a first time either, then when we called, they finally came. But then, they billed us for it as an extra! A call back would be more appropriate! Stay away! read more

I just cancelled their service after a year. One of the least dependable services I have ever experienced. No one has picked up my trash in a month despite them collecting 3 months in advance. I have wasted so much time on the phone trying to get resolved and my time is worth money. The service agents will offer a $20 credit for the next billing period but I have wasted more than that taking the time to call and figure out why I still have a biohazard in my front lawn. When I cancelled they stated they would be out to pick up the bins and garbage in another 2 weeks. so for a month and a half of summer I have piles of garbage in front of my house and conversations about it have dominated my home life. read more
